Regedit hack to force UMTS/HSDPA - Palm Treo 750

hey guys
i know i've seen this thread somewhere here before but i can't seem to find it... can someone give instructions on how to force my Treo 750 to only use the UMTS/HSPDA band? i ask because if i ever roam onto an EDGE or GPRS band my data charges are extremely expensive (3 Australia).
thanks!!
forgot to add that i'm using the ATT WM6 ROM... is that as simple as just going into the band selection and selecting UMTS in the network type? What about the GSM/UMTS band? does that need to change?

Menu (right soft key)-> Pref-> Phone Settings-> Band Selection Tab-> Choose your settings.

Cingular ROM issues

Loaded the cingular Rom onto the 750V and found the following bugs (looking for a little help?)
1. When using VJToggleToday_Hiding_Bottom (great program) after I receive a call the "answer" / "menu" display wont go away.
2. You cant use .wav files as your ringtone
3. Someone how the Palm software overrides the soft key edits of 112 and 113(these are even changed in the cingular rom but ineffective)
4. Cant hide the cingular carrier and search for name or number w/o severely hampering phone functions.
and Im sure they will keep on coming for anyone interested in debugging this thing...
thanks in advance,
mike
Does the Cingular ROM take away network/band selection in the settings menu?
Thanks...
there is a choice to select network type:
Auto
GSM UTMS
there is a second choice to select your gsm/utms band:
Auto
GSM (900 +1800) + UMTS 2100
GSM (1900 + 850) + UMTS (1900 +850)
hope that helps
Cingular ROM for 750v
Do you still have the Cingular ROM for the 750v? I've been searching everywhere for it. Anything would be an improvement over the radio that came with it. Thanks in advance for any help you could provide.

Enabling "Band" Phone Settings Tab on Rogers iPAQ 910

I've been trying to find a way to disable 3G on my new HP iPAQ 910c I got through Rogers Wireless a few weeks ago. I find the battery drains pretty quickly on the phone, and from what I've read forcing it down to GSM when I don't need the 3G speed will help that alot.
My problem is that when I go to the Phone Settings, there's no "Band" tab in which to designate that I want to limit to GSM. From everything I've read the tab *should* be there, but it's not. What tabs are there are the following:
Phone
Security
Services
Network
TTY
PIN2
AOC
More
Doing some searching, I came across this post from last year that addressed a similar issue with an HTC Diamond on the Rogers network.

Just want to share this. But I'm pretty sure this has been tackled in the forums already.
Rogers branded HTC Diamond doesn't have the option to turn of 3G through band selection. I found this registry hack to enable band selection and now I can turn 3G off.
Rogers default registry - OFF
[\HKLM\Software\OEM\PhoneSetting\]
"ShowUMTSBandPage"=dword:0
Registry tweak to enable band changes
[\HKLM\Software\OEM\PhoneSetting\]
"ShowUMTSBandPage"=dword:1
Now you can go to >start>settings>phone>band tab and change band settings to your choice. I switched mine to just use GSM instead of auto which always connects on 3G.

The issue with that suggested fix is that I don't have a "PhoneSetting" key under \HKLM\Software\OEM (or anywhere for that matter) on my iPAQ. I tried adding it, and then adding the "ShowUMTSBandPage" dword, but that didn't seem to have any effect (even after a soft-reset).
If anyone has any ideas on how I can enable the Band phone settings tab, or otherwise turn off 3G on occasion on my phone, it'd be greatly appreciated.
This one time, at band tab...
try DHR Bandswitch
Thanks. I installed it and it seems to kindof work. I've posted my questions about it in the Bandswitch thread.
Congrats.

Selecting 3G band

Hi everyone,
I have a strange problem with my Sensation. I'm not sure what spec it is.
Here is the issue.
When I go into *#*#4636#*#* -> Phone information -> Menu -> Select band
I have 3 options: EURO, AUTOMATIC (DEFAULT), USA
My provider uses 2100Mhz as 3G frequency. When I leave the setting at default i get very slow speed, less than 1Mbps if I switch it to EURO I get 6.5Mbps. Leaving it in EURO setting also kills all the 2G frequency except 900Mhz, so roaming in the USA was not possible. I had to switch the phone to USA, then it's no problem.
My question: Why can't I change the 3G band in the normal menu? Is there a way to do this? Or do I always have to go to the special menu?
Why leaving it at AUTOMATIC gets my so slow speed?
Hope someone can help.
Thanks!

[Q] How to change RAT status for band selection?

I am using a UC-series ROM (recently UCKK4). It automatically selects band. It is not stable and is weak. I inspect the band selected for me: it is WCDMA 1900. Actually, the best band is GSM 850 in my area. When I use engineering mode *#2263# to select the band, I got "RAT Selection Option is Restricted!".
Do you know how to change RAT status? How to set the band to GSM 850?
Note: The method given in "Get Around "RAT SELECTION RESTRICTED" on i897 modems" (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1189241) is not recommended since it may burn SIM card (some users already pointed out this).

[Q] Can't change band frequency. Why?

I'm from Brazil and 3G signal from my carrier is really poor at my home.
So my phone keeps switching between frequencys every time and it causes instability on my signal.
I'd like to change my band to use only 850Mhz like I did in my old Samsung device in order to solve my problem, but when I type *#*#4636*#*# and go to Phone Info > Menu Button > Radio Band Selection there's no options to pick. Why? How to solve this?
Use an application called phone testing in the playstrore
KitKat slo"g" slide
