which hardware make magical can not be install WM 5.0 - JAM, MDA Compact, S100 Software Upgrading

i don't know exactly what thing make magical and alpine can not be install WM 5.0! what hardware are they lacking to be used in WM5.0!

Not hardware -- software! More specifically the lack of device drivers.

And for which hardware, the drivers missing?

Are there any other of the old WM2003/WM2003SE devices apart from the XDA II (Himalaya) that can also run WM5? Microsoft used the XDA II for the original build of WM5 and this was later leaked.
If you want WM5 then the quickest way would be to sell your Magician and buy a Prophet. It is of the same size, so it will fit whatever cases you may have for your Magician. You'd get WiFi and a 2MP camera! Don't let the black plastic body of the Prophet fool you. It is very tough. The Prophet has been around for some time now so it should be cheap.

If you had the money which PDA/PPC would YOU buy?

I was lucky and won a **** load of money on some stupid TV-show.
Now I am able to but myself a really nice phone..
My question is: Which phone should I buy. Which model/brand is the best of the best (for this moment ofcourse?)
Thx
Try Dell
Am hearing all the rave reviews for dell axim x5 but I havent used it yet
give me half money then i will tell you which is the best pda momently
i like hp ipaq 6828
so give me half, we will buy together
take a look here
http://www.gsmarena.com/hp_ipaq_rw6828-1606.php
i would buy zaurus sl-c1000 and small nokia phone
If I were to choose from what is available right now I would go for either the TyTN or the Trinity depending on how much I need / dislike the keyboard.
Problem is there is a new and even better model out almost every week...
I will say that the most stable at the moment is Asus, so, i will point you on it.
Best for me?
I'd have to throw my vote to the HTC Herald.
http://www.engadgetmobile.com/2006/11/20/htc-herald-gets-its-htc-branding-the-p4350/
Who needs video conferencing from your mobile?
I don't know. According to specs Herald looks like a Wizard with a new case.
Same 200MHz processor, same 64/128 memory configuration, the only improvements are WiFi G and 2MP camera.
Not that it's a bad phone, but if you can afford the latest why not get something that is a step ahead.
/nag mode on
This should be under a general forum, not under a prophet upgrading forum
/nag mode off
if an PPC with TI OMAP 3430, 550MHz CPU, i'ld to chose it ^_^
Yeah wrong section.
That said - a Hermes with a built-in GPS and proper connectors on the base instead of that stupid hybrid thing - would be just about my perfect device.

Set Your Bets!!!

I was searching a device for upgrade my hw6515 and my artemis an i look the O2 Flame and the HTc Athena and i think What is the better device ??
this is a new topic of ultimate devices...
So what is the best for you the Flame 02 Or The Athena ???
Hmm, I don't know, what is better grapefruit or peach?
Really which is best, an Audi or a Harley Davidson?
The point I am trying to make here is these are two different devices.
One (Flame) is still pocket sized (and I believe not 3G) while the other is a brick but with wonderful screen and detachable keyboard.
Which is best really depends on the features you want in your device.
Personally I have no use for "Pocket PC" that I can't put in a pocket. Might as well wait for the Samsung Micro PC to hit the market. Its about the size of the Athena (when folded) but has full Windows XP and other laptop equivalent capabilities.
personaly i'd get

and a

the 9150
of cause this will have to wait untill my money tree start giving fruits

Eten Glofish X500+ Support?

Does anyone here have an eten x500+? I am thinking of buying one but want to make sure it is supported here because I would like to be able to customize it like I can with my Wizard but cant seem to find anything on the forum on it...
This website, obviously, is mainly devoted to HTC devices. With that said, my boyfriend has the x500. He is using the WM6 upgrade for it.
Eten uses a heavily modified ROM on their devices. They have TONS of OEM applications that replace the Microsoft ones in addition to removing a fair bit of WM6 standard items. The device is touchscreen only and I think it sucks because I've yet to use a decent SIP for WM since MS dropped JOT. Also for being touchscreen only it doesn't seem to be as sensitive as my Mogul and you can see the plastic move when you touch the screen.
My bf bought it when it was the thinnest and lightest WM5 device. If you want a thin and light WM device, I recommend a Smartphone. I used to have a Moto Q and would recommend a Smartphone over the glofiish.

