All,
i tried so many WM6 roms from the forum, and all have same issue... i can't run "Notes" which i use all the time on my phone.
some roms would simply hang whan i try running Notes after clean rom flash, others will run, but after i sync my device and copy the archived notes i was using on WM5, Notes will always hang when i try to run it.
the real issue, when "Notes" hangs, i have to soft-reset, and in many cases i end up with the "forgotten password" issue, and have to hard-reset and do all settings, sync, apps install...etc again (painful..)
any of you went thru this? any expereince or help will be highly appreciated ..
thx, |P|

i have a few fave programs that ran fine prior to installing wm6. now these apps seem to want to work, but end up hanging rather than opening and running. i am not a software wiz...so is this an issue with the programs not being able to run a super new os (x- plore 1.1), or is it with wm6 itself? the main one i'd like to get running is a meditation program called pocket natura. when i run it, the page goes white as if the program main screen wants to load...then it stays white. i need to close it out (if it lets me) or soft-reset. i would love to know if this is the wm6 or if it is just these certain apps not being able to run on wm6.
any info and/or tips would be most appreciated.
I have not run into any trouble with any apps on wm6. I am running faria's wm6 rom. But, just because i have not had any trouble does not mean that it is the same for all.
well i have uninstalled 1.1, and installed faria's...still i could not get those few apps to run. so next i installed the wm5 superrom, and without incident, those apps ran. so i am assuming that either the wm6 roms have an unknown glitch regarding third party programs, or i managed to find the few programs that are just too damned stubborn to run in wm6!!
thoughts on this?
i really liked the 2 wm6 roms i tried out, but i REALLY like the couple of third party apps that don't seem to want to run in wm6. is there any way of getting around this, or am i doomed to run wm5 or give up my fave apps to run wm6???
as always, thank you for your responses and insight/help.
Hello all...
I am at an end here, frustrated and very sad..
No, now really the problem.
I've searched high and low for this problem, and really can't seem to find a solution.
I have a htc Tytn, or hermes.
If I haven't performed a reset in a couple of hours, when I run an app, like NEtfront, or Messenger, then for instance go to write a text message, the tytn closes all other apps.
This is starting to become very annoying, especially since I am also running s2u2, and s2p.
If s2p is running, and s2u2 locks the phone, after a couple of seconds s2p auto closes.
Really tried everything, this is really bugging me out, anybody had or has the same issue?
Please, please pretty please with cherry's on top, can anybody help me?
Running on Schapp's rom, 4.22
Using quickmenu, want to use x to really close apps, maybe that's related, but problem is also there when use x to close is deactivated.
Running SBSH today screen plugin (Ilauncher) as well, but also with task manager function disabled..
This is getting so annoying, someone please help me!!
It's probably closing them because of insufficient program memory.
Solution Found!!!
It's been a long and tiresome search, but I finally got to the root of the problem
Tried different roms, same result.
Tried registry keys for HTC Taskmanager and autoclose memory threshold as found in this forum, no result..
Finally I found out it's Oxxios closeapps causign my programs to autoclose.
I used it to cleam my memory every now and then, and used it as the run on unlock for A_C brilliant S2U2 tool.
So basically Closeapps would run the instant my TyTN booted...
Now what I found out, is though you do nut run Closeapps activally, after it is used once, it does something to your memory and WM..don't ask me what...
It seemed to be closing programs unwanted.
Now that I removed Oxxios closeapps, my mobile can run multiple programs without isuues.
When I run it once, back to square one...
Oxxios hibernate does not seem to do this, so I'll try using that if I want to clear some Memory..
So everyone with the same issue, spread the word.
It can be HTC Tasmanager (registry values for autokill and memory threshhold, search this forum for exact details)
AND\OR
OXXIOS CLOSEAPPS.exe
if you run it once, it will close your apps untill next reboot...
I did not know that, and it caused a lot of frustration..
So hope I can help out some other frustrated users..
Take care, and thank you all for your input oin this, glad I got it sorted...
That has got to be the dumbest explanation I've ever heard.
I don't have CloseApps installed ATM and WM6 still automatically closes background tasks when it needs memory.
..
After my last couple of ROM upgrades I have developed a new problem. When I try to use the highlight and drag method in Outlook e-mail, I cannot select multiple items. I can still use the Select Messages->Several option but then I have to highlight one message at a time and I usually do not have a use for the Select Messages->All or All Below options. I don't think its a ROM issue because this happens with both Romeo's ROM v1.10 and DCS v14 and I can't seem to find anyone complaining of a similar issue. The only other thing I've done different in my last two ROM upgrades is to use Sashimi to reinstall my cabs and some settings. The Sashimi thread does not address this topic. This is not a big deal and I can live with it, but if anyone has any ideas to fix this problem please let me know. Thanks.
SASHIMI thread doesn't address because it is not a SASHIMI issue.
SASHIMI doesn't install anything permanently on your system in and of itself (it just resides on the storage card).
Every change SASHIMI makes to your system is decided by you.
If you give SASHIMI 10 cabs to install and 3.reg files to import then it is doing nothing but that.
I can pretty much guarantee you that if you manually go through the files that SASHIMI is installing and do them all yourself you will have the same problems. If not, then you are skipping something.
Users have reported issues like this before (not specific to your problem, but in general) where they think SASHIMI is the problem but then they realize that they are providing bad files to SASHIMI to process (e.g. a REG file that contains entries that is causing the problem).
I highly recommend doing this manually. If the problem is not there, then you need to go through your SASHIMI directory with a fine toothed comb and make sure there aren't any .reg files or anything that it is importing that is causing the problem.
If you can recreate an issue where anything installed by SASHIMI is causing a problem that isn't caused via other methods (manual, UC, etc), then please let me know.... I've never heard of one.
thx.
On my Hermes I used to be able to kill activesync with the task manager. With the new Topaz, task manager never displays activesync.
How can I get it to show activesync so I can kill the process without a soft-reset?
For what it's worth, the reason I need to kill activesync is because of a bug in the way it handles DNS. If I plug my phone into my desktop then it switches to the USB connection for activesync and correctly detects that the IP address for my exchange server is different (ie it's an internal IP). Unfortunately, when I disconnect from my desktop it never seems to realise this and continues to try and use that internal IP (or atleast that's what I think is happening). Killing both Messaging and Activesync solves the problem and I've been using this for nearly a year with the Hermes but I can't do it with the Topaz.
My Hermes was running a cooked wm6.1 ROM while my Topaz is currently running the stock HTC wm6.1 rom.
Cheers,
James
All stock ROMS have this behavour. If you know how to HARD-SPL and then flash another ROM I would suggest using the Topaz Essential ROM (it is the most stockish, stable and fast ROM I used) and after that using the fake server method for activesync.
Good luck and tell us what it worked for you!
no need to flash rom there is simple solution:
in HKCU\Software\HTC\TaskManager\ExclusiveList\System
written all proccesses that task manager don't show, delete what you want to be shown and soft reset.
activesync proccess is replog.exe
Annoying stock ROMs

