So I installed the new black dial pad, S2A and in call curtain ... which was all working fine ... is working fine, as far as I can tell. All except that my phone no longer rings - if I call it from another phone it just rings and rings and then goes to voicemail.
Before I try to uninstall or worse, re-flash the RomEOS ROM, does anyone have any suggestions on what I might try?!
UPDATE: I've been calling it to test and have managed to get through once. The other times, as above. What's weird is that when I can't get through, my missed call notifications (from YouMail) don't come through for a long time afterwards. And when they do, that seems to be when the phone rings. Is it my phone or AT&T?
UPDATE: If I change my network type to GSM I move to an Edge connection and the phone rings. If I set the network type to Auto, it switches to 3G but the phone doesn't ring. What are the default HTC Fuze settings?
Hi !
I am looking for an application wich can block call instantly, without one ore two rings before droping call or redirecting to voice mail. I tried a few applications from market like SPC, aFirewall etc. and i am very disappointed. Every one of them droping call after one or two rings, so caller will realize that i have an firewall installed.
Thank you !
In order for your phone to block a call, it must know there is a call to block... It has to ring on the other end, or there would be nothing to block.
Gblocker is as good as it gets
I had iBlacklist on iPhone, call filter on nokia and those apps dropped the call instantly. The phones did not ring at all.
So, there must be another explanation...

If the call if rejected by your phone the caller can always know this is happening... however your carrier should be able to blacklist numbers for you in the event of mischief and in this case the caller will actually hear a "no such number" tone and the call will never be handed to your phone to deal with.
I'm not sure if your Nokia or iPhone solution actually managed a local or a network blacklist. If it was a local blacklist then for sure the caller knows they've been hung up on (even if it doesn't ring at your end)!
aFirewall the best for me

If you go to a contact, and then to go options, there is an option to send that call directly to voicemail. Phone doesn't even ring.
aFirewall is eating my batery very fast. And it does ring one or two times before droping the call (even more when it came back from sleep/stand by).
Refer to iBlacklist, i can tell you that it is blocking the call somehow before ringing - i tried to call from another phone and it divert the call to voice mail instantly, with no ring - sounds like network busy tone.
The same for Nokia.
Anway, thanks for your suggestions !
The best solution is the modified Phone.apk from Cytown. You can block the call
in the same way carrier does. Your phone never make any sound, or turn on the screen...
Nothing happens, like the call never exist.

Yes this works. it is already built into the phone. I have a few numbers set up this way already. Why are you guys using apps for this?
Because i don't want to add to contacts every not wanted numbers. And i need that application to manage scheduled profiles (again, like iblacklist - no, i don't want an iphone just for this app), so i can manage when and for whom i am availlable.
I'm new to the android world (just got a Mytouch 4G) and have a vexing issue. I'm a broker and get a lot of calls from random numbers not on my contacts list. The problem is that for missed calls, I call the person back, but the number is still listed on the call log with the missed call. Is there any way to instead have the standard behavior I'd always been used to with older symbian and win-mo phones of automatically clearing the missed call icon when I've called the number back?
Sometimes I have a lot of calls to make and can't get to missed calls until after making those other calls... now when I see a missed call, I have to look through all the numbers I've recently dialed to make sure I haven't already called them back. Am I just missing something, or is there a way to get the desired behavior?
Dear Sir or Madame,
I would like my phone to ring silently (as if the sound profile were set to "silent") when an "Unknown" caller calls it. By "Unknown" I mean callers who block their number. I do not mean callers who aren't in my address book, whose number is displayed when they call. I do not want the phone to hang up on the calls, redirect them to some other number, or any other type of fancy response.
I have tried over a dozen "call / sms blocker" type apps from the market, and every single one of them has two problems: 1) They are way, way, over complicated, and 2) None of them work properly - each has one or more bugs which interfere with normal usage of my phone.
Does anyone know of an app which would simply "ring" silently for "Unknown" callers, and doesn't do much, if anything, else?
My phone is an HTC Inspire 4G. I can run either Froyo or Gingerbread, in case that is an issue in finding a solution to my problem.
Thank you for your time.
Sincerely,
Showtune
Hello all,
I updated to 22_181026 and since then the phone does not ring, it switches automatically to the voicemail service.
I have set up a ringtone, it works, but when someone calls me it rings (the phone does not ring) and then switches to the voicemail.
What can i try to solve this ?
Thanks.
