Active Sync Notification File, accidentally deleted... - JASJAR, XDA Exec, MDA Pro ROM Development

I know there was a link providing some CAB files to restore the lost Active Sync Notifications on our Universal. I just could not find it. Can someone please post the link again?

Found the solution myself: http://www.cs.pitt.edu/~jmisurda/ppc/blog/index.php?entry=entry051203-201515

need to extract Contacts from backup.stg file

Anyone know of PC software that can open a Backup.stg file, and let me extract the Contacts into a usable format?
I've tried STGViewer - but its doesn't seem to let me do anything with the extracted Contact files.
I've tried to download Mobile Vault from;

Thanks in advance.

possibe alternative solution
Activesync restore was telling me that the database files were in use. The running programs application in my 02 xda doesn't really show all running programs. I installed magic button and when the active sync tells restore tells me to check the running programs, I just ran magic button and killed everything except for activesync. Click on retry and the databases where restored successfully.

Auto install an outlook signature.

Is it possible to copy/install a signature into PPC Outlook? I have looked for a reg setting but have been unable to find anything even close. Is this stored in a database on the device?
you can copy a sig from outlook and then make it a text file and save it as "sigature.txt{" then place it on your phone in location root>My Documents>UAContents and over write the one there.
Hope this helps.
Thanks for the tip. Couldn't get it to work. Copied my signature over to the UA folder but it didn't make it into my emails. There was no signature.txt to overwrite.

Try first creating a sig on your device and then check and see whether the file is being created or not, and where. Then overwrite it.
I have tried searching both files and registry for the entry.
I am assuming it is stored in a database and I will need to use .net to write some code. Its only been 6 years since I stopped coding, how hard could it be?

Where to download WM5 Messaging Client?

I've somehow goofed and deleted the default messenging client when I was trying out other alternatives. I ended up liking it better than the other solutions I tried and just want it back now. =\ Is there anywhere I can grab this (download, et cetera)? I can't seem to find it anywhere. Or, do I have to do a clean install to get it back? Is there a way to browse a ROM image to grab what I need from it? IE: the Messenging files only?
Thanks

In Total Commander or whatever file explorer you use
In the address bar, Type:
Extended_Rom
Click on the Signed_OzPocketPC.Cab file.
Thanks for the reply. I was able to browe my extended ROM just fine but that file is not in there. I'm on a Wizard using a clean ROM which I would assume has something to do it.
Thanks
There is a link in the wizard forum that has the cab attached. Do a search there or try the Howard Forums T-Mobile Windows Mobile forum. I'm sure you'll find it....
Edit...
Here you go, about 3 post down...

Thanks, I've been unable to find the CAB file as of yet but I will keep searching.
edit: Thanks!
if you mean msn messenger then they prob only removed the shortcut
try looking in the win dir for the exe

How do I open Bookmarks in File Explorer/Total Commander? {WinMo 6.1 issue}

Ooops, I am aware of the accidental double post, please delete it
Hello, I have tried EVERYTHING.
I have tried putting down the parameters you guys gave me and even using the registry change cab, I've tried Xperia Tweak, I've tried J.S. Advanced Config, I even used a registry editor myself to fix my file associations problem.
But it is impossible for me to open the bookmark aka URL file.
Can someone help me?
Is my only way to make URL files open via PIE or Opera Browser is to reformat and hardware reset my phone?
Can someone please give step by step guide to do this. Someone has helped me before but it seemed to do nothing.
When I click on any url file, it brings me to the associated browser but than it brings me to an error page, WHY DOES IT NOT BRING ME TO THE ONLINE WEBSITE?
People please tell me that it is possible to open saved/bookmarked links on a phone's file explorer!
Is it possible?
BUMP, Is it possible?
Can someone just tell me what happens when they open a url file? because it takes me two hours to reformat and setup my phone.
Bump? (please tell me if it is illegal for bumping)
I am still waiting for an answer LOL.

Cab file creation

Hello all,
I am trying to create a cab file for some application (exe file) that I have.
I use WinCe cab manager ... I figured out how to create the cab, which I have then been able to install.
My question is - After installation, the program shortcut does not appear in the programs menu, both in the start menu or in the list to add quick launch icons.
(i can launch the program by navigating to it ...Program Files et al)
Can someone please help me, and let me know what I need to do to list it in the programs list??
Thank you for assistance.

Did you create a shortcut in Cab Manager? It does not do it automatically.
It might be easier to help if you post the cab so others can see how it's setup.
Thank you

He included an exe file ....and I have now created a cab file with it ....
