I installed the touchflo, it gets installed , but doesn't start etc. it needs somebody to get it working ,it doesn't seem all that far fetched like wm5 or wm6.it needs somebody from this forum to get it going . like they have done it on prophet, wizard, artemis, with some tweaking and alteration of biotouch file etc.cmon give some respect to the forgotten hero who started this transition from window mobile of being brick sized pda's to mainstream phone
Where did u download TouchFlo,cab?
it's all over, just download from these forums , it will be there in one of the wizard, trinity , prophet threads where they tried and succeeded ah somewhat , creating the touchflo work on their devices . u need to be logged in to see the link

TouchFlo on Magician
I installed GoodWin and FunContact from Vito Technologies. It´s a mix from TouchFlo and iphone and works fantastic. I now returned to my Magician and will sell my Charmer with WM6, it is also good, but horribly slow.

absolutely agree that Goodwin and FunContact is worth installing on magician or wm2k for that matter...IMO Vito should upgrade Goodwin to have more interactive home screen...now its seem that you have to scroll a lot because everything is in one page...
I didin't like this Goodwin, on my Magician it "half-worked", the signal strength and battery meter doesn't work and the button slide lock too, just when I start the program it appears and then never more. But I agree that the User Experience is fantastic. I am using the 2.03 WWE modified ROM.
Goodwin etc.
It is correct that the batterymeter and the signal strength don´t work, but with the lock-button i think you make a mistake: click on it with stylus or finger, hold it and drag it from the left side to the right side of the display, and the device will be unlocked so that you can work with it. I think batterymeter isn´t as important, i took the Power-button to Favorites to reach it easily for controlling the battery status. Another effect of the "half-working" is, that the timer to controll the testing period doesn´t work, too! So, for devices with WM2003, it´s Freeware!

Ok, it is locked just when I stard Goodwin, but how to Lock again? I was using Slide2Unlock very similar that locks the PDA everytime I Power Off the phone to stand-by mode, with Goodwin nothing happens when I power off and on.
why don't you guys try this out. just modify the includede ini file to match your shortcuts.

dude.. it's less than $20..I say just pay for it man..if u ever tried to write a program for a PPC2003 phone u'll know what a b!tch it's like...these ppl have put alotta effort into makin it work and the least we can do is show our appreciation... afterall.. this ain't TrashWare like a dodgy virus remover that installs the viruses in the "free trial" version just so u can pay them $20 to "get rid of it".. this is pure sweat and hardwork that someone's put in dude...and the lack of technical docs from M$ doesnt help either!
Otherwise.. dunno if anyone's mentioned it before, but a friend of mine intro'ed me to PointUI .. Alpha version just came out for PPC2003.. and it looks friggin schweet =) I'm usin it on my Magician.. definitely worth a look.. so far it's still free coz it's Alpha version

Hey guys whats up, does anybody know any info on the stauts on WM6? Any word for the 750? I just cant wait for it to come out.
I've heard no earlier than June, although nothing says that it can't take a little longer than that.
Update
I'd bet on late summer, early fall
No one knows for sure.. ..there is some dude in Spain that said in an interview that the update will be available in june. But there isn't any info about wich carier, or where it will be released. Guess they keep us left in the dark about this one

Palm Insider says June and has pictures. I doubt it will be on time, something will keep it from being released on time.

I bought the Treo 750 based soley on the fact that Palm annouced the Windows Mobile 6 update was official!
Been using WM6 on my wizard for 3 months now. Always wanted a Treo 750, but couldn't bear to go back to WM5.
Hope this is released sooner rather than later!

I felt the same way, but I really like a lot of the usability enhancements Palm made. I didn't want to move away from WM6, but Palm has made the transition easier to accept. I just can't wait until WM6 is released - that will make it all better!
speaking of enhancements, I very much like the threaded messaging feature on the Treo 750. Hope that remains intact on WM6 for the Treo?!

I hope they integrate it into the actual messaging app, so I don't have to waste a Start Menu item and/or key shortcut.
Sorry richy, but I wouldn't expect any major differences between the WM5 and WM6 builds. The majority of the enhancements belong to WM6.
Why does the messaging app take up more space or more key shortcuts than the pocket outlook inbox? (In the settings menu you can specify what shows up in the start menu)
Hope this upgrade eliminate those stupid %#@&!(@#^ bug(S)...

