Through four different ROMs (Xplore 1.1, 2.0, and CB RL, currently using 2.0 BB), I've repeatedly had the same issues when everything is loaded and done:
1. In MMS, when trying to Send/Receive, I get an error "Error Synchronizing". Now the messages do seem to go through, if I create one and send it to myself I get the message back, but I'd like to understand why I still get this error.
Q: Is there a "event viewer" or error log that can help identify the issue?
2. Unable to receive emails from Cingular Media Mall to download purchases.
Observation: After requesting the download from the Cingular Media Mall website, the CPU utilization goes up to 30% for a few seconds, then back to 1 or 2%, as if it is seeing an incoming message, but can't accept it? Text messaging seems to work okay, such as *646# or just a phone to phone message.
I've attached the CABs that I've found that set internet / MMS settings, and I've verified them against the Cingular site and what I have on the phone.
I've done as suggested in other threads, to take the newly flashed phone, and before doing anything else, install the MMS and internet settings and try it - but it responds exactly the same.
I've taken the SIM and tried it in my stock 3125, and both work fine, as well with the stock WM5 official rom in the Wizard.
Hmmm...
Just loaded the Crossbow Faria Edition, and the SMS from Cinguar worked. I had gone through the SMS settings a few times, but it sure appears that's where the issue was. I'll dig through the settings to see what's different. There may be hope afterall...
As far as MMS goes, there wasn't a MMS config, so I ran the WAP cab, and tried MMS again. Still the same sync error still came up, though it sent and received is okay.
Same goes on T-Mobile. I seem to receive MMS' just fine but I'm not sure how long ago the person sent it. Last night, it took about 20 minutes to receive the MMS I sent her.
Update
Well, it seems the Faria Crossbow definetly is a step in the right direction, in that now the SMS appears to be working correctly.
There's still a hitch though with the Media Mall though, in that once you click on the link, you get an error message in the browser that says "an unexpected error has occured". Also still haven't nailed the MMS sync error yet.
I still wonder why I bother, but I hate when something doesn't work...
Going to flash back to a more vanilla rom though, too much stuff...
I had this issue as well. the cab files weren't actually installing the mms settings. i had to put them in manually and the sync issue went away.
Gotta be magic...?
Okay, tried Xplore 2.0 again, and still can't get the MMS/SMS settings right. The MMS cab adds the GPRS settings or MEdia and My ISP, but couldn't get SMS working. Arrg!
Starting to feel like this shouldn't be so darn hard, but I went back to the Faria Crossbow rom, which has all the setings included and working. Even tried to cook my own rom, but don't understand enough about adding stuff to get it right.
Maybe there's a way to extract an XML with all of the networks settings for all modems from an existing phone?
i use the p_conn..... cab. I have never had an issue with sms or gprs/edge using this cab. With MMS, i have to set the server info manually.
Have you manually checked to see if an mms server is listed or does it only have a sample server or no server at all?
Are you using My ISP or Media Net as your internet network?

I honestly don't get it. All I run after flashing is the first cab in your post. MMS, GPRS, and SMS all work for me after that. I don't do anything else. Have you tried to call Cingular to ask them (but not telling them you are on a custom rom of course).
I've used that cab on NTS, Xplore 1.1, Faria Vanilla beta, and now my rom successfully.
btw, what radio are you running? Make sure you are using the Tmo 2.19 UK one with Cingular on WM6.

It is strange, because I took your advice and tried adding the cab you referenced after a fresh flash, but it only gave me GPRS, but no SMS. (I always do a clear memory after flashing just to be sure before adding/changing anything, including this cab). The only time I've gotten everything is with Faria's Crossbow - which I'm back to currently.
I'm running the 2.19 radio, and it's definetly better than the 2.25 that comes with the factory rom out here.
I've you've got a recipie that seems to work, please pass it on and I'll give it a try. I'm guessing it's the following process-
Reflash back to the official Cingular RUU
Flash the 2.19 TM radio (this seems the only time I can get the loader to work)
Flash the vanilla rom of choice (your remix or Xplore 2.0)
Clear Mem
Install cab
and it should work - or it works for you? These are similar steps to what I've been doing up to going back to Faria's, but maybe I'm missing something.

