CID unlock with OS 1.0.13.21 - JAMin, XDA Neo, S200 Software Upgrading

My Dopod818 Pro came shipped with OS version 1.0.13.21 how do I know if it's CID unlocked already?
The wiki states to look for the OS version 1.0.13.21 to determine the unlocking of the CID. Is there any other way to see it?

Did you run the cid unlock program as the instructions given in wiki? If so, where did you download (cid unlock program) it? The wiki link for this file no longer works, because it was removed.
If you see that rom (1.0.13.21) on a device you purchased, all it means is that you have an old rom installed. Upgrade to a newer rom.
Probably, you didn't run the real cid unlock program. That unlock program is based on the old rom, but it's NOT the old rom for regular use, in that condition. That's why at end of the real unlock program, you verify the rom 1.0.13.21, ONLY to know you completed the unlock program correctly. Then you upgrade to current rom of choice.
If you can get the true cid unlock program referred to in wiki, first you upgrade to a later rom, to get off the installed rom 1.0.13.21. Then, perform the cid unlock process mentioned in wiki, using the doctored unlock rom, which will be shown as 1.0.13.21, if completed properly.
Finally, if you do all that, upgrade rom to newer rom of choice with your now cid unlocked device.

G4 Prophet CID unlock through www.imei-check.co.uk ?

Hi, guys, has anyone tried to do the SIM unlock AND CID unlock with your prophet through http://www.imei-check.co.uk/?
Some guys from wizard forum did unlock from that website. And I just got confirmed by an email from http://www.imei-check.co.uk/, read as following,
------------------
Hello,
our service will remove SIM and CID lock from ANY device with ANY firmware and ANY chipset (G3 and G4). After unlocking you can use ANY SIM card and you can flash ANY compatible HTC standard firmware (2.xxxx in your case).
To unlock XDA Neo just follow the XDA Neo unlock link:
http://www.imei-check.co.uk/m600unlock.php
Regards,
IMEI-CHECK Team
---------------------
Since my device is a G4, and it is impossible to unlock it by any other free solutions. So, I am wondering if I should give it a try with this website?
Actually, I have no problem upgrading to other ROM (like the recent QTEK WWE) with no-vendor ID RUU. But every time when I wanted to try a new ROM, I was kind of nervous and was afriad to brick my phone. CID unlock will certainly ease my mind and give me advantages and brave to try more ROMs.
I am sure a free solution for this is on its way and won't take long.
I can use my prophet with different operators. This means that my pda' s sim is unlocked! How can i know that my pda's CID is unlocked?
If you have a G4 (ipl ending with .0001) then it's not unlocked. (sim lock is not cid lock as you probably already figured hehe )
If you have a G3 however it's probably not unlocked too, but you have check the wiki how to unlock it. Maybe there is some infor there too how to check if it's unlocked yes or no? Since I have a G4 I don't know that
Back on topic, I dunno if it's worth the money to CID unlock a phone there. It could be handy if you do a lot of upgrading and want to downgrade or anything.
But as said, people are already busy with a free solution to CID unlock a G4, cause if they can do it we should be able to get around it too
It writes IPL 2.09
SPL 2.09.0000
GSM 02.07.20
OS 2.9.4.30
ıs it G4 or G3?

I guess you are right. But do you know if people are still working on G4 unlocking? It's been a long time. I thought they have given up already.
Well, I have absolutely no idea to be honest But I just assume they do since it's pretty important with all the rom upgrading going around.
It would be perfect if you upgrade with a not so good rom etc and I guess developers of homecooked roms would like it too.

Could you give some more info on how to do that or post a link? I have a G4 Prohphet and couldn't upgrade to QTEK WWE ROM. Thanks!

The protocol was proposed by Looking Glass, so, all the credits should go to him. I modified a little bit based on his procedure as following,
- Decompress and run the exe file (RUU_Prophet_220734_2207114_024721_QTEK_WWE_Ship.exe). Don't close your grey installing window.
- Locate the just created temporary directory, something like:
C:\Documents and settings\username\local settings\temp\rarXX , or pftxx or the like (look by time/date, it's, something created one minute before your current time)
- Copy the full directory and contents to somewhere else in your PC.
- Close the still opened grey window
- get ROMUpdateUtility_NoID.exe from the forum, and copy to the directory you just moved to your pc (You can get it from the ftp). Copy the ROMUpdateUtility_NoID.exe to your "new" directory, replace the original ROMUpdateUtility.exe.
- from this "new" directory you copied in your PC, execute ROMUpdateUtility_NoID.exe
That's it. Simple and easy.

