Is there a way to have Htc Mogul applications for wizard - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario ROM Development

Can we use the camera app. from the mogul on htc wizards? Also I notice three different applications on the Mogul that no one has tried yet on wizards. The audible air, the audible palyer, and the slide out keyboard ringer (plays sounds when you slide out your keyboard )

the audible stuff is junk. The other two, to my knowledge, are hardware dependent.

Well when I check out the Mogul, the camera hardware button was in the same location as the t-mobile mda. Just wondering if we had the 2.0 megapixel camera app. that it wouldn't have to be remapped.

Changing Phone/Dialer Application

Hello,
I´m trying to change Phone/Dialer application that is set by default in Cruise because of compatibility problem with internal or front speaker.
I don’t known if it is possible or the way to do it.
Can somebody help me, please?
Thanks in advance.
Exactly what is the compatibility issue that you're having with the default dialer skin on the Cruise? Are you sure the dialer is the source of whatever speaker issue you might be having?
Aside from the serious lag when painting the dialer I haven't heard/seen any problems with the dialer.
Many times, when receiving or making phone calls, internal or front speark don’t works. I have read others users with the same problem:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=381610
But, when making or receiving a call, if you press several times external speaker or hands free button on display, it will work again.
I have note that this happen when you are working with an application that uses only external speaker (for example Tom Tom, Compe Pocket, etc.). I suppose that this application mutes or shutdown internal or front speaker and Cruise´s phone/dialer application don´t make it works again. But, pressing several times that display bottom it works again.
I am looking for another software for Calling or handling Cruise´s phone in order to test this theory.
Yeah i saw your post in the other thread. i have not had that problem. did you try stopping all other applications to see if when they are killed they release the front speaker?

Recording conversations...can or cannot??

Hello,
Is there an app that lets u record incoming / outgoing conversations or use as a recorder in general? It can be activated manually and mapped to a key or something?
Yes before you tell me to search I got this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=421652 but this doesnt really help. I found "Resco Audio Recorder" but doesn't look all that good (http://www.resco.net/pocketpc/audiorecorder/default.asp), does anyone have recommendations?
Freeware is best but if its really good, i gues I can pay for it.
thanks

I'm not sure why you thought the Resco Audio Recorder "doesn't look all that good." I use it on my 8525 (still waiting for the Fuze) with very good results. It has a lot of capabilities -- you can record fairly high fidelity to MP3, for instance, or get really compact voice recordings using the Speex format (there are other supported formats, too); it's got built-in digital signal processing for automatic volume control and noise reduction; voice-activated recording; smart display-blanking to save battery; bookmarks in recordings; etc., etc. It's a really nice, capable application, and it's hard to imagine what else one might want or need in a recorder.

The Resco recorder does record both sides of a conversation, but only on phones that make the incoming side available; it's my understanding from the responses in that thread (which I initiated, BTW) that the Touch Pro is not one of those phones. (I'll be checking that out for myself very shortly after I get my Fuze, hopefully within the next week.) I don't think that's any different from any other recorder software that's available.
It can be set up to record conversations automatically or at the press of a button (although I'm not sure how well that will work with the Touch Pro, as buttons are in very short supply), and it will record both sides of the conversation if you are using the speakerphone. And for all other uses (lectures, concerts, dictation, etc.) it's very nice. It's just a hardware limitation, not a software problem, that prevents use of the recorder for capturing the incoming side of normal phone conversations.
thanks friend... I'll do more research before I act... if by that time u have tested it out, do let me know. thanks v much~! u've been a super help.
Well, if you use the speaker phone the integrated note function can take audio recordings as well though the sound is not very good. It also works on normal phone calls, but the remote side is at very low volume.

I downloaded the trial for "Audio Notes".
Working great so far. Records both ends of the conversation on both incoming and outgoing calls. Also takes memos through either mouthpiece or speakerphone.
You can tell it what quality you want to record and where to record to.
It also labels the recording according to the name of the person you talked to.
Good stuff.
This is Vito AudioNotes you are referring to? If so, that's great to hear; it's a bit bare-bones compared to Resco, but it's inexpensive. If both-sides recording works with Vito, that means it probably would with Resco, too, but if not, I'm willing to pay for both use Vito for phone recording and Resco for everything else. Thanks for the info!

