Code/app to identify new incoming email, vibrate phone - General Topics

As you may know, the Wizard seems to have a bug (for me and some others at least) where it does not vibrate on new incoming email. It works fine for calls and text messages, and it is NOT a configuration problem.
Can anyone recommend an app (or code I could use to build an app) to detect a new incoming email and vibrate the phone myself?

For incoming email (even incoming call or sms) see

There are many samples there I won't paste redundant information here again.

Thanks radhoo. From my brief initial view it looks like they've got some interesting and complicated stuff!
Anyone else got a suggestion?

Call and Text Message Log to Calendar

I want to log all my calls and text messages, both incoming and outgoing, to my calendar for sync with Outlook.
I know of Call Calendar and Phone Log, but the former only logs calls, not text messages. Phone Log only logs incoming text messages, not outgoing texts, and logs calls without specifying who initiated the call.
Anyone know of a solution to logging all calls, with call initiation specification, and logging all texts, both incoming and outgoing?
Anyone care to develop an app for this? I would gladly pay.
Thanks.
i like this idea but it difficulty work for new app .
Moved as not software release.

What the hell is wrong with Android's Call Logs :P

You can't view all your received, missed, and dialed calls? You can only view, all your logs including texts, or ONLY one of the above three, in addition to sent messages or received messages.
I don't need this feature at all, but, it seems really poorly done.

[Q] Two Generic Android Questions - Advice Please!!

What can I do with THESE Android-specific issues?
1. Mass Texts. If I send three of my friends a text, it goes into a thread with all three of their names on it and a group icon as the contact. Bizarre! On other phones (my old Touch Pro) it updated each person's message threads with the individual text. What is the deal with Android?
2. Pushing the Phone button, I got "Keypad, Logs, Favourites, and Contacts". First I might say that "Favourites" is interesting because no where else on my phone does it use British English. I wish it did, but oh well. Anyway, Logs displays everything my phone has done, and half the time the people's pictures disappear from it. You CAN filter the logs, but only by "Missed Calls, Dialled Calls, Received Calls, Sent Messages, Recieved Messages." I want to sort them by All Calls, and no messages.
Now, under Contacts, I have a "History" tab, where I can view my logs for Calls, Messages, Emails, IMs, Facebook, Myspace, and Twitter." That will display what I want. Why is that tab not identical to the one under the Phone button? How do I remedy this problem?
Thank you for your help anyone who reads this and have a Happy New Year!!

[Q] Google Voice taking over texts

I got a bit of a serious issue.
Sprint is obviously GV integrated now. I'd like to keep GV for my voicemails, but its also taking over my texts.
At one point, I had the app installed and set to not bother me and notify the regular messaging app of texts. I have a privacy box setup w/ the regular SMS app so this was not OK. Also, it didn't forward texts to regular SMS a lot of times. I would miss peoples text and I find myself checking voice.google.com manually knowing it may not have come through to the regular SMS app.
I figure, oh well, I'll just listen to VMs through gmail. I deinstalled the app. And unchecked everything possible in voice.google.com settings for texts. Yet it is still happening.
No GV on my phone. Yet, both incoming and outgoing texts are in voice.google.com. Sometimes I'll send a text, be expecting a response and it never comes. I check voice.google.com and it is there.
Is it even possible to exnay Google Voice from my texts and keep just voicemail? Or do I have to switch voicemail providers?
Edit: CRAP!!!! Now I have a *86 voicemail notification that I can't clear!
and.. figured it out. ... thx for looking
The only way to correct all of these errors you're experiencing is to undo your Sprint/GV integration. You can make this change via voice.google.com. You will also want to make sure that you disable forwarding to your mobile number via the website, so that when your phone forwards calls to voicemail, your phone doesn't end up going through two ring cycles for a call you don't want to/can't answer.
From what I understand in your post, you want to have Google Voice handle Voicemail, but have everything else handled via the standard apps on the phone. In order to do this, you want re-install the app on your phone and skip the integration option that Google Voice presents to you during the initial setup of the app. Also make sure to choose not to have Google Voice make any calls, and then set it up to handle your voicemail.
The way this works is that your calls and texts go to your Sprint number, (which will no longer be integrated with Google Voice.) The text messages will feed straight into the standard SMS app. Calls will route normally, but if you send the call to VM or it rings enough times to send to VM, the call will forward to your GV number which will be acting merely as a voicemail box. The caller will leave a message and it will notify you. Now, if you have done the OTA ICS update, you can set up Google Voice to integrate even better and show the VM's in the call log, removing your need to go into the GV app at all. I hope this helps. Good Luck!
Edit: You posted that you'd figured it out while I was writing my post. I'm glad you figured it out, but I'm going to leave this up anyway for people who run into the same issue.

[Q] Voice+ and Hangouts Double Messages Switching Between Data and WiFi

Hi Everyone,
I hope someone could point me in the right direction or has experienced this and solved it. I did a search but couldn't find a similar issue.
First, I've experienced this issue on DroidKang, one other ROM which I'm forgetting at the moment, and now SOKP. The Google Voice app is configured to receive messages via the messaging app (Hangouts) and Voice+ is activated (it routes all outgoing SMS/MMS messages using your Google Voice number no matter the messaging app).
- Like the title of the thread, when I switch between WiFi and Data connections, a whole stream of Hangouts SMS messages comes in that I had already received before switching over.
- If I continue that Hangouts SMS conversation for a bit and then switch back, all of those messages from the continued Hangouts SMS conversation will again stream back in.
- I end up having two entries in the Hangouts conversations list, one from the correctly named person, the other from a random number but the SMS text is prefaced by their actual name.
I really like the ability to use Hangouts for SMS but require to use my Google Voice number in order to do so.
I'm not being too hopeful but maybe someone else has experienced this?