Ok, so with WM6 still in its "testing" phase and a few bugs that just wont seem to go away, I am being promoted at work and it will require me to use my phone as a tool for the job. ie direct push and all. Should i go back to my carriers WM5 release or Stick with WM6 in hopes that they will fix the rumored direct push issues?
i never got a direct pus problem on wm6... I use my mobile for work and i am using mb edition. I think is quite ok... on Faria`s i got some problems with gprs switching on and off all the time.... strange....
I've never used direct push. how do I go about setting it up. I can put together an exchange box if needed

I have experimented with all the WM6 releases, and have not encountered any issues at all with push mail and my Exchange 2003 Server. Within a couple of seconds of a new e-mail reaching my desktop, it hits my phone.
I also have my POP3 account check for messages at 1 hour intervals. No probs there either.
I was one of the unlucky ones who did have a problem with push email on Farias WM6 ROM. It would sync the first time the phone was switched on, but then some time later would randomly stop working even though the GPRS connection was still up and Activesync said it was 'Connected' - only a manual resync would get it going again.
I tried multiple radio ROMS, 2.19, 2.25, 2.47 and 2.61 (hoping it was a radio ROM problem) but to no avail. Interestingly, I never had this particular problem with the MB WM6 rom - but that ROM had other issues, so in the end (as always) I've dropped back to Farias 3.3 ROM which is rock solid in every area.
Don't get me wrong those of you who take offence easily - Farias ROMS are great and I'm not knocking him any way - it's just "one of those things" that's probably quirky to my setup. If when he produces a new version, I'll test again.
Andrew
Most odd. Like bradsnw I've never had a direct push problem. This includes the more than 50 individual devices I've setup in the past, the 10 or so that I upgrade on a regular basis and mine. As Faria's tester and Junior Chef in Training my poor lil 8125 has seen just about every ROM variant (and mutant) imaginable, but never a DP problem. (And I've created some near bricking ROM's let me tell you!)
One thing I always do however is to not create my initial AS profile with my PC but on my device directly. (This is the only way I can get my task OTA) and I probably hard reset my device on the shoulder of Interstate 95 or a McDonalds parking lot as many times as I do at home.
I've never had an issue with Direct Push/Exchange 2003 while using WM6 either.

I agree - very odd. I've never had push fail before on the multitude of ROMS I've tried - those sort of problems always happened 'to other people' and not me ;^)
I tried all the usual stuff, resets, new partnerships, reloading the same ROM, new radio ROMS, certificates, etc etc etc. But in the end, I had to get the phone working 'for work', so went back to 3.3. Like I said, when Farias next ROM comes out, I'll try it again.
cheers,

There's nothing wrong with your push email.
Connected is good, it means that you have a connection with the server and you're up to date. This is how it shows in WM6
When you see "Synchronized Today" with a time, this means that was the last time your device updated with the server for whatever [email protected] tihs point, if you have signal....do a manual sync.
Again...CONNECTED...is good ......... SYNCHRONIZED TODAY...is ok
If your device doesnt synchronize folders at all ....you need to adjust your network connections and get the web to work 1st and then push email.
This isn't faria specific, that's how WM6 works.

You need an exchange account.
I use www.4smartphone.com. It's a paid service that's cheap and I let them deal with the headaches of maintaining a server. The service has been 100% so far, not to try to sell you.
If you have the means and time to set up a box, let me know and I'll help as much as I can.
No problem at all with DP mail. I just give it to the people at IT and they set it up nicely for me. And I have taken it in daily because I keep changing roms!
But I am stopping at Faria's for now

dwny, I appreciate your reply, but I beg to differ. I've been using push mail for a long time now, and I know when it's working or not - I'm not going to bore everybody with pointless detail, but:
I had a working internet connection via GPRS - I could surf using Pocket IE.
It would "automatically" sync my folders via GPRS when I turned the phone on. It would then stop working later.
Manually syncing is not push email? I had set the schedule settings to 'as items arrive' - why would I sync manually?
And as I said previously, I did not get the problem with the MB WM6 rom, nor the PDAviet 3 or 4 and I do not get the problem with Farias 3.3. Mail arrives automatically via GPRS (usually a a few seconds before it hits my desktop outlook) just fine in every ROM I've tried except Faria's latest. But I'll repeat - I'm not in any way 'blaming' Faria. It's just one of those things.

