help with cab's

hi guys ive searched the forum with no result so here goes
ive download
Windows Live 10.6.0034.0800 (Fixed)
for my vario 3 but when i extract it comes up 57 files
how do i install these on my device????
any help would be great

what file do i click to install out of the ones that are extracted coz theirs like 50 odd of them?

you don't have to extract the cab file, just copy the cab to your device
and start file explorer - click it and the setup will start...
cabs are similar to setup.exe's on desktop computers, just for ppc

You DO NOT unpack a cab file! NO! NO! you just transfer the whole cab file to your phone by transferring it to a card or by synchronizing it using activesync! Whatever you do, don't unpack file. It will install itself once it is transferred to phone.
(sorry, was not quick enough to answer...he's beaten me to it! )

Use enclosed software which is great thanks to modaco.com
after installation, in the file manager right click on the cab file that you wan to install then you will see the menue CABviaActiveSync (device must be connected)

searched quite a bit - rar that will not install

Been searching a couple days how to install rar files on to my Verizon XV6900 vogue with WM6.1. I am attaching one of the files I am tring to install, for general help. I can seem to install in activesync, from withing sorage card, etc.

Unless you have pocket Rar installed on you device you cant install as its zipped. Download a free RAR extractor on your PC, unpack it and you will find your CAB or files inside...... simply copy them/it to your PPC and voila

I did zip the file to upload it, the forum would not accpt it in rar form. When I put the rar on my device ((XV6900 vogue verizon) WM6.1 ROM 3.14.605.1), I was able to unpack it but there was no cab. I upoaded it tthinking somebody would check the contents and help me out.

Sorry about that Dave, i mis-understood what you were trying to do It would help me if u gave me the link where you got the rar file as it would probably contain instructions as to where on ur device you need to copy the unzipped files to (like /windows etc). Let me know where you got the rar file from.

All I was basicall looking for for my phone was the Diamond Theme and the diamond dialer. I 'm pretty new to modifying my phones. I did flash the rom to the magicflo but went back. Is there a way to just THEME my current rom?

REQ: Manila 2.6 files please

a person posted below that if someone can be kind enough to upload all the manila files from their windows folder on their rom then he can create a cab out of them for everybody else to use.
Please please please will someone do this or tell me how to take apart a rom to do it, this would open up 2.6 to most people who own any HTC phone, not just topaz, like me, Rhodium

That would be a very great .CAB file if it exists or someone has the knowledge to create it !

... or the OEM package for people like me who, although they have tried until they are blue in the face, just can not create a successful OEM from a CAB.

i can if someone using the rom just posts the files here..copy all the _manila files frm the wqindows folder and post them here in a zip file

problem is i dont have it, do you know if its possible to nick it out of a cooked rom? then ill open one up and try and take the files from there for you?

I actually can help but my internet is too slow.
The only thing you need to do is to flash this udk Leo R1 WM6.5 ROM and then copy the Windows file to storage card, zip it and upload it here or send it to rotastrain to make a cab.

I have udk Leo R1 WM6.5 ROM, but dont have Topaz, how can i find Manila 2.6 files in this rom without flashing?

flash udks rom
copy windows folder to strage card.
copy it to the pc
zip it
post it!
i take it apart.rebuild..

im also Topazless as i have a Rhodium, someone out there has to have a rhodium or a kitchen must be able to extract them?

You have to extract the Opera9 file and copy directly to Windows.
It is all.

Hi, what you have said is a bit vague. the extrated file from the download is an exe file so dnt i need to run it once i copy it over? and what windows directory? do you mean the windows folder on the device memory? not the opera9 folder in the windows directory?
so your asking i copy the exe file into the windows folder on the device memory and just run the exe? is that what i do?
please explain properly (full file path and instructions)

Yes you have to copy Opera9 file to the Windows device memory, then you will be asked to overwrite, so you should tam yes.
Afterthat you can normally run Opera web browser but in new version.

Much faster doing what? Page loading times are about your internet connection are they not?

I copied the file overiding the original and when I try to start opera, it says "Opera Loader" with a red cross which when pressed it exits...
Any thoughts?

I deleted the existing Opera.exe file from the Windows folder and copied this one, but the app won't start. I think it has something to do with the attributes of the new exe file. The ROM attribute is ghosted. Any ideas?

Procedure is clear to me. Just overwrite .exe file with new .exe file
But to spare me hazzle and spending one day to revert: does this change my opera-settings which I tweaked in operaconfig or goof them by incompatibility ?
Does this new build support flash better than the old one ?
What EXACTLY can the new build better than the old one ?

I have similar questions,my opera is skinned and as troed mentioned
several operaconfig tweaks including having moved the Cache.
Anyone know whether these will all need re-doing if we upgrade
to newer version ?
In short is it worth the effort just to have a different version number ?

I and others using the whole package. I have not tried only the .exe

Hey Bobsbbq, do you mean the thumbnail not populating a page image? If so, yes I have. The only way I've found to get the image to show up is to open each favorite site in IE.

looking for millionaire2010 demo cab file

Can someone please send me the millionaire demo cab file all links I have found are dead. I have my cab file to make it full version but it requires the demo be installed first.

Just copy it to your SD card in \Storage Card\Program Files\Capcom\Millionaire2010Demo. Why do you need a cab to do that?

if thats an .exe that has the .cab for it inside, use the program called universal extractor to take the .cab out the exe and your all set.
