I have two magicians, and I read many posts about nonchangeable version 2.03TX.
I test it, and upgrade one unit. After upgrade really is not possible change any (OS or bootloader). Bootloader cant vrite itself or OS memory. I try all known techniques - SDboot, TTY (lnb, s2d d2s...) via USB, and standart os upgrade via PC (of cours, noID too).
So I have two magicians, then i use good tool from "itsme" called pmemdump.exe (thank you for your good job) and download OS images and bootloader images from my magicians. The reason is:
I dont say when, and/or why, but in some magiciansThe 2.03TX destroy bootloader!!
In my flashed magician is destroyed (nulled) area from 0x10000 to 0x10080.
I attach good (before upgrade) and destroyed (after upgrade) bootloader for comparsion
Maybee if "itsme" (or anybody other? ) create new version of pnewbootloader.exe compatible with version 2.03TX (because under this version OS it not working) then tens of magicians with flashed 2.03TX will be upgradeable again . (I can send any dump if it will be need, or try apply new version on my magicians).
hi mate, i 've had installed 2.03tx and 1.13 radio on my qtek s100 for about one year...
i've had no problem in downgrading radio to 1.12 and flashing device with cotulla rom,
the only problem is that cotulla rom does not support samsung touchscreen
my bootloader is 1.02
the only trick to update i've used is to keep activesync loaded with "allow usb connection" unchecked in settings. then it worked like a charm...
I try it too with unchecked "allow USB connection" in AS (and i have XP). By me (and many others) the problem is owerwrited bootloader. You can see attached files and compare it, you will be see...
You are right, many problems with flashing is between chair and keyboard But not now.
You have the same version of bootloader like me, then probably in version of bootloader its not. I have originally T-mobile MDA compact.
Can you send me dump of your bootloader for compare?

I have 2.03TX in only one magician. The second unit is powered by Cotulla WWE_03 now
Download and unzip this: http://www.nah6.com/~itsme/itsutilsbin-20090515.zip
Connect and synchronize via AS your magician, stay connected (this util working via Active Sync) and in comand line (IN win XP of course, in vista its not guaranted) go to your unzipped directory and write this (without commas):
"pmemdump 0x80000000 0x00040000 boot.bin"
and wait few seconds to done.
It read flash from address 0x80000000 to 0x80040000 (lenght 0x40000) and store dump to file "boot.bin" Its bootloader area. Then you can send me it, compare with my posted bootloaders...

Me 2, upgraded from tx203 to Cotulla's rom and back for some SMS backup and then upgraded to Cotulla's rom again.
I think I can go as many times as I wish with my magician.

You are lucky man I try it only one time, and bootloader is broken.
I have magicians only as toys, then, if it will be problem for me, then i repair bootloader via JTAG I only try 2.03TX, and try search some help for unlucky mans, who havent JTAG Now i have one broken, and one OK. But with Samsung LCD R3 . Maybee, i change display, or upgrade it to 128MB RAM for try _R1
I am HW developer, so HW problems is easy for me I create car multimedia PC on OMAP3530 platform now for my friends. Its better toy for me, magician is lovely history Only SW is hard to write to me
hi certik, my magician is still with cotulla rom and doesn't boot because of touchscreen driver,i've not flashed it again because of i don't use it.
i'm waiting a new rom,
however when flashed i'll send you my bootloader backup

OK, Ill wait. I dont need it really, i have stored good copy of bootloader, i need it only for compare
And if you wish, you can flash cotulla WWE_03 ROM (you can directly from _04 to _03 say Cotulla) In this version touchscreen driver worked fine.

I have upgraded roms on Tytn II and Touch Pro 2 with no problems. Trying to upgrade a G4 Wizard from WM5 to WM6.x and I am completely confused.
When I have downloaded G4 safe roms all that is in there is an nbf file. What am I supposed to be doing with that? Is it similar to a cab file and run from the device? Should I have more to install the rom upgrade?
All help appreciated.
just find RUU and flash it from PC... There are tutorials, soo READ IT
Yeah except that only the last rom we downloaded said to put an RUU in the same folder as the nbf file.
Like I said, I have upgraded roms on Tytn II's and a TP2. So Im not new to a rom upgrade. But thanks for your help.

im looking for update utility, the actual program that installs the rom. i found my wizared in a shoe box after many year and figured i should flash a new rom and use it again. all the roms i find do not contain the update program. my wizard is a g3.

Hello, this is what you are looking for, ww.windowsceportal.hu/download/apps/htc_wizupgradeut.zip extract it and in the same folder put your rom file.

Are you sure you are on the right device page, Each device has it's own compatible upgrade utility, so if you dont have a wizard it will not work.
Another version of Utility worked....
but after flashing it do some installation and then restart...and after restart it strt again showing the Windows Mobile 5.9

Hi, every body! I'm using cingular 8125 current OS WM 6.1 (Touch Flo V. 1.0). I want to update to OS WM 6.5. But error with code 266 or 260. I check all about connection. the status is USB active sync connected. Itried to update without SD or SIM card too but still error with code 266 or 260. How can I do? Can you tell me the link that OS WM 6.5 supported with cingular 8125?

I m the latest user to get into upgrading.. I have had a JAMin since March 2006 but never thot of updating it till now... (kinda sounds lame bt been bz with other stuff) .. anyhow.. I have some how managed to achieve the following in the past 5 days...
Ugrade my SPL from 1.0.0.0 to 2.13.x.x
Upgrade my SPL from 2.13.x to 2.20.x
Upgrade my WM 5 to WM 6 (by PDAVIET 4.0.0.3a)
Now I m stuck at this coz i apparently wanted to update my Jamin to Windows Mobile 6.5 and i really seem to like the roms by PDAVIET.. I have downloaded many 6.5 roms (e.g. bikertbi) but once i download the file and unzip it... i m left with 2 files namely.. prophet 6 and nk.nbf
now the problem comes as i try to install using prophet 6 tool.. (p.s. i have windows 7 and xp virtual machine installed which work quite brilliantly to upgrade/update my jamin rom ) the system tries to do hardspl and my jamin goes white.. and when it starts the flashing tool ... the RUU cannot find my pda ... then i switch to updating the rom using the RUU_NV_G3 update facility (my pda is G3).. and i can install the rom .. but after installing the pda restarts and its stuck in bootloader screen (3 colors) ..then i have to revert back to wm 5 (stable one) now i have done this abt 7 times and still the same screen shows up..
what i did like abt pdaviet rom was the installing tool which did wonderfully well.. (upgrade.bat file) and now i have been searching this forum (or at least trying to locate) for the windows mobile 6.5 rom by PDAVIET for JAMin/Prophet but i m unable to do so..
so i need help in installing the bikertibi rom or pls provide the download link for pdaviet wm 6.5 rom for jamin/prophet.

I've got two TREO750 devices. Following the same procedure I've updated both to WM6.5: from 5 to 6.1 to 6.5. The OS and FW versions are the same. Weird enough the software version of the devices are different: one uses TREO750-2.27 while the other is still on TREO750-1.15.
A closer look shows that the full 6.1 image flashes all parts of the software successfully (according to the update screen). So it *seems* to work but is not.
Any clues about how to fix this? Thanks for your help!

did you update the HSPL on the device before updating the rom ??
after you update with the Hard spl then you can flash with any ROM, This thread hspl ~ http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=334100

The original poster would not have been able to flash custom ROMs without flashing the HSPL
The problem is the method of flashing, either through USB or MiniSD. Flashing through USB using Palm's Desktop Updater program is the only way for the software version to update itself. When flashing through MiniSD the Software Version cannot update due to the lack of Palm's payload file.