I harldy think it's gonna be bug free, but I've owned a few other WM devices Prophet, Wizard, Tornado, Typhoon and Voyager by HTC and I must say that the Treo is by far the most stable, although it's not the fastest or the most tweakeable device. This is probably due to the business customer they are aiming at
Things that will remain:
- annoying E-mail on the left soft button
- SMS -> left softkey DELETE instead of NEW. Lucky for us Treo users we have our threaded SMS
The thing I'm looking for is the extra speed with WM6 on the Treo, seen in it action and it sure looks promissing!

Sweet, thanks for this.
after searching and searching for possible resource files for an ozVGA hack... i accidentally stumbled upon a VGA hack from somewhere in the forums... didnt know it will work but just tested it anyhow...and wow! first time i was able to appreciate real VGA in all its glory... no more missing icons or displays...
important!!! i am not the author of this software... i just found it and would like to share it to my current family (UNiversal).... hehe!
all credits go to the author, tobias.waldvogel in the athena forums! cheers! you made a working REAL VGA program! finally!!!!
what is good about the program:
1) you can choose 96, 128 or 192 dpi settings
2) all icons/notifications/etc can can be seen
3) texts in the today bar are all present! (signal, battery, clock, volume, etc)
4) now you can use the htc home plugin with no problem! (in REAL vga)
5) very very minor font issues
***I am not liable for hard resets! i just want to share! if you're not sure what you're doing, maybe you should wait for other people to try it first and wait for their opinion on this software
sorry for 1 link only... i cannot upload it here... tried about 4 times already..

Yup, confirmed working & stable in Uni after 3 days of use. HTC Home now displays better although notification counts still cut-off/partially hidden at 128 dpi. Most progs are compatible except in my case 1-calc.
Credit should be given to: tobias.waldvogel of Athena forum here at XDA-Dev on the thread pointed out above by fallenczar!
I'm interested to learn about the application of real-VGA.
Why we will be needing real-VGA where we have high resolution in PIE...?

First of all congratulations ranju for the nice ROM (judging from the posts in your thread)!
With RealVGA we get to use HTC Home Today plugin which doesn't display well in QVGA. A lot of today screen space is also realized as well as getting to see a lot more on the screen on other VGA-aware progs. The drawback is when non VGA-aware programs are run, the fonts (& icons) are veeery small to be read/seen.
Can't comment on games as I don't use mine for that kind of stuff, but some say that VGA games are cool in Real VGA!

I've just downloaded and installed this file, and let me thank you for this.
And... Here is my two cents, i just wanted to share my experiences on how programs behaved in this mode.
The icons at SPB Today plugin doesn't display.
The Task manager icon is corrupted and is hard to click on it.
I've resetted my PDA twice since i installed this and both resets required another reset since it stuck at windows logo.
When i opened VC Painter.. well, it kinda crashed and i had to reset.
I've opened Pocket Artist, it works well except the icons at the toolbar can not be seen unless you click and wait on over them.
Opera seems better this way, you really enjoy browsing in fullscreen. Well, at least whilst opera "can" open web sites as it's supposed to be. I still am struggling for using meebo.com.
Minimo, the browser that i could barely have had any surfing experiences since it drives me crazy, is worse than Opera at browsing but works at RealVGA mode, well... kinda! (It crashed again when i tried opening a website.
The dialer skin doesn't fit the screen good enough. It has a blank space at down as big as the "Hide Keypad - Menu" bar is.
In this mode, viewing photos is a feast since you can view them in their original resolutions.
Resco Audio Recorder application denies the screen res. and tries to open like it was in back. It feels like they've coded their program to fill the screen according to ratios. Looks bad.
Wohoo! Keepass looks fantastic!
Novii Remote doesn't run at this screen resolution... *sniff*
pTravelAlarm's skin looks like crap, pity...
psShutXP feels more like real,
Voice2Go behaves just like Vito Audio Notes,
There're some minor font issues when i was exploring settings...
Oh and, it drains memory!

hi dreamtheater... i also had the same problem before...
i think these are the files i used for the htc home plugin....
htc home plugin: rt HTC home 2.0
htc home plugin customizer: HHCv08b.cab
this home plugin is the one with the 6 tabs... you can enable this using the customizer... you can also change the clock skins, icons, etc.
makes your home plugin look even better...
no other requirements except that you must be in wm6 for this particular plugin i posted (and in realVGA to get correct display).... i know i read somewhere that they were able to make a Cab to make the htc home plugin run on a wm5 device...

