you can get freeware ftp servers for your pc, that might get you transfering files, but as the others are saying, not sure its possible.

Yes, so it's not possible to transfers files other wifi without use of TFTP.

Internet sharing cab file?

Does anyone know if you can get a cab file or if there is a registry tweak to restore internet sharing (pan) to WM 6. I have a pre release kaiser that has wmodem but no internet sharing and I cant get dun to work properly to tether to my laptop for internet. I thought wm 6 came standard with internet sharing so I dont know if it's hidden (registry tweak) or if it's been taken off the rom and there is some way to restore it. Any help would sure be appreciated. Thanks
Try this.. unzip it and copy the 2 files into your widows directory on your phone. then create a shortcut icon in Windows>Start Menu>Programs
That worked! You the man. Thanks so much for the help.
you're welcome
wm5?
Is there an internet connection sharing for WM5?
I have a Softbank X02HT Windows Mobile Smartphone Edition (same as HTC Cavalier / Dopod C730) with crippled Internet Sharing.
I tried this cab file which would open the UI but would show blanks for the Internet and local connections. I managed to pull off the intshrui and intshrui.dll files from a Samsung Blackjack, and now it shows connections and I can actually establish a connection - but when I connect my PC to it, it fails to get an IP address.
Does anyone know which other files are being used by Internet Sharing? Which other files beside intshrui.* do I need to copy from the BlackJack, or if it is even possible?

Same problem here. Maybe the .dll file is carrier specific. A stretch but I can't think of any other reason why this doesn't work.
X02HTC help

i am thinking of getting a x02ht but i am not sure if it is possible to unlock the device so i can use it with other carriers? is there a way to flash it but still be able to use japanese and softbank services like sms/mms? (and mobile mail). would be great if somebody could direct me to a threat/link where i can find a bit more info about this.
cheers,
joma
There are no threads. We are asking for a Cavalier forum but nobody is doing any yet.
Internet connection sharing
I downloaded the internet sharing files, but when I run the program on my Samsung Blackjack II the "PC Connection" and "Network Connection" fields are empty and it does not let me change it.

Share folder from Pocket PC on the network (WiFi)

Is there any application that will allow you to create a network shared folder on your pocket PC?
So while connected via WiFi I could just drag and drop files or better yet auto sync from my PC when I connect via WiFi?
Later, Lew

Nope; the OS doesn't support this.
However, there are soem ways:
1. Bluetooh FT if you have "real" WM6 with the MS BT astack already supporting File Transfer (not only Obex).
2. FTP server. Unfortunately, the only FTP server I
know of, vxFtpSrv ( http://www.cam.com/vxftpsrv.html ) is commercial - so
is their TFTP server ( http://www.cam.com/vxtftpsrv.html ).
3. If you plan to access it from a desktop, use for example SOTI
Pocket Controller either, which also has built-in file transfer
capabilities - over TCP/IP.
As far as Bullet 3 is concerned, also take a quick look at my remote control / p2p articles (for example,
http://www.pocketpcmag.com/blogs/index.php?blog=3&p=514&more=1&c=1&tb=1&pb=1
,
http://www.pocketpcmag.com/blogs/index.php?blog=3&p=2109&more=1&c=1&tb=1&pb=1
etc.) .
All though that is bad news (I have been searchign for a while, so I kinda expected that it had not been done) I appreciate the response.
I also read your articles about remote control. I have run SOTI's enterprise ppc manager and I like it. The connection was not very stable but that coul dhave been many things.
I will probably build another test server with it and see if my idea will work using SOTI.
Thanks, Lew
although rescofile explorer shows your desktop or laptops shared folders under network folder with proper password and user name and can copy paste(259kbps on 54mbps card) or play videos from shared folder of your laptop on to your pocket pc. it think it is shareable too but can't figure out ,you can also check this out

oh man i wish you were wrong
i guess the only solution left is by using some kind of a vnc server
though i am not sure on how to use one..
1. Establish adhoc connection between smartphone and laptop. I don't rnow how to do it exactly as I don't have another wi-fi enabled device.
2. Start ftp-server on smartphone. Only in russian http://board.riot.ru/27-smartfony/13312-smartftpserver-ftp-server-dlya-smartfonov.html
3. Acces it via ftp://smartphone's-ip:21
4. Profit
frankly that is pathetic! Microsoft is retarded! My ipaq 1945 could do that!
Sorry for my bad english. I see some posts in another forum where peoples get some dll from pocket pc firmware and put it in windows folder. And in explorer add folder Network Neiborhood. All works correct.

I'm specially interested in this issue. I really would like to make my device discoverable and able to share files with other systems, like other desktops do.

Wouldnt be easier to just drag them to your SD card?
If its only not heavy weight documents also you can send them to your email account and then download them on your pda
Sadly the Northwood trashcan i use at work doesn't have a card reader , And it still means reams of plugging and unplugging every day im looking for something like FTP or folder sharing for WinMo
buy a 15$ bluetooth dongle and plug it to your work pc.. then you can send whatever you want straight up.
oh.. and you can also set up an ftp connection on your ppc (you'll need to search in the forum to find support for ftp on ppc connection... which i've discussed just recently in the Q&A section).. if your work has wi-fi

If you have a WHS Homeserver try WHS Mobile

Version 1.5.3 works perfect on my HP HX4700 WM6.5.

I use Total Commander
Moved as not software release.
iv managed to use resco explorer and it allows me to access the network shares on my windows server 2003 machine, but only drawback is that i have to map to the shared drives manually before i can browse the shares.