Again...this is how it works in WM6
When your device says "Connected" ... you are up to date.
While there..press Menu > Status and it will tell you when your device last synchronized.
WM5 shows "last synchronized" when up to date
WM6 shows "last synchronized" when not up to date.
What I experienced:
When I get "last synchronized" ... I also don't have internet and everything was working. I go to connections and change the name of the connection and all is well. Try this & see if it works for you.....
dwny, you ARE persistant!
"Again...this is how it works in WM6"
But it *wasn't* working!
I could tell it was not sychronizing because I would get 25 emails arriving in my Outlook inbox over period of an hour, and none of them arrived on my PDA! If I simply manually synced, they would all coming flooding in.
But let's not dwell on this anymore - I'm back on 3.3 now. If I find some time, I'll do a fresh download of the ROM and try again.
thanks for you time,
Andrew

First, you get too damn much email. 25/hour? What are you, the president?
Seriously though, something has to be running to be able to get those push notifications. With all the tweaking people do I'm not surprised that things end up breaking. My suggestions are these:
1) Turn off X Button or whatever you are currently using to close rather than hide applications. WM5 and 6 were never designed for the apps to be closed every time. Many have background features that they depend on -- like poutlook. Why do you think it's in your \windows\startup folder.
2) It is *still* in your \windows\startup folder right?
Those are your hints -- all I know is that push worked fine for me as long as I left something there to push to.

President? - lol... I wish...
I get automated warnings and messages from databases and servers. And when things aren't running well, I get LOTS of emails.
Yep, poutlook was in my startup....
Anyway, after seeing all these success stories, I downloaded the ROM again (didn't trust the last download) and reflashed. Followed exactly the same procedure as normal (I flash ROMS regularly, so literally have my set routine) and guess what?
Works fine - 'straight out of the box'. I did nothing different to every other flash I've ever done....
Andrew
P.S. I now have an 'officially recognised' issue with the 2.61 radio ROM. But at least I'm back in the fold...
i am running the mun rom on tmobile usa and have no problems with exhange mail...push is working 100%
FYI - i am using the 2.61.11 radio rom

Glad to see a fresh install worked for you.
Be careful with radio 2.61.11, it's known to cause dialpad issues and missed calls with the newer roms.
i am running wm6 most beautiful addition on my g4 cid locked device and i cant get the mms to work if by any chance anyone has figure this out on t mobile USA it would be greatly appreciated..or if they could re right the guide that t mobile has that would be fantastic.

thats the t-mobile guide
thanks in advance
The T-Mobile guide is written for a device still using a T-Mobile ROM which is why it doesn't seem to make sense when you're using WM6.
I have an MDA and I've also had issues getting MMS to work under any WM6 ROM I've tried so far.
If anyone has any suggestions...
Dave
The TMobile Settings Guide in that link WILL still work. I am running Faria's WM6 ROM (quite happily I might add), just did the TMo settings myself on my CID unlocked TMo MDA about half an hour ago and MMS is now working again.
Just do EXACTLY what the directions say and your MMS will work again.
I did EXACTLY word for word and my MMS still not working...it starts to send then just dies out....and msg is moved to the drafts folder.

I have to ask since I had the same problem at first...
Did you try a manual power cycle (not pressing the soft reset button on the side or a software soft reset but actually pressing the power button for 3 seconds, letting it sit off for a few seconds and turning it back on)?
I found that with the Faria ROM, to get some changes to "stick" you have to power cycle your MDA after each and every change. Takes a while and it's a PITA, but it has solved 99% of the problems that I was having with the ROM.
If you HAVE done that already, then I dunno what to tell you guys...my condolences? JK but there has to be a permanent fix or a CAB out there somewhere...
Well, I hadn't tried the full reset was just doing a soft reset. Tried it and still same. I don't know what the issue is....lot of people are not able to send MMS. Text messaging works fine. I'll just keep trying to mess with it and hope someone finds a solution before I do.

