Need ROM with A2DP/AVRCP support! - JAMin, XDA Neo, S200 Software Upgrading

I need a fast, stable ROM for my Qtek S200 G3 with "native", that is to say built-in, A2DP/AVRCP support. A good working RadioROM is also essential for me.
The reason is that I would like to use the wireless bluetooth stereo headset Jabra BT620s... FYI, my current ROM is the official 2.20.7.34 WWE date 7/10/06, Radio 02.69.21, Protocol 4.1.13.30, ExtROM 2.20.7.114. This is working well for me, so I'd appreciate a ROM that isn't too different from this one.
Thanks in advance all!

Why change then????

Problems with TomTom 5.21 freezing on XDA 2i

Hi All,
I have an O2 XDA 2i using the newest version of the ROM off o2.co.uk's website and I am having problems with TomTom 5.21
Every time I get a voice instruction it will then lose the GPS signal for up to 2 seconds afterwards. (Annoying if you are driving in an area you don't know that well (hence using GPS...) and you don't know for instance exactly which the 3rd turn off a roundabout is as the road isnt clear)
Also periodically (approx once every 30 to 45 mins but sometimes more often) the whole phone will just freeze, no buttons not even the power button works and I have to reset the phone. Obviously not easy whilst driving around.
I am using a Holux CR-100 GPS car mount,
ROM Versions are as follows:
ROM Version: 1.11.00 WWE
ROM Date: 01/27/05
Radio version: 1.00.00
Protocol version: 1337.39
ExtROM version: 1.11.169 WWE
TomTom reports the following on it's "Show Version" screen:
PocketPC device
App version 5.210 (5430)
Free RAM: 31.8 mb
GPS driver v1.20
Map: 'Great-Britain-Map' v562
Language: English UK
If there is any other information which might help please let me know. Hope that perhaps someone can help me???
Thanks in advance
G
hi what you need is a faster sd card it is a known fact the the xda2i has speed issues ,we seem to have come to some agreement that the transcend 80x card is the best around ,well it was for me ever since i have bought it my lockups have decreased by about 98%
Also you have the known-to-be-buggy .169 ext ROM AND the very basic radio stack ver 1.00
You would be much better flashing the ExtROm to .162 (either with the O2 stuff or without) and the latest (& more stable) Radio stack 1.04
There are other posts on this in the forums with all the links )
here's a link to a modded rom like I used:
ftp://xda:[email protected] XDA_IIi_Upgrade_v1.11.162_Radio_1.04.rar
if you want the different flavours, just ftp into the site & pick the one you want, either with or without the O2 bloatware stuff, the ftp username is xda, pwd xda.
It's easy to do: I took mine from the exact flavour you have to .162 & radio 1.04 & it;s much more stable now, no TT 5.21 probs at all and better BT support as well 8)
Joe
hope this helps
Morning,
Thanks for your help - I downgraded the ROM and upgraded the Radio stack and TomTom still crashed. Must be the SD card - will be nipping down Maplin at lunch and buying a high speed SD card - hopefully sort out the remaining problems.
Interesting observation... since doing the above mentioned upgrade the power light flashes green even when the phone is switched to flight mode - is this usual?
Cheers
G
Actually looking at Device Info, it's not downgraded the ExtROM, but it has upgraded the Radio:
ROM Version: 1.11.00 WWE
ROM Date: 01/27/05
Radio version: 1.04.00
Protocol version: 1337.39
ExtROM version: 1.11.169 WWE
I used the modified ROM that you had linked in your post - did I do something wrong?
Thanks in advance
G

All about Dopod D600

Since there is no particular section I thought of submitting the information here.Pls feel free to add.
Apart from specs some important information
-Code name is GENE 100
-No Wi-Fi
-AKU 3.2
-Looks like use G3 chip.Boot loader mode shows IBL(no IPL)/SPL 1.01.000
-aWizard can extract Extended ROM, but no other part.It can also extract the .rgu file, which I guess is not complete cos its size is around 25kb.
-It is very much light weighted and uses the same Wizard battery.
-Hv not yet tried to back up ROM using other tools.
A2DP on Dopod D600
I am using this for last 1 month.
Works great. Have light weight, battery power good etc. But have a typical problem. I am also using Sony 970 bluetooth stereo. This D600 dopod says it supports A2DP out of box. I am able to pair this with Sony 970 and it recognizes wireless stereo profile correctly. No problems. But while playback the sound is played back in MONO ONLY. But there is no shutterig sound etc. I installed Zoki A2DP patch on this PPC, rebooted paired again and sound from bluetoth is received in STEREO. But then starts typical A2DP problem i.e. staggering sound, lip sync problems etc. The famous registry hacks to solve this works. But what is this? Has anybody encountered the same problem? Why the PPC does not work out of box to support A2DP as advertised to support the bluetooth stereo? (Using AKU 3.2)
Any advice is greatly appreciated.

