I'm currently running a Custom Faria w/ IPL/SPL 3.08 and Radio 2.69.11...
Every once in a while (~once every 2 weeks), I get a high pitched screeching when I make/receive calls... Sounds like when your ears are ringing...
Anybody experiencing this and know what may be causing it? See my sig for my current config...

Ok First things first, I'm a perfectionist so this may be a bit weird.... I own two Imates, both the 128mb abd 64mb and both these phones have the same "issue" so I do not think its a fault in either one, but in the radio rom or speaker hadware of the Imate Jam's in general.
Whenever I hold either of the phones to my ear and make a call I can hear a very tiny clicking "chewing" noise that my wife described as an Ant trying to get out... Now it took her quite a while to hear it and I cannot hear at all in my left ear but when I use my right ear and the room is quiet enough it actually gives me a headache after a while.
I also have a nokia 6682 but does not have this issue at all. Can anyone else confirm this noise. You can hear it best when you first make a call and its ringing, between the rings. Help me out, I've scoured countless posts trying to find a fix or even someone who is bothered with this as well. I have not upgraded the rom to 113 but am planning to soon but I dont think that will help. Thanks guys.
I've been having this issue for quite sometime but has recently come to light as everyone i call seems to complain that my voice is "cutting"
i've tried so many different roms, and so many different radio roms.
currently on Ranju's latest, 7.7 and 1.15 radio.
what could it be?
the device is a bit old, so it's surely had a couple falls here and there.. but somehow i dont think the tiny microphone is broken.
does anyone else have such problems where their voice seems to be fading in and out and cutting like they have a bad signal (while the signal meter is on full)?
I have the same problem... it is not problem with microphone because it is all the same if I use built in microphone, bluetooth headset or wired headset...
Hello! I am using Ranju v7.7 with radio 1.17 and now I havenĀ“t any problem of communication. Before, with radio 1.15 and 1.18 had the same problem.
Greetings.
Hi all, I got my Fuze on Monday night, and I have noticed sound distortion while making/receiving calls.
Is this a common problem? or my device is probably defected?
Thanks for any input.
Anyone else experiences the same thing?
Will ATT let me get an exchange?
I'm having the same exact issue as you. There's a strange echo while making voice calls, and it makes it a little difficult to hear.
I think it must be your unit or location; the sound on mine is exceptionally clear, noticeably better than the 8525 I was using previously.
With my first Fuze, I had that same issue among others, and ATT let me swap out the phone. New phone doesn't have any of those problems.
OMG this freakin PDA is driving me nuts as a phone. Anyone get really bad performance when using speakerphone or bluetooth to another party who is also on speakerphone? The best way I can describe this is it sounds like I'm talking on an old half-duplex speakerphone, that cuts the speaker when the mic is active. For example, if I make a sound on my end like scrunch a piece of paper or drop a pen the audio in the headset "dims" out and then back for a good half second, enough to make the call unintelligible sometimes when I'm in the car or driving. This happens especially if the person on the other end is on speaker.
One thing I noticed: this does not happen as much with the stock plug-in headset. Only speakerphone and most especially bluetooth. Speakerphone has other problems too, like a real nasty high-pitched audio loop that makes the person on the other end cringe (again, other person on speakerphone when this happens).
I've had this with the person on the other end using a Sprint speakerphone and a regular land line speakerphone, so it's not their phone.
I've looked around for quite a while, have the phone for over a month, and have seen some other fixes for audio that don't seem to relate to this issue, but:
does ANYONE else have this problem?

Does the HTC One S have a poor radio?
I have been flashing ROMs since day one of owning my HTC One S so I cannot speak for the stock radio/ROM. But I find any calls I receive from digital signals (cell phones, company phones, CSR's) tend to get digital static if they speak too low. If they trail off with what they are saying it tends to blend in with white noise. But if they stop talking altogether, it's perfect silent, so I know the digital white noise is not constant, it's only when low level audio is coming through.
I have received calls from land lines and the quality is clear, crystal clear. So I know the issue seems to be with digital lines only.
Has anyone else had this issue? Or found a way to solve it? I find myself asking people to speak up, not because my ear piece is too low but because their words get cut out and jumbled with white noise.
Any feedback on this would be great. If it helps, my current ROM, HBOOT information is in my signature, I am using radio 1.20.50.05.16.
I'm using radio 1.11.50.05.28 and using headphones, call receiver gets only 2/3 things that I'm saying, like if the phone cuted some words.
Using CM11 I can't upgrade radio, installation gets done without any error but the radio stays the same.
The good news is, after radio update trial, the sound is much better till next rom installation, looks like it is an temporary radio .
(sorry for my English)