Touchflo roms in T-Mobile MDA Vario Problem

Hey guys,
I am a new comer in this forum. I have been trying to update my T-mobile MDA vario for quite sometime now. I have read almost all the guides and instructions in this site. But I don't know what problem I am having. I tried both TNT.1437.Wizard.Touch and TNT.1921_Wizard_TouchFLO roms. In both case the flashing got stuck at 99% and then showed an error 302. then I had to get back to my shipped 2.21 original rom and try again. I also tried XM6r3 rom. I don't understand what I am doing wrong. Please can anybody help me!!! in the guide I was told to flash with 2.26 rom. But whenever I try it it shows invalid vendor id error. ???? What to do now. Is it impossible to upgrade to WM6 in T-Mobile MDA vario. (I CID unlocked my phone following the guide) Any help will be highly appreciated. thanks
MDA vario comes CID locked.. Unlock CID..search for WST... wizard service tool and unlock CID first.
irisiris is mostly right, if you get the invalid vendor id error then you're probably still CID lock. You said that you CID unlocked it already, but it might not have taken. The part he was wrong about though is that WST can't CID unlock your phone, you need lokiwiz to do that which I'm assuming you already knew. However, WST can tell you if you're CID unlocked or not. Just run it on your computer and click the CID actions button and it will tell you if you're CID unlocked or not for sure.
EDIT: Actually I was wrong, mestrini did add CID unlocking to the latest version of WST. Sorry irisiris.
you guys are right I finally CID unlocked my device. I checked it with WST and it said it is unlocked. Now I am in XDA mini rom with IPL/SPL 1.05. now I tried to flash with official tmobile 2.26 rom. but I still get the invalid vendor error. Now what to do????
In case you haven't solved your problem yet, download this file. If the T-Mobile 2.26 is still in the single executable type file that it was when you downloaded it, use either winzip or winrar to extract it to it's individual components then extract this file and allow it to replace the file it needs to replace in the folder you extracted the t-mobile ROM to. Then, just double click on the file to start the flash. Just in case, the name of the file you're going to double click on is named ROMUpdateUtility_Wizard_NoID. This should solve the invalid vendor error.

Quick questions!

I just got my ATT tilt, and am new to this forum. I have been surfing around this forum and read the wiki and FAQs about flashing ROMs, unlocking etc. I don't know if I understand some of the information correctly. Here is some quick questions that puzzling me:
1. When you unlock the CID with the SuperCID program, does that unlock the SIM also? or do you need to unlock the SIM separately if you unlocked the CID?
2. For the use of service from a certain carrier, like mine is ATT right now, is it correct that only the Radio Rom version matters, while the ROM and SPL just need to be compatible with the Radio?
3. If I just want to unlock CID, and get rid of the bloatware come from ATT. can I use jockyw2001's method to unlock CID and later flash the extracted ROM , SPL and Radio back or flash the latest HTC rom and replace with the original Radio that come with my ATT tilt?
My Tilt out of box:
OS: WM 6.1 professional, 5.2.19214 (build 19214.1.0.4)
ROM version: 3.57.502.2 WWE (3.57.00.00 while doing camera+soft reset)
Radio: 1.65.21.18
The tri-color mode reads:
KAIS1*0
SPL-3.56.0000
CPLD-8
1. No, it only unlocks the CID part (hardspl).
2. Not sure what you mean, but some radios are not compatible with certain ROMs (you'll get intermittent sound and no camera picture).
3. You can always revert back.
Thanks for the quick reply.

