Which Radio verson is Best 1.8.00 or 1.9.00

hello,
I have imate ppc with radio version 1.8.00. i just installed it. But now a days radio version 1.9.00 published. which one is BEST and WHY?

1.9 came like a rogue in the night from a small operator
and have never been released by the big ones like tmobile and o2
havent heard about fixed issues or new issues in it
dont think that many people changed to it
you can use search function to find the other posts about it

I have been using 1.9 for about a year now and don't have any problem.
Light on the battery usage and good reception.
Works very well using Vivi's Flightmode.

But C_shekhar mention that 1.17 is much better and u do not need to use flight mode

I'm using 1.12 because there isn't any problem with AIS network in Thailand when it change from 800 -> 1800 or 1800 -> 800 (depends on the location), but with 1.18 and 1.19 , the signal usually gone. So I have to do a Softreset.What you get from 1.18-9 is the battery life.
The weak thing in 1.12 is that you cannot send fax. It's only work on 1.18 and 1.19.

I don't have an idea which cellphone you are using.
But for my XDAII, 1.12 works perfectly.
I just upgraded it from ppc2003/se to wm5 using:
llbasha-WM5-AKU35pp16c3R.rar
but it has no radio. I tried 1.19, 1.17. 1.18 which took me half day but to no avail. I read at:

But it took me a while to find out how I can install it. What I did was download this files:
1. HimaUpgradeUt_noID.exe
2. Radio 1.12(needs to get the file Radio_.nbf from it using rar software
Copy (1.) and (2.) on the same folder and run (1.) and wait for 30 minutes.
I was relieved after using radio 1.12 as the signal came out.

Having tried most roms: Shipped, Wm5 cooked and Wm6, i found Aserg3313 to be the best in terms of phone use.. ie calls, sms, connectivity, and its speed.

I feel Radio 2.47 consumes more power compared to the 2.61 version. I have been switching between these 2 versions, and feel that the 2.47 version works best for me.. ( at the cost of a lil extra power consumption)

to use radio rom with aserg...what is the best? 2.47?

i'm interested to know too. Is there any evidence one radio is better than the other than "feel"? i'm not sure what excatly changed between these radio release? what is the newest prophet native release of the rom? i want to compare to that release as well.
I understand each people might have different rom/program to work with. maybe we can start using this thread to post results to compare:
device + spl/ipl ver + rom name + radio + battery consumation + optional "i feel" section

I'm using aserg 3.13 with 2.61 radio.
The only problem i have is that i cannot send receive MMS.. Could it be a problem with the radio rom?
Does anyone have the same problem?

i'm testing asreg 13 with radio 2.47, and sms come's a little later! it was the only 'bug' i have found in this radio rom!

just bought my kaiser, i was previously using blueangel so i have some idea about how to upgrade.
since i'm new to this section and been trying to access wiki but i can't, just need someone to point me to the latest or "best radio rom" so far, a link would be much appreciated.

if your going with the newest 209 or 213 rom you need a 1.65 radio but not the 1.65.17 RADIO

what if i decide to stick to my official ROM and only upgrade radio
is that possible? as i hate to loose the apps installed on it.

There are a couple of stock radios to be found on the forum. mostly 1.27.x.x
be sure to read about HardSPL.

the thing to keep in mind about radios is that wm6 radios work w/ wm6 only and wm6.1 radios work w/wm6.1 only. if u want to keep ur stock rom (wm6) than any wm6 radio will be fine. like abov poster said make sure u get hardspl first be4 u do any flashing also be careful as there are some radios that lock u meaning once u flash it u can't change it ...
unless u r security unlocked.
being new to kaiser i would highly recommend a complete read of kaiser wiki.

softreset is automatically.
no need of HARDRESET.
But if you want, it is better.

What's the purpose of upgrading the radio rom? Will it give my prophet 3G network compatibility or something? Do you mind writing just 1 line of the benefiits of upgrading for each of your ROMS? I find you have contributed a lot but I just dont understand it. I've read the wiki too. I'm still using default ROM 2.15 with WM5

Flashing a Radio ROM will upgrade the software used for call handling, bluetooth and WiFi. It will not give you any functionality like 3G, but may increase Reception, and reliability of other Radios. It may also alter battery life.
If it's working fine at the moment, there is no real need to upgrade.

I'm download this Radio Rom and hoping it'll cure my problem.
How do I flash this Radio ROM? Do I use the Wizard Service Tool V4? A amature question so please bare. Unless it has its own execution then disregard my question

I enter the phone into Bootloader and ran Radio ROM 2.19.21 which is what I had original and program indicate "Error [300]: Invalid Update Tool. This update utility cannot be used for your PDA phone. Please get a newer Update Utility."
So I tried other version and getting the same message. I'm very confused, plz help.

IT"S FIX!
I simple use the Prophet Tools Light and it worked! everything back to normal!

Guys.. I understand that what the radio rom is for... Wifi, GSM, Bluetooth etc.. and that 2.19.21 is THE recommended 1.. but.. can someone please explain why? whats the difference between 2.19.21 and the latest 2.69.21 etc? If someone can post a brief guide on the pro's and con's of each radio rom then that would be great! Im particularly interested in a rom that gives the best wifi distance if anyone can recommend one? Also.. If I upgrade the radio rom will that affect my ability to access certain networks in in different countries? Im in South Africa would like to continue being able to use it in South Africa.. but would like longer wifi range if possible.. Thanx

I recommend it, because last time I test it. This RADIO ROM is more stabil and has aa good battery usage.
But If you think that 2.69.21 is suitable for you. You can use it too.

Thnx Varanusvincent.. so i take it that upgrading the radio rom wont have an effect on which countries I can use the phone in? See the last time I tried to flash a fone it ended up only being able to work in Canada! Oopz Dnt Ask! Hehe
Anyway, it just seems to me that the reason people create upgrades is to increase stability rather than decrease it and maybe provide new features.. I doubt that radio roms will provide new features.. but I am hoping for longer wifi range no matter what the battery drain may be.. so think i'll just take a chance this weekend and play around with the radio roms and see what happens then.. Hi homies.I have a big problem with my qtek s110(128mb ram)I can't change rom from 2.03 tx.I have radio 1.12 but I still can't change on catula rom or even original rom.What's going on??I will be realy happy if somebody have solution.

u should do bootloader (power off+ camera+ reset)button at the same time .and after u try with Cotulla rom as WWE 3.0X (also WWE 3.05) , ur ram is 128mb,right?but u must remember that radio rom shoud be 1.12 not 1.13,if u 1 work with WWE 3.03. And with another, im not sure
and 1 way u should delete radio rom file of HTC magician WWE 3.0X by Cotulla in folder upgrade before u upgrade to ppc
