It's a great rom, generally.
But i have 3 problems with it.
1. My 818pro (prophet) is flashed from stock 2.0 to AKU 3.3.13 ASERG. Radio rom 2.19.21--> 2.69.21. it worked with my GPS receiver through bluetooth, but not my bluetooth handsfree.
both devices are BT class 1.2. Just I am not sure what to do with it?
Is it a problem with the radio rom or the AKU rom?
2. Settings for phone is not working. it claims "the phone is not ready. wait 15 seconds and try again." Contacts on SIM are accessible, and phone calls seems alright. Is that again a radio rom problem?
3. The WM5 on the phone used to be in Chinese version. It showed Chinese perfectly. In the ASERG one, even CE-star is installed (a chinese viewing software), it is fine on chinese webpages and filenames, but not in softwares. (As attachment).
According to my experience on recovering and backing up the stock OS, the problem is likely caused by a corrupted file called "bmmini.ttf" under windows/fonts. Any ideas? Any chinese here? would you mind to upload yours here for me to give it a try?

problem 1. do a hard reset (cam+voice+reset,then hit send) see if that fixes you bluttooth. You will loose all the contact and installed software on the current phone.
problem 2. After problem 1 see if that fixed it. I dont think this is radio related
problem 3. Search on www.pdafans.com plenty of chinese input software. I personally dont use chinese input, only the country settings to read chinese char. if u need that cab i can upload.

after i hard/soft reset many times, and tried different radio roms/ settings,
all three problems has been solved.
1. bluetooth handsfree: I didn't registered the handsfree to a "new phone (rom)"
2. it was a radio rom problem. I went back to 2.20.21. It also resulted in faster initial loading time and eliminated some strange error messages. (I tried 69.21 and 61.21, not good for me)
3. I backed up all data, hard reset, restored all data except the "bmmini.ttf" i mentioned. It worked. Also, i found that the spb backup did a bad job on recovering PIM data on the ASERG rom, I skipped that part. (It will screw the contacts, jobs and the calender part)
I hope these can be useful information for others.

Righ, I hope someone can help...
downloaded Faria ROM, ran flash utiliy, when it gets to 99%, the utility quits out with the communication error message. The phone, in the meantime, gets stuck on the 99% bit, and doesn't seem to go any further.
Any suggestions, please?

Actually solved it now, using the ShellTool tool...
However, got two new problems:
When trying to re-sync my contacts, I get an error 8007000e, device not having enough memory. Tried rebooting both my laptop and my wizard, bu nothing solved it. Searched the forums, found one reference, but no solution. If anyone has seen this, any ideas? I've also tried removing my partnership, to no avail.
Second problem I guess could be related - when I try to launch contacts on my PPC, it seems to launch, but it goes back to desktop straight away.

Did you use some backup utility (like Spb Backup) to restore your contacts from WM5 to your new WM6 device? WM5 PIM Database is a different format than WM6 PIM database and I've seen similar errors when someone tried doing a restore from a WM5 backup to a WM6 install.
I'm just using outlook 2003... synced all my contacts into it, and assumed WM6 would sync them back up again?

Yes, that is correct (you upgraded to ActiveSync 4.5, right?). Not sure about your error then as I suspected a WM5 backup restored on WM6.
When you upgraded to WM6, did you flash back to an official ROM (like TMobile 2.26) before doing the Faria WM6 rom? I find it cleaner to not flash from a custom rom to another custom rom.
At this point, I think its worth reflashing your phone. Drop back to an official rom then upgrade to the Faria one.
BTW: You've never mentioned if you have a G3 or G4. So if you are a G4 be careful doing this.

I already flashed my Wizard G4 (MDA Vario T-Mobile) several times with Faria's and X-plode and everyting goes smoothly but the erros always show up. Beside those errors, everything else seems to work just fine. WPA2, GPS softw, phone, etc etc
AdamR78: what rom of WM5 are you using? Can you give me a link so I can download it?
As for the contacts and new appointment problem it seems that if we run Clear Storage (Settings --> System --> Clear Storage) it does the trick. At least for me it seems to be working.

A simple question.
How can one tell what kind of a unit he has, is it WWE or is it ASIA or maybe another, I have bought my unit 2nd hand and since then had problems with the softwares and radio roms.
I have used WWE rom, and I just can not get all my contacts in, I have used ASIA and for a few days all was working fine, till something happens I reset the unit and either data is lost or the radio has no signal etc.
Another question, is it possible to stop the Automatic Customization after a hard reset???

WWE or Asia depends on installed ROM. Type can be Polaris 100 or Polaris 200, AFAIK, and is visible during hard reset.
What ROM are you using now? Looks like trouble with ROM or bad device.