Thank you for your input. I honestly prefer devices with a querty keyboard anyway. Do you know of any VGA devices with a querty keyboard and also a 400mHZ processor like the x500?
PS - Glad to see there are actually women on these forums and its not just a bunch of guy nerds.

Toshiba G900.

(Just the first link off google, personally these guys are tools I thought the difference between smartphone and pocket pc was pretty clear - guess not).
Anyway no HTC device with a VGA screen and qwerty keyboard exists. Unless you consider the HTC Advantage or the old HTC Universal, which I dont imagine you have in mind, ergo, the Toshiba best suits your criteria, but like the Eten is not directly supported by these forums.

A nice phone overall but the screen is kind of awkward looking... It has the width of a QVGA device but the height of a VGA device. Strange but neat looking. Thanks for the suggestion and the quick reponse.
I take it there arent many other VGA phones and other than the Advantage, none made by HTC. I suppose I will just wait for a while. Eventually they will have to come out with something smililar to the 8525, MDA, or WING that is VGA and still has the querty keyboard.
The screen ratio of WVGA is actually desirable as it is CLOSE to the Golden Ratio of 1.6 (the device ratio is actually 1.7). To read why it's desirable, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Golden_ratio

I Mate Ultimate 9502.....Kaiser/Tilt/TYTN II killer??

Guys check out the new i mate ultimate 9502....top notch specs with a VGA screen,GPS,3.2 MP camera,WiFi,Bluetooth,Qwerty keyboard....blah blah....
http://www.gsmarena.com/i_mate_ultimate_9502-2158.php
I think its awesome....anyone else havin second thoughts on buyin the Kaiser??
Yes awesome but the problem is that I-Mate is behind it. Their old website showed wonderful devices (Ultimate Range) coming mid 2007 but I guess it is now end 2007 and still no clue of already announced devices. So far we only see a new website but no devices.
So Yes 9502 a wonderful device but only if it ever gets released and I am a bit skeptical that it ever will. Potentially a TyTn II killer.
yep
the i-mate 9502 or the eten m800 will be my next celly after the tytn II.. i really dislike the non vga screen on the tytn ii (used with the universal). however its fairly quick and little bugs.
from what i can read on the specs the m800 has a slightly better cpu? i dont know if it really is but the mhz is higher at least. ;D
Well the problem is, it doesnt have a dedicated numbers row which causes a bit of a worry for me. In tytn, you cant take a note down when on a phone call because, when i type it only inputs number equivalents and i cant tap the alphabets!
Hope this problem is fixed!
Btw, i have a universal!
yea i think it has all the TYTN II features and then some.....now the only problem is availability as srmz mentioned....also nowhere hav they mentioned wut GPS hardware is used....
I-Mate Ultimate 9200 or HTC P6500 Sirius or not
Are these products the same and next beast?
No. i-Mate & HTC parted company a year or so ago. i-Mate's new products are manufactured by Arima.
it's got the Kaiser in ROM (256v128), VGAvQVGA screen, an LED flash
other than that, it's 10gm heavier, doesn't appear to have GPS, uses the same Qualcomm chipset
it's pretty even steven in my opinion
Arima??
Arima is the guys who produced the O2 flame. Too bad they did not support it with a software upgrade of WM6.
Guys and gals, I’ve just posted a HUGE roundup & quick review of i-mate’s all four new devices to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=1967268
2.8" VGA screen? Doesn't that seem a little small? I would rather have a 3.5" VGA any day. I bet they could still make it fairly compact. By the looks of it, that phone is huge anyways. Why not use that space and have a useful screen.

Polaris = best HTC phone ever?

with its lightness, beautiful design, autofocus camera, scroll-wheel i have to say this is the best HTC/WM phone i have used until now (having tried the Magician, Hermes, Kaiser, Diamond, Samsung i600, i780, plus many other non-WM phones)
has HTC got anything similar on the way? or possibly any similar spec/design WM/Android phones already released?
Hmmm.... camera is piece of sh*t, but the rest is true.
However, since they had to replace my radio chip due to BT/GPS problems, I doubt that can count as "best ever".
I'm looking at Blackstone ATM, and think it'll be my next HTC...
Leo sounds nice, but it's a bit ovekill for my needs... and a bit too big. And a bit too expensive.
Topaz & Rhodium were also under inspection... but I need separate audio jack and mini USB.
My opinion, no one has to agree with it...
The best HTC device ever
