hello.. ive been away on holiday with my xda and unfortunatly ive smashed the screen, is there any way of getting it to reset so im able to use activesync to download the info on there, as i cant get passed the "align screen" part .. please help if u can.. there are our first baby pics on there and im gutted to have lost them, i dont mind taking it to bits if i have to thanks dave
If you can't get any activesync access, one of us might have to write you an autorun program that you can stick on a memory card. Insert it, it'll autorun, backup all your memory, and make a ping sound.
You could probably also use it to write align screen data to the registry so it'll skip that screen.
Can you see the screen, or nothing at all?

yep
ace m8... sounds like u know what to do... (the wifes chewing my ear off about this) er yeah.. the screen still lights up and displays however the glass front has been smashed so the touch screen wont register anything
i have a 1gb sd card and that sounds like the way to do it if at all possible,
as before, any help will be gratefully recieved
thanks
autorun program?
how would i go about getting an autorun program?
does anyone know who i could approach?
Did this ever get sorted out?

It's just me, but if you are on the align screen (without choosing it from settings) doesn't that usually mean that you preformed a hard reset so all those baby pictures are lost anyway?
I think, from the F*cked Hermes threads, that if the screen gets massively disaligned the OS will initiate a screen align itself. I'm not sure, I've never seen it happen.
Screen align can also be kick started with a press of enter + messaging (on some devices).

What to do with a blue angel with a broken touch panel?
This doesn't directly relate to the baby pictures issue, but more generally a blue angel / sx66 with a broken touch screen. I found a place online that would fix it for $140 or so, but it's not worth that much according to its condition and recent ebay sales. Anyone know of a cheaper way to get one repaired, more in the $40-75 range using used parts? I know I could sell this one for parts and I may do that, but would rather fix it up and put linux on it.

It is not an easy DIY project to replace the touchscreen on Blueangel:

I have tried to separate it from the broken LCD, and broke it after all, too.
cant you just connect as a guest?
Try this free software, lets you control XDa from PC
Hi I have the same problem but used this program to control the xda even though cant see the screen, it recreates the screen on the pc, as long as activesync is connected this will self-install.
Regards
Michael
shouldnt your files be backed upto your computer once you connect to activsync? mine has always done that. also i have a program that you can use that will let you control your phone from your pc. let me know if you need it and i will send it you
Hey guys, i am going on a trip with my family and my mom is bringing her laptop in the car and i was wondering if there was a way that i could use my phone to give her internet on her laptop... if there is can i please have an easy step by step guide on how to do this? I have an Alltell Touch Pro btw.
when you plug your phone into your laptop a screen should come up and ask you if you want to use activesync or use it as a modem. click the modem option. if that doesnt happen, look around in your programs folder for an app called internet sharing. if you find that you should be good to go. the options are pretty straightforward
I use WMWifiRouter. Run as many laptops as you want. I used it today going down the interstate. It does run the batteries down so, keep it on a car charger.
The tethered option described above works as well. I just like being able to run two laptops (2 kids).....
Hi Guys.
Just wondering if any one of you knows of a dumbphone with WiFi sharing capability? A good battery, rugged, and preferably flip-top would be nice. Fed up with lugging my smartphone with crap battery around to use as a hotspot with my 7.7 when on 3G/HSDPA - I just don't really see the point in having a smartphone anymore as i have my tab. They all use too much battery, have to plugged in every night etc... I recently went to Ireland on holiday, and only had to charge my mates 8yr old phone up ONCE in a week -and that was to turn it on after 2 years. And i used it a lot too. So, what about it - anybody know of one?
Thanks kindly,
Mark.

Interestingly, I had a similar dilemma when I owned my galaxy tab 2 and smart phone.
Then I had an idea, why not just get one device!
I hit eBay with both items and bought aP6800
This is now my sole device and has a better battery than anything I've ever owned. It doubles as my phone, yes my phone (mainly use headphones for talking but I have been known to put it to my ear... I don't care, ice got a device that's slimmer than almost every smartphone out there, has a far better battery and has a stunning screen!
My advice would be to sell both and get the P6800
Hi, Im going to be gradudating this year and i want to screw with the teachers. Does anyone know if there anyway to shut off an Epson projector with my iPhone? I want to use it on the projectors at my school when there are clueless teachers around so i can shut them off or turn them on. I use the iPhone 6 with IOS 8.1.3 Thanks!!
I still have my old One S after my son returned it as "slow". As a cyclist I always run the risk of carrying my good phone in the pocket of my cycling jersey so am thinking I may root the One S and use that as a spare, cycling phone which if it gets damaged wont be so "painful".
I am looking for an O/S which will get rid of the bloatware and, perhaps, allow the phone to do the basics a little more quickly and smoothly.
Can someone suggest and point me in the direction of an install which may be suitable?
