I'm looking at placing a shortcut in my taskbar that would equate to:
START > SETTINGS > SYSTEM > MEMORY > RUNNING PROGRAMS
I can't seem to find out how to make that "Running Programs" tab open...it always defaults to the "Main" tab...I'm using "ctlpnl cplmain.cpl" for my shortcut. I know I've seen it done using BatteryStatus, but never looked at the shortcut within.
Anyone know what I need for the shortcut to work properly? Anyone want to look at their BatteryStatus shortcut and relay to me what it is?
Thanx.

Hi,
From my app launcher (Ultimate Launcher), I want to add a link to "Programs" and also "Settings" in the start menu.
I tried fexplore.exe \windows\start menu\programs, but this does not open with the same large icon look as when started from the start menu.
Can someone please let me know how to do this?
Thanks in advance!
Figured out part of the answer...
Okay, I figured out how to open the "Programs" menu. You simply run \windows\folderview.
Now, how to open the "Settings" menu?
here is a zip i found for opening the settings panel/menu/whatever...
good luck! thanks.
Thanks! I really appreciate it
Shortcuts to folders
Okay, after searching everywhere and finding very little, I found a way to create a shortcut to a folder straight from HTC Home launcher. Using Mortscript and "\Windows\File Explorer 2.exe" File Explorer 2 seems to be a copy or a continuation of GSFinder+. Anyway open the app and configure the view the way you like. Then create the script with the line below. For some reason HTC Home refuses to recognize any shortcut named games or linked to games in the \windows folder. I ended up creating a shortcut called gmz.lnk in the \Windows\Start Menu folder. (yes you have to follow the 7 items rule for the start menu)
Code:
Run("file explorer 2.exe", "\windows\start menu\programs\games")
Clear as mud right! Hope this helps someone.
My goal is ultimately to add a few more icons to my today screen.
I am using "Device Status" as my launcher, and "Shortcut Creator" to associate/attach specific icons to .exe programs which I have created shortcuts for.

Anyhow, I'm trying to add a few more icons such as "Power" and "Screen" to my Today Screen Icons.
Power settings and Screen settings are accessed via the WM6 Start Menu, then going to settings, in order to adjust the power settings or screen brightness.
-
When going into file explorer and going Windows\Start Menu\Programs...there are a bunch of .exe's, but when navigating to Windows\Start Menu\Settings the folder is empty, or all items seem to be hidden. I've tried navigating to that folder with Shortcut Creator and with Total Commander, but the folder still seems to either have completely hidden/nonaccessible items, or I'm missing something... any ideas?

yeah those files are part of os and aren't visible/accessible from that location. however every program must be somewhere in the windows directory (just like on pc) so you can just create a shortcut to the programs file.
in the kaiser the "power" menu under settings is controlled by "Powerexe.exe" path for this is \Windows\Powerexe.exe.
they are located in htc-setttings.exe that folder is for you to add things to the setting menu

its rom dependant i guess, there used to be a file called "control.exe" you could use to open the setting folder but i can't seem to find it anywhere.....
i did find a post that refrences it though so i'm not crazy

I have a Sprint TP2 with the SPrint WM6.5 ROM.
I am using the "Windows Default" Today Screen Items because HTC Sense is so slow and makes my phone screw up all the time now.
I like it, but I would like to modify which items are on the list. How can I do that?
I can change the items on the list, but once u select the Windows Default, you cannot select anything else. I like the default, but just want to add/remove some stuff.
Thanks in Advance!
Any ideas?
there should be a setting for start menu that allows you to change which programs appear in the pull down menu. i've been using the sense menus lately so i forget how to go back to tell you exactly where to find it but i know its somewhere. if i stumble upon it i'll let you know.

In stock rom there isnt that many options to check/choose from cuz its WM 6.5
To check what is available go to Settings -> Today -> items (tab)
(could be different in Sprint version)
Hope this helps
EDIT:
I hope we were on same page.. or not.. if you want to edit quick links then all you have to do is access pull down menu and on bottom right corner select delete then select all apps to remove them.. after you hit done then plus + sign should show up.. click on it and select app that you want in that place
If I go to the settings for Today, I can choose multiple items, but it looks bad. If I choose Windows Default on the menu, I cannot choose any other items. So I am looking for a way to customize whats in that Windows Default setting. I thought it would be a registry entry or something, but cannot find it.