For the moment I am using a cooked rom Khanx 1.6 Pro.
I was really fed up with the Original Rom as I said it was fine for a few days, working smoothly, even backups by SPB were fine, and suddenly one day the unit froze and I had to reset after the rest nothing worked, all data lost.
Even after Hardreseting I was having problems with 'VDDemon' each time, only after re-installing the rom for a few times I was able to go back to working with it.
I mainly use the unit for telephone (ofcourse), mail, notes and sms.
By the way when I enter bootloader, I can see POLA100 MFG, and the SPL-2.20.Olinex, CPLD-2.
And what I meant about the Automatic ..., when you hard reset the unit you get a windows saying that in 3 seconds and automatic instal is beginning, how can one stop this instal????????
So really I am not even having fun with it at all.

Could you try device for few days with "bare" ROM, meaning no other software installed? Maybe it's software incompatibility.
For stoping customization check thread I mentioned, think it's described there. But I might be wrong, it could be some another thread. In any case, I remember reading about it here and a way how it can be stopped.

After I tried the update of the Radio Firmware 0.89 my handheld acts like crazy. I am tired of customizing it and then having to hard reset it!
The problem is: after about 2 days of working the sound mutes completely on my IPAQ 614c, with the new Radio! Also when I try to restore my backup (I used multiple backup software like Sunny backup and Resco Backup) it also mutes completely. I already tried going back to 0.88 but the problem which appeared seems not to go away (when I restore the old backup file I never had issues with, now the phone mutes even on 0.88 ).
Please help. I would need any advise on how I could correct the mute problem after it appears. It is most probably a registry issue or a windows file issue (maybe).
I appreciate any help, as I am in despair.

Hi,
I had the same problem once. It can be solved by enlarging the pagepool to (minimal) 4MB. Pagepool can be changed with Schap's Advanced Configurationtool 3.3 ...

I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask about this, but i'll just give it a try.
Recently my diamond started acting weird. Suddently some data wasn't there (Like contacts), and then after some time the phone freezes. Then i reeboot the phone by pressing the Reset button in the back, and then when it boots again, it is trying to make the firstboot screen again, but it cannot configure again because there is no more space for that. :S
Then i Re-flash the phone, and it works for like 3 hours and then Does the above again.
Anyone know what this can be, and if i can correct it?? I think it is some sort of hardware thing, but hope you guys know better

I don't know if your problem is similar to the I had, where my phone would freeze at a random point and resetting was the only option. After the reset the phone would delete everything on the main memory (including messages and contacts). After a month with reflashing different roms, I think I kind found a solution that I hope also works out for you:
1. Download the original stock rom from HTC:

by MysticGenius. (The method basically deletes everything and gives you kind of a fresh start)

Two days ago I was forced to do HR and installing everything from the beginning (including a program S2U2). Previously this program had a perfect set up there that everything worked as it should. Unfortunately, after HR had to set options from scratch since it abolished the settings file.
And here the problems begin ... see if I have locked the phone S2U2 program and comes to me is a combination of:
first screen (turns and shows the caller's picture) inform me of this after about 3-5 seconds
second ring with the vibration is also included in the time (despite setting a ringtone + vibration)
thirdly, when I answer a call by sliding it all hangs ... slider is not working, the game is still ringing, vibration "beeps", the keys to lock the phone (along with the key with a green handset). Only one I can turn off the phone by removing the battery.
And what is strange when you restart your phone, such a combination is not recorded in the history of the device (as if it was not at all).
What can I do about this? Do you have any solution?
PS. Just please do not force me to re-HR (the latter has already resulted in almost two days removed from the life of uploading and installing everything back on the phone)
After several hours of testing anything new did not work.
And I tried off the SENSE (on a clean windows), enabled SENSE but uninstall S2U2 still the same: when I receive a call the screen locks up and I can not in any way to answer this connection (shown a picture of the caller and a ringtone that lasts indefinitely until the remove the battery) ... Sometimes when I set S2U2 slider can receive and answer the call even talk during conversations, but everything is blocked and only helps to remove the battery.
I also noticed that it stopped working light sensor which is not to extinguish the screen ...

are you still on official 1.48 rom? i suggest you to upgrade to a newer rom and, if you go for a custom rom, make a task 29 before that. I think there is not better option, sorry. btw, it is only my opinion. good luck.

are you using xt hacks2? leave that program, it may be the cause of your problems. still, you need to upgrade
i cannot guide you step by step as i'm not so good in english, anyway, if you go for custom rom first you have to HSPL your device

then you have to choose your rom, there are plenty out there, in the end you have to flash, it's not that complicated believe me, you will need 15 minute to do all these things. if you never flashed your phone you don't even need to perform a task 29 right now, just remember to do hard reset after you flashed the rom.
flash rom, radio, hspl are all done with same operations: plug phone to pc with activesync, launch exe files, wait

windows mobile is already included in rom
1) HSPL
2) RAdio, this step depends on what custom rom you pick, there are custom rom with radio included, others without the radio (in this case you have to install suggested radio), see the rom thread for more informations
2) Flash rom
3) hard reset

easier way? install a stock rom 1.66, you don't have to HSPL and worry about which radio choose, it is all included
my GF has the same prob on her HTC mega (touch 2)!
on mine HD2, all works fine....
