Car Charger TOMTOM for HTC

I have an HTC touch diamond and a tomtom one xl. I wanted to buy the car charger for the htc, that is mini-usb, but i was thinking about the possibile to use the one of the tomtom (mini-usb as well).
Do you know if it is possible?
Thanks for your answers.
If it's mini usb it should work. Plug it in and see. i had a plug before that didn't give enough power to my phone though, so if it does work, make sure the % starts going up.
But anyway i'm afraid that it gives too much power or too few power and to damage the HTC. Is it possible?

though mini usb is the basically the same, some devices may accept power on a different pin. For example plugging in a motorola charger into an old mio will just show as a USB connection, and not charge. IGO makes universal chargers... Most devices are A32 tip, blackberry's are mostly A29, and HTC uses A53. They all supply 5v just on different pins. Dont worry about wreaking your device, the most that will happen is that it will think its hooked up to a pc and trickle charge.
Thank for your answers...
But anyway how could i know if tomtom charger has A53 as well?
News: I found it. Tomtom one xl uses A32 standard, so it's not compatible with htc devices.

A32 is standard. its pretty much exactly like plugging device into your computer. so it *should* charge your htc if it charges while hooked up to computer. It may charge more slowly "trickle" but it should work just fine. only the 29 probably wont do anything.
Thanks for your support.
It's always good to meet people so informed like you in this forum.
When i'll try i will post the result.

[Q] MHL connection

Hello,
So I know there has been couple threads in regards to MHL's before but none answered my question...
I went ahead and bought a MHL connector yesterday, tried hooking it in to my flatscreen with new HDMI cable I also bought at the same time, all from frys electronics. I had seen pictures of that MHL connector on multiple post stating it works so I sure figured it would for me. But for some reason I was unable to get mine to work.
I have tried
rebooting the phone (with and without mhl plugged in)
giving the phone a full charge before trying it.
plugging power output to laptop or wall (laptop is closer than wall but either way none worked)
but at no time did I get a response from my phone or tv other than it charging my phone? I am understanding that when I plug it in to the MHL I should have a new icon popping up on the top of my screen but it's not
I am currently running zydroid latest rom 2.0 (great rom by the way)
Is anyone else having such issue or can anyone assist me in this regard. Or even better yet, anyone with zydroid rom able to assist me?
Thanks a bunch
I'm on stock but I have one that is made by Samsung? I've heard of knock off ones not working with phones but I guess that's people's own experience....And with my mhl converter to hdmi it has to have my phone charger connected directly to the converter while the other end of mhl converter connects to my phone. It's a mess of cords but it works....I've tried others and this is the best one that works with my galaxy s2 and sensation. I bought mine on amazon for like 13 bucks.....try searching Samsung mhl to hdmi ....hope u figure it out.
Sent from my HTC VLE_U using xda premium
I figured it out... turned out to be the MHL was defective, Thanks bud
HTC One S MHL Connection
I have the OEM HTC Sensation MHL adapter and it works perfectly on the HTC ONE S.
You can also buy the MHL adapter from monoprice.com which works and offers 7.2 audio.

[Q] a510 not charging and silicon/glue in mini usb

Today while charging my a510 I noticed it seemed to be hotter than usual around the mini usb port. I then noticed that there seemed to be a silicon/glue looking substance coming from the mini usb port and it would no longer charge. I have searched the internet for what this could be and only found one mention of this problem with no answers! Has anybody heard of this or know what could cause it at all?? Thanks in advance for any help.

[Q] Charging Problem

Hello Everybody , I have a Tablet Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 N8010 . In fact my Tablet is charging slowly and when i connect with the usb cable my computer does not recognize the Tablet . Somebody can help me
Are you using original cable ?
Long cable tend to be slow charing
I just received my Note 10.1, a used one with 3m length cable, and same as you, not recognized by the pc, I ordered shorter one on ebay
Also not sure Galaxy charging works for this tablet, but it's less than 0.5A when using this cable, sooo....
i had a problem like this.
Use the original cable, or a usb 3.0

[Q] Motorola factory cable only works with laptop power, why?

Hello everyone. I couldn't find a general motorola forum so hopefully this location is acceptable.
I have a Droid Bionic that I bought a motorola factory cable for. It works great, but only when I'm using my laptop as a source of power. I've tried three separate ac wall adapters and none of them work. Thoughts?
Buy a new charging cable and see how it goes
