hi
we noticed there are some roms support A2DP with high quality, and some not.
so, we want to end this thing.
all you have to do it is to test three choices:
First:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Bluetooth\A2DP\Settings]
"BitPool"=30
"UseJointStereo"=dword:0
''after editing wait for 2-3 minutes then restart''
-if A2DP folder not found create it, if you can't get the reg file from the attachment, just run it, also wait for 2-3 minutes before restarting.
Second:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Bluetooth\A2DP\Settings]
"BitPool"=3a
"UseJointStereo"=dword:0
''after editing wait for 2-3 minutes then restart''
-if A2DP folder not found create it, if you can't get the reg file from the attachment, just run it, also wait for 2-3 minutes before restarting.
Third:
Just delete A2DP folder >> HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Bluetooth\A2DP
---------------
after testing please choose the most suitable for you on the poll
Thanks
These settings are not as good as what i have on both my hermes and wizard. I highly reccomend you guys use these settings. Been using these and sound is awesome. The settings have been butchered and hacked and these were the best settings in all WM6. And i think you have to make a settings folder on the wizard. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=308752 I use the third option and its awesome.

very nice to hear that, so everyone also try these to get more results.
thanks for adding bro
I think the base rom, the SD card used, and the headset also impacts what settings work best for that particular rom (So I don't know if a generic setting will work for everyone). On XM6, with my Spider headset, and the crappy SD card I have (Its a cheapo 4GB off ebay that I'm about to throw in the trash), if I try doing the steps in the post that deviusdragger points to, I get all sorts of drops, so I have my bitpool = 38, maxbitpool=50, and Jointstereo=1 (decimal not hex values). No hissing or anything and the sound is very good (for me, but I don't claim to be an audiophile so am not as picky as some appear to be).
I'm listening to The Best of Kansas right now, and both the acoustic parts and the rock parts sound equally good.
mrfrazzm i was actually using your rom and i put my settings in it, and the headset just sounded awesome. i have a 2gb kingston and a planstronics pulsar 260 stereo headset. i think i had maybe one skip but that was it. And also the quality of the songs matter alot. I rip my songs at about 200 kbz sometimes a little higher. But the quality of the music is fantastic.
as i ve already stated a couple of times, with the new bluetooth stack (e.g. in Mattt's ROM) u get much better results using JointStereo = 1

Cool and good to know I think a lot of my problem is this cheapo 4GB card from eBay. I'll try not to screw up A2DP on the next XM6 release Going to look at replacing it with a good 2GB card (the 4GB mini's just aren't ready for prime time yet )
oh, its right.
will check this for sure.

PLAzmA's Sliding Sound Pack for Wizard and windows mobile phones with slide out keyboards
*Note: only use the NUMBERED CAB files to install if you are using a TYTN II Phone or if you have the standard HTC Sliding sound system built into your rom. If however on phones like the HTC Wizard where no sliding sound is currently present, install the SlidingSound.cab file, and then launch the program and assign the files manually. The Numbered CAB files will not work for the older phone method.
List Of WAV FILES USED:
0 : Wind Chimes
1 : Piano
2 : Xylophone
3 : Futurama Bender
4 : Might Boosh
5 : Startrek TOS
6 : Dalek
7 : Cash Register
8 : Electricity
9 : Electric Motor
10: Hal 2001
11: POP
METHOD 1: TO INSTALL NEW HTC PHONES LIKE KAISER BY CAB FILES:
This is really easy pick one of the numbered install files from "Kaiser - Modern Phones CAB Install Files.rar", you can either install the complete pack or just one of the sounds, however as it must have a constant number sequence in the registry, its programmed to replace the 3 base sounds in every pack. This is to ensure that the pack works correctly despite possible older mods. This means if you remove a pack it will also take the 3 base sounds with it, however at any time you want to go back run the htc base sounds pack, make sure you first uninstall the previous pack completely and the run the base pack install cab.
*Note: above numbered cab method only for newer phones with htc slide service like the kaiser, DONOT install onto older phones like wizard as this will not work see the next method.
METHOD 2: TO INSTALL BY ADD ON SLIDINGSOUND.CAB METHOD TO OLDER PHONES:
Install cab file and run sliding sound program, turn on slide detect service and assign wav files manually, refer to the list above for the appropriate numbers, there are two files to select from a simple "SlideSound.cab" file which just has a basic pop noise, additional sounds will need to be install manually, or to install the program and sounds all in one go, install the "SlideSound - All Sounds.cab"
*Note: above cab method is only for phones without the htc sliding sounds program built into your rom and only required on older phones like the herms, wizard etc..