Just to clearify, does it work on "the usual conversations" I mean, the normal way u talk on the phone, NOT speakerphone?
Cause we all know there's quiet a few sw that works in speakerphone mode and that simply doesn't cut it.
It MUST work when u are using it "normally"
Yeah. It's vito audio notes 1.32
It works with normal (non speaker phone) phone calls.
Actually, I'm not sure if it works with speakerphone too.. I haven't tried that yet. Will do that in a bit to make sure.
What's better about Resco? *edit: nevermind. I just looked at the screenshots of resco audio recorder. It does look nicer. Has more features too... But honestly... the vito program is really nice, and simple to use.
By the way. I'm using the Sprint Touch Pro... so I can't say for sure whether or not this prog works with the other versions. Either way, there's a free trial you can use... so no harm in trying it out first.

Abd again, there's a free trial of it... so nothing's lost if it doesn't work for you.

is working for me so far.

Yeah, same here, thx for the tip!
BTW, just a quick Q: I doesn't have that annoying "beep" every now and then? So the person at the other end can here that you're recording?
I also have a Sprint Touch Pro and after reading this thread, I downloaded a trial of Vito 1.32 to give this a try.
Just as background, I'm a former Treo user (Palm OS) and the hardware supported recording of both sides of a phone conversation in very clear audio. This was most evident when listening to recordings (on a headset), one side of the conversation is heard in the left ear and the other in the right ear.
Now as for Vito on the Sprint Touch Pro, here's what I've observed:
When using the the phone normally (i.e. holding the device to your ear), the software does record both sides of the conversation. It does so in a manner that plays both sides of the conversation back in the left ear (when wearing headphones). My opinion is that the loudness of the earpiece allows this software to record the "other end" of the call in a manner similar to the "speakerphone method". The quality of the "other end" of the conversation is significantly lower than my end of the conversation. So it would seem that the hardware on the Touch Pro doesn't completely support this. Another indicator of this is that it only records my end of the conversation when I record a call using the included HTC headset.
So the verdict is that it does work, but I still think there's a hardware obstacle. I'm a headset kinda guy, so I guess I'm out of luck. Hope this helps.
That's not good.
I'll probably be getting a stereo bt headset soon, so that's going to be a problem.
Too bad there's no individual (in/out) volume control...

Thx for your input m8!
So I suppose it won't work with a bluetooth headset neither.
Anyway, I'm glad it works without(?) beeps in the normal mode, in that case you'll have the time to snap off the headset if you see that the incomming call is from that person you'd like to record.
well phonecalls come through in mono, so i cant imagine it working through both speakers

Custom shutter sound for pocket pc?

I was looking around for this and didn't find it so I'm chancing it and asking here...I was just having this phone smackdown with a co-worker of mine between my at&t tilt and his lg dare...I outsmacked him on most parts except for one...Is there any cab out there that can cusomize the shutter sound when you press the camera button? I just was a bit "hmmmed..." when he had the "ready!1-2-3" and "say cheese"...Thanks...

[Q] Camera tick sound?

Does anyone of your NS make 'tick' sound? For example, when I capture a QR code, it makes very brief 'tick' sound. It's not the camera shutter sound. I can tell the difference...
I think there were few more instances where my NS makes tick sound but I can't recall.
it is app related, the barcodescanner makes an other sound than the camera app