Thanks Shumilica,
I wondered if it was a stock ROM related issue, but I figured that if the cooked ROM's could work around it then there must be a registry key or something that would allow me to do the same. I'm sure I'll end up installing a cooked ROM, as I have on my last 2 HTC phones, but since the phone is literally brand new I'm getting used to the stock ROM before I start messing with it.
I'll let you know how I go. BTW, I assume the fake server option is no use to me since I USE an Exchange Server and have it regularly syncing?
Cheers,
James

Thanks bnm7bnm,
That did the job perfectly. I couldn't find this solution with search so hopefully the title helps someone else now.
Thanks again,
James
title definitely did the trick as I just found this easily
In my case on the touch pro, the stock ROM i had was showing activesync in the HTC task manager, but after flashing Energy 6.5 ROM on there ActiveSync was not being shown. I like to use the TaskManager to switch to it so i can see the synchronise progress etc and was easily able to find this thread and make the registry tweak
I use CleanRam, and you can clean (stop) hidden programs using the Custom process function.

Thanks for the good info.
Hi everybody.
I posted this several times, but I had no answers.
I'm experiencing troubles loading Sense.
I've been experiencing this along releases, for about a year.
I flash and it works for about 3 months, then Sense does not load at startup.
During this year, I've been changing about all programs, and my pc's OS, I'm now on W7.
When Sense begins to not to load, I solve restoring on pda the Application Data directory from backup; then, it works several times, before to not to load again.
After each restore, I have to split and redo the partnership with my pc in order to sync it, otherwise it fails. I don't know, but the Sense failure might be related to the synchronization.
After tests, I think it's not related to installed software or to pc, it might be a trouble related to synchronization, but not itselves, probably because of some tweaks.
I'm using Microsoft Office 2010 on pc, and I use to sync contacts, calendar, tasks and Onenote, as I think everybody does, so I can't believe I'm the only one effected.
Well, I'm a system engineer, but I have only a little knowledge on WM.
So, would you please explain me how to troubleshot or fix?
I've been reading a lot, but I found no infos about troubleshooting.
As IT professionist, technology is for me a passion, I'll be glad to learn something about this.
Thanks everybody!
