Hi there i have noticed that ppl want to record their phone conversation so here is the trick i got from Pocket PC email.
Recording phone calls
Here's a neat trick you can do with your Pocket PC Phone Edition that you probably can't do with your old phone. Did you know you can record single phone conversations or keep track of conference calls with your Pocket PC? This would come in very handy if you would like to remember exactly what a conversation was about, days after the conversation had taken place! Of course, you can also use it to make sure you get what you are promised when you call your telephone company to sort out your account!
Before you do this, you should be aware of the laws in your area regarding recording phone conversations. You should also tell the person you are talking to that you are going to record the phone conversation. Having done that, read on...
To record a phone call, start the phone call as per normal, then once you have started the phone call, open the notes application (tap the button), tap New from the menu bar at the bottom, and tap the button. You should see the recording bar at the bottom of the screen.
Simply tap the record button to record the conversation.
You may get variable results depending on the device you are using, and may not be able to use this at all on some devices - particularly older ones.
... or you can just press a record button after establising a call.
On most devices this would record only sound coming to microphone, so other party sound volume would be low. This has been discussed several times before.
also it does record only in WAV files & still the recording length is limited to a certain maximum length!
recording phone calls
Seems to me that what people would like is (NaturalRecorder)
http://www.naturalwidgets.com/products/naturalrecorder/
But this is only Compatible with Nokia Series 60
unless some one knows how to adapt it
if i am recording a call using the Notes application i can hear my voice ver clear but i can't hear the other end.. how to improve that?
this method does not work with magician

Guys, I've just had a thought about this problem (recording/playing sound from/to the phone)
How does the bluetooth profile work? This is redirecting audio through the bluetooth stack to the headset.
Would it be feasible to write a dummy bluetooth profile that would merely redirect audio in/out back to the local device, so that we can record it etc?
V
I once recorded conversation using Resco Audio recorder V 3.2...one can listen the other party sound.. relatively better than the notes application...
But I guess this will work much better in quiet surroundings..
Have anyone tried Simbsoft Voice Recorder?

Anyone any thoughts on the bluetooth profile idea?
Concensus is that it is not technically possible otherwise to record the phone through current software and drivers; I haven't tried other recording software, but that's not what I'm talking about...

It could work if someone can write a virtual BT driver, which would actually buffer the incoming & outgoing audio streams & write them to a WAV or MP3 file..
By the way, Resco Audio Recorder can record both parties in a conversation! I just tried it now on my JAM
ezzkht - re buffering Audio, that's exactly what I'm suggesting. I know some of the guys on the board are working on a bluetooth stack replacement. I guess I better post a new thread on this subject.
Re Resco: is it recording internally, or through the microphone and speaker? eg, is it dependant on how loud the phone volume is?

(RESCO) It does not depend on the volume of the phone! thats why i liked it 8)
Give it a try, http://www.resco.net/pocketpc/audiorecorder/default.asp
That's very interesting. I'll look into it.

this would not work. GSM audio outputs are physically connected directly to BT chip and data does not go through any driver.
mamaich - thanks! Didn't know that. What do you think about Resco audiorecorder recording both sides? I've not heard of that before.
V
Thanks mamaich! I never knew that
So how could Resco Audio Recorder capture both streams together..?
BTW, as far as one-button recording start is concerned, you may want to check out the "One-button recording? Does it need to show the app window?" row in the article "Everything you may need to know about sound recording on the Pocket PC": http://pocketpcmag.com/blogs/menneisyys/112005SoundRecorderApps.asp
Almost all sound / audio recorder applications know this trick.
Go get PMRRecorder at http://www.1800message.com/SPWM5CallRec.cab
It works very well on my Universal! It automatically records calls! I take the recorded files and have my secretary transpose them to text. Audio level is very good.
Hey all - searched and can't find a solution that actually works. I have a Wizard and a couple of headsets - an HT820 and a H700. I would like to record voice notes (i.e. dictation) and record them on the phone in MP3 or WAV format. I've tried NoteM, AudioNotes, and Resco Recorder and although they work brilliantly for recording via the phone's mic, they don't seem to want to record from the bluetooth headset. Does anyone have a solution for this? Thanks!!
install vjvolubilis and run command agon...this directs your mic and speaker to the headset...then you can record with your headset...hope it will work for you.
Does that work? I've never tried it... I guess it should, if Voice Command recognition works.

Interesting - I admit I was hoping for something a little more elegant, but I will try this, and I want to thank you and Vijay for this either way!
I have ultimate 9502 with the new rom (wm 6.1); I have tried both resco audio recorder 4.51 and latest version of vito audio note. Both stop responding when a phone call starts regardless whether the speaker is on or off. The programs otherwise work good with other kind of recording.
I have read some threads saying that phone calls recording does not work with pocket pc however other threads said it works but only when the speakers are on.
Some web pages posted that resco audio recorder is compatible with ultimate 9502 for phone calls recording!!!
Please advise if you have any thoughts. thanks
I know call recording on WM devices has been beat to death and that the issue lay with the hardware limitations of the audio line when in a call... But I had a thought, would it be possible to create a dummy bluetooth device that simply wrote the audio to a file? How hard would this be?
While probably not easy, with some of the other accomplishments that already exist (e.g. Bluetooth audio router software), it would seem possible. Ideas?

*yawn*
Please don't post incorrect stuff. No, not even AudioNotes is capable of fixing these issues.
My daughter has a stock Samsung S6 that is having issues when I use the mic, while calling and other apps but not when I make a video recording. When I call people can hardly hear me, but when I make a video using the stock camera app the sounds recorded is good. I have tried going into safe mode, but this didn't solve it. Before I factory reset I'm reaching out here.
Hope someone can help to advise

Device has 2 microphones, camera App and Voice recorder record voice in STEREO, using both microphones, connect a pair of headphones on your phone and listed to a recorded video, if you hear only one side, then one of the mics is damaged.