I finally remembered what the "deal" is... the MMS instructions for TMobile has a minor error:216.155.165.050 should be:216.155.165.50
Note the lack of the zero before the .50
Give it a whirl, let me know.
--M
PS I added it to the Wiki for the next time I forget how to fix it.
Hmmm... I'll have to give that a shot. I've been using the 050 per the steps and all it would do when I tried to send a test MMS was move the message to the drafts folder and never send it.
I've got the normal T-Mobile ROM on my MDA right now and I plan on flashing it over to the Faria ROM later on today.
I'll post the results when I'm able to test it.
Dave
.50 NOT .050 : BUT Crossbow receives SMALL MMS pictures
I agree. I ran into the same problem with my very first Crossbow rom. Changing the server gateway is 216.155.165.50
NOTE it ends in .50 not .050 . This worked for me
BIG problem with crossbow roms right now: Receiving pictures messages are VERY small. They will be downsized to 160x120 and less than 15kb. 'til this day i still haven't figured out how to fix that. At first i thought it was the Arcsoft registry settings, but i have meddled through the arcsoft registry settings so many times. I think there is something else in the crossbow roms that is capping the receiving size. I have set all receiving registry settings to receive pictures in their original form or 640x480, but they still keep coming at 160x120. You can test this by sending a picture to yourself (note its size before sending it) or having someone else send you a picture. Good luck!
Hot Diggity Dawg!!
It worked like a charm. Sweeeet! Thanks for the help. I didn't even think about the server being wrong, I figured T-Mobile knew what they were doing. Guess not. XDA Dev got 'em beat.
Yep, using .50 instead of .050 worked fine for me here, too. Thanks!

I sent to my old Verizon phone (which is still working until the 23rd so I've been using it as a test phone lately) and it worked fine. I sent a picture I took with the Verizon phone to the MDA and it received. However, I did get the 160x220 or whatever size it is on the MDA. It works, though. I'll worry about other issues later.
Something I am noticing now is that whenever I connect using IE, it uses the MMS profile I set up instead of the GRPS one I set up first. It works, so no big deal. I guess.

Outgoing files from the MDA will be in full size. But for some reason, with the new crossbow roms, all INCOMING pictures will the thumbnail size (160x120). This is NOT normal. If you use the standard roms, or Xelecins Custom 2.26 rom, you will notice that you get the full size image. I have been trying to find a fix for this ever since the first cooked crossbow WM6 rom... its annoying

ok, so i set this up on my TYTN (with WM6, thx to this sweet forum).
a buddy with a moto q on sprint tried to send me a pic, but it came as a text with a http link (to sprintpcs.com). i suspect that issue was on his end.
heres the kicker - i hit the link, and IE opened, and went to the page, even though I had wlan off (i.e. it used the picturemessage connection to get there)! i tried going to google, and that worked as well! is this some form of t-zones or tmobileweb? i only have the 1000 min family plan, and i don't have any internet services added to my account. could this actually be some form of simple free proxy-based web browsing?
...or am I going to get bent over on my next bill for some previously unknown pay-by-the-kb-or-minute fees...
please advise.

Mine has been set to original and on occasion 640x480. It makes no difference. They all come in at 160x120 or smaller. Are you sure u're using crossbow WM6? Cuz so far, i've been hearing other ppl with the same problem. We all have our settings at "Original"
All pics coming in to me with MBE, mUn, and Faria WM6 roms come to me 160x120 (and I've had a couple come in smaller than that even). I'm set to Original, and I've even changed it to other settings and back again. Can't seem to figure out why this is happening.

Thanks for the reply. Does the per minute data usage work the same as the voice usage (i.e. if I have unlimited nights and weekends for voice, would the same apply to data)? Or is this a seperate rate? Is there a page detailing this at the T-Mobile site somewhere? I searched for the better part of an hour and could find no specifics.
Thanks in advance.