as far as i know you wont be able to add any stuff same way as you were able to do it in WM 6.0.. Do some research on Spb shell. you may like that or check out Iphone Today Theme on xda-devs.
I have been looking but haven't found anything yet.
I just want to add some items that fit into the Windows Default Today screen item. They already have those slider buttons and I would like to add some new ones.
Try "Home Screen Customizer". I use it to add a contacts panel and a weather panel, but it can do more. You can install it through Windows Marketplace too. Oh, did I mention it's free ? Here's a direct link to the application site: http://homescreencustomizer.spaces.live.com or the link from Marketplace. Hope this is what you're looking for. Thanks.
Doesn't Show Missing Calls?
Hello,
I JUST upgraded to MR2 from verizon on my touch pro 2. My main concern is that it does not show the missed calls on the home screen anymore. I have to go to notifications to click on missed calls to see them.
When i was looking around i saw this thread:
ww.wmexperts.com/tags/touch-pro-2
(sorry i had to take the w out of www to be able to get the link above to post)
and it shows a picture of my phone, with the MR2 upgrade WITH the missed calls showing!
What am i doing wrong? How do i get my missed calls to show back up on the screen.
as a side note, it also shows calendar items, my phone also does not show calendar items. It seems to me that my first row of quick links is up too high (that is where the missing calls and calendar show up on the picture for MR2)
Hi, I just bought a stock Sprint Touch Pro 2 and I really want to find the option that I can disable the HTC sense.
I have tried to find the settings tab but actually my 'settings' is not the one I want. Following is the list of all options in this settings:
Personalize (wallpaper, etc)
Wireless Controls (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, mobile networks, push mail)
Sound & Display
Data Services (options for ActiveSync, social networks, e-mail, etc)
Location (set location service options)
Security (encryption, phone lock and reset)
Application (remove programs, etc)
SD card & phone storage (view available storage)
Date & Time
Locale & text
Updates & feedback
Other (miscellaneous settings - none appear to be relevant)
About phone (battery status, device info)
So by which I can disable the HTC sense?
Thanks first.

Since you are using Win 6.5 and HTC sense is still on you will have to go by this path -
Go to setting > bottom right there is "Menu" written click that > will give you an option of " All Settings " select that > then find the icon name " Today " select that > it will take you to a screen where u will have two tabs on the bottom left - " Appearance" & "Items" here select " Items " > You will have a list of itmes the third one will be will be checked -"HTC Sense" - uncheck it > then click OK on the top right.
You will now have HTC sense disabled. If you want to re-enable just check it again and click OK !
Hope this helps!
Thank you very much for your reply, abhisahara
I have got it
Thanks again!

So, I was intrigued by images of the new Titanium Chome of WinMo 6.5 and finally disabled the samsung ui. I also began doing some more common registry tweaks on the device to increase performance. I came across the enable or show windows settings and disable samsung settings in start menu registry edit so being curious I enabled the registry to show windows settings. I'm not sure what exactly happened, maybe because I had the samsung touchwiz interface disabled already and windows settings were up; regardless the icons completely went missing under start menu. This means there is no honeycomb of applications and programs on the device, there is simply just "today" at the top and thats it. The entire start menu screen is completely blank. Now I reversed the registry edit by connecting the phone to a PC registry editor and did a soft reset however it did not revert the settings.
While exploring some start menu customization options i found where the specific icons are located and they all seem to be there with intact rankings, meaning they should show up but for some reason they don't.
The specific edit I did was this:
SHOW WINDOWS SETTINGS IN START MENU
Open any registry editor, go to path:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\Shell\StartInfo\
Value 'HideSettings' Set to '0'.. and soft-reset...
When it all comes down to it yes I could do a hard reset; however that would mean I have to reinstall all my programs and data which is a huge pain. I want to avoid this procedure. I'm guessing that there is probably another registry key overriding the icons and programs from showing however I have not found it poking around.
Has anyone else encountered this problem, or by some chance have an idea on how to restore my start menu icons?:
Hi,
hope it's not to late yet, hope you didn't hard reset yet.
Your problem is the so-called "permdir-problem". It's a problem of language settings. I'll show you how to solve this. Here's the solution :
1) you must go to the file \windows\initflashfiles.dat .
2)Attribute it to Word (select initflashfiles.dat > hold > select 'properties' from the context-menu > select the 'associate'-tab > select the program \windows\pword.exe > ok - all .dat files willfrom now on open in Word when double-clicked. To undo: remove association with Word of any dat-file in associate-tab)
3)open initflashfiles.dat in Word.
4) find:
; Start Menu contents
Directory("\Windows\Start Menu")ermDir("Programs")
Directory("\Windows\Start Menu")ermDir("Settings")
Click to collapse
5) Read the name in the second line. Here it says "settings". Sometimes this has been changed into another language: paramètres, instellingen, ...
6) create a new folder in \windows\startmenu with the name you read in the second line.
7) set HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\Shell\StartInfo\'HideSettings' to '0'
8) give it a try and click on the start-icon.