amazing!! Ok! Ok! OK! yess!! thanks man!
Awesome
Works great on my wizard.
Thanks
about: sliding sound
Thanks, work perfect in my wizard.
good work, i will try this cab in my Hermes and report later.
Works Great on my wizard
Thanks. Anyway we could add our own sounds?
Your own Wav Files
Yeah sure, just create in the same format, alternativly you can post links (wav) files here and i will try and add them to the pack when/if i have time.
I've tried both .cab files on my 8125 with no luck.
The program installs just fine, and I can change the sounds. But no sound plays. The volume is up to max, and other sounds play just fine.
Any ideas?
I've got the program to now play sounds and function since I realised that it was for WM 6. I've since upgraded my Wizard to the Slim 6.1.
I'm getting a 4 second delay in the playing of the sounds when I open and close the slide. I've tried using other sounds from various folders with the same result.
Thanks for making these....works great on my titan
i appreciate this kind of effort put into a feature that shouldn't be on this phone, but...
_why_ would you _ever_ want to make your phone make a sound when you slide it open? to each his own, but i honestly don't get it... don't know why its in the wing either. i don't understand why people would want their menus to make a pop sound as well, or their windows machines make sounds (the defaults that no one ever turns off)...
im really not trying to hate on it, im just curious what the rationale is for those that like the feature? is it just more desirable to have a phone make sounds?
To sound, or not to sound

Coming from a Wizard to the Tilt, personally it bugged me not to have some audible feedback when I accessed the menu, so I added that in. I can understand why one might like silence, too, but I like a small sound.
As for keyboard sliding sounds, it's just a fun thing - sometimes I turn it off, sometimes I set it up for SciFi or LightSabre to show off my geekiness to friends and family.
Are these sounds available in .wav format?
wav format
Yeah if i remember they are all in wav format and are 44khz 16 bit stereo.
Is there an easy way to toggle this off and on for the Rapheal?
well i have k-jam having wm6.1 rom,cid unlocked.
never ever had sliding sounds.
can i use this file

