Help!
2125 keeps rebooting with my SIM. If I remove the SIM, phone boots OK. If I put someone other's SIM, it boots OK and calls fine. If I put my SIM into another phone (Blueangel), it works fine, including data functions.
I flashed WM6 and was able to boot once and make a phone call. After that it rebooted in the middle of sending an MMS message and makes the same endless booting with the SIM in.
I noticed that the actual reboot happens when the phone sings that infamous GSM access interference crackling over my PC's speakers.
I am out of ideas at the moment - help!
Thank you!
More info: if I do not configure correct gprs connection, it works fine, but of course there is no data.
After getting a new 2125 the problem became clear - battery.
The battery was showing full bars but apparently dying whenever the current was demanded from it.

Hello all. It seems as though I've come across a pretty serious issue with my Dash 3G. I have been using Ookba's 3VOLUTION ROMs for some time now and over the weekend, my phone suddenly stopped being able to make/receive any calls. I re-flashed the phone to the latest 3VOLUTION ROM (04/10/10 build) and it hasn't fixed the issue. I've put the SIM into another phone and it works perfectly, so I know it's not a bad SIM card. I don't know of any software settings that can persist like this (after a ROM flash). Furthermore, why it happened suddenly is totally beyond me. Does anyone have any suggestions I can try? This is terrible timing as I just had a job interview and I need to keep my "ears open" for a possible callback.
Thanks guys!
Bump - anyone have any suggestions?
I have the same problem. I switched from my personal SIM to my work SIM (another provider) and now it looses the service contact after a few minutes.
I realized this happens when I have the data connection on and the GPS on at the same time. This happened to me the first few days with the original ROM too when I first got the phone. So when I use google maps or evernote with gps, the phone service shuts down. Weird.
Mine is the Ozone by VZW (CDMA) but after it was flashed to the 3VO ROM on WM6.5, I got errors on the GSM side when using the T-Mo prepaid Sim, data connection was turning itself off so I couldn't even access T-zone (which was working just fine earlier, already unlocked & running 6.5)
Took me a while to check, goggle & search - realized that some of the GRPRS & Proxy settings were locked by default to the VZW embedded Sim, and had to go into Connections & under Advanced (Menu - Right Soft Key)
to change it. Sort of tricky since the wap, mms & other settings were all set properly but it was easy once I changed it to T-Mo's proxy & WAP names as created. Same for using AT&T's MEdiaNet, as otherwise, as soon as the GSM network was found, data connection was turned off.
Take a look at yours and check the various Menus & Settings screen to see if it might've been reset to default, etc. etc.
Anyone Figure This Out?
Just happened to me this weekend (T-Mo Dash 3G). Simply stopped connecting to the network for voice or data. Worked fine on Saturday but dead Tuesday morning. Also running 3VOlution ROM. I called T-Mobile and we played with network settings, etc. but no luck. Tried a hard reset and that was no help.
Reset and rebooted countless times after changing any setting I could think of. Hopefully someone has figured this out or it looks like I'll be buying a new phone tonight.
Bad SIM ...

Was a bad SIM. I swapped mine for my wife's and the no signal followed my SIM. Dropped by T-Mobile this morning on the way to work and they gave me a new one free, no questions asked. Phone's back to normal.
Hi all, i'm currently on MIUI 1.8.26 but this started with 1.8.12 but i don't think the rom is the problem.
So in short, Tmobile gave me a new SIM for idk what reason. My phone just signal just stopped working so i had to get a new one, (there fault) now that i have the new one, everytime i turn on wifi or just after a short period of time i lose data and it doesnt come back. I have to pull battery and take out SIM card for 10 secs for it to return... any ideas?
You mean when you turn wifi on your 4g/2g icon disappears from the status bar?
yes that's what i mean. It just shows the bars. but my browser doesnt work or i cant send mms. basically no data...
Are you actually connected to a wifi network?
No i turn off the wifi to check if i have data but i dont. but yes i am connected to a network when it is on. But still this never used to happen until i got that new sim card...
Yea not sure. If it started when they replaced your sim card then I'd probably just go have them replace it again. In the mean time have you tried a hard reset to fix the connection issue? It might work and save you from having to take out the sim card each time. To hard reset you hold volume up + power for several seconds until the phone shuts off and reboots.
Finally someone has some answers I have been trying to find out what a hard reset is for a while and how to do it.
I AM having the same issue but instead ofwheni shut offwifi it happens when I shut off the phone. I installed EB 1.08 and it is giving me problems. Later I will try a hard reboot.
Hi guys,
I've tried searching but have not found the answer. I successfully rooted and loaded AOKP, as well as CM10 and one other ROM. On all of them, I can make calls and use wi-fi, but can't get mobile data. The signal bar shows "3G" and "H+" at times, but never turns blue when wi-fi is off. I've checked http://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-1976 (t-mobile site) which includes instructions on APN settings for data and picture mail, but that didn't seem to solve the problem. I've also tried turning Airplane Mode on and off, and I've done a factory reset and cleared Dalvik cache for each ROM. The SIM card is about 4 years old, if that matters.
Thanks a lot for the help!
Sounds like the sim card my sim card is less than a year old and randomly my phone doesn't have network and a message comes up and says to clean my simcard because its dirty or corrupt. So I turn my phone off take out the sim wipe it on my pants lol and insert it back in and its fine after that. I would get a new sim and try it out or use a friends sim and see if it works correctly if not then it sounds like the sim port on the phone itself.

My Motorola Milestone XT720 phone all of sudden crashed while charging last week. I eventually got it to recover and boot, but then it went extremely hot and shut down. After removing the sim and SD card, then rebooting it, the phone turned back on. I reinserted the sim, but it won’t connect to my mobile network or to a wi-fi network. I got Sim replaced from Wind mobile and it still wouldn’t work, but my sim works in a old phone.
The phone seem to search for the network and finds Wind and Wind Away, but it won’t connect to Wind Network and goes to emergency call mode only. At one point, it did find the Wind Away network and connected to data, but not the home network. I did a factory reset with no luck, then a manual reset and still wont connect to the network. Finally today I downloaded RSDLite and flashed an SBF, but it still won’t connect to a network.
I almost think the internal antenna doesn’t send out a signal, but am not sure what else I can do to test the phone.
Any ideas or suggestion on why it won’t connect to wind home?
Hey there,
Looks like the baseband (modem) in your phone is fried. Could you dial *#06# and check if it appears 15-digit number ? Your best bet would be to flash stock rom with rsd lite and then wipe through stock recovery.
Hope it helps.
Hi!
My girlfriend (who is forever having problems with phones) just bought a Nexus 5 after her Galaxy S2 spontaneously gave up on life, but despite showing a full signal it seems to be unable to connect to a network (it's supposed to be on the UK's Orange network). When it first started up she said it had a screen saying something like 'activate data services', but that after 10 minutes or sitting on that screen and apparently stuck, she skipped it. The phone is showing a full strength signal, but no calls/texts or data works.
We've been unable to get back to that screen, even after doing a factory reset with/without the SIM inserted.
Anyway, I figured it was an APN issue, so I've tried setting it up for her, but whenever I create a new APN and try to save it, it just disappears and loses all of my settings. I've had a look around XDA and it seems a few others have been having the same issue, but nobody I've seen has posted a fix. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Tried it with my SIM in her phone and it works fine, so I guess it's a SIM issue. Sorry about that. She can call the phone company tomorrow.
