Can anyone help with a problem I have with this model.
It keeps losing the O2 text settings which mean I cannot send or receive emails or texts.
If you can get to the phone settings it is no problem to replace the settings but getting to the phone settings IS a problem.
I have been told that the settings will not run if other programs are running and I used to be able to get to the them by closing all programs and doing a soft reset.
However try as I might I cannot get the settings to run and consequently a big part of the functionality is missing. All that happens is that the settings flash briefly and then close.
Can anyone offer a solution (other than a hard reset) please or are there any known conflicts with other programs which might be causing the problem?
The eten tech supports seems to be non existence,
I think I shall have to replace the device with an HTC Kaiser when available as it has just been too buggy by comparison with my old tried and trusted XDA II which went on forever and was only replaced when the screen started to wear out.
Many thanks.

Is anyone having problems with MRing and their Treo 750V / 750C??
The problem I am having is, whenever I have MRing installed, it prevents my treo from connecting to the internet and alse prevents it from sending Multi Media messages. I thought initially that it was a device or network issue, but after doing a hard reset on two seperate treo 750, connecting to the internet and sending MMS successfully, I then re installed MRing and immediately began having connection issues. FYI MRing is a ringtone manager from Motionapps
MRing problems
I had the exact same issue. I un-installed MRing, and it went away. Somehow, MRing is "hijacking" the phone/data connection, most likely in order to correctly intercept the call to add the ringtone.
No issues since I un-installed. I did NOT do a hard reset, FYI, just un-installed.
Steve
thanks for the response, have you found any other ring tone manager that used mp3 from the sd card like m ring does? ringo mobile says it can do that, but it copies a small peice of the song onto the device memory ( i don't want that). I really like m ring, but it was really frustrating to not be able to send MMS or get on the internet with my 750
Add MP3s
I just added MP3s using the Settings->Sounds & Notifications->Manage tab, and added them from the card. It works fine, and there is enough memory on the phone to easily support a couple of MP3s for ring tones, etc.
I sent a support request about this into MotionApps the same day I replied to you, but no response as of yet.
I like mRing's ability to manage everything from one place, but I need the data connection. Until they fix that, it's staying off my phone :-(
I E-Mailed Motionapps on the 15th of March, but I have not received any response from them as yet. I did copy music onto the device memory, the ringtones work great, I am only missing the ability to set individual tones from SMS contacts. Any thoughts on how to do this?
SMS tones
No, I don't know about that one, sorry. I still haven't heard from MotionApps, though, and it's Mar 20.
here is the response I received from motionapps, it seems to have worked
"Hello ,
Thank you for your e-mail and sorry for delayed reply.
Our development team has been working with this issue and unfortunately they were not able to recreate it in our lab.
However, we would recommend you to try to disable mRing from Today screen by selecting Start > Settings > Today > Items tab and uncheck mRing.
mRing should disappear from the Today screen.
Could you please try out now your internet connection and let us know if it is working correctly?

Sanja

I'll give that a try!
Thanks.
here is the lates reply from Motionapps
"Hello,
Unfortunately the test you performed means that there is an issue with mRing on your device. When disabling from the Today screen you will no longer be able to use mRing for phone call ring tones; only SMS notification will work.
Therefore, until we resolve the issue we can offer you a refund or a different MotionApps application if you prefer. Please let us know about your decision.
Also, we would like to invite you help us identify the issue considering that we are not able to recreate it on our test devices in our lab.
Please let us know if you would like to beta test.
Best Regards,
Sanja