Hey guys,
So I finally got this outstanding TNT running and I'm getting to know it a little more everyday!
Now here's my little dilemma; I don't like WMP, never have. So on my TNT 19199 rom TCPMP was great. But on this TNT Pro (19213), it just isn't working! I downloaded the latest TCPMP that came in the fun pack, I tried the FLV patch, tried selecting all file associations on the program, even did the registry edit! Still, nothing.... IE runs wmp for vids or audios. I want TCPMP.
Is there anyway to deactivate WMP if all else fails???
Phil
P.s. - I little bit off subect here, but what is the best setting for the Pocketsnes? It runs real slow and for some reason, the buttons are never right! I like to play in landscape with the keypad.
Also, the connection between some bluetooth devices and my pda is a bit screwy. Is there some sort of patch to perfect the connection, make it more clear?
Last thing, what does A2DP do? Is that what I should use for my BT problem? And how do we set up the SDAutorun? I much appreciate that programs run off my SD card rather than clutter the pda's main memory...
By the way...
By the way guys,
I'd like to know how to release the ie touch. I don't know how to explain it, to be able to move the screen around like on opera or on the ie touchflo.... I don't want to install touchflo, just have that option on ie. I think there was a registry edit for that, although I can't remember where...
Also, I just saw a vid on youtube about the google android software on his wizard. The guy was running his wizard at 312mhz! Is that ever possible???
Phil
...?
Uhhmmmm,
Anyone?
Whats up Men! or Girl?
So I dont know... jeje sorry.
here I go...
1.- TNT 19213 has too much issues like HTC audiomanager in htc home doesnt works, no IR beam file for push it like obex, no HTC cube contacts face, this little issues makes me unhappy so i started to search fixes, NO FIXES instead!.
2.- The TCPMP is a great app, in this version from fun pack .81 RC if the flv option doesnt exist, instal the two files that are atached to this post uncompress the 2 FLV files and copy them to: storage... or root ...progam files/tcpmp/ folder that has every codec, if there is the square on file association check it! and exit the program by FIle menu... exit. and turn off the device and so... soft reset, it will function at all.
3.- It doesnt seems to be a fix for change the wmp to tcpmp plug in PIE but if you wish try the original app from streaming media cab in cabs for tnt roms forum right here on this thread.
4.- Because our poor speed processor the emulating is awfull! really awfull! none can turn landscreen on emulators, this 320 mhz omap processor maybe a 8525 device wizard like but it isnt wizard is a HERMES it has much PUNCH! i can retrieve you a most functional emulator but slow cause our processor its attached too.
5.- A2DP is stereo sound via bluetooth headset it came since aku 2 in WM5 is old but good, the issues for bluetooth that you are experimenting are normal because the new platfrm WM6.1 and ftp app.... and celphones with obex file tranfer, and other PPCs with other operative systems, this sucks but its truth.
6.- The sd autorun works simply but some programs wont be installed on your sd card, so if you don want this, its better that you can obtein cabs with options to install the program on SD or Main memory. thats cause the cab construction not for the UC capable Roms with SD autorun.
7.- For PIE touchy jeje you cant turn it touchy its better te Netfront 3.3 free version or 3.5 beta trial version. the 3.5 trial beta version has touchy settings its nice but beta trial, just change your date and enjoy for ever!
I hope to be usefull for you attending your PM, see you soon.. Men or GIRL?
I will try pda viet 19213 right here it seems to be great! jeje
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=403425
Oh it hasn't splash screens!
Watch it, all 3 splash screens can be mod! amazing this is some thing i did.
the pda viet roms dont has splash screens just the last one but is awfull jeje try this.
what an enthusiasm, wow.
have fun..
btw...
just try fockin OLD 0.81 tcpmp + whole set of 'good' plugins.
Hey everybody. First ever post.
When I think my phone hasn't been tweaked enough, I get on the internet and look for the coolest apps that I don't have and, of course, don't need (like all of you do too). But when I get on, I just find myself searching all sorts of dumb keywords and lots of the time I come up with nothing new.
So the purpose of this post is to get a feel for what apps you people are using for your phones.
Doing this might help other people looking to pimp their phone by making them aware of useful apps they might never hear of...Me personally, I love me some freeware, so don't worry, I'll be listing TONS of those! There's some detail for each app, so skim it to get what you need...
So, to kick things off, this is how I've got my gear setup.
My phone is a T-Mobile MDA: aka T-Mobile MDA Vario, Cingular 8125, i-mate K-JAM, QTEK 9100 and Dopod 838
OS: WM5
Mem: 44MB with ~6-8MB left
LAUNCHER: SPB Mobile Shell 2. I tried it, and it's the most robust, smooth, and well thought out launcher I've used. I think I'll be keeping this one. BUT. It's got built in weather that works, nice fluid 3D and flip animations, and built in contact manager & dialer. It has a $30 price tag -- you can find it cheaper -- SO if you can't get your hands on it, well, I do have alternatives.