New Bluetooth Stack: Broadcom 1.8.7

Guys,
What do you think if we have a new Bluetooth stack to our Uni?
It's Broadcom 1.8.7 Build 0600. So far I know it is the latest build from Broadcom.
This thread has been created using Internet Connection Sharing over Broadcom BT stack (1.8.7 Build 0600).

Hi Ranju!
I'm using currently the roadcomm stack provided by Helmi (UNIBT.cab) . It works well for me! I'm not at home this time, so I can't check the version of the build, but I'm sure that Helmi's is older! It would be cool if you could include the new stack in your ROM, or provide us just a cab file to install
Thanks for your great ROM too, Ranju!
BT Problem
How i understand the version on my BT stack - Broadcomm or other ?
Anyone can post a link to the cab for the latest BT ?

In my mind the widcomm/broadcomm stacks were the best! I have only one problem with them now. When I'm using the headset profile with Helmi's stack I can't receive or make calls using the BT headset, in fact I can't hear any audio at all. The other issue is that I believe that the headset button cannot be used to initiate microsoft voice command. If these issues can be resolved then I think there will be a mass following on this project!

I've started working on the latest Widcomm build. Basic part is working now.
Let's see ...
helmi's stack was ok, expect handsfree profile, if you will port newest version, and all necessary profiles (handsfree, a2dp, and others) will be working it would be great suprise for uni users
Do you make the Handfree profile working?
Few months ago, I've tried the 1.8.7 Build 300 combined with Helmi's old one, all ok but HF.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1731139&postcount=143
I DO think it's useless without HF.
Really expect your wonderful work!
How did you combine BT Stack v1.8.7.300 with the old? I can use any directions or help.

Any chance to have ActiveSync over BT working properly with this stack and your latest ROM?
Thank you for all your efforts!

go ranju, go! seems like u r our only hope. other uni developers not so productive anymore now.
Last time I tried to install the Widcomm BT stack, it froze the phone after every bit of fiddling (i.e. after listening 1 minute of A2DP music, or after browsing the phone with FTP for 1 minute, etc)
Now that basic and some advanced profiles are also available for the MSBT stack, I don't miss the widcomm anymore.
Moreover, it's a pain in the ass to program! (i'm making a bluetooth-multiplayer game)

Where is it?
Whats the advantage that the broadcomm stack has over the MS stack? My BT is currently working perfectly (useing Ranju 7.4), A2DP works like a charm, calling thru the headset works fine. So why would we want to use another stack? (no rant, I'm really interested and want to know ;-)

It handles better with COM ports, and you can use even another phone as a BT modem for example. And the UI is much better
Hmmm... I would appriciate it. I'm struggeling with Helmi's Broadcomm BT stack, it complains about there not being enough memory. Though I do have more than 20Mb free.
And also, MS doesn't quiet work with stereo hands free either, it just stops after 5 secs. And I have tried a bunch of registry-tweaks.
So -I- for one, would appriciate work on a bluetooth stack that actually works, very much.
Thanks Ranju, for offering your work on this!
Thank you very much!

OK, maybe 4 you but for me the MS stack was ****ting with my GPS, i needed an hour to connect to my regular GPS! With Widcom it was just a click... And, for example with Ranju-s ROM you can't use another BT phone as a modem! Only with widcomm! (i know there are ROMs with MS BT wich CAN use other phone's internet conn. via BT...)
Is anybody testing this stack? Could we get a DL link to it? Thanx!

Two Versions ROMs - Different Benefits

There are two different versions of ROMs floating, each with different benefits. For seek of ease, I will name them Version A and Version B.
Version A:
1. MSVC (MicroSoft Voice Command) - Once the bluetooth is paired to the headset, from then on if the bluetooth is active, the incoming ringing sound goes to the headset, and not to the speaker phone. Thus, it either requires you to wear the headset 24/7 or to watch the display 24/7 for the incoming calls. This results in lots of mis-calls and then calling back.
Please Note: For more information on the above and how to resolve the above issue, please check out the excellent thread by Bengalih. Please go to the new Definitive MSVC thread to read about it. Thanks Bengalih!
2. The Resco Keyboard and some others cannot the set as default keyboard, no matter what sip program (or combination programs) is used. Forget that, just to activate the Resco Keyboard is impossible.
Version B:
1. IMAGiNet and/or MOBiDIV Arabizer refuses to install. Period, no if or but about it.
2. Skype installs but it doesn't work, though not all ROMs.
To wrap up:
In one month's time, I have almost flashed my tilt daily, thus trying all the latest ROMS. The only ROM which doesn't suffers from the above problems is Dutty's April 1 (April Fool's Day).
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=380991
There is another latest ROM which falls under the category of Version B is the latest PDAViet ROM. The ROM is lightning fast and thunderous. It has 32 PP and after installing lots and lots of programs (software), it still has:
Storage Memory: 102.24 Free
Program Memory: 49.75 Free
I can only say, WOW!

