mike
you are really funny!
Mr John-wu, i think your are the funny person here to post useless comments, forgive me if i had to read some of your posts.
Please respect the opinion of others.
I've been reading this forum over and over for quite a long time, everything on how to upgrade to WM6 is here but the steps on how to do it are not ordered. I still think that a more ordered topic on how to upgrade to WM6 must be made.
And please leave those kinds of comments fir some other forum.
Best regards.
Mr elFahd
I think:
Install this and then install this is pretty straight forward.
I am sorry, but if the instructions that are included with EVERY single rom release regarding what to do to install it are not clear enough (despite many other threads detailing the process) then you simply should not be undertaking the process!!!!!!!!!!!!

so you think so? let me explain you what i mean:
if mr. mladi really read many thread, then he surely knows that there are several types of wm6 rom and which is the latest. And if he already finds out that the roms still have some bugs, then he surely knows about all available rom! So why he asks for new rom??
And what about the subject of his thread "New WM6 Rom!" ? when i read such subject i expect another content in the thread, and not such useless questions.
i hope you understand and know why i find that he is really funny.
so just my 2 cents
John
i was thinking it was released a new wm6 rom.... but not... i full disagree with this new topic :s
Well that's the point John, there are so many roms to choose from and each has its fixes on a different thread,
which one *in your opinion* suits WM6 best? (that has minimal bugs)
can you please post the link.
and no i dont find difficulties understanding or flashing Roms.
Sad to observe that the Prophet forum lately became a bit let's say "chaotic". Used to be such a nice place where people enjoyed sharing there ideas and were simply happy to be among others with the same interest. But now with all the phone providers throwing out their xdas, mdas, pdas or whatsoever for free on the market everybody who finally lands here forgot that they are part of a contributing community. The hostility in the Prophet forum actually started with the appearance of the WM6 ROMs.
This forum is definitly lacking of moderators who once in a while restores the order

For now I would recommend to try out the PDAMobiz ROM 1.00. But always keep in mind that you lose your warranty and might risk destroying your pda for good
Poor choice for thread title..
And Maybe if he read the thread about John Wu's Rom and the pdamobwiz thread he would have answered his own question.
WTF...posting useless thread...wanna be 'KILLED'?
Why don't you modify the topic title?
When you are looking for a complete bug free ROM I think you will never be satisfied. There simply isn't one that is free of bugs. Some people get the idea that the ROM is free of bugs, but I guess that it depends on what features you use!
And now we are waiting for Smart1's two ROM's that are going to be released very soon. To bad I didn't find it in this thread, so please change the title for all XDA forum readers sake
lots of fire
Hey, hey guys!!!!!
Sorry for disturbing! I didnt mean to hurt yours filings, sorry about everything, yesterday i wont to upgrade my g4 to WM6 and i read everything about WM6 roms. But two hours i was reading posts and lots of people have problems with sound, mms, camera, bloototh, after they upgrade their prophet!
So, i realy wont to know, wich rom is the best? So if you can be so kind and tell me yours opinion? If somebody ask you, hey please tell me wich rom ''for you is the best''? and where I can download that rom, can you please give me the link? What are you gonna to say?
I am not so stupid that I cant see its copule of difrent roms here on portal...
Sorry ones again if somebody is disturbed with my Thread and question, it will never hapaned again...
mike
It's really personal what ROM to use. I would say Aserg's ROM is the best at the moment. But someone else would probably say that Smart1's WM6 ROM is the best.
So you really have to test the ROM's yourself and see wich bugs you can live with on your device, since not all bugs are the same
When you think you're not having any bugs at all you will be a happy person for sure
That's just because some people don't use everything on their device, and might find that they don't have any bugs on their ROM!

mine using Aserg aku 3.3
smart1 v2 is too often dead....
waiting for v3
i use both ... smart and aserg ... aserg ist for newcomer the best rom ever! only flash and change countrysettings and it works. smart is more a first working version. his cab install script doesnt work very well ... if you read all threads you can fix it. i think ... asergs lock better to ... i use smarts for future testing of incompatiblity ... have found two problems with the HTC task switcher and the checkpoint FW1 client for windows mobile.
I bought att tilt today and want to know what's the best rom so far for it
Thanks

wow a little harsh huh? why the sour response?
Well, Doug is probably coming from some other forum where a new "Which is the best ROM?" kind of post is started each week. It is a natural question, but it gets old after a while.
In the Hermes thread for example, there are multiple kitchens for making ROMs, so everyone and his brother are putting out new ROMs constantly that suit their needs. Asking which is the best is kind of like asking which restaurant is best in San Francisco. There are good ones and bad ones, cheap ones and expensive ones, it is all a matter of taste.
At this point though, with three or so cooked ROMs out for the Kaiser, I think it might be a valid question. Most knowledgable people will have tried all three and come to some sort of conclusion.
Yeah really ! why would this piss anybody off ?