***Also Try CLaunch (Fantastic: Free) TouchFlo (awesome - Free) and HTC Cube (free)***
MUSIC: I've now settled on Core Player Mobile. It's basically the 1.0+ version of the free TCPMP. This has support for MP3, WMV, WAV, Streams, Built in YouTube finder and player, and supports downloaded .FLV files (<<<XCLENT and hard to find support for that.)
***Also Try TCPMP (FREE: love it, make sure to get the plugin for .FLV support), also, Slide2Play (also free) is a very simple music player, but nice nonetheless.
Internet Radio: Mundu Radio (FREE) supports many streaming radio stations and anything that broadcasts in MP3 format.
***Also Try Pandora (when it comes out for your phone). This will also be free and a must-have***
Bluetooth Audio: If you want to play music from your phone to bluetooth headphones, without having to upgrade to Wm6, search for a A2DP cab. There are tons out there, get one.
Broswer: Lots of people like OperaMini, but it's too big to fit on my phone. BUT, Skyfire looks like it might be the winner of the browser wars soon...Currently I have the beta (0.85), but it is supremely faster than other browsers, supports FULL WEBSITE CONTENT (YES, FLASH -- I've been able to watch full movies on Watch-Movies.net) and it's free. They still have a few things to take care of on the buggy side such as not being able to enter data into Flash forms, but once it's taken care of, it should be near perfect.
Contact Dialer / Management: I've been rockin Photo Contacts Pro for a long time now. It has built in support for HUGE (fullscreen) contact photos that pop up when you receive a call, support for custom MP3 ringtones for each person and nice layouts.
***Also Try Face Contact (An iPhone style scrolling contact manager -- Not Free yet).***
File Explorer: Resco Explorer isn't free but it's great. Finger scrolling and inertia. Pretty cool. Plus has a trash can for you deleted files...Who knew?
***Also Try GS Finder. I highly, highly recommend GSFinder (Free).***
Weather: Weather Watcher Mobile (free) is small but powerful. It updates quickly and lists details about the day's weather, the week's weather, severe weather alerts and RADAR. Plus, you only have to update every couple of days because it stores all the downloaded info on your phone, so you don't have to connect to the net as much as you might with other weather apps. And again, it's free.
Image Viewer: Well, there aren't a lot of viewers out there that are flashy enough because I mean, windows has a photo viewer that works fine. Plain, but fine. But I suggest PocketCM ImageViewer. It has the billboarding, iPhone style, photo scrolling feature. It's way too sensitive right now in its beta stages, but once it's complete, it will be a must-have for the PPC world. (FREE)
System Utilities:
Xtra Buttons: AEBPlus (free) is the only one that I've needed. Turned 5 useful buttons into 15.
Overclocking: omapClock will overclock your PPC to perfection. Stock, my phone is 180mhz, but with omapClock I can safely overclock my phone to 276. Plus, I add a shortcut to the startup folder to start my machine off fast when I soft reset.
Registry Editors: If you're like, well, everybody on this site, you like tweaking your phone to the max. If you wanna get your hands dirty and get into that registry, i recommend Resco Registry Editor. It came with my Resco explorer lol, but it has a clean intuitive interface, great scrolling and quick search features.
***Also Try PHM Registry Editor (free)***
Space Saving & Cleaning: ClearTemp is a godsend. This will remove all of the stored cache and internet crap that is left on your phone and takes up space. Especially for us who test out all kinds of software and install/uninstall frequently, this will give you back whole Megs of storage space. Literally. I love it (Free).
Task Managers:
TaskFacade is cool. It actually shows screenshots of your currently running programs, lets you jump directly to them, and close them all in the blink of an eye. (FREE)
***Also try QuickMenu***
Do-It-Alls: QUickMenu CAN replace the traditional start menu with a more Windows Desktop feel. Instead of one big menu, Clicking the Programs arrow opens up a list of programs, folders show their contents, etc. Also, it is a built in task manager that will actually close your programs instead of letting it sit in the background.
***Also Try Pocket Toolman. Pocket Toolman will give you quick access to everything System -- soft reset, remove programs, blank screen, etc. It's fantastic.
iCrap: MusicID is the WM version of the ShazaM app for the iPhuz. Honestly, I never thought I'd use it but it has come in handy. It's small, and it works. That'll show those iPhags.
Games: Pocket Nester is a badass NES emulator. The best I've used. Plus, you can put all of your games on an SD card and it runs perfectly smooth. hundreds of ROMS. (FREE)
So, this is some of the stuff on my gear that makes it boss. And I know I'm missing some stuff too, and that's where you fine folks come in. So my people, what're you rockin?
There is a list at the top of the page in Q&A (its stikied)
Cool I found it, thanks.

