After upgrading to AKU3.3.13.ASERG, everything is perfect (fast, responsive, cool) except one thing, windows button assignment.
I can't assign it to other application such as Microsoft Voice command.
I would very much appreciate any help.
Maybe a bit out of topic, is there any way to uninstall Cyberon voice ?
I prefer Microsoft Voice command 1.6.
BTW my PDA is Dopod 818pro G4.
Thanks.

yes
same problem
maybe because of the WIZA200
I have yet to see a ROM post-WM5 aku 2.3 that can change the functions of those bottom 2 keys (Windows and OK button). You would think they could have figured this out by now.
I read before here that since it's based on the Wizard rom and the Wizard doesn't have that two buttons so it doesn't work.
Hmmm...Don't know why I didn't think of that. This should still be made to work, as those 2 buttons were customizable as well on the Wizard. I wonder what the file buttonsext does? I see that it is referred to only once in the registry. Perhaps if we got this file from a Prophet ROM and replace it with the one on these Wizard-based ROMs?
give this tool a try. still beta but i think it run stable.
is simlar to smartkey but . . .

it search omapclock in windows folder because i have it inside my modded aserg rom ;-)
with SetMaxMem you can save the memorystatus after a reboot for the freeram display in top
if you "speedup" a application altab set your neo to 240Mhz if this app is in foreground
else it set it to 180Mhz
this setting is stored in registry ;-)

Woah! This is fantastic! I think this will be the most useful program if it does what I think it can do. So, you can target specific apps to run at faster speeds? Also, what do the line graphs at the very top represent? I have blue, red, and grey.
And, ta-dah, the buttons 1 and 2 issue has been solved. We can now change the function of button 2 to close apps with a real task manager such as WA2.
Thanks for the great work, and the task switcher is very nice with the end call button.
Do have some sort of documentation or read me for this?
no sorry. no readme till now.
the to lines above. . . look here - > http://pocketgear.com/software_detail.asp?id=23466
in the middle its dark @180mhz and green @240mhz
So, is this altab.exe and compilation of smaller tools? Which tool is able to change the function of the buttons so succesfully?
This is the only one I've found to truly intercept the built-in functions before they execute.
the main function are the buttons/alt-tab and overclocking
the powerstatus display and the regtweaks are integrated small tools
/inteks
How do you overclock with this app, or do you need another app to do this?
Also, is it possible that you could make a version stripped of the status bars at the top? Or, at least give an option to not display it? Thanks....
for overclocking copy this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=255771&highlight=omapclock

Great job!
This is great! I used powerstatus, alt-tab and smartskey as my favourite tools (simple, very small memory usage). And i defnitely missed the possibility to assign buttons 1 and 2.
And now we have it all together.
I'll test an submit my experiences
Test results
I installed it (shortlink in windows\startup folder) and tested it a couple of days an it worked great (24kb ram, volume-button scrolling works better as in Smartskey). I have found 2 minor things:
1. Closing windows settings menu by doublepresssing the endCall button closes the shell, which results in softreset. Minor problem, ok-button works.
2. Left softbutton function is not catched by all programs. For instance, "Unlock" softbutton does not work. Minor problem, touchscreen does. Same with Total Commander.
Third is that my phone seems to crash more often than before, but I can't tell for sure it's your tool.
I have one question: The file is quite big (1,5 MB). What causes the size? Smartskey, Alt-tab and Powerstatus are very small, so the only thing left to explain te size is te capturing of buttons 1 and 2. If would be wellcome if it could be made smaller. Is that possible?
But even with this size it's great anyway.
Prophet G4
Aserg 3.3.13 rom
Radio 02.61.21
This app has fantastic functionality, but for whatever reason, it burdens my device running WA2. It's especially noticeable with the start menu appearing and other menus. Not too sure what the problem is, given that the app has such a small footprint.
hiho,
@2241Alexanders
jo, my mistake. . . i uploaded the debug version (size) the release version is 150Kb normaly, sorry.
i will upload a "release" version after i fixed the "closed shell" bug
what do you mean with "Unlock softbutton" ??
[edit] if you want the "hard" softkey to work you have to leave the "SoftKey L" in Setting on "<Left SoftKey>" . . .
i dont think that atTab causes the crashes ? no problems here
the programm does nothing until you press a button. (hook)
the powerstatus runs on an diffrent timer with 2sec interval (same as orginal powerstatus)
and every 5 sec the programm checks the foreground window and start omapclock if needed.
@floepie
what is "WA2" ??
btw with "task manager" (included in aserg's rom) you can check CPU usage of each program. alTab use 0.09-0.27% on my device @180MHz. most of this cpu time is used for powerstatus. without powerstatus its @0.00% most of time
(the "old" powerstatus.exe use 1.83-2.29% CPU time)