T-Mobile branded MDA. Reflashed to a Windows Mobile 6 version by "mfrazzz"
1. Battery life. TERRIBLE. I think it might be the phone. Got two other batteries. One lasts about as long as the original one I had and the other last just a little longer. Have yet to try a 100% new battery yet. In about 5 hours off the chrager with maybe a phone call and a few texts, it will drop to about 70%. Any ideas?
2. My MMS does not work. I know its from when I switched it over to WinMo6 and all the "fields" are empty for the settings. Customer Care wouldn't help me so does anyone on here have the required information I need to put it?
3. My LAN does not work. Possibly another thing from doing the WinMo6 deal. When I go to the Comm Manager and click LAN, the little windows loading icon comes up and goes off with the LAN not turning on.
in regard to the MMS not working, run the cab i attached. after that i reccomend going into the MMS settings/servers and then selecting the T-Mobile MMS connection, go in there (you'll see server name and such) and go to the bottom and change "Connect Via" from T-Mobile MMS to T-Mobile Data. that works well for me. keep that cab handy for future use as well.

i charge mine everyday... that was the same with wm5, but i can get almost two days of some phone and lots of email if i have to (gets down to about 10%). i dont think ive seen any pocketpcs that can make it much past two days with normal use... but it should not drop quite that fast -> one thing to try is go down to the 2.19 radio and look around for the power saving cabs (for some network connections and memory card) that are also built in to the later roms. both together make a big difference. also put your screen brightness to the lower setting, thats what really sucks the power.
if you like the xda roms, try going to xda 5. or try any of the other popular roms, nothin's pandora, antc wiz 2.0, theloon's kitchen for a custom, boring 1622, any TNT rom, whiterat's WRCX, etc... keep trying em out
i advise you to flash to an official rom first to get rid of any corrupt registries.once you do that....flash your favorite rom and after flashing HARD RESET....i do this to be on the safe side....

When I go to the Comm Manager and click LAN, the little windows loading icon comes up and goes off with the LAN not turning on.

you may want to do a search for "clean extended rom". when u flash back to an official rom, they generally have an extended rom...upgrading to a cooked rom usually doesn't upgrade the extended rom...has been known to sometimes cause battery drain issues.

if you want to do the ext rom, 2.19 radio, and ipl/spl 3.08 (might as well, its like a computer's bios) here is all three at once
2.19.11_3.08_WM6Splash_BlankExt.rar
update with this last after going back to tmo and flashing to any custom wm6 rom. after flashing with the wm6, don't worry about the setup, just go straight to the all in one, then do setup after.
Whew, should have know I'd get replies that look like hyroglyphics...LOL! I will have to do some reading to fully understand everything you guys are talking about haha. dummy version of all that possibly?
On the battery life. My screen brightness is in the middle. My other MDA would last over a full day. Heck, I left it off the charger one night without one message or call and it dropped 1%. Now, I can do that and within 2 hours it will drop like 8%

hey we all learned it at some point
radio is the raw code that drives the "radio" in your Wizard. it tells it how to search for a signal, what to lock on to, how to switch between voice and data, all the code that is need for the basic phone part of the PDA to work.
the extended rom is usually used by carriers (att, tmo, etc...) to install their custom software for the branded device, i.e. wizard becomes mda or 8125. after first starting the phone, a file called autorun.exe starts loading extra programs that are added on to the base operating system. it also starts loading the CAB files from the extended ROM, 10MB worth in the case of the wizard. these are things like MyFaves, the connection settings for data on the TMO or ATT networks, the setup my email link, etc...
hope that helps...
Not to take away from anyone else's work, but I flashed the T-Mobile Boring ROM, and haven't had a hitch, once I got all the internet setting right. I also am running the 2.71 GSM, and I can honestly say my mda runs better now than it did when it was new. Battery life improved, too. I am also a noob, and tried a couple others before I flashed this one...this worked best for me, since I didn't want to do all the tweaking (yet ) that more advanced users on this board know to do automatically.