i need to get some storage space open, and i DLd clear temp cab, but i'm terrified to install it, as the first posts at ppcfreewaredownload site are people saying when they installed it, it reformatted their entire phone. Any tips? thanks.

Thanks in advance to anybody that will feel like helping
yes you can flash any rom here. if going for wm 6.1 i'd recommend 3lit3 VIII found here.
for wm 6.5 recommended is megan rom foundhere
wm6.1 is quicker than 6.5. 6.5 is like vista, big and clumpy. same with vista, it's more of an interim operating system, until the polished 7 comes along. personally i run 6.1 still.
before flashing any rom, you need to flash hard spl to unlock the carrier id. see here.
see here for the complete idiots guide(no offense, i read it too), but this is NOT for polaris. it's for artemis, the predecessor of touch cruise/polaris. the .nbh files might be different, but the process outlined is still the same (active sync etc). see post 9 for the most detailed breakdown.
it's recommended to flash the original shipped rom first, then the one you want - so if you want a custom 6.5, flash original shipped 6.5 rom first, hard reset, go through the process again with the custom rom. no worries though if you wanna skip this step, you just might find the custom rom is glitchy. personally i do a double flash of the custom rom, to make sure all files etc are laid correctly. for english versions you want wwe (world wide eng).
this xda wiki page is useful here, there's a load costom and stock roms to go through.
some roms require that you flash particular radio versions. the radio is to with reception quality too. so if you've flashed and find the reception's ****, maybe try another radio.
as far as android goes, i tried it only once. there was no wifi and some other key features, so i sacked it off. you'll have to read up about it. basically though, the one i tried, sits on your memory card. you launch 'haret.exe' (i think) and it boots up android. you soft reset your device and you're back to windows. i know nothing of flashing permanently android or full dual booting.
for music i'd rec. nitrogen player.
for button config - hbutton. (eg. i have gps button press 1 for drop down start menu, hold until vibrate for tomtom, hold for 2 vibes for rotate screen to landscape). iexplorer button closes progs - but be sure to close apps down completely, rather than letting them all mount up and clog your system. this should be found under settings\system\task manager\button - 'close progs by tapping x'
you might wanna try spb mobile shell - more finger friendly, but quite a chunky app.
there's various freeware sites, this is one.
can't post any links to 'ppc warez' sites, as they're banned due to them having hacked software - tomtom, mobile shell etc etc, which is illegal.
man, there's soooo much. if the search results within xda don't come up with much, try using google followed by 'xda', eg. 'flv addon for tcpmp' or 'tcpmp flv working' (tcpmp is for video, avi, etc etc).
dude welcome to the world of ppc, happy missions. be careful when flashing. make sure you get it right.
peace
oh, another recommendation;
get tomtom or igo installed. get a car holder, charger, adaptor (for charge and music) and a stereo with an AUX input.
wack 6 or so gig of music on and configure the buttons (mine are gps: 1st vibrate - tomtom. iexplorer: 1st vibrate - nitrogen) this way when you're driving you can alternate between the two with minimal effort (and keeping you're eyes on the road).
navigation instructions still come through with the music (personally i like mr. t or yoda as my voices)
WOW!!!
Thanks so much for the info, and for taking the time to write all down, I really appreciate it. This will keep me busy for a while, thanks again

i don't get it. what do you exactly mean by "configure the buttons (mine are gps: 1st vibrate - tomtom. iexplorer: 1st vibrate - nitrogen)"???
and another freeware site:
http://www.pocketpcfreeware.com/
i mean with the hbutton app, you can configure the hardware buttons to start up installed apps/execute some commands. mine are;
button 1 (gps):quick press = start menu, press until first vibrate = tomtom, press until 2nd vibrate = rotate screen.
button 2 (iexplorer):quick press = close current app, 1st vibrate = nitrogen (music), 2nd vibrate = cleartemp (freeup ram)
button 3 (camera): notes, calendar, calculator.
etc etc.
i was just saying that personally i like to keep my eye on the road as much as poss. so if you have the phone mounted on the windscreen (and hooked up to an aux/bluetooth stereo), without having to look, you can quickly - and by touch - bring up the music player.
if someone calls and you feel like changing what was playing (it will continue automatically), you only need press til 1st vibe to bring the player up again and access something else (obviously by sight now).
if your going somewhere you don't know and need tomtom, have both music running and tomtom (instructions are heard with music still playing), changing back to the player is easy - to change album etc - then press til vibe gps to bring tomtom navigation back on screen.
nothing major, just a personal preferance
So, after a lot of reading, I have done it and everything is working great. Thanks again for the tips.