[Q] Downgrading / Interop Unlock for HD7 / Edit: Custom ROMs How-to Help

Hi,
I'm attempting to Interop Unlock my HTC HD7.
I've just run a restore in Zune, but it appears that the earliest restore gives me:
OS version: 7.10.7720.68
Firmware revision number: 2250.21.51002.728
Hardware revision number: 0002
Radio software version: 5.71.09.02a_22.51.50.21U
Radio hardware version: A.102.0.D4
Bootloader version: 5.10.2250.0(132968)
Chip SOC version: 2.2.5.0
I understand that if I have a Firmware revision number of 5xxxx, I cannot run the Interop Unlock as seen in this thread.
From what I see, it is possible for me to download a Stock ROM, in my case, this, and run that to downgrade my Firmware revision number.
I would just like to clarify before I start this process. Is the above information correct, and to run the Stock ROM, do I simply enter Bootloader Mode, start the .exe as downloaded from the thread, and let it run (seems too simple to me)?
Also, should I manage to get Interop Unlock working on a Firmware revision number of 4xxxx, would the Interop Unlock stick once I update the phone (is normal Zune update even possible after that)?
Thanks.
Be very careful. Since you have bootloader 5.xx
Pretty sure downgrading like that will brick your device. You have to use a y-cable. Last I heard, ive had my hd7 unlocked for a while not sure of newer ways.
Look for the downgrading spl thread in hd7 development. I think that's where it is.
After downgrade spl. I would just install hard-spl and flash a custom rom. Easier.
Sent from my HD7 T9292 using XDA Windows Phone 7 App
Thanks for the reply. Didn't know about the Bootloader thing, fortunately I didn't go ahead with it yet.
I was under the impression that if the ROM is the official ROM for my region (SEA, Singapore, 728), I wouldn't require any modifications to the SPL.
I don't want to mess with the SPL or the bootloader though, I've bricked enough devices (not WP7) to have a phobia of such things. Guess I'll have to wait for a breakthrough in unlocking, unless someone has any other methods.
If you want to be absolutely safe, GoldCard (which what @reeg420 meant when mentioning Y-cable) is the most reliable method.
However, I *think* you can actually downgrade to an older stock ROM just fine even with SPL 5.x. It just won't downgrade the SPL itself the way it normally would. You can't use RSPL on SPL 4.x or higher, which is why being able to downgrade the SPL is sometimes important (people who want to use custom ROMs need RSPL).
I suggest you do a bit more searching before deciding. I have not tried messing with SPL 5.x at all; I briefly had 4.x on my phone and promptly downgraded it to 3.1 again.
Thanks. I decided to go ahead with it, but got an error: "ERROR 226 (Flash Write - FLASH write error happened. Please check your PDA Phone)", which rebooted my phone. Phone appears to be okay though, not bricked.
Looks like I'll probably need to use a GoldCard?
Edit: So it appears that the earliest ROM that allows me to HSPL is this, which has the Bootloader 1.54.2250.0(112696). Could someone check my following steps and verify that I'm correct?
1. Get Y-Cable, USB Gender Changer, MicroSD+Card Reader
2. Get GoldCard Tool
3. Get GoldCard IMG, from this thread? "My custom goldcard.img"
4. Format MicroSD to FAT32
5. Place RUU_signed.nbh extracted from the aforementioned ROM with Bootloader 1.54.2250.0(112696), renamed to SCHUIMG.nbh
6. Run GoldCard Tool, ignore CID box, use GoldCard IMG, Patch MMC
7. Connect GoldCard, Y-Cable, phone, etc, etc, etc, patch phone
8. Get DFT's WP7FG3 from this thread
9. Install HSPL (or should I get RSPL? What is the difference?)
10. Find ROM of my choice (what do you recommend?)
11. Run selected ROM's ROMUpdateUtility.exe, flash device to new Custom ROM
Q1: What happens if the GoldCard process fails?
Q2: Is there any cons as to having an outdated Bootloader?
Q3: Am I able to upgrade my device with Official ROMs in the future after performing this, or must I simply use Custom ROMs from here?
Q4: Will having a Custom ROM affect my connectivity with my network?

Answer for Q1: it will definitely brick your device
Answer for Q2: no cons that may disturb you
Answer for Q3: yes, you're able to upgrade your device with official roms
Answer for Q4: no, as i use custom rom on my device, no connectivity problems
Wow, the GoldCard step looks incredibly daunting then. Guess I'll give this a shot. Will have to wait for the stuff to arrive from Amazon though, which will probably be a while given my location.
Thanks everyone for your input

Just got replacement HD7 from tmobile in the mail. Best way to unlock?

I had a HD7 and the charging port went so for 5 bucks I got a new one. I unlocked my old Hd7, but I have to idea how I did it, since it was so long ago.
What is the easiest way to get a full unlocked device these days?
Links would be appreciated, thanks!
Full-unlock requires a custom ROM. You'll almost certainly need to downgrade the bootloader (see the GoldCard threads on the dev& hacking sub-forum), then install HSPL and flash a custom ROM.
If you just want root-unlock (ability to run apps with max privileges on a stock ROM), that's also possible. You'll have to flash an older stock ROM, one with bootloader / firmware version 4.x or lower. You'll also need dev-unlock, so if you don't have an AppHub account (or a friend with one) this approach won't be practical. Anyhow, once you're dev-unlocked on firmware *.*.4XXXX.* or lower, install Heathcliff74's HTC Interop Unlock XAP and follow the instructions, then install WP7 Root Tools v0.9 and follow its instructions. After that, you'll be able to run almost all the homebrew apps and have read/write access to your whole device.
