SKSchema - Ring option not working - General Topics

Hi,
I'm trying to make an Answering Machine with SKSchema as described here: http://pdaphonehome.com/forums/ppc-...c-other-possibilities-skschema-check-out.html
The problem is that on the "Watch", Phone, on event Ring the ring number is not working. Do u know if there is any bug with version 1.1.7
If there is any other way to do an answering machine, please...
Best Regards.

Do you mean the caller ID function?
I am trying to use SKSchema too so it will pick up and enter a few numbers, but only if certain numbers call me (the front gate to my home). If you come up with anything, please let us know. I am really starting to like SKSchema but the documentation needs to be updated.

Display diverted call

Hi,
Normal mobile phones show an indication when you receive a diverted call.
In the pocket pc, i do not see such indication
Any software or option to enable that feature?
Pls somebody give some hint.
I badly need it
Search for O2 Plus v2.3
It has a today plugin which not only displays the current call divert status but also gives you a very intuitive way to divert calls.

Identifying redirect phone calls?

Hello,
I did a search but I couldn't find the answer.
I have two mobile numbers and one it’s redirecting/forwarding all calls to the second.
On "normal" mobile phones (ex. nokia) it's easy to see if a phone call received on the second number is a redirect call from the first number or a direct call to the second because the redirect calls have a distinct icon.
But on my WM6 PDA there isn't any difference. How can I identify these calls?
Thanks in advance.
That is one of the few good things Symbian has that PPC does not, that and call recording. i just think it was left out. Why? i couldn't tell you. If you find a way to implement it please let us know.
Ok.
Thanks

how can i intercept a phone call?

what i want to do is to automatically add a specific prefix to all outgoing calls made, for the purpose of saving calling fee in my area. for instance, i want to add 1234 before any call number, whether it's from call history, contact, or any other sources.
im a .net developer, but i didn't find any managed library that can intercept a phone call and make modifications to it. i also explored the TAPI a little bit, it appeared to be able to do the work for me. but the problem is i've no idea of c++ programming.
so is there anybody here who can help me on how to wrap these native methods into managed counterparts?
any/other clue would be appreciated.
Take a look at Google Voice. Perhaps that might be simpler to use to save money on calls?
Hi,
try with Settings > Connections > Advanced > Dialing Rules
I think you can setup a profile that fit your needs.
Bye

doesn't work. and i don't think that setting is for phone connection.
actually i've changed my idea to developing a separate application to access call history and contact. and then when call button is clicked, use the managed Phone class to dial out. this still needs native dll as to accessing the call history. but this seems to be more practical than intercepting outgoing calls.
iDialer
http://supware.net/iDialer/
Not sure if this is exactly what you want, but I use this with my Googlevoice configuration to make free calls. Here's how I have it set up:
1. Installed iDialer
2. Installed configuration CAB that I built through the iDialer website
3. Click the phone icon within iDialer to set it to "Ask" which service to use.
4. I also have installed iContact, so I then go the contact I want through iContact.
5. I select the number for that contact that I want to dial (Home, Work, Mobile, etc.)
6. My phone brings up a pop-up asking:
-Alltel
-GoogleVoice Internet
-GoogleVoice CallingCard
7. I select what I want and it dials that instantly.
This works VERY well for me, and I am able to use my callingcard for out-of-network calls, and Alltel for quick in-network calls.
Hope this info helps!

thanks for the details.
i have 2 queries b4 actually trying it:
1. does the phone call get available via the network? if yes, then it's not applicable for me, cos i'm using gprs which is slow if i want to transfer voice.
2. i checked out google voice and found that it only supports numbers in US. true?
Moved as not software release or development.
Please take your time to read the rules..

