Windows Mobile 2006 Skin for Wisbar in WM2005 - General Topics

Hey all,
I really like the embossed title and bottom bars on the windows 2006 mobile interface. Always thought it was a very simple, yet creative step up in design.
I don't like most wisbar skins because they are filled with useless icons, functions, and things I don't use.
Is there a way to get Windows mobile 2005 to look like windows mobile 2006?
Thanks for the help.

Bump.
Anyone?
A wisbar skin?
A installation file?
Nobody's done this yet?

Very simple now. Just get the beta copy of wisbar advance 3 from their forums. The default theme being used in it is crossbow

Windows Mobile 6 Style Bars on WM5?

I would like to know if there is a way or a theme out there that makes your start and status bars look like the rounded windows mobile 6 on a WM5 os. I've tried several I found around the web and they just make the colors but don't change the shape. Still boxy WM5 style.
The only way I know to make it as close as possible to have WM6 is to use wisbar advance which is a task/theme manager and then download one of skins in the forums, like the WM6 theme which is pretty close to making it look glossy like that

i think it describes itself. just disable cleatype.
ya that's what I'm talking about! thanks!
hey but it shows up in running programs, so everytime i do "stop all" it stops running, so can anybody tell how to hide it from running programs.
Personally I would just install WM6- it's fairly easy, bug free (with crossbow 1.5, at least from my experience), and works WAY better than WM5, feature and performance wise.
But yeah, I used to use wisbar in WM5, but honestly it's not worth it...

Have any of you completely ditched Touch Flo in favor of any other software?

I totally love touch flo but I am not sold that it is anything but eye candy and that other software overlays for WM6.1 might be better.
I was curious if there are people out there who have jettisoned touchflo in favor of something else, and what is that else?
Thanks for your opinions, input and software suggestions.
i go back and forth between wad and manilla
I googled WAD and was soured by what Google thinks I was referencing. )
What are you referencing? Manilla is TouchFlo right, but where does hte manilla come from? What is WAD?
WAD is Wisbar Advance Desktop, here you go:

There are a lot of nice skins for WAD.
ufufu got it for you
yes manilla is "touch flo"
manilla comes from htc but has been reverse engineered by some developers on xda.

i added wad to pda V10 and cant get it to work.. i disabled tf in today but wad still wont display weather etc..
its just a black screen
i really like the look of what wad is supposed to be..
any help is greatly appreciated
thanx
i see it the same way.. Manila2D/TF3D is good only for having your PDA look cool. it's not as useful as a PDA could get.
I set my UltimateLaunch to be as useful as i could using FEWidgets/Makecall (for speed dialing)/Rumball's weather/some internet icons and a networking plugin... and so forth.
..
How do you feel wisbar advanced desktop comapres to SPB pocket plus, do you have any experience?
Glad to hear I am not alone with tf3d not being the ultimate in work horses, I will look into ultimate launch.
by blank screen does it actually look like a blank screen, or does it look like there is nothing on your today screen. wisbar has to be completely designed by hand, or you have to download a theme file.
go here for a theme and tutorial i have put together.......

I have the same question and thoughts - perhaps WAD or SPB mobile shell would be a better fit b/c of the greater potential for customization. Can anyone comment on the memory usage / responsiveness between tf2d and WAD or tf2d and SPB mobile shell?
the opposite here. i used to have ultimateLaunch, but when Manila (TF3D) was born, ditched UL and now I am a happy manila user... love the changing themes every now and then, and everything else that comes with it, e.g. great graphics (rain animation is nice) and the close to no maintenance. manila is a little less flexibile the UL, but, pros overcome cons, for me at least.

[wm6.5] Today screen

Titanium today is very cool, but is there another transparent today screen for wm6.5 apart from Manila 2d?
Thanks
Dunno what else you could mean by transparent but there is also Pointui spb mobile and wisbar. They are not so easy to work with. Spb mobile I think, is the easiest and Pointui can be very attractive.

A 1 + for pointui
Throttlelauncher is a good option, you can configure it at your own taste using themes (even Iphone, Android, TF3D, BB, GSmart imitations or some themes specially made by a person or for a person with some useful and nice aspects) or taking some of the themes and making your own one. You can add widgets, flash, and WM-Today plugins into the panels of ThrottleLauncher.
You can do a search here in xda-dev's or go to www.throttlelauncher.com
* NOTE * I experienced some problems running TL if my device is low of memory *BUT* I continue using and recommending it (and trying to put it into my cooked ROMs) - I run it with Kaiser and with Herald both WM6.5.1 now.

Yes, some of the TL themes do have transparent toolbars depending of the PNG's that the theme uses. As they are capable to disable the toolbars of WM you can use full screen themes with their own (or without any) toolbars - where they can be configured as the theme developer, or the user, like to.
Moved this thread outside of Dev and Hacking where it did not belong.
transparancy is possible in wm6.5, means what you want is practically can be done.
Thnx a lot for your replies friends.
In fact i was looking for new today screen with transparent taskbar.
Throttlelauncher can be very good. Will give this a try.

iPhone, transitions.

Hi!
Iv'e noticed that the iPhone aint that fast if you compare with some Windows Mobile phones, it just have fancy transitions, like when u click on a button it animates to the other "window". Is there any way I can have these transitions in my Windows Mobile 6.5? Like these : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QNCb1IdmJ_0

There is a program that you can download and try it out before you buy it called Wisbar Advance Desktop. Its themeable and I used to use it a lot. It has transitions in it and you can find different wad (theme) files here on XDA.
Wisbar Advance Desktop

Also check out this thread for this theme for Wisbar. I had it running on my phone and it is beautiful.

Shell/UI for Windows 6.1

Okay, I'm getting bored with SPB mobile shell, so can anyone suggest an alternative? Free is perferred, and I would like it to have a level of integration on par with mobile shell.
Thanks!
http://www.throttlelauncher.com/
it's free
enjoy!
Thanks for the quick reply! I tried ThrottleLauncher with an HTC TouchFLO skin/theme, but found it WAAY too slow on my SCH-i760 Perhaps 10FPS.
EDIT: something like Androkkid would be neat. I tried Androkkid for a period and found it very blocky and not anti-ailised, and wasn't fond of the loading time.
I'll be trying iFonz, but I'm not a big fan of the iTouch/iPhone UI.
EDIT2: Nah, iFonz and Winterface are a bit too hard to change the icons/what they do. What I'm looking for is something free that imitates the Windows Mobile 6.0 for non-touchscreen phones sliding panel <-MyHome. That's what it's called! Trying to find a free MyHome lookalike for WinMo6.1 Professional
Have you checked out Wisbar Advance Desktop? There's a fair amount of members here use it as an SPB MS alternative:
