How to remap hard button for fake cursor ? - HTC Vox

Someone knows how to remap any button to launch that app?
Please, need some help.

The only way to make it work was with xBar 3 where I was able to set shortcut for FakeCursor and call it from popup.
Unfortunately the only way to shut it down was to reboot (remove the batteries).

kusnier: which version of Fakecursor do you use? Did you have to configure Fakecursor in any way (registry) ? And what is the action key to emulate a mouseclick?
So far I managed to install xBar 3 and start an old Fakecursor version (I only have one file called Fakecursor.exe).

Don't know version number. That was just plain Fakecursor.exe file, you had to call it after startig TomTom and it was working just fine.

Got it to work

With both Fakecursor versions (the current version 1.05 and an older) I could configure a key to exit touchscreen emulation
The only annoyance is that after pressing the exit key the screen changes to the homescreen
I'm still trying to find a solution.

Latest esmertec jbed soft key issues

I have tried a number of different jblend and jbed versions to launch java games on my touch dual. Almost all of them either produced errors, didnt launch or install the java files. I finally found one that worked which was a version of jbed called JRebeiro Esmertec Jbed which has a build ID: 20071119.3.1. This one launched all the java files perfectly.....
However, the only problem now is that I can't use the soft keys! I can use the D-pad and the keypad (numbers) to navigate through the menus, but the left/right soft keys don't work. For example, if I run Need for speed pro street, the first option is whether or not to enable sound. The 'yes' and 'no' icons show, but I cant select either soft key so I cant continue!!
I tried searching the forum and read through the whole 'midlet bible' thing but didnt find anything conclusive!
Does anyone know a solution? or even a midlet manager that has the soft keys working?

Strange, in my 3.1 copy (did you use the same as me? http://www.winmobiletech.com/092007MidletBible/JRebeiro_EsmertecJbed_20071119.3.1.zip ) works just great on my (several) Pocket PC's.
If it doesn't work at all, get Cloudyfa's 2.1: http://www.winmobiletech.com/092007MidletBible/Jbed.zip
First of all, thanks for the reply.
I had the same versions as you just showed and I had also previously tried Cloudyfa's version too. I tried out the ones you posted anyway just to be safe but I had the same problem on both...no soft keys. (BTW, The soft key buttons on screen work in the Jbed main screen, its just when I launch a java game that I cant select or use the soft keys).
What buttons do you use as the soft keys?
The only buttons left on my touch dual apart from the number pad is the start and end call buttons, the navigation/D pad, the volume up and down keys and the camera button. Only the navigation/d-pad buttons seem to when I launch a game in Jbed, but the other keys function as normal (if i press the call button, the phone dialer appears, or if i press the camera button, it launches the camera).
So are the soft key buttons on the touchscreen (icons shown on the touchscreen) meant to work? Or is the touch dual lacking the necessary buttons?

oic. I've always used hardware buttons; no wonder in-game softkeys don't work (they aren't supposed to).
use a button redefiner; for example, AEBPlus, to map left/right softkey functionality to the existing buttons (for example, Camera)
Thanks for that. I finally solved it!
I went and got AEBplus like you said and I noticed it showed the left and right soft keys eventhough there arent any on the touch dual. Then I went to check the actual buttons option in the windows setting tab and found that I can map some of the shortcut buttons as left/right soft keys! Everything works perfectly now. Just got to find the right buttons to map the left/right soft keys.
Finally solved that problem! I'm surprised no one mentioned this anywhere else.....probably because its a touch dual specific problem.

Long End Key remap

Hi. Suppose I just want to remap the long end key press button to something other than the HTC dafault. Do I need AEBPlus for that? I assume that would be a overkill for remapping just one button. The HTC interal app only allows to either display the quick list or make 4 other actions. I was wondering if I can change that to something else without using the AEBPlus app. I just wanted to run the comm manager rather than the htc options
Thanks
Don't get your hopes up about AE Button cause it don't work if your using touch gl. Apparently touch fl keeps regrabning the keys so sometimes they work snd sometimes they dont. I gave up. i think ot might work better with the hold button but like i said i got frustrated snd gaveup when thr suthor told mr there was nothing he could do..

Actually I don't need it working with the TouchFlo, as I don't use TF. I only want to remap the long end press button to the comm manager. Of course it would have been great to also map a long press on the Home button or the Back button but I think I read that's not possible even without TouchFlo ?
what no one answered ? wow i thought that's easy,a metter of registry or link change. quite disappointing.
I am also looking for a way to change the back button to run some other program...
How to assign a shortcut to EndKey, SendKey ....
Not tried myself on TP, but maybe it's useful:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=356322
Create a shortcut in your windows directory called long_end.lnk
whatever the shortcut points to will run when you long press the end key.
There are a few of these hard press shortcuts
long_end.lnk
long_send.lnk
long_power.lnk
long_ptt.lnk
short_power.lnk
short_ptt.lnk
I can remap all the buttons except the Long End. Somehow the Long End button is mapped to the phone Lock. Where can I disable that and allow for my own?
Start, settings, system tab, long press end key
if you don't see what you want there ... we might have to figure out how to disable the long press htc software
I cooked my own rom and I didn't put in long press end key. I assumed it wouldn't have installed any reg settings for it, guess I'll have to check. Thanks!
For some reason if you don't add HTC Long End to the ROM, it will stick on one setting and can't be changed. Weird, but fixable. If you install HTC End Key (the cab is somewhere on here) it will override the previous setting and then you can either select your preference from within the program or create a custom link. Not sure about the second idea working, since I haven't tried it myself, but I've been able to override HTC End Key when it was installed on previous phones. You could also consider un-installing it after installing it if all else fails.