THANKS! Good to know the n00bs don't get flamed too bad here
Ok my IPL/SPL right now on my G3 device is 2.26. If I want the 3.08 can I go right to it or do I need to go down to the 1.05? To go from the XM6r3 to XM6r5 what do I need to do? Should I just be able to go straight to that? It already CID unlocked and stuff for the current version I am on. Just confused on how to go from what I have now to the new one.
Thanks in advance!
Please Help
Ughh. Just went to XM6r5 and I have the same exact problems.....
Battery life still terrible. When I was done reflashing I was at 97% and after going through the settings without one phone call or text its already at 87%
The WLAN is still not working. Go to the Comm. Manager, click on WLAN, the windows loading icon comes up like its going to turn on, the windows loading icon goes off and the WLAN never turns on.
MMS messaging still says "error syncronizing"
Still on the 2.26 ROM
BUMP. Battery went down 6% in 10 minutes.... Is there a way I can just get back to WM5?
Oops, double post.

in regard to the MMS not working, run the cab i attached. after that i reccomend going into the MMS settings/servers and then selecting the T-Mobile MMS connection, go in there (you'll see server name and such) and go to the bottom and change "Connect Via" from T-Mobile MMS to T-Mobile Data. that works well for me. keep that cab handy for future use as well.

-My ISP
-Work
-Secure WAP Network
-The WAP Network

Thank you
For the quick fix I don't use MMS that much but I know that I can with your help.
Anyone else have the issue of not being able to get pop email from cooked Rom's? I can get exchange mail, I can get phone calls, and hear the system sounds fine. I just cant get pop mail to work. I have tried about 4 or 5 Rom's, and all the radios listed in the sticky post. Please let me know how you fixed it, or if you know how to fix it.
thanks.
Maybe it is more of a setting for the POP account than the ROM's / Radios you have tried.
Maybe the POP accounts settings or port or something else - you are using improper settings? Hard to say...
Maybe someone will chime in with news about 4-5 ROMS all having problems with POP email.
need to go through the account settings in outlook to make sure you are using the right connection. 99.9% sure it is not the rom, just the connection settings
Its the same setting I am using for the one rom that will work. And its gmail, and verizon, so it auto downloads the settings from the web.
Did you make sure you have gmail setup to use pop3 connections?
yes I did. On the rom it works with, I can set it up and work with radio .09, but if I just change to any other radio like .11 or .17 or any other is will stop working. Then change back to .09 it will work again.
can anyone help?
email just broke today
My email was working last night as late as 11 pm. As of this morning I can't even get email to launch! I have tried launching via the today screen, windows live and thru the programs pull down. Now get this, I did a hard reset and reflashed and did a restore of the last good working backup..same thing! I'm running dutty's v7b hybrid rom. Also, voice command just started giving an error immediately on a soft reset. i don't know if this is related or not, but I just started searching for email issues and saw this thread. I have both hotmail and yahoo mail account configured. This after about of week of working fine with a replacement tilt for te 3G bug. Is it possible for AT&T to send something via an update that causes problems for cooked roms? I mean why won't a reflash fix this?
rich
a little help
One thing that I had to do with my comcast email was to forward it to a hotmail account. Nothing I tried would get my comcast email to work on the tilt. This works(or worked ) great for me. My issues are some sort of conflict with apps or a memory leak of some sort, but in general I suspect some email providers don't support pop for whatever reason, so maybe give the forward to hotmail a try.

Perhaps it may help to be a bit more specific with the problem that you are having? Are you getting any errors or is it that the mail has simply not just appeared? If the latter is the case, not to insult your intelligence, but be sure to go through gmails settings and first of all enable pop...secondly, if you'd used pop somewhere else prior to that phone, you have to tell gmail again to re-enable pop mail even if it has been downloaded (I'm paraphrasing the wordage). You'll have to do this each and every time you switch the device/software you use to get your pop mail. (Imap wouldn't but imap currently is screwed from gmail's end)
without re-flashing my ROM, I can’t get the error, but it said something to the effect that it cannot connect to the server check the dialing rules. Every time I tell it to do a send a receive it would disconnect the 3g, reconnect it about 2 times, then give a issue with the 3g connection. And it’s odd because 3g works with everything but pop mail. It works for internet, and exchange email. It just when I do pop email. I have only been able to get pop to work with official att ROMs, and with radio .09

Ok, now I know exactly what you are talking about. I've had the same problems before, it seems as if autoconnect for some reason when I flashed didn't work fully. What I had to do was install the carrier settings cab that I kept over from my previous device. On some roms this happend for me, on others it didn't, it probably has something to do with the rom being HTC based or AT&T based. Try installing the Cingular/AT&T carrier settings cab found here.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=349630
I've attached to this thread as well. Be sure to report back if this works or not.
great, thanks I will have to flash it tonight and test this out. It would make me very happy.
no it did not work. It killed the internet on my phone.

