... What exactly are you trying to get this phone to do? If your goal is to get it to work on a GSM network, gluing a SIM socket to the phone won't do anything - the radio in the phone is CDMA. Please describe your goal a bit better and we might be able to answer your question better.

re, VZ6700
yes im searching for ideas to che this cdma phone to work on gsm band
,yes i know ¨that glueing the sim slot eill do nothing!, im talking about changing freqency chip...to swith to 900\1800 band i thought is technicaly possible there is phones in the market have this!.
thanks for ur reply

U cant use it on GSM.. but u can use CDMA RUIM CARD on it...
RUim cards are used by service providors like China Unicom in CHina & Reliance Communications & Tata Indicomm in INDIA.

what to do?

I have an unlocked tp and i talked with verizon trying to set it up to use it on there network and they say i cant use it with them even tho i have the good esn number and all? what should i do have you guys heard of this or was that guys just being stupid?
I think im going to resell it or trade it for a verizon version. if any one wants to trade for a sprint version thats unlocked and comes with many extras in the orignal bo x with a 1 gig card and the mighty rom with android I will sell or trade it for 160 its in great condition Davey
there are two types of wireless networks in the world: GSM and CDMA. your phone is GSM in hardware = can't be changed), and verizon's network is CDMA = not comaptible.
correct me if im wrong but the sprint is the cdma and the att is the gsm. this phone has mightys cdma rom on it. it would have bricked the phone if it was gsm right at least that is what all the info i have read has told me. I have even flashed it to the stock verizon rom which is cdma and it was fine. I have found a few pages in the wiki about how to use it on the verizon network i will try they look kinda complicated tho.

sprint & verizon are cdma, t-mobile & at&t are gsm.
i haven't tried flashing a cdma rom on my fuze... i know it is highly unrecommended. but i am sure there is a way to tell if ur phone is gsm or cdma, probably by looking at the sticker under that battery.
Dad is correct.. Sprint is CDMA jsut like VZW... and there is an easier way to tell if it is GSM or CDMA..... Take off the batter cover.... Do you see a Sim Card? If Yes, then it is a GSM... If No, Then CDMA unless it is GSM and no sim card is in it.. then power it up... it will say SIM CARD MISSING... That will tell you that it is GSM.....
Hope that helps.
I know its cdma for a fact it has sprint across the front and it has a cdma rom on it

Need HELP With my TOUCH PRO 2

He guys
Here is the question straight forward, I bought a used US Cellular HTC Touch Pro 2 from someone who uses the phone on a CDMA network while i will have to use it on a GSM network the seller said that there is a SIM slot underneath the battery which he never used, Will this phone work on my GSM network outside U.S. and will that phone be unlockable?
thanks in advace
HTC website
HTC website doesn't say anything about GSM support for this phone "US Celleular Touch Pro 2"
any ideas guys???
The touch pro 2 is a world phone and yes it has a sim slot (at least the sprint/verizon models do). I unlocked my phone in the U.S. and used it on AT&T with my buddies sim card, the only problem was that the radio is does not have the 3G frequencies for the U.S. you might have to research if this holds true out side the U.S. since every other country uses a different frequency set for 3G access.
Also plz tone down the font size
ya the seller satated that the phone has a SIM slot then i should assume that it can be used hopefully, and the 3G is frequinces is supported by this phone over here in Egypt and i should be fine.
sorry about the font

Quick Question: GSM and CDMA

Hiya,
I live in the UK and am on o2. I was wondering if I was to purchase a phone from America which says CDMA network (according to GSM arena), would I be able to get a signal in the UK? Would I get HSDPA-speeds for my internet browsing/downloading?
The phone I was particularly interested in is the Moto Droid 2.
Is the GSM/CDMA technology dependent on the radio? And if so, is it a case of simply updating the radio to suit the UK conditions?
Kind regards.
CDMA is a dying old technology only used in USA and just few countries more, the rest of the world uses GSM so go for that one!
But the phone I am looking at only has CDMA. So would I be knackered if I got it for use in the UK? That is what I am asking.
I don´t know the meaning of knackered and don´t think that any UK provider uses CDMA, consult your cell provider and most likely will be a GSM device
Thank you. Knackered means broken, tired or messed up. The latter in this case.
If you currently have a SIM card, you need GSM.
CDMA does NOT use SIM cards, so it won't work on a network that does.
That's something I did not know. And has completely enlightened me. Guess I'll wait for the Milestone 2 instead.
Thank you very much everyone.

Using international SIM cards

Hi All,
Please excuse me if this is a dumb question. I am moving over from Sprint to Verizon and travel to India a lot. I know and believe I will have no problem roaming over in India on CDMA, as I do so often on Sprint and Verizon's website shows CDMA coverage as well. What I would like to know and double check myself on is being able to switch SIM cards. I understand the GS3 on Verizon has a SIM card in it... is it possible to pickup a local sim card in India and put it in my phone to use local service?
From my understanding at the moment, if I want to do this, I need to follow this thread and steps...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1809314
Is it possible to have Verizon give me an unlock code to be able to use a different local SIM in India? Any help would be grateful.

Thought VZW and SPR are giving SIM unlock service under the certain condition.
http://www.verizon.com/about/consumer-safety/device-unlocking-policy
Like VZW clearly states on their website, that they don't usually lock their 4G devices, so I guess S7 is included?
So as SPR
https://www.sprint.com/legal/unlocking_policy.html
you just have to use your device in certain amount of time on their network and they can unlock it for you.
Unless you can't connect to their network, I really don't see the need of any "programming" or "unlock SIM" that you do refer to.(though unlock SIM doesn't exist for Galaxy S7)
And lets talk about using your device on CDMA network. You have to be aware that which CDMA is used by your career and on which band, as CDMA is mainly ONLY used by USA,JAPAN,KOREA,China(sorry if I missed any) I think very few device supports CDMA, so it might be quite DIFFICULT(or even impossible) to use GSM device on the CDMA network.
Maybe you need to clarify a bit what information you need exactly?
In yemen we use cdma on cdma2000 ev-do band and gsm so My phone is compatible with this two network(s7/sm-g930p).why i need to use programming sim becuse to use both network cdma for internet connection and gsm for calls but not in the same time.i have to swith network band to use one of them .in phone store they have a method to unlock sim and progamming sim to work on cdma.i don't now the method but maybe by dfs .