Looking forward to improve the look and the usability of my Tornado and after that I saw the Com. Mngr. window of my brand new Orbit 2 (HTC Cruise), I decided to gather some information about how to port the HTC Wings (SP) Communication Manager to my old and faithfull Tornado and from all that search, i did a cab file to realize all this.
Maybe this could be implemented too at the upgrade of any WM6 versions from vjgrace, NiTroGenious, nncuong.
The down listed cab file upgrade the actual ComMgr to the new one from HTC Wings at the english language. See pictures below.
UPDATE to COMM Color
The new COMM Colors is faster due a new *.dll file, it does improve the application's speed, this one as well as the previous one, only shows 6 different functions/connections, but you can choose your favorites to display by editing the registry, all the icons to the functions are available:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\CommManager
From 0 to 10 you can select at the first entries (0-5) the application/connections of your preference.
The standard entries after install are:
0: FlightMode
1: Phone
2: Bluetooth
3: WLAN
4: IR
5: DataDisconnection
This looks hawt!
Nicer than the one that never matches my WM black scheme.
I'll try this tonight before I flash...
Any chance you can port over the contacts look too?

When I look at Wings and Elf, the contacts look quite different than for Tornado. I know a bit of it has to do with them having more screen real estate.
But the scheme and layout look slicker.
So looks by HTC Cruise
I've tried it and it works well. Functionally it works the same as the others I've used. Aesthetically, it's a nice change. The "toggled" indicator light is cool and it matches the WM6 black theme that I love.
The Data Connection was greyed out, but I don't have a GPRS connection setup so that may be it. (On an aside, I just reinstalled my PC OS on my main PC, and the default spellcheck for Firefox is US "English" that tries to tell me that "greyed" is misspelt; it even tells me that misspelt is "misspelled". And here I thought the US was supposed to have been colonised by educated people... )
The comm manager has a flaw. However, the same flaw exists in EA's ROM and I'm sure Nitro's and vjgrace's...
Clicking exit, doesn't actually close the app(let). It just minimises it so the back button won't recall it. Celetask finds the process lallygagging around.
(I know this isn't your fault. Just a peeve of mine. Exit should mean exit. I hate teases. Man, I'm just so excitable tonight. I wonder if that has anything to do with why I have this nick?)

The Cruise, aka Touch Cruise, aka Polaris should look like the Touch because it's allegedly a variant (but so varied as to have it's own name and forum )
Here's some screenies from the Touch:
http://www.imobile.com.au/images/phone_reviews/htc_touch/touch-screenshots01.jpg
I'm considering getting this one [the Touch], as the Polaris will cost so much and I'm already seeing it locally on cragslist for $300-350.
This newer interface, which is common among the newer models, looks more like an interface, as opposed to a mini OS. Disguising WM maybe a smart move on the part of HTC.
The above pics only has the my people list, not the regular contacts. I can't seem to find a pic right now. But it looks like the comm manager, or the song list.
sorry, wrong posting...

The one that it installed over. i.e. the one that came with your ROM, unless you have installed something else over that one, in which case, I hace no clue, but do tell us how it works out ;-)

Well, I don't really had that problem on my Tornado, I was using the same ROM version too, after I have updated to the last 3.6 version and nothing happens, may be you have a low program memory on your phone.

What do you mean by this? Too much installed on ROM, so low space? Something else using RAM?
Just checking if anyone at all has gotten TouchFlo 2d working on the wizard. I'm using j.vd.spank's wm6.1 and all I get is a today plugin which says click here to launch TouchFlo or something like that, but nothing shows up on clicking.
Is this a rom problem or is something incompatible with the wizard?
I've just tried yesterday. Same problem.
Yeah I Recommend Not To Install As Me Too Faced It & Had To Reset My Pda
Same problem here. Only TouchFlo Message on Toadyscreen.
me too!!!
I780 - 320x320 resolution - 128 dpi (the same with 96 dpi)
I got one of the first versions to run but the wizard is toooooooo slow to handle it. it was running at 1.97 frames per second and it looked like it needed to be around 24 to function. Great looking program but my wizard is slow.
The first version was Touchflo 3d which required more intensive processing. TouchFlo 2d seems to work fine on other (similar to wizard) xdas.
perhaps it would work if it were cooked into a rom?....can we get one of the cooks to see if that works?
Same Problem Here...
Maybe a rom Cookers can search the missing(s) file(s) ?
I think its doesn"t work because one (or a lot) of file(s) are/is missing on the wizard.
Or (if my brain is not corrupt) like the TouchFlo Port, its maybe a missing Reg Key.

