i am a newbie to wm6 (have settled over from palm-devices).
is it possible to eliminate the today screen and use the phone dialer as the standard app?
thanks for your help
Hm that would be interesting (like my Treo 650, God bless it... ).
But there is somewhere a palm emulstor for ppc devices. Yahoo it and you'll find it.

Hi all,
I want to know what is the fix or replacement for the Intellidialer software for the wm5 ???
I just love this Intellidialer! i used to use Imaginet Fingerclix before in wm2003. and now fingerclix is not compatible with wm5, nor is intellidialer working. so what can i use for this?
Please help me, as i can shift to wm5, only if i get this thing working.
Thanx a lot , in advance!
hey all,
i am really surprised seeing no replies to my question above...
how come i am the only one here using the intellidialer software?
ppl using wm5 now, are u still going to contacts using the stylus and picking out the contact u want to dial? isnt that too tedious? personally, i just cant imagine using the xda2 without that software...
Please someone help me, so i can too start using wm5
Hi there,
The closest thing you could get to a single hand finger dialling in WM5 is using Sygic Mobile Contacts. It's not as simple or smart as Intellidialer but it works!
Otherwise, you could start imagining using XDA II without Intellidialer !
Try PhonePlus 3
It works like a charm (even for predefined SMS)

thanx a lot, Rhmartin & Sabo for the advises,
will try out PhonePlus 3, first, if that doesnt suit, then will try out Rhmartin's advice
thanx a lot.
I replace my Treo 750 with a AT&T Tilt, and I really REALLY miss the threaded Chat of my palm
I tried Textr and it does not work, I install it, and just tells me that the trial expired. I will not pay for a program that in 10 seconds fails!!
I also tried PocketCM and it seems to also lack stability.
Ideas, solutions.. can I get Treo Chat program on my Tilt?!
thanks

IMSMS / PocketCM
Isn't IMSMS something for that ?
maybe it's something you're searching for....
Since i started using Windows Mobile phone i have been realising how simple a fast Palm OS is. Especially the Calendar in Palm.
Is there a way to use Palm OS:s Calendar on Windows Mobile?

(big sigh...)
I wish there was a way! I miss the Palm Calendar, and even more: I miss DTBK5!!!
Unfortunately I believe the answer is no.
Y.
ive tried so many different calendar applications for ppc but none of them really can take Palms place...
wonder if someone can make a rip of Calendar from Palm Os. Im already enjoying Treos great threaded sms.
I've noticed that the PalmOS Agendus calendar program is now available on PocketPC, so perhaps that brings a bit of the PalmOS style calendar to the Windows world?
Peter, thank for the tip.
Checked it out. It doesnt look as Palm Calendar at all. Its just...too much.
The simple yet smart Palm Calendar...fast and few clicks.
i guess ive become one of those nostalgic ex Palm users nagging about WM.
Yet theres still hope. Im sure someone can make a copy someday.

Nik, yes - I understand. My wife uses a Palm Treo 680 and really likes the calendar app. It does look good, and fast. I've never cared for the WM calendar app much myself. The calendar entry form is OK, it is the views that I don't like much. I tried Pocket Informant but (IMhO) it is way too complex for my needs.
I use SBSH's PocketBreeze now. It is not a calendar but rather a Today screen plug in for the Calendar. So you still use the default Calendar to add appts, but you can use PB to view everything. It is quite powerful yet simple.

couldn't agree more.
I installed the trial version of Agendus and I find it too busy and cluttered. Almost unusable on the 750's screen. I think I will give it another day and then uninstall it.
Happy to join you club of ex Palmers winging about WM...

Hi Everyone,
A few days ago I bought a Palm Treo 500 on eBay which arrived yesterday. I assumed it would be just like my very worn out XDA Orbit, just with a keyboard and no touchscreen. It seems I was very much mistaken. The Palm runs WM6 Standard and I am stunned at all the missing features compared to the professional version.
Some current annoyances are:
Outlook wont let me specify more than one email account at the same domain. It says name already used.
I can't customise the home screen and or start menu.
Cannot edit repeating entry pattern in outlook
Cannot create word and excel docs
and on and on and on....
I always liked my Windows Mobile but I had only ever used the Pro version.
So, my question is:
What can I do about my Treo? Can I upgrade it to the Pro version. I know I can buy extra software to address some of my issues (docs to go, pocket informant etc) but spending on extra apps seems daft when I could have just bought something like an XDA mini with the pro OS in ROM.
Thanks for your help
Richard
Someone with the same device needs to dump his rom take out the drivers,
insert them into a WM 6.1 rom at best, create an image and upload it here.
Your Treo seems to be the only model without touchscreen.
I could not find a anything about your device on this site, yet.
Thank you for your reply. It looks like I will have to either accept the shortcomings and buy add-on software or stick it back on ebay and look for something different.
Cheers
Richard
