Hi guys
My 2GB Mini SD card is not working. I have a Trinity - Orange SPV M700, I wonder if anyone could tell me how to I fromat it and which FAT system to use?
Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I did try to use File explorer and looked everywhere in the Settings section.
I am thinking, maybe I need to use my card reader in the computer or do I have to buy a 3rd party program to do this?

hello..i want to ask u guys about the SD ..
someone told me that the SD will not work in any other device but the u r using..

well no unless you are somehow using the nativ encryption in the card then unless the password or whatever are using the card cant be used never heard anybody using it though
so if i changed my device (i'm using an i-mate) in the futrue to nokia or whteer can i still use the same SD ?
yep the nokia of cause would not be able to read ½ the data if it was written for the imate
i mean if it was like that there would be no such thing as a sdcard reader which many of us use to get data to the sdcards
Yeah in your case the different operating systems from iMate and Nokia means the data (files saved) on the SD card would be different but the SD hardware is compatible to both.
That allows us to use more than one card in our digicams, ppc's etc and swap them around as we like.

ok what can i do to get my data saved on the SD (from the i-mate) on other operating systems ?
even the images like JPG won't work?

I'd suggest you could try to copy the files you want from the SD card to your PC, then format the SD card in your new device, then copy the files back to the SD.

and i havn't copy my data to the pc..
and try to put the sd on other device...will it work?

If the device you try to read it in has the same operating system as the device which write to the SD in the first place then yes. For example I'm pretty sure any PPC will read an SD card written to by another PPC.
Or if it was written to by a PPC then you can also read it in a windows based PC using an SD card reader.

I have a ORANGE SPV M5000 with an SD card 2GB.I'm byuing a new card with 4 GB.How do i transfer the data from the old to the new card,in order to keep all the software i have installed on the storage card ? Can i simply copy the content to the new one via computer or card reader,or do i have to "clone" it,with some kind of backup software ?
A simple copy should do the trick just fine.
The only time there is a problem transferring something from one card to another is when you have a program that is locked on the cards serial number (like a nav program).
Although as far as I know such programs always come on their own SD so it is unlikely you installed anything like that.

I have 4GB Kingston mini-SD card which I uce with my Tornado! but today happened something and when I connect phone to PC ( with ActiveSync) I dont see anything on storage card but I see all the files on the phone! and one more thing-when I write something on the card(without formating) I dont see it on the phone! Sorry my bad English

no it doesn't SDHC it is only SD card with which I work few month

Maybe formatting the card will solve this problem.
Are there any programs to format the card without card-reader??( I have WM6.1 Pro not standart)
When I install WM6.0 Shadow/Neo I saw card from PC and work with it! But I wanted to flash a WM6.1 (not so) Plain Jane - 5.2.19202 (Build 19202.1.0.0) FINAL and I do so....now I cant see my card as earlier.....maybe in the 6.0 there are some drivers?
I have the DAXIAN T32+/X999+ and the proximity sensor was not working and was reading in the forums to do a restart, and now the phone does not see my 4gb sd card.... looking into the forum about the memory problem someone said something about getting a driver so the phone would see the 4gb sd card could someone Help me find that file thank.

there is a way to do that the phone can even read 32gb but you need to look for the microsd hc hack for windows mobile look at the forum for it.
its really esay i got mine whit 8gb.
here are the instruccions for the installation in case you need them:
SDHC Driver
1) Install SDHC.cab
2) Overwrite /Windows sdbus.dll y sdmemory.dll
3) Install Certs.cab
Soft reset.
I hope this is the right place ,i have searched and found nothing,i have a 16 GB micro card and i cant format it i have tried directly from my phone ,in a card reader ,with an adapter straight into another computers card reader,please help me , TIA Jacques
If you want to format it because it seems corrupted (and cant do it in any way as you told) then it is broken and you need to change it at service.
I had also my 16G microSD changed
is it a branded card?
exactly WHY cant you format it?... wanna give us some insight into what happens?
I couldn't format a card with a number of programs - In the end I tried 'Flash Format' by CNetX (google it) - it worked first time on the free evaluation version.

sorry i should of provided more info ,i have tried formatting the card using every option and program i can/have (going to try 'Flash Format' as was recommended.It seems that i either get an io error or when i try and remove some suspicious files/folders i cant because they have charachters in their names it is a panasonic 16 m card ,thanks for all the help , this is a great forum sam jack