Interesting. The results are as I suspected (no mRing on Today screen means no custom ringtones as mRing is designed to do).
I still have have no email from them regarding the exact same issue, so if you have contact with them, let them know you are not the only one with the issue.
Refer them to this thread, and they can review for themselves. I would be willing to assist. I like the concept of mRing.
FYI, the same issue I have with Vito AudioNotes.
If I set the automatic call record, I can connect only the first time. To reconnect to gprs/umts I must soft reset my treo.
I spent many time to find this!
This issue is only if the autorec is enabled.
At the moment, no solution from Vito Technology.
I'm having this same problem with my AT&T branded, brand new Treo 750.
It took me forever to figure out what was going on, I thought AT&T cut me off or something!
I guess I'm going to try Ringo.
Hi, after the devicestart I get the following message:
Code:
Message undeliverable. You
must first subscribe to the
text messaging feature through your
service provider.
Official is it a MDA Vario IV but I use ROMeOS 1.90.2 and also a newer Radio Rom.
The error starts a few days ago without any changes. SMS, MMS, Email still works. When I check the message the inbox open.
I haven't got a clue!
Did you ever find a solution to this problem? This issue just started on my phone a few days ago, after I returned to the USA.
No! I did a Hardreset.
Did the hardreset solve the problem? If so maybe there is a registry setting corrupted. Apparently this is a well documented issue as I've seen posts on other device sections on XDA. Most responded that the issue seems to be on the T-Mobile network. I'm on also, so I bet it is their problem somehow.
I just loaded the latest official HTC ROM and Radio, bewfore this issue arose. That was a ***** to reload and re-tweak everything, so a hard reset is out of the question. Weird thing is I can send to most numbers I have tried. I tried several test text messages and there is only one number, giving this error message so far, but I am guessing there will be others.
The hardreset fix it but I can't tell you more about that. Meanwhile I have the MDA Vario V. I asked the t-mobile hotline but they couldn't help me.
I've found a lot of posts about this problem. it seems to cover a wide range of devices from Touch Pro, to Treo to Vario. I would guess that it is not device related. Most of the devices effected seem to be running on the T-Mobile network, but not all.
Anyway, if anyone isolates this bug to a registry entry, please post.
Have a great Thanksgiving.
Hello all. I have an HTC Touch Diamond on Bell. The issue I have is quite annoying. I want to avoid a hard reset as much as possible. Basically, the problem I have is that when I delete messages, they will always reappear after a soft reset. Any messages I received between the last reset message will be deleted once a soft reset is performed. For example, I received a message on May 23rd and messages received after that are not kept once I soft reset. I found users with a similar issue here: http://www.technologyquestions.com/...general/225754-text-messages-wont-delete.html
I have tried everything. Clearing ALL text messages doesn't even work. I clear my messages, wait overnight, then in the morning, soft reset, all the messages have returned. I would appreciate any help that you can give.
PS: It does the same thing with my email. I have 2 new emails in one of my three accounts, which I delete, and then sync again. After a soft reset, they have returned along with all the other text messages. It's very frustrating!
I should also say that I am not using a cooked ROM, I'm using the stock Bell ROM. Anyone have any ideas?
I've heard of this problem before.. and to be honest, i couldn't find a solution other than hard-reseting or replacing the ROM... i'm sorry..
wm reads your pim files everytime it loads.. and apparently you have a problem erasing data from within the file.. no idea why.
wait for a couple of days to see if someone managed to solve this.. if not, i'd hard-reset.
Thank you for your reply. I did a hard reset. I just hope this problem won't return. I really don't want to do a hard reset every 2-3 months!

I flashed a cooked ROM in the past and I didn't like it at all. The time stamps on messages were way off and even when changing the time manually it would switch back.
And thanks for the MyPhone suggestion. I've been using it since April and has worked pretty good so far. I also used Dashwire which worked nicely as well.
cooked ROMs in this forum are usually fantastic. you probably just stumbled upon a sucky one. I always suggest cooked ROMs as they are faster and more useful than the official ones (to be honest, i wouldn't be surprised if HTC actually assume their official ROMs will only be used for reference applications and system packages)...
also, ALWAYS backup your data. ALWAYS!
you can use PIMBackup2.8 to backup messages/recent calls/appointments/tasks.... and SPB Backup/Sprite Backup/Resco Backup...to backup you system.
dont soft reset hold the power button until the popup appears then press yes... worked for me
If you soft-reset just in few seconds after deleting mesages, they'll appear again. They'll also appear again if you don't let time to write again the registry.
For soft-resetting, better use an app to do this, slowly. If not, take your time to power off after some minutes. Remember the message "everything you did not save will be lost" and apply it for the fact you deleted the messages but this deletion was not "saved" yet if you don't take you time.
As I stated earlier, I even waited overnight to reset, and have done it by holding down the power buttion. They would still come back. Something was corrupt and only a hard reset would fix it.
Regarding the cooked ROM, I used MightyROM before and it gave me issues.
Hey guys, got a problem here that hopefully someone could help me with, I have searched through the forum and I've not seen any similar issues posted by anyone else.
My phone is the Touch HD, running the stock ROM from when I first got it out of the box.
Basically I can not get into messaging at all, if I try to access 'Messaging' or 'Mail' through Touch Flo 3D then Touch Flo just resets itself and if I go to 'Start > Programs > Messaging' then nothing happens when I click on the icon.
The most recent applications I have installed are the new Opera beta, Resco Radio and a dog whistle application, I have since uninstalled all these thinking that would fix the problem but it's not.
I phoned HTC today and they said to clear storage on the phone which then obviously does a hard reset.
I don't mind doing this but it's obviously a pain to go through and backup all my data, I'm just trying to find a way to fix my problem without doing a hard reset first.
Saying that though the device has also been running a bit slow/sluggish over the past couple of months and if I am going to do a hard reset then I might just start using a custom ROM.
Hope someone can help.
Google pixel 3 (not XL) - Three is my provider.
For a number of weeks now I've not been receiving notifications while using data, until the app has been opened or till the phone connects to Wi-Fi.
I have contacted Three, thinking it may be an issue with service of some sort. They've been through loads of different settings (the person I spoke to did seem to know what they were talking about and very useful), but they got to point where they had exhausted everything they could think of.and asked me to turn my phone on and off to see if that helps with some of the settings that had been changed... it didn't.
Since, I've done a factory reset (I'd already tried resetting using the other options), this did didn't help. I've gone through all easy accessible settings to make sure no battery optimizer setting are on (the ones I can find at least), I've gone through all the data settings. But nothing seems to be working.
As soon as my phone connects to Wi-Fi I then get loads of notifications coming through.
Not sure if anybody else is having an issue with this or if it's due to the most recent update as the two seemed to happen to close togethe.
I've tried contacting Google and not had any reply. I'm at a loss of what else I can try hoping somebody on here night have another suggestion please.