Is is truly unbelievable to me that in this day and age such an essential phone function could have been overlooked! I have been searching for days and days and found NOTHING or got stupid responses such as "use Google" (Online only, uses Data and for US Citizens only) or "use voicemail" (expensive cellular provider subscription add-on)... I mean, come on! When even the cheapest home phones can be gotten with built in answering machines, how come this essential feature is nowhere to be seen on android phones?
What's the deal, what's the technical hangup, what's the problem? Can anyone explain the REASON why there are NO call answering machine-like apps of any kind out there?

Im looking for the same thing and can't find it too!
Here is my need. I have a business phone number and my personal cell phone number. All my customers should call me to my business number which I can set to auto-forward to my cell only at the time I want to. But some of my customers know my cell phone number and they keep having this bad habit of calling me on it instead of my business phone number.
I'm looking for a app that will be tracking in the background the caller id number of incoming calls, if the number is a on list of unwanted that I have set, it will auto-answer, play an audio file recorded by me (like: "Please dial 111-222-3333 to reach me, thanks you") and then hang-up.
I don't feel alone with the need of a solution like this. And there are apps that can auto-answer call according to the caller id and there are apps that can play audio in a call, I don't see why it could not be technically possible to combine both.
wow
can't belive it, i was looking for the same and found several threads like this one, that's sad
let's hope sth comes up
Yeah, I used to have this function on my old fliphone from way back in 2002! Also, on my Windows Mobile phones after that...
Exactly. My nokia flip from ages ago (ran symbian OS) has an app on it called "Advanced Answering Machine" or "Advanced Call Manager" or something similar.
I could set it up so that it would direct calls to different greetings depending on the caller ID. An example of this is, I wont accept calls from "unknown" or "blocked" etc numbers. ACM/AAM would handle this perfectly. It would answer the phone, play the Telstra (thats a telco in australia) message "the number you have called is not available from this service." twice, then hang up. Later on I found out I was missing some important calls (the message confused some people such as the landlord who had a blocked number) so I changed it to "I do not accept calls from blocked numbers. To unblock your number, dial 1831 in front of your number. It wont cost you any more". This fixed the problem.
It was also programmed to answer calls after 30 seconds of ringing and play a standard greeting then take a message.
It was a very versatile program. I could (for example) divert certain calls to a party line if I didnt want calls from that particular number; however I didnt, as the diverted leg would cost me a fortune.
Its a shame on these advanced handsets today that such a simple, commonly available on landline phones, feature is not available. I can control televisions, fly remote controlled toys and vapourize components with a big bank of capacitors over bluetooth using my phone, yet it cant perform a simple answering machine function.
From what I hear the API that handles these functions is not directly accessable to developers; probably because "malware" could hook in and dial high priced premium calls and rack up huge bills all the while the phone owner not knowing until the monthly account comes in.
I did see one answerphone somewhere but it utilised the speaker so if it took a call (for example while your at the pub) the caller would not hear your greeting, or on the train everyone around you would hear your greeting and then the callers message, so not very practical. It would NOT work properly while the phone was on mute.
xperia phones come with buit-in answering machine feature. or use jail broken iphone and u have half a dozen apps which can do it.
unfortunately in android noway.. even if u r rooted.. no way

Change behavior of motorcycle helmet BT

Hey all,
Sorry if posted in wrong section. Wasn't sure where's best. Please move or del if necessary.
I recently bought a FreedConn Bluetooth system for my helmet and it has a button on it that when held makes your paired phone dial the last number in your dial list.
This is pretty useless to me and I'd love to instead have it launch Voice Search so can easily send texts and make calls.
I googled a bit and found no way to adjust this on the device itself and looked at Tasker but don't believe it can do what I need.
I'm looking for a way to await the signal from the Freedconn and adjust what action it triggers. Or await an attempt to dial the last number dialed and launch a diff action.
Any advice on this is appreciated. Thank you.
I found a mini workaround having my own number as the last dialed and creating conditions (if calling myself w/ specific BT connected, hang up and run voice search) it works but hoping for a cleaner way. Any ideas?