Hi KOR,
That makes my version 4. '4 flavours' a version 'A' I supose, with a little exeption to the BT.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=389915
- Imaginet Arabizer compatible
- Skype compatible
if Skype (or MSN) is not connecting, go to Start\Settings\Connections\Connection\Manage existing connections\Proxy settings\ and deactivate 'This network uses a proxy server to connect to the Internet'
- I added BT AudioToggle to my Multimedia build so that you can switch between the Bluetooth headset and the device speaker.

Hi userwag,
The HyperDragon II is a beautiful, stable and very fast ROM. I believe the ROM is built from the NoThrills ROM.
Unfortunately, it falls under the category of Version B. It would be nice if we can combine the benefits of both Version A and Version B together. I believe Leo would be not very far from doing so!

King,
since you spent alot of time on this, would you be able to point me towards which ROMs out there fall into the "B" category. I am looking for a fairly new 6.1 clean/lite ROM that does not have any bluetooth issues.
Also, do you think that the Version B problems may be because of NetCF 3.5 instead of 2.0? And, what exactly is the Skype problem? I have had issues after installing Skype that it doesn't properly connect, but after messing around with network and proxy settings it would function.
thx
KOR, good summarization of the most annoying problems I faced along the last 2 months. As Leo stated above, his ROM version C 6, May one is good regarding the BT problem, I am using a sterio BT headset, and the ringing tone is directed via the headset while still there in the phon speaker. I have not tried imaginiet arabizer yet, but it worked with version A.

Dear bengalih,
I am not a very heavy user of Skype. As far as fast and stable ROMs in category of Version B are concerned, the HyperDragon II ROM released on May 4, and PDAViet ROM released on May 3 are the way to go. The links for them respectively are as follow.

I see that PDAViet have released a new ROM today on May 8. I am downloading it right now and will give it a try to see how it fares.
As far as A2DP is concerned, I believe, master Leo had it mastered during his Universal cooking days!
I am charging my stereo bluetooth right now and will try to test some of the other ROMs for A2DP.

It's nice to have incomming call anouncement with MS Voice Command over the A2DP headset too.

Hi cushcalc.
Sure! These are the ROMs which I have tried.
Version A:
1. Dutty's all ROM released since April 2.
2. Leo's latest release Laurentius26_V4.
Version B:
These below ROMs are built from the NoThrills as a base.
1. Leo's releases Laurentius26_V3, Laurentius26_V2 and Laurentius26_V1.
2. Sakajati's HyperDragon II.
3. PDAVeit's ROMs released on May 8 and May 3.
4. Its Right's TNT 19202 Series.
When I first got my att tilt, TNT was one of the first ROMs I flashed. Then I tried lots of other ROMs. Yesterday, I flashed this ROM again and honestly I am impressed. I am sticking with this ROM for a while, even though the TNT ROM doesn't install the IMAGiNet and MOBiDIV Arabizer.
Please Note:
1. Dutty's April 1 ROM, is the only ROM which combines the benefit of both Version A and Version B.
2. I have not tried any ROMs released before March 31.
3. All the ROMs mentioned above are great, fast, stable and so forth. Each one has it strengths and weakness.

Best radio for bluetooth

With all the radio choices, I don't know which is the best one for bluetooth.
I use a wireless bluetooth stereo headset a lot so want a radio with best bluetooth stack so I can minimise/stop crackling.
I have searched through the forums but cannot find a clear answer.
In terms of Rom I'm using, I currently am using a 6.1 WWE rom but was thinking about changing to a PDA one(either 6.1 or 6.5).
Would choice of custom rom affect radio a lot?
Where are you located and what network are you on.it would help a lot.
For even better answers. Check the radio section that is pinned at the top of the forum
Sorry, I'm in the UK on T-Mobile.
the bluetooth stack in the rom itself has more to do with it than the radio does...pda roms are usually on point as far as BT goes, i would start with v7, also make sure that you have either SPL 3.29 or 3.34, and then one of the recommended radios for that rom series. check for posts in the pda thread from other guys in the uk as far as what might be the best radio and go from there.
Please use the existing radio thread : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=393182