Really, a good way to find out what's best (for you) is to try them out. I know, everyone says that. But they say it for a reason.
A great place to find out before flashing is to hop into the individual threads for the specific ROMS and read what's included in each and what comments (good and bad) have been posted. There's only a few ROMs out at the moment, so that won't be hard at all.
Usually when anyone starts a thread like this they just want someone to throw out an easy "The best ROM is...". I am personally using the HTC stock at the moment. I like it for now, others don't. So, you'll have to decide for yourself.
Have fun finding out!

My issue with the question is that if there truly was a "best ROM so far" available, it would be posted as such and probably stickied. The point is that there is no BEST, even with only 3 of them out there. Each is different.
I've tried all three ROMs and seem to be about the same. Only differences are the apps included, and storage space. Check them out and see for yourself.
Kaiser Roms, which is best?
I spent the last two days testing out all the variants of the ROMS out there, and there are pretty much only 4 English versions available.
Here you go, a nice summary of the results in one quick read, but i've not included the links to the files, some work for you
1. the stock HTC one - RUU_Kaiser_HTC_WWE_1.56.405.5_radio_sign_22.45.88.07_1.27.12.11_Ship.exe (uses WM6 CE OS 5.2.1620)
and then 3 or so (because he has sub versions to remove unnecessary programs) variants of the same ROM by Helmi:
2. helmi_Kaiser_1.57.000.1_AKU.0.7.0.Cooked.exe - a cooked version based on HTC WWE version but has newer WM6 CE base code (WM6 CE OS 5.2.1908)
3. Helmi_Kaiser_1.57.00.02_AKU.0.7.0.Cooked.exe - another cooked version of HTC_WWE version but has selectable "activator" directory of cabs that the user can install as desired. Also uses same WM6 CE OS 5.2.1908 as above.
4. Helmi_Kaiser_1.57.00.03_AKU.0.7.0.Cooked.exe - yet another flavour, but this one has virtually all extra programs removed in a good attempt at freeing up as much memory as possible, it also uses a newer version of WM6 CE OS 5.2.1921.
see Helmi's link for all the info. My hats off to you Helmi.
In the end, I decided to go with the standard version as released by HTC, as I didn't notice much of a difference myself. I have naturally upgraded various cabs and installed my ideal base set of apps to get the machine setup as I prefer. My decision to go this way was based on what I prefer and you should really try the ROMS yourself to make the correct decision, I didn't try every program with each version so perhaps i missed things.
I upgraded the Radio to version 1.27.12.17. -(this doesn't appear to make any difference to my terrible radio reception or the random dropping off of the radio link to GSM, neither does selecting the gsm option under band instead of auto). Thank god that I don't use 3G as there seems to be a real problem with the UMTS radio code. I just hope that I don't have a hardware fault, but I doubt it as numerous other people and links reflect similar issues to mine. We can only hope that HTC will release new RADIO code soon.
So, I wish you well in your endeavor to find "the perfect ROM".....
While I wouldn't have posted "best rom" question (as I agree, that is so subjective), that is a great help SAppie! Thanks!
Agree and Disagree
Not wanting to piss everyone off
I think the OP was requesting ROM test result and comparison, like SAppie comment, as I also agree there's no such thing as 'best ROM'.
Now, there're release with WM6.5 and others. Anyone can update this with newer ROM's comparison?
As a newbie in WM myself, some of the thread has 1000 pages .. to read all will be tough, but sometimes that's the only way. The FAQ and sticky is helpful as starting point for me ..
well i tried athineos os, hyperdragon III, life in 3d and now i will try 6.5 beta but so far the fastest is the athineos and it greaat
This is an old topic with no real constructive merit, so I'm closing it.
Perhaps this thread is what you're after: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=399510
Thanks

I'm looking for the best Rom for the AT&T Tilt. I love Dutty's Roms but I always have a problem with the keyboard after installing them. Also is there any way to boost the volume of the phone?