I'm trying to get this into a rom and will report back on how it goes
it does not look like it's going to work straite out of the box
any idea what is the problem gollum?
maybe we will need some special hack to get this working on our wizards?
I've tried this on both 20273 (tnt's b3 release and another) to no avail, so even some ported from diamond dont seem to work. someone on an engadget mobile comment said they got it to work. what could we be missing?
That would be me(Christian Walters) on the Engadget Mobile comment that said it worked...and it did...twice. I got it too load on a hard reseted Wizard runnin the beta one of the newest TNT ROM, but never again...I dont know whats wrong with it:/

Same thing here. Let's hope Gullum comes up with a nice working rom (thanks in advance for the hard work).
i'm sure its due to a missing reg key (or DLL)... if only trace debugging tool exist on WM.
Hmm bad news :
ELVES
Polaris
Kaiser
Artemis
Hermes
NIKE
Herald
Trinity
Titan
All devices of this lis have an QualComm chip... Manilla 2D use certainly native routine of this processor so using it on an ARM based device are certainly impossible.

You are wrong, not all of those devices have qualcomm chip. Hermes have samsung and it works on touch which has omap 850 processor.
Sorry for this quickly conclusion, i hope Golumm (or anybody else) find the way to use it on wizard
I've got some of the apps to work on but not manila yet but I will try again and again and again
I'm shure it's just some dll thing
Has anyone installed the Manilla 2D in HTC Wizard running a Windows Mobile 5?
I tried installing it in mine and after the restart, the HTC Home plugin vanished altogether and there was nothing else.
On checking the Today items, there was no Touch Flo listed nor the HTC home plugin I was using earlier was listed.
A quick check in the registry showed the entries for Touch Flo (and also for the vanished HTC home) present under the Today registry entries.
Does this thing work on WM5 at all?
Am I missing something?
NOTE: I also installed the shared dll cab file.

Why don't you say it?
always the same: a junior member trys a app, has a problem and opens a new thread (!) instead of posting in the right application thread or search there. frustrating and stupid.
Snniiff i have a wizard in wm6.1 , and i can t use manilla2D
This is a very Valid Thread,
But I will move it to the Wizard WM6 forum.
WM5 don't count on it, unless Dfereira comes back from sabatical
Also made it Temp Sticky because of it's current importance and interest.
Hope you guys get it figured out.
I have a wizard to Test out what you guys can dish out.
i try this
htc wizard accept install
but manilla2D don t play

This is now a Wizard thread.
Well here's what i'll be testing this weekend.
As i placed the new shared dll's into the rom i got no double file notice while using build OS.
So that means the files weren't there to begin with.
Which propalby means it's missing some registry entries to those files (besides the ones in the RGU file)
So that's the first thing to try.
After that it's comparing and comparing.
Volume did not work Start menu and Title bar did work.
Nice kitchen by the way makes a fast little rom so J.VD. Great simple Oem Pack, it's been two years since i cooked myself my own wizard.
No let's see if there's still some of the old Wizard Folk checking this forum, that have now turned cook that also want to return home.
Interesting
A moderator that has time to cook and for wizard men!!!
Hope it will be a good nice PRO try for TF2D in wizard, i think we cant do much cause the omap 195mhz so
GIVE IT A TRY is the cause of XDA isnt it?

if works i send you a hot brazilian chick as reward ;P
better then any buck on paypal
Nice, new serious topic for wizard.
Nice to see you here Noonski. i Hope porting its possible.
For my opinion : Manilla2D crash because DLL is missing or REg key is missing.
i will definitely be watching this .
hope it goes well
nice job in advance
waiting for the ROM
Really need to do some reading up first.
I'm thinking of using the Ext Rom a little bit differently.
Like move Some of the Skin files that don't need to be there.
Haven't seen that been done before
Just an idea, never tried it.
As for M2D at the moment, i would not bet on it. (don't want to set impossible standards at the moment)
That would really need Dfereira's experience for when he ported HTCHome to WinMob 5.
Maybe i can help.. If you need me PM me.
I'm also trying my best here and I'm trying some drivers from elf to see if it makes any differants.. we'll se how it goes and if I get anywhere it will also work on prophet
