Brother in law got a m500 with the original uk ornage rom on it. He downloaded an ornage upgrade from oranch.ch and started the upgrade process IN VISTA.
It went into bootloader mode and then came up with an error message.
When it resets now it goes through all the setup and installs all the software and customisations and then crashes back into bootloader mode.
we have tried all sorts of combinations now using my xp computer:
Using no_id with orange.ch rom, qtek, imate, tmobile rom, with USB on and off and also the tmobile radio upgrade too.
THe closest we can get is country id error when upgrading a rom.
On the radio upgrade it hangs at 0% giving error 114
Anybody got any ideas?

I have a M2000 which started to up the Orange NL ExtRom version 1.40.230. When I ran the app it went into bootloader mode (USB/v2.07)but BaUpgradeUT reports Error 101 and Exits.
Sooo, I downloaded the original shipping ROM and tried with that - same result, then tried using MaUpgradeUt_noID in the same folder as the original ROM - as it ignores the information that is reported back (apparently none in my case). It tells me on the next screen that it is upgrading from <blank> to <blank> - worrying. Click Upgrade and I get Error 150: ROM Upgrade Utility Error. Try to do the same with the 1.40 ROM by locating the temporary files for the .exe and running MaUpgradeUt_noID from there - same error.
It's now stuck in bootloader mode...I didn't put anything on to this before, so I can't see how the operator code would be overwritten.
Much as the M2000 works as a desk paperweight, I'd rather find a way of pushing a viable image onto it and getting it back working. Any suggestions as I am running a C500 as a replacement and going nuts with it's lack of, well, anything...

P.S. Even another ROM that will load onto it would be useful, so that I can get it back into a state where I can mess around with it again...
do you have a firewall and antivirus installed?
if i would disable them then try flashing again, I got my c500 stuck in bootloader mode after trying to sim unlock it with firewall and antivirus running
disabled them and re-ran the sim unlock and it worked, so hopfully it is the same problem as you are getting with the rom

During a rom update of my mda compact my computer stopped.
After a reboot i tried to reinstall the rom and it fails.
I get the error 101 connection error or 150 not a valid update utility.
On my MDA i see a t-mobile screen with in the right down corner no gsm and D1.01.01 GER
Soft and hard resets have no result at all...
Anyone have a solution for this problem?

i get the error 150: rom upgrade utility error when i try radio rom 1.11 when i try lower or higher versions i get the 101 cannot connect error....

Hello and good afternoon, I'm a beginner and i've read a whole lot and decided today i'd take the plung and upgrade my qtek9100 to wm6,current status of my phone=NOT WORKING(sorta).
Rom version = 1.1.7.5
Rom Date = 9/22/05
Radio version= 01.01.10
Protocol ver = 4.0.13.16
ExtROM Ver = 1.1.7.105
downloaded TNT 1437 Series Pro+home and i ran the upgrade (oh my phone was brought unlocked) all was going fine it went to 99% then exit with communication error, i followed the recovery info and tried again and again, then i tried 3 other ROMs and still the same error occurs, my phone is now stuck at the 3 color bars from the recovery process and it wont upgrade to wm6.. update i then downloaded XDA_Mobile_6_r2a_Lite and installed it and all went fine, the thing is this isnt a wm6 it's wm5 so i'm back to where i started.. can anyone please tell me what i've done wrong and how i should go about getting my phone upgraded to wm6, i actually want to use the TNT roms..

Wm6 Roms can only be upgraded if you have an IPL/SPL 2.xx,as I can see from your present Rom version 1.1.7.5,you must be having IPL/SPL 1.xx,therefore,it's not possible to upgrade to wm6,untill and unless you upgrade your phone to IPL/SPL 2.xx.
First flash T-mobile 2.26 to upgrade to 2.xx and then flash any wm6 rom.

be sure that unlock means both "cid and sim" unlock, because sometimes it is network unlocked only, you can use your device with different networks using different simcards, to flash a rom you need the device cid unlocked, read the guides

Are u sure your phone is CID unlocked? use the wizard service tool to be sure. U can download the t-mobile ROM here: http://www.t-mobile.com/wmupgrade/ You need to have a t-mobile phone number. If u dont know any, PM me, and ill let u use mine, u dont have to pay, its just to make sure that ur a t-mobile customer.

XM6R2a is NOT wm5...if you "installed" it and you are still on wm5 then your phone is NOT cid unlocked which is probably what the communication error (302?) was trying to tell you in the first place. Follow the "how to flash a wizard" guides that are a sticky at the top of the forum.
Hey thanks to everyone who have been offering information, my progress so far, i've CID unlocked my phone and i reinstalled the pro+home wm6 and all is working, except i cant use my camera, cause i dont have enough memory as is replied by the os, i'm going to try the t-mobile updated as pointed out in a previous post.

I have a sprint 6700 and have tried to flash to VZW with zero success. I have tried everything I could think of...
Found the sprint msl with getspc no problem.
Downloaded the vzw latest aku3.3 rom, won't install.
Tried to install in bootloader and not in bootloader mode.
Tried different roms and none work (official sprint ROM loads fine)
Tried BuildOS with noid and get the same error.
I have ver 102 bootloader and have tried with activesync on and tried with activesync disabled.
I never get past the first screen. I get "Error 120 Country ID Error" window and only option is exit. I looked here, ppcgeeks, pdaphonehome, and google and have not come up with any solutions....
This seems to be an impossible thing, to change from sprint to verizon....
Any thoughts or ideas????

i had a win 6.5 rom loaded and it worked fine
but for some wierd reason i wanted to downgrade it to the original win5 rom
when i was at 55% my 1 year old sun pulled the usb cable

Don't give up hope. As long as you can get the bootloader screen, you should be able to burn a rom. Try the CR96 WM6.5 ROM, in my signature, which if I remember right comes with a Vista RUU. If it doesn't, search this forum for Vista RUU, which I have found to work well for installing ROMs from the bootloader, in XP or Vista. I don't know about Windows 7, since I have never had it.

after running the update the startup screen of the phone changed from t-mobile to a HTC logo and after that it shows the bootloader and nothing more

edit: i found a file with t-mobile g4 ipl/spl after i loaded that one
ipl changed to 2.26.001 spl stayed 2.26.001 but stil no respnce to loading roms
i found a threat where they where talking about the love rom
i downloaded it and uploaded it to the phone and everything was back online and i could do anything again with the phone