There is really no 'best rom' since its all about what you like. From the flashing I've done, all the xda chefs are unique and bring different styles to the tables...and they are all good at what they do! If you look in any of dutty's rom threads you'll find the answer to your keyboard issue btw.
Well, there are certainly many ROMs out there. I started out with the Dutty series as well and then went to XDA Live 2.0 which was fantastic. I then decided to try and cook my own ROM (just released a few minutes ago) and now i use that. As for the phone volume, look into SRS WOW HD.
I am sorry to tell you this but your question does not have a definitive answer. In other words, to each his own. The best advice I can give you is to read the first couple of posts for each rom thread. If it appeals to you, read more to see if there are any bugs that might pertain to you. If not, then flash it. Once you set the phone up and you decide that you do not like it, try another one until you find one that suits you. I have an AT$T Tilt and I have literally flashed every single rom thats released. Seriously, every one of them.
Welcome to XDA and rom flashers anonymous.
Thread Closed.
as the title says...?
I've been using Dutty's for the past few months, but it seems like ROMeOS is the best these days...
Probably the same one as the answer to the last time this question was asked... Oh, about 20 minutes ago. Please use the search. That's why it's there.
Seriously though, Best rom? Good question. Many are geared towards different ways of using the device. Best advice is to READ descriptions and threads like the rest of us and do your own research.

Agreed - when I got my TyTN II I also had the same question.
Well the answer is simple - LOTS OF RESEARCH!!!
there is not the best one in general, but one that fits your needs.
So please read description of each ROM

Like the others said - and it of course depends on your preferences (i.e. type of apps, performance, appearance, etc.)
A good rule of thumb (ALL NOOBS TAKE THIS HINT!!) would be to look at the postings for recent ROMS and see how many responses there are to the thread. It could be a red herring if there have been a few bugs, but generally it indicates a popular ROM and from reading (yes read the initial posts please!) you can quickly determine if this might be a ROM for you. The responses from users will highlight any issues that may be specific to the software you'd like to run.
Maybe the mods can close this now - or maybe create a "Which ROM should you flash - read this first" Sticky that paraphrases this to prevent this weekly question.
if you are looking for a multimedia ROM (stable) i suggest Dutty's April 29 ROM
if you are looking for fast and fancy ROM i suggest ROMEOS 3.5
here ya go
But still like said above it has to be a ROM that fits ur needs.
cheers
Find the Best Rom! Ask 10 cooks get 10 best Roms
First Hard SPL your phone find a rom offering. Read what others say about it, then if it sounds like something you might like, Flash it. Then try another and another and keep going until you can answer that question for yourself. READ! for your self and learn. The bottom line is the best rom is a myth! it only can be the best if you say it is so. What I believe to be the Best you might Flash and think it sucks. Do some work on your own and learn! WiKi, WiKi, WiKi!
Hyperdragon ..
You can try Hyperdragon. I have been running it for quite some time now and have found it to be very stable and without almost no glitches..
Best rom

for donation you can have a rom cooked to your own specs. Getting you the best rom!!!!!
Try ROMeOS V3.5
It's fast, stable and the support of Hang.Tuah is great.
These threads are popping up all over lately. Cany anyone do their own research anymore?
Is there a list of ROMs anywhere or can could people tell me what is available? I have spent hours and hours searching the Internet, searching this forum and I have only come up with a few and I know there has to be more than what I am finding.
The main reason I want different ROM is because I don't want my Tilt to lock up with my bluetooth anymore and hopefully my sound won't disappear making me reboot to get it back. Everything else is a bonus.
So any help is appreciated before I drive myself more insane than I already am.
(and no, I don't want to know which one is the best, I will figure that out on my own )
I really doubt you've searched, because there was a recent thread attempt to list them, and you'd have known about our WIKI.
We do not give out handouts. Put in the EFFORT.
Your phone shouldn't be locking up often with the stock ROM. If it is, there's probably something wrong with it or your bluetooth device or some crummy software you've got on it.

Put in the effort? I have been doing this for 3 days now and have been up until 2:00 in the morning trying to do all of this and I get a message like this? I have never had someone be like that to me on a forum. Unbelievable. Nothing like being helpful.
Please do me a favor and close this, I would rather spend my days searching instead of this crap.
I flash roms more often then a Trench-coat wearing man in a70's porno I normally end up on blackstone, PDA ultimate or the vista one all three IMHO are rock soild stable and feature packed if you read the wiki which is sticked at the stop of this forum you will learn all you need to learn about unlocking the wiki also contains the links to all the patched and bug fixes as well as a huge number of add-on's
Closed, follow suggestions, read the wiki for Kaiser it has a comprehensive list of avaliable stock & cooked Roms.
