Hey i used WM 6 built in password protection then i removed it and set its password to none when i turned off my mobile and turned on not it asks for password. When i leave the place blank and press unlock it refreshes the screen and if i type any previous password it says password u typed is incorrect is there any way to remove the password except reinstalling the windows. Plz help me!!
Thnx in Advance!!!
Hard Reset
a hard reset should get rid of that, but it will restore everything like a fresh install, as far as i know...a search for password unlocking might help...
Thnx.

Hello,
I had a problem with my Motorola Xoom WiFi.
My girlfriend was playing with my tablet and couldn't guess my login pattern.
Unfortunately sign in via Google account did not worked and WiFi network was turned off, in Airplane mode!!
So I am looking for way how to unlock it without root access>> is that possible ?
How often did she try? You should be able to wait a little while and then enter the correct pattern. There's also a way to unlock the xoom without knowing the pattern or google account, but no one on this forum is gonna help you with that ('cause we can't be sure that it really is your xoom;-) )
So just try to wait a little while until you can enter the pattern again or try to reboot, maybe the pattern will appear again after that...

Do you have adb debugging enabled? I think you can change the wifi state in adb shell....

is it a dead end!!
I really just can't do hard reset, with no way of extraction for my data (it's 20g out of32)!
So >> Is there any new idea please !
Heeeeeeelp~!
You may need to fully wipe it.. you'll lose your data. This can be done through a connected PC.
Revert to the out-of-box state (stock/locked). There are many threads on this.
Or follow instructions here (you may need to register): MotoDev
Load up MZ604 Wifi (HWI69) - and go back through setup.
Once you enter your Google account - it will download your software and reload your wifi settings, etc.. Then let it go through the various OTA updates through ICS 404.
You'll have to redo your screens - but you'll get back a working Xoom.

would unlocking the bootloader ( which wipes the device) do it ?
Did you try contacting Motorola?
I read that the stock recovery is messed up. If you want to factory reset then chose the option above, ie the text you see in the menu does not align with the actual option that will be chosen.

thanks for reply guys,
I dont want to unlock the bootloader as it voids the warranty.
I contacted Motorola, but no reply.
Is there any other way to factory reset this device?
BTW Happy New Year to all
Did you read my post just above yours? You use the stock recovery, just highlight the option ABOVE the option you actually want within the recovery.
cheers mate!

GO on google android/devicemanager
with u gmail account
click lock enter new password (must be letter and number) your phone lock again but now ask for password you provided to account
done.
Do you need Android Device Manager on the phone itself to work?
A few months ago while I was visiting family my cousin decided to lock me out of my phone by putting in the wrong pattern 30 times. I was then asked to provide my Gmail account and password to unlock it. However, when I input my Gmail account and password it says "Invalid username or password". I wasn't able to do much searching there since their internet was very unstable and rarely worked, so now that I'm back I checked and the Gmail account and password that I entered are correct, it just happens to not work on my phone. My WiFi and data off too, so that could be the reason why it's not verifying it.
When I turn off my phone and turn it back on while pressing the volume up button it does say that it's on fastboot mode and that it's unlocked. Not sure if there's any other information that I can provide that will be helpful. I really want to access my phone again without having to factory reset it since I've a lot of pictures that I haven't saved and I don't want to lose all my contacts again (not sure when I last backed up my phone or if I have ever backed it up).
Try this.

Thank you for the link. I tried both methods posted on there but it didn't work. when I typed adb shell it would say device not found. I believe my USB debugging is turned off.
If you have a custom recovery then you can try the same commands.
If you have an unlocked bootloader, then flash a custom recovery and give it a go.
Sent from my Nexus S using Tapatalk
I went into bootloader mode and selected recovery.. but that didn't do much. it just showed an android with a red triangle and an exclamation mark inside of it. Then it went back to asking for a gmail account and password.
I'm trying to flash a custom recovery but its still not working. I was using this site for guidance http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-s/general/nexus-s-guide-unlock-bootloader-root-t2034264 but in the "early necessary requirements" it says that USB debugging should be enabled.. which it isn't for me.
I tried using all 3 commands but all I get is "waiting for device" and nothing happens after that.
Hi, device is encrypted. I was asked password instead pattern first. I found out how to get out of this, then reset my pattern. Aftrr reboot I'm asked a pattern but entering mine doesn't work.. I'm stuck! Isn't there a way to get out of this apart factory reset?

This is for UNencrypted devices with DATA accessible.. :/
I have acquired a Panasonic ToughBook as part of a business deal. When the unit is switched on it says "To Start Android, enter your password". I don't have any access to passwords, PINs or Patterns.
I tried to perform a factory reset using Power + Volume Up. I get the Android Recovery menu and I select wipe data/factory reset, it then asks me to confirm, I select yes, and then I am asked for a password again. Usually, I can just reset an Android without a password from here.
Any suggestions on how to bypass the Boot Up password or the Factory Reset password would be appreciated.
TIA

So simple, worked a treat. Thank you!
I have same issue with Panasonic FZ-N1. Asking for password for factory reset.
The link provided above does not open for me.
Can you provide new link or information how to bypass password.
