my wizard is dead :( - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario ROM Development

Hardware problems are moving me to the Hermes forum
Thanx to all that invested so much time and effort in helping myself and others. From the wizard early days late in 2005, to the amazing ROM kitchens that exist today.

Just to say a big thanks to mUnrus and the community!

Yes...a BIG thanks to all and aspecially guys like mUnrus who spend all their time coding and compiling the latest goodies for us geeks!
I own a Trinity myself (WM6-GPS by LVSW), bur yesterday my collegue's Wizard needed an upgrade. So i said to the poor guy: "Whoa! Let's hack the darn thing and get you WindowsMobile 6"...
After some well spent hours on the forum and the Wiki for the Wizard i was able to determine wether it was a G3 or G4 device he had, found out how to CID unlock this baby and ultimately we picked our choice from the plethora of nice WM6 ROM's that's out here... After 3 complete ROM flashes and the SIM and CID unlocking procdure, we've got a beautifull Wizard running WM6 by mUn (the NotTooSmart fixed version) fast and smoothly...
The Sticky posts and the Wiki were all so helpfull and crystalclear, that i didn't have to go and ask nOOb-questions anywhere... I'm not really a nOOb myself, cause i'm pretty used to flashing my own phones every now and then with the latest and greatest, but a Wizard was a completely new cup of tea for me (with the G3/G4 versions). So it proved to be a bit more work than just a single flash like my own phones, but with all the great tutorials i never went wrong on a single step of the whole procedure... Great stuff guys!
So my collegue run's WM6 on his Wizard (which had the oldest possible ROM on there... :i guess he is a nOOb to this stuff...) as from now, and he's very happy with it...
Ofcourse i didn't forget to tell him to upgrade AS to 4.5 before he could re-sync his device with Outlook, and within minutes after getting home he messaged me that his Wizard was back in business.
So, GUYS...! I wanna say a BIG thanks again to all who made all of this possible! Like mUn (and the other chefs) and all people who write these great tutorials... !
THNX !
Just like the idea of this thank you post.
so i like to thank everyone for joining in on this project and adding
there 2 cents
which in the end makes us richer and more fortunate
never i my 20 years of computerlife i would have thought that one would
make a device so much faster then my C64 and so much processingpower
in it that we probably wont use it 99% of the time.. lol
anyways i live for the moment this stuff being integrated in my wrist watch

Thanks to all the Wizard forum members!

All,
Just wanted to add my thanks to all the talented people who roam these forums ! I've benefited greatly from your work. Particular thanks to faria who provided me with working ROMs when I was beginning to wonder if I should just go buy another phone. Also to funman who guided me through building my own Roms when I thought that was beyond my skills.
I'm heading over to the Hermes forums now. A friend gave up on figuring his out and so he sold it to me for $200 (he didn't know about xda-developers!). I couldn't pass that up! I hope the guys over there are as nice !
Best wishes to you all!

You're in good company over there...
A few of us are in the Hermes FORUM, myself and Jose included.
Jump in, the water's fine!
See you there
Got myself a hermes today. Insurance company typo so got a vario 2 instead of 1 .
Just flashed olipro hard spl followed by pro black 3. Happy days
Helpful bunch too
Great to hear!
I've gotten off to a terrific start thanks to the Hermes forums. Installed Custel 2.5 WM6 and I'm back to almost the same setup that I had on my Wizard. I was very happy to find most everything transfered over (PocketBreeze, iLauncher, PocketWeather, phonealarm, rlToday, IM+, muns keyboard skin, and the JPL big button phone dialer !! About the only thing missing is BatteryStatus. The FAQ says there's no overclocking software for the Hermes?
And the speed using 3G! WOW!!! Absolutely worth it !!
To everyone that has a hermes,
There are already offical WM6 versions out.. maybe you should test some first before you brick your phone... i dont mean to sound the way it does but i'm still hoping t-mobile or at&t are gonna release an offical Wm6 for my MDA.. so i do haev to say good luck to everyone with there new hermes

I did. The first thing I did upon receiving the phone was load the official Cingular WM6 rom on it. Given that there was a WM6 for the hermes, I thought that maybe I'd just stick with that version.
However, I ran into some small annoyances (activesync problems) and it was missing some software apps that I gotten used to having (Task Manager as an example), so that's when I decided to try one of the "unofficial" roms. I did my homework and read through the load process and basically followed the instructions. Custel focuses on making Cingular compatible roms, so it was a good fit for my needs.
I guess I was very cautious about installing custom roms when I first got my wizard (prior to my hermes). But after all the annoyances with it (daily soft-resets, monthly hard-resets, ongoing network problems, etc., etc.), if I hadn't installed one, I would have given up on the phone. Another example of that: I got my hermes because a friend got fed up with it and got a Treo instead. From installing custom roms, I got into customizing them myself using faria's kitchen apps.
It's not for everyone and I understand that, but I've greatly benefited from the efforts of the guys who work so hard to build these custom roms !