I use Google Goggles. Would it be the same reason?
I think I had an instance with Google Camera app too. I can't recall though.
I honestly thought my camera didn't make such noise until few days back. I had this phone for more than 3 months now..
I've heard my Nexus S 'tick' after using Google Goggles but it doesn't happen all the time. Used to get it with my old SGS, too.
Only happens with Google Goggles though so its probably app related.
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA Premium App
This tick sound is the mechanical focus mechanism of the camera lense. It continuously focuses from macro to infinity to reset in one short moment.
As hardly any application focuses repeatedly, except for let's say barcode readers, you won't hear that ticking in the standard camera app.
In a couple of days since buying my NS (9023) I noticed this click noise coming from the camera and quickly discovered it was from the camera's macro-to-infinity focus switch mechanism. The thing I would like to know if this happens to everybody else or is my NS "special" in some nasty way.
Also, sometimes after taking a macro pic the camera app gets stuck on displaying the picture taken without going back to the live-view camera screen to take the next picture. The only solution out of this is pressing the home button which makes the same clicking noise as above but louder. This makes me think that the macro switch mechanism inside the camera hardware gets stuck somehow.
Should I send it to be repaired? :-|

[APP] Earpiece: boost audio, play through earpiece

I wanted an app to play audio through a phone earpiece, so that if I didn't take my headphones somewhere, I could still listen to an audio book as if I was on the phone. So I made a very simple app that toggles whether sound comes from the earpiece or the speaker: Earpiece.
Currently alpha, or maybe early beta, quality. Works on my Epic 4G Touch. Don't know how many other phones it'll work for. (Interestingly, I also noticed that if I have earphones plugged in and I select earpiece mode, then the volume goes up a little. I am curious if this happens for other users)
I also wanted an app that would let me boost the audio volume, so I added that functionality to Earpiece while I was at it (Android 2.3+ only, should work even on devices like tablets that don't have an earpiece). I know there are such apps (Volume+ seems to be the most popular one), but why have a separate app for this?
You can set Earpiece to show up when you long-press the search key. (I don't use this feature myself. Instead, I have another simple app that pops up a menu of my favorite apps when I long-press the search key, and I use that to launch Earpiece.)
Free and open source (BSD license).

With what settings in Earpiece?
I would expect the Boost setting to interfere with DSP Manager, since both apps would be trying to do the same thing.

Here's how I test. I start an audio book playing in Mortplayer, and then go to Earpiece, and toggle the Earpiece checkmark.
Clever idea, thanks!

It looks like the person on the other end of the line is just talking your ear off and not letting you get a word in.
Question: Should I activate the proximity sensor in Earpiece mode, and turn the device screen off and on based on closeness to the face?

Can you send me a log after the crash? Install Log Collector, then do the crash again, and then go to Log Collector to email the log to arpruss at gmail dot com.

Noticed that the "Volume up/down" beeps don't get routed through earpeace, which is fine with me. Probably, because it's not a media volume sound?

You mean, for greater volume?
I doubt it, but I can experiment and see. Might actually be hard to tell if it's working, because the earpiece speaker will be drowned out by the main speaker.
I just posted 0.03.
It switches to the earpiece using a slightly different method. I'd appreciate reports whether it works for people.
By the way, no luck routing audio to BOTH the speaker and the earpiece at the same time.
I posted a release in the Market.
The release version carries one text ad on the screen, for my paid products. If the ad annoys you, just buy any of my paid products and the ad will disappear. Or just use a pre-release version.
Cool thing I found. If you turn on Earpiece while in Camera, the camera sound gets routed to the earpiece, and hence is very quiet, at least in my Epic 4G Touch.
(I know there are root-based solutions to the camera sound issue, but I haven't rooted my phone yet--I haven't found a way to do it that's both safe and doesn't involve copyright problems, like downloading unauthorized copies of parts of ROMs.)
I posted 1.01 in the Market and on the google code page. If you press MENU, you can go to Settings and select whether you want the status bar notification always, only when the background service is running, or never. The "never" is attractive if you don't like clutter, but unfortunately it allows the OS to kill Earpiece's proximity sensor and boost features (they need the background service) when the OS runs out of memory. Still, it's up to the user.
I am kind of excited by my discovery that earpiece mode makes the camera sound come out of the earpiece and hence be very quiet. I've experimented some more, and when I combine this with a negative volume boost, I can make the camera sound almost inaudible--probably inaudible to anybody more than two feet away except in an almost perfectly silent environment. Of course, for rooted devices there are ways of turning it off entirely, but I don't have root, and I want to be able to take pictures without disturbing people.