For what its worth since you're flashing ROMs, try flashing Q-Mobile 1.2 (sounds like you'd want the Tilt version since you're a US AT&T user). I can confirm that pop mail works just fine so if it doesn't work for you there then you can safely assume it is something other than your choice of ROM brand that is causing the issue. Cheers,
I found what it was, I had to change isp.cingular to wap.cingular
Glad to hear...sorry it didn't work immediatly.
I have tried to mess around with 6.1 lately and for some reason I am not able to figure this out.....
I get everything working, for what I think but then I keep having problems with the MMS. I will send my wife a test message and it takes over 3 hours to get to her. When I am running WM6 with radio 1.27.14.09 it works fine, takes less then 2 minutes to get to her phone.
Now before you start grilling me, I have done a google search. I have found problems such as
1. unable to send at all - not my problem
2. MMS not working - not my problem again (works just really slow)
3. Use this cab, use that cab, I have tried them all they don't change the issue
4. Make sure your going through MEdiaNet - I am
So what I am asking, is anyone else experiencing this problem???? The only thing I have looked into is it possibly an arcsoft issue???
I don't know if this will help, but I'm finding that with the 6.1 roms on AT&T that if you allow the Network Configurator to run, various things don't seem to work quite right. I was having issues with WeatherPanel not working on the AT&T network. I've now flashed 3 different 6.1 roms in the last couple of days and did not allow the network config to setup the AT&T settings, and then disabled it (when the next screen came up). After doing this, I then ran the remove hidden proxy cab and the WAP/MMS setup cab and then did a soft reset. Now MMS works fine (I never had the 3 hour delay you described, but I did have other issues with MMS on some of the roms) and WeatherPanel also now works (haven't had a problem with it in over 24 hours where before it might or might not work, then would stop working a few hours later).
Like I said, may not help your situation, but something to consider and try.
NOTE: The method I just laid out will NOT set up isp.cingular. Only Cingular GPRS and MEdiaNet. This is how I used to always run my Wizard and dumped the $40 per month PDA Connect plan for the $20 per month Unlimited MEdiaNet.
I could hug you!!!! Oh my god, do you feel my love...do you feel me humping your leg!!!!!! It worked,,,,absolutely amazing....Thank you!!!!
Glad it worked for you, but wow, not sure about the extent of the emotion you are sending in my direction... LOL
So for future people that hit this, did you remove the other settings, just install these two cabs, hard reset and follow my above directions, or what? Just curious myself as I'd like to get to the bottom of what goes wrong (or is missed) with the Network Configuator process for AT&T.
To tell you the truth, it stopped working later that night!! I had Dutty's ROM installed , hard reseted , installed the two cabs and it worked. Then I tried sending another pic to make sure it worked about 10 minutes later.... I took 5 hours to get to my wifes phone....
It has to do something with the radio's. I tried a bunch and none work. I'll just wait till the Official 6.1 comes out for ATT and look at the settings.....
Thanks anyways!!!
if your phone said message sent then it arrived 3 hours later to the recipient then its a network problem not really to do with your phone but just incase look at other radios.

Looks like this just changes some TCP parameters and such. Is that correct? So you would use this in addition to the WAP MMS cab I posted earlier I assume.

It changes some TCP parameters and puts in the IP header compression and the DNS servers.
I really do not know what the problem is.... those didn't work either. It honestly might be something in my area, South Florida. I tried with the new radio, those files and vice versa. I am dumfounded.
As soon as I flashed back to 6.0 and used the 1.27 radio it sends immediately. It must have something to do with the radio and my area.
I appreciate all the assistance
I have the same problem. I received my tytn II 2 days ago. Previously I used the se K800i. With the k800i, there was never a problem when sending sms messages. Always very fast to send and receive but now on my kaiser, it takes a long time before my messages are received or till I receive an sms message.
Still on the stock rom version 1.56.404.6
radio: 1.27.12.32
Windows mobile 6 professional.