Yeah, I recooked the Long End Key Press in, but there isn't a custom selection part of it so that must be a different version of End Key software. It's ok not too important.
AEB
Just for those who wonder, AEButton can remap everything (single, double, triple, long presses) on all keys except two: Long Green and Long Red.
You either need to disable Long End Key software or find some other way to hard map these.
Using my HTC Touch Pro. I am still unablet to map the Long press End Key to something other than the limited options that the HTC Long Press End Key program settings offer.
I simply wish to map the long press end key to run a different program. I tried the suggestion offered on this post (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=1783616#post1783616) but it doesn't work. I put a file called Long_End.lnk in the windows directory, soft reset the device and still it doesn't map to that. Only displays the HTC 'quick list'.
I am not running TF3D.
Anyhelp ? To map to any program I choose ?
Thanks
So no buddy managed to map the End button long press to some other program than the options that the HTC's prg in the settings allow ?
I want to remap the End key to open Phone Weaver Profiles which is much more useful than what the HTC Long End Pressapp offers.

That's not the full story ....
on ex: HTC HD
there are buttons:
"Green Key", -> mapping possible but without Long Press
"Home Key" -> nothing possible !!!
"Back Key" -> not really mapable (mapping possible, but always send to wanted mapping ~backspace and jump back to Homescreen and then the mapped button will execute - little bit strange ..)
Longpress also doesn't work
"Red Key", -> mapping possible but without Long Press
tried with aebutton also (last version)
some additional ideas ?

HI!
I'm another one that tried everything to remap the long end key without that HTC app and no solutions.
What we really need is to know how to disable that app from the system.
Anyone help us!

voice command 1.6

Hi,
I've used the above for many years (previously 1.5)
I'm having issues with using it with a touch pro as it doesnt show up as a program and there are no keys I can assign to it in settings - ive searched for ages but cant find the answer.
I notice HTC include it with their Touch Diamond so it must be possible!!
It's not in Programs, it's in Settings>Personal. Make sure it's enabled. The only stock button available for it is Button 1 (call) long press. You can also reprogram the PTT button to use it (do a search for that here).
I knew that thanks - the issue I had was how to execute the program (works ok through file explorer) for now I used the right softkey and it seems OK
Tried to rename a shortcut for the long_send.lnk hack but this didnt work for me

There should be no need to do anything to make it work with the long pressed send key. Just install it via the cab and it should start itself when booting the TP and react to a long press of the send key. As said before it has to be enabled in the settings though...

Button mapping - Power off warning[exe] & connmgr[exe]

I'm a new user of Topaz.
Could anyone know that, is it possible to use the application like SKtools of AEbutton Plus to map the mentioned programme as left and right soft button ??
I was tried to do that, but it doesn't work so far
I use the facility in "TouchFlo Detacher" to remap the left and right soft buttons. The left one now puts my TD2 into standby, and the right goes straight to HTC's comm manager console ("\windows\CommManager.exe"). It works perfectly.

[Q] Non-Touch compactible rom?

Hi guys,
My digitizer has died, and till the new one comes I was thinking of how I could use my T7272, I can write the SMS fine, but I can't send them out, cause the button is on the screen itself... is there a rom I could use freely w/o using the touchscreen?
P.S.
Is the digitizer hard to replace?
You could check out AE Button; it has some options like button presses that will activate soft buttons. I suspect you could send sms's using it. You could also try using mortscripts with AE button that will do stuff you need. There are some pretty simple scripts that will simulate screen taps, and you could assign them to a button push. I'd rather have a working touchscreen, though.
Here are some of the commands:
# 91: startmenu (on some devices it might be home button)
# 92: back key (not the backspace key but back key for closing applications which is available on some devices such as diamnd or blackstone)
# 93: menu key
#112: left softkey
#113: right softkey
#114: accept call (green button)
#115: hang up (red button)
#117: volume up
#118: volume down
#126: data disconnect
#127: toggle speaker
#133: devicelock
#223: power off
I use one to lock the device. Basically, you just put this:
Code:
sendspecial(133)
in a .txt file, and change the extension to .mscr. I call it Lock.mscr, and I have it assigned to a few different actions (like when a call comes in, a script locks the phone). So, sendspecial(112) and sendspecial(113) might help you out. There's also one for hitting 'Ok' in popups, which would probably work for you. I can't find it, though (google 'sendspecial' and you'll find it, it's all on msdn).
Anyway, if you install mortscript (maybe you already have it) as well as AE Button, you could assign button pushes to carry out those actions. Just stick the scripts somewhere easy, like the start menu, and it will be easy to set up.
If you want to get more complicated, there are also mortscript commands that simulate button pushes on the screen. You could set one up that would do just about anything. Also, SK Schema does similar stuff. You can write fairly simple sequences of button pushes that will do just about anything. This is one that I use that runs SK Tools Pim backup (I have it scheduled to run every night in the middle of the night).
#r(\windows\sktstart.exe) #p(STH:20)
#tap(146;602) #sleep(15000)
#tap(110;533) #sleep(500)
#tap(339;455) #sleep(500)
#tap(126;604) #sleep(500)
#tap(114;84) #sleep(500)
#tap(146;99) #sleep(5000)
#tap(310;254) #sleep(90000)
#tap(433;602) #sleep(10000)
#pwr() #sleep(10000)

Basically, the backup tool gets launched in line 1, then there are a bunch of screen taps (w/ delays, to make sure everything is ready) in the menus to get the right options selected, followed by turning the device off.
I`m not sure... But i saw somewhere app that emulate a mouse (cursor) and you will be able to control this mouse with your D-pad... But I can be wrong...
I can't install that mortscript w/o the touchscreen though..damn it..: )..
Get MyMobiler, and use it to run your device off of a pc. You should be able to get that working.