[Farewell] Duttys farewell to kaiser for now

Hi guy's its been a fun joy ride with you guy's here on the kaiser community since my cooking days. I have made quite a few roms some which was really appreciated by most of my supporters but I GOT MY HTC DIAMOND YESTERDAY and I have not been really motivated from recently to cook for kaiser as I think I have reach the maximun limit of testing and flashing with my kaiser. Also very disapointed with kaiser official WM6.1 which I think its just a joke, so I have gone back to a old rom which I'm still using on my kaise APR 29th NON-CUBE.
Just want to say thanks for everyione who have supported and contributed to my hard work and apologise if sometimes I dont get to reply to emails earlier , Its just that I have been really busy with work and looking for a new work and its a busy time for me. I'm not really good at words but just want to say thanks to all the devs, and peeps on this great site.
My last diamond rom had couple of bugs which i did fix but my great vista machine decided not to start one day and had to re-flash vista so all that work was gone, so i apologise again for not continuing that diamond build.
hey man....good work you will be missed in the kaiser community.
Thanks for the great roms, and enjoy your Diamond you lucky bastard.

Thanks for your great work. I look forward to some new Diamond ROM under that section. I will be getting my Diamond soon!

Thanks dutty for your work, i think your roms are the best... But... Too bad you won't finish that bugfix on your latest rom, i was waiting for it to try it. Once and againt htc created limitless device with limiting support. But thanks to you is this device better.

Thx for your greate work bro.
Hope to see some good Diamond roms from you.
DUTTYKING.. stay cool and thx for your work. looking forward to try your work on another phoney one day. Diamond is not for me, but maybe touchpro or xperia?
Dutty, many thanks for all your great work, I have used your ROMs almost exclusively on my Kaiser. I'm sad to hear you will probably not be released a fix for your latest ROM (which I'm running now), but I'm very happy to see you moving on the Diamond, which I also have
You were always my preferred cook
Thanks for all the GREAT and too many WM6 & WM6.1 Kaiser ROMs.
I really wanted you wait and buy the touch pro so we can have dutty roms there
Enjoy your new Diamond

Your roms are very well thought out.....great job!!!
I wonder when the diamond will be around the USA.....Good Luck with your new device...
Thanks Again
Mike
Our loss is the diamond crew's game. We knew this day was coming, but it's always sad when it gets here. Thanks for all the hard work you put in over here for all of us. Best of luck in what lies ahead for you.
Thanks for all the time and effort you have put into getting our Kaiser's running as well as they can. Hope your departure doesn't signal the beginning of the end for Kaiser development - a lot of the other "movers and shakers" seem to have migrated across recently.
As said above, hope to see you again in the Touch Pro forum....
Farewell gesture heading your way....
You'll be sorely missed buddy! You did awesome work here in this forum and quite a lot of us really appreciated that. Our loss, Diamond forum's gain...
Thank you!!! You did me and my Kaiser very happy with your roms
Thanks for everything man your roms were the only roms I flashed for a long time. We will miss you, may be it is time for me to upgrade to dimond too .

cmonex on CDMA TP2hspl at PPC Geeks

Hi guys,
Great news! It seems the Rhodium Elite Project Team is about deliver HardSPL for CDMA TP2 . You can read more about it here:
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showpost.php?p=1206570&postcount=73
Regards,
I saw this earlier at PPC Geeks as well. I almost wet myself. I wonder how long it will take them to fix the radio issue they are having. It would be great if we could have this by the end of the weekend. Definitely will be checking the status numerous times through out the day. It will almost be like having a new phone all over again.
I'd say about 10 days from now including testing.
Should be start a pool on the release date?

Thanks Everyone.

Hi all,
I just wanted to say thanks to all the chefs, I have had my Fuze since December 2008 and have enjoyed having and workin with the Fuze, especially the great ROM's from this forum.
Recently I was given an opportunity to change phones at work. (All on their tab) and I decided I wanted a smaller phone since I almost never used the keyboard of the Fuze so I opted for the HTC Pure. So I will be looking for Rom's over in that Sub Area. So as I retire my Fuze to it's box I just want to Thank Arup, NotATreoFan, Da_G and all the other members of the Raphael for all the great work and effort they put into making my Fuze work as best as it possibly could. I hope I will find people as great as them in the Topaz forum fo my PURE.
Thank You again.
Peter
