Touch Pro - SIM contacts and pop-up menu font

Hi everyone,
I have two questions :
1. How to prevent SIM contacts from showing in Contacts ?
2. Is it possible to decrease font size on pop-up menus (for example, when you click Menu in Contacts folder it covers whole screen, and it has very big font)

This is all possible with Schap´s Advanced Config Tool.

Well I tried to two solutions, the one from the Advanced Config and the other editing manually the registry.
Both fail to work.
If I manually edit the registry, if I go to the contacts the Sim Contacts are hidden, but if I make an soft-reset the sim contacts are visible again.
Has anyone got a solution??
Here's the registry that I changed,
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Phone]
"ShowSIM"=dword:00000001 ->0 to disable, 1 to enable.

NO but I would welcome one

I would welcome a solution too. Neither AdvanceConfig or HIDE_SIM work after a soft reset.

Use search on this forum - SIM contact issue was resloved in other threads.
AdvancedConfig doesnt work - there is other way to fix it.

Well I've searched but I didn't find anything, sorry if I'm blind... not everyone can find what is searching...
Maybe if you could be kind enough, you could share the link of that thread...

The registry edit worked for me on the stock ROM, but I've just updated to the DCS v13 ROM and can't for the life of me get rid of SIM contacts!!

Only solution that I found to work to hide sim contacts, is to install NikiSimFix.cab, you can find it by searching the forum

For disable SIM contacts I use SK Tools 4.3.1.2. !

PoketToolman 2 v2.26 seems to be working. No SIM contacts for two days.

How to change path for Settings in Start Menu

I was messing with the registry and could not figure this out. I got as far as finding where the settings program launcher is....
HKLM\Software\HTC\Manila\ProgramLauncher
Here we can add programs to the launcher and I beleive if I can add the .exe to WM All Settings page it would be great. I can't find such a file though. This is where I need help unless I'm completely wrong here. This would allow to add an All settings Tab to be added in the Launcher.
Or
If you go to HKLM\Software\HTC\Manila\ProgramLauncher\3 Changing things there should work. Would ony changing the path work? I just need to know where the .exe for the Settings page is.
It just frustrates me that I have to go to the Settings tab then All settings.

Edit: This maybe more difficult than I think. But I did figure out how to unloch the locked items and also to move them so they are at the bottom.
To Unlock go to
- HKLM\Software\HTC\Manila\ProgramLauncher
-Select one of the keys numbered 0-23 (a number for each of the slots. The locked items are numbers 0-3 and are ordered on the list going left to right/top to bottom)
- Just change the DWord value from 1 to 0 and you can now remove these if you wish.
- You can do the reverse to lock any other program in place. Click on it an set the value from 0 to 1.
--Now Soft Reset or go to today settings, turn off touchflo 3d and hit ok. Go back and turn TF3D back on. All set.
To Move the items go to
- HKLM\Software\HTC\Manila\ProgramLauncher
-The locked items are numered 0-3
-Say if you want to move settings to the bottom left you would select key '3'.
-Rename it from 3 to anything you wish for instance 'n' (or any number starting from 24) make it short because you will change it again.
-Now go to key '23' and rename that to '3'
-Go back to 'n' or whatever you named the old 3 and rename it to '23'
-Now Soft Reset or go to today settings, turn off touchflo 3d and hit ok. Go back and turn TF3D back on. All set.

There is a way to directly link to specific Settings items, see http://www.4winmobile.com/forums/windows-mobile-faq/12666-applet-shortcuts.html Just save the text string after the "=" as a plain text file with extension ".lnk" and put it in the "/windows/start menu/programs" folder, as I'm sure you know.
I've used some of these and they can save a lot of stylus work. I don't see a way to link to the general Settings page itself though.

You have to get a registry editor. I use PHM but have heargood things for Resco registry editor. Just google search for a cab.

EASIER WAY to unlock the first 4 shoutcut in start menu.....
HKLM\Software\HTC\Manila\ProgramLauncher\0
change the "IsReadOnly" dWord value to "0"
restart your TouchFlo3D
Do the same for 1, 2, 3....

Thanks for the tip - works perfectly. Only problem now is assigning an icon other than the ugly white page with Windows square on it. I have tried the trick described here in the Wiki, but it doesn't seem to work. Any ideas?

Provided you have your shortcut in one of the initial 23 positions of the Program Launcher, you could try setting the icon path from the registry, in the location as described by HTC Touch Freak in the first post
To Unlock go to

There's also an "IconPath" parameter under the 0-23 keys which you might have more success with.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I already tried that after posting the above. Managed to find out the icon is no 398 in shellres.192.dll, and inserted that into the IconPath line. Now, when I click on the shortcut, I get a message saying
"The file 'ctlpnl cplmain' cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of its components cannot be found."

I wonder if it's possible to make up your own icon, as you can in desktop windows - a bitmap of the appropriate size with ".ico" extension?

Thanks for the link Fisha21. I made a link for remove programs, put it in the programs list and also saw there was no icon. Well i thought, maybe i can easily approach the link differently.
I downloaded Link Creator 1.4 - Shortcut Creator (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=494613) and just assigned the link to the right softkey.
For those who don't like that, there are many different options that it can be linked to (keymappings etc.)

ALWAYS request SMS receipt report from TouchFLO SMS interface

Hi,
There is a WinMo setting to always request SMS receipts when using the WinMo interface to send SMS. When you are using the nicer Topaz SMS view one has to always manually re-select this. This is annoying. Is there some kind of Manila registry setting?

I think there is two seperate settings for this.
start messaging app (programs - all programs - Message app, i got swedish D2) then select menu then options. Select sms/mms and tick box for message recipt.
The other setting im not certain about, for the touchflo, but it should be somewhere.. Write back if this doesn't help.

ah, hang on a minute. I just tested this and I also need to manualy check the box for recipt. Annoying, bah.. Why have two individual settings for this?
HD tweak has no setting for this..

Yes, you can set up it in registry
[\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Settin gs]
Create a Dword key name “SMSDeliveryNotify” and set the value to 0x000001, if the key is already there, just change the value.
Save it to the registry and soft reset the device, and you are all done, now the “request message delivery notification” option is always ticked except when forwarding messages.

Tried to use it and it only changes the winmo default messaging app (this setting can allready be changed in options/settings for messaging), but still dont affect the manila SMS app.
You can try this yourself, press on favorite contacts - all people - select a person and then select the 2nd box on the left (sms icon) and type a message. Here you wont get a delivery notification unless you select menu - message option - request delivery notification.

owner is missing

anyone help me .owner is missing i realy need that for some Resco program.thank's

Go to the People (contacts) app. There's an entry called 'me' at the top of the contacts list; it's like your personal business card. Fill in your details here and they're automatically used for the legacy 'owner info'.
Trust me, I've registered Resco Explorer perfectly fine this way.
There's a registry fix somewhere to get the old owner info screen back but, as you can see, you don't need it.

Same thing happened to me. You have to go to "Settings" - then "Menu" at the bottom right & choose "More" - "Private" --> "Owner info" --> "Alternatives" & uncheck the Identityinformation-box (dunno what it's called in english, running swedish menues on my phone).

Method 1 :
Fire up a Registry Editor, navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ControlPanel\Owner and remove the redirect.
(You can also remove redirects from HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ControlPanel\Buttons and HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ControlPanel\Input).
Method 2 :
Fire up a Registry Editor, navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ControlPanel\Owner and create a new DWord called “Hide” (without the quotes)
and set its value to 0. If you already have this, change the value from 1 to 0. Soft reset.
Method 3 :
If you don’t like playing with the Registry Keys
1.Go into Today settings, Items tab
2.Enable “Owner Info” while disabling others and tap OK.
3.Enter the Owner Info via the Today screen.
4.After you’re done, adjust back your Today settings accordingly.

Hide/Show Sim Contacts Htc HD2

Simple solution:
-CeRegEditor (it's FREE) install it on your computer.
-Connect your hd2 IN ACTIVE SYNC MODE and WAIT until it appears.
-Run CeRegEditor and go to Hkey_Current_User\Control Panel\Phone
-Create a BINARY key ShowSim (right click Ad new binary key..) and set the value to 0 to disable and 1 to enable.

Ummm...there's already an option for this in the standard manila people options.
People Tab > A'll contacts > menu > view > and you can choose "All", "Contcts" or "SIM".
So if you want conatcts without SIM contacts, just choose "contacts".

exactly! I'm running NRG Energy CHT that has bsb tweaks, but that changes them only on the contact list inside the start menu, it does nothing on the all people/people tab. It still shows doubles.
on some of my previous devices like excalibur and kaiser, there was a simshowhide app, actually it was more of an .exe, 'cause all you did was click on it and they would either show or disappear, but I haven't found another way for this.

wow, I can't believe it was something so simple and I overlooked it, I feel like a dumb ass, I usually play with my phone for a while after flashing to find all the features, but I haven't had much time in the 3 days that I've had my hd2, thank you very much for pointing that out.

Yes you are correct. This does hide the sim contacts in the people tab. But it does not hide the sim contacts in the sms tab. I have been looking to hide them here but have been unable to do so.

I know its there but it is always resetting itself and I want to not always have to pick it all the time more of a automatic permanent. So is there a better reg edit then BINARY key ShowSim that just shows ALL CALLS instead of contacts in the phone call section.

this is what im trying to do.
phone is set to CONTACTS only already but when I go write a new msg and pick a name it shows the name twice. 2 choices for same name is for contact and sim. gay.
