So I got a Sling box and was under the impression (literature in the box) I could get slingplayer mobile but you have to shell out another 30 bucks for it? Is there anything else out there that works with the slingbox? Or if some one know of a way for me to aquire a full working version of slingplayer mobile could you pm me? Thanks
Does slingplayer mobile travel with you or the phone. I get a new phone every 4 months and would hate to have to keep buying it
It is device specific....

I'm considering buying a Sprint PPC-6700 (HTC Apache). But I'm not sure if some of the software I want runs on Windows Mobile 5. Can somebody test it for me please?
These are music sequencers. So if you're into making music, then you'll probably appreciate this. All you have to do is install the free download and see if it works on your Windows Mobile 5 device.
Could someone try Griff and Phoenix Studio and let me know how they work on Windows Mobile 5?
If Griff works it would be awesome. Also, some of the plugins for Griff too.
I'm waiting for the consumer version before I get my 6700 (got tired of being told no, and also hoping to have Picture and Video Mail). But if these don't work on it then I may have to wait until they do (or wait for the next device).
Phoenix Studio works for me. dont know about the other one. i had Phoenix Studio for a long time on my dell axim and now i have it on my ppc6700.

Just tried the demo of Griff and it works pretty well - might even buy the full version!
Has their been a Dish Network Remote access app for windows mobile? I tried searching for one and don't think there is one yet. It'll be great if someone made one but Dish Network will most likely make one in a few years maybe.
why is windows mobile so far behind. its a shame.
Dish Sling Adapter App for WM
I, too, would like to know why there is no Windows Mobile App for the Dish Sling Adapter. I love watching my recorded and live shows on my laptop when I am away from home. However, I do not carry my laptop with me everyday like I carry my phone. So what is causing the delay?
Anyone out there streaming Netflix movies on your HD2? If so, how?
I would love to know this too... +1
If i knew how to even look at going about doing this i would learn and develop it. This would be a killer app!!! especially on our yummy 4.3 inches of pure awesomeness
There has got to be a way.. if we can watch previews, and adjust our Qs.. there has to be a way to steeem the movies to our phones.
Any dev want take this and run with it?
You'd need a mobile Silverlight player in a shell that tricks Netflix into thinking you're on an approved browser.
that would be sooo sick... i was so upset at the partnership t-mobile or htc made with blockbuster... i mean that's a dying company on the verge of bankruptcy... why??!! Netflix would've been the best choice... and it would've rocked my socks off
this would be the best app ever.
maybe just a hulu player that allows full selection.
I know they have netflix app for WP7
6.5 is not going to be getting silverlight
i wish someone would some how come out with app that lets u stream netflix.then it'll b fun to carry around a 4.3 inch screen phone.hehe

Maybe not. I'm running Firefox on my Win7 machine and to the best of my recollection, I haven't upgraded to SilverBlight despite the frequent nags. So there's gotta be a way, no?
HD2 and Netflix
My HD2 was rocking the netflix better than my wii and xbox the listings where fab but sadly after not checking for a few days i went to log onto my NF and watch some movies as i was sitting at the DR office to find...... there is a new version and you must upgrade...... then upgrade not found retry or exit
@ DraksFangs Do you have Netflix running on android or windows 6.5???

Must be Android. There is no working Netflix for Winmo. I had Neflix on my HD2 through Android too, and yes, since two weeks ago it keeps telling me new version, must upgrade and then, not found.
WinMo, no. But WP7 has it. I had it runing on my WP7 HD2, but I came back to Android and found out my Netflix app no longer works. Boooo
Does anybody know of a remote client that actually works?
The only one I have found is impossible to use because the keyboard for entering address/id/pw is not even there to get started!
If I could get something like Pocket Cloud on here ... this thing would pay for itself.
I'm in the same boat as OP, I really need a windows rdp app for my touchpad
Ubuntu
I installed the ubuntu chroot on to the TouchPad. I then used the rdesktop application with tsclient frontend.
It actually works pretty well.
You even get a keyboard. No right click though..
This isn't out yet, but evidently it's getting close:

great news
Can't wait - I am already using their remote desktop HD on android .
apparently out today - I've just bought a copy. Requires the use of a desktop streamer tho, so might not be your cuppa tea. Haven't finished installing yet but the reviews so far are nearly all 5/5 stars
I picked it up this morning. I've only tried it over the Internet so far because my work machine is on a private network while my TouchPad is only allowed on the guest network at work. Performance is still decent, but I've heard that on a LAN it screams (e.g., streaming video/audio works well). I'll set that up with my home machines in a bit.
I've seen a few people complaining about paying $10 for it...good lord...most of us paid $100-150 for the tablet and this effectively turns it into a portable remote terminal for $10! I know mobile computing apps have kind of redefined what we perceive as "value" with $0.99 apps, but if you're looking for a remote desktop-type app and this one isn't worth $10 for you, I'm really not sure what to tell you...
agreed SCWells72 - when I upgraded from PCAnywhere 11 to 12 back in the day so I could get the mobile app for my iPAQ that was about a hundred bucks, so spending $10 (about 7 quid in the UK) is peanuts. You're right - this is the last piece I needed for webOS to tick all my boxes.
Not yet sure if SplashTop supports file transfer, but that would be a massive advantage if it does!
Do anyone find that splashtop streamer too much of a resource hog? Unlike rdp, my computer is really slow.
Anyone know about what happened to 2x client?
Would be great if there was a linux alternative

Hmm. Would appreciate feedback as planning to run it as a service on underpowered Windows Home Server box...!

No file transfer and it does scream locally. I have tried it on my isp's public wifi (my cable company offers g wifi across its footprint to customers) and found it very usable. Though Chrome browser and the two finger scrolling is PITA.
Going away with the wife and have decided that between smartphone and the touchpad, it will be enough tech to carry.

I stupidly bought the sling app on the marketplace. Apparantly Dish offers a free app for the sling adapter but they don't have one for windows phone. The one I paid for does see their device but is asking for admin password to device. Has anyone messed with this to get it to work? Would have been nice to watch tv at work for the last hour of the day when next to nothing is happening.