Wow! Very helpful utility! That's what I've been looking for since my Prophet ROM upgrade, as I really needed those two lost buttons!
Thank you very much, inteks!
But I have some suggestions.
Would it be possible to make the buttons used by the program customizable? Like the EndCall button, which now opens the task switcher - without alTab that button switches to the Today screen, and I'm really missing this feature.
Actually personally I would even disable the task switcher in alTab completely if it had such an option, as I don't really need another task manager - I prefer the way how AltTab.exe works: it shows a window with the icons, sets the focus to the previously used application, and if you just wait a second, it switches to it - very similar to how Alt-Tab key combo works in Windows. I really like that!
If the button, which opens the main alTab window (task manager) will be optional, and could be disabled, I guess the main window should show up just when the application starts. BTW, this will allow to easily assign the task switcher to any other button using the standard system Buttons control panel.
Additional actions, which can be assigned for the held soft buttons, is also a very useful feature! Is it possible to add such "Hold" commands for the hard buttons as well? "Button 4(Hold)" is standard, and assignable, but it would be nice to have the same for buttons 1-3 too.
Thanks!

new -> it shows icons for the windows in the list.

without atTab the "ok" button switch to desktop,too so the red button is useless but for end calls.
thats why i select this as main button for alTab.

Okey.
I got a Qtek S100 (or Magican, as you call it...).
I've been searching around för task managers that fits my needs, including this forum. I've tried the most popular, and some other, but haven't got jackpot yet.
All of the task managers I've tested works like this: Hit an icon with the pen (or finger...) and a menu pops up.
I want to press a hardware button, to make the menu open.
A long time ago I had such a program. I had it on both of my iPAQ models. A 3630, and a 3660.
On these models these program was attatched to the right buttons, se picture:

Any idéas of programs?
Is it not possible for you to remap the buttons, I mapped the camera button on my xda 2 to execute tomtom for instance.
dont waste time trying to map the send/cancel button.
there is no way to map.
i have tried all the whole list of Mapping button program from pocketgear.
none able to do it
probably you want to download a program that has 2 functions in each hardware button
for example.
1. calendar (press one)
1. pocket word (press and hold)
2. contacts (press one)
2. pocket excel (press and hold)
so on...
there u go, you can launch 8 applications
The problem is not to execute a program, that I can do well. The problem is TO OPEN A MENU.
For instance, press a hardware button and the start menu opens...
But, I want a task bar, that I can open it's menu by pressing a hardware button.
the start menu is just like a launcher
i have no idea how to map the start menu to a button
anyway, let calculate the step
using finger to press start menu (only 1 move)
using finger to press hardware button (only 1 move)
since no solution, we have to face it

do you mean iTask??
buzz
I found "magic button" to be a useful task switcher - but I don't know a way of using it with the hardware buttons. I also use buttonMax - you can create a macro that taps the start menu and assign the macro to a hardware button. I use "program menu" as my start menu which supports hiararchial menus so you can have access to a large amount of apps using a couple of button presses.
http://www.pocketmax.net/buttonMax.htm
I have already tested before this question is asked.
the only thing that cannot be done (that how i feel), is by configuring the 'send' button to map to a program (such as photos contacts 1.0d)
urh.. this photos contacts is not the built in program, it is an external program

Oh, please don't tease me with Treo's BATTERY METER!!! I want it on my Wizard! Does anyone know about something in that style? (please, don't tell me "use AKU2's default", guys...).
BTW.... question to Mr Vijay. I saw a pretty nice one on the screenshots on your website - (let me check...) - at VJCandela and VJBigPhone screenshots. What is that battery meter?
TIA, Alex
aperley: my battery meter screenshots are probably from the excellent SmallMenu Plus.
I posted the treo's battery meter years ago.
Here you go, with a screenshot showing it working fine on my Hermes.
http://www.vijay555.com/vj/!tools/treobatterymeter/treobatteryindicator.zip
V
Hi ViJay,
that seems to be the same thing posted long time ago in one of the Treo ripping threads. I've tried it that time, and it didn't work on my Wizard. The issues are following:
- it COMPLETELY overrides the volume control - not just the icon, but the slider as well. Moving the volume slider up or down causes the battery status notif to pop up. So, no way to control the volume anymore.
- it only shows battery charge at the moment of launch, and it doesn't change. I've launched it at 95%, now I have 90%, but the thing is still showing me 95%.
- after pluging the charger in, it changes the icon to "charging", but never changes it back.
Maybe I did something wrong? I've just unpacked the archive in a folder and launched the .exe.
And - question. What are those .bmp's for? Definitely not for Treo battery meter - they rather look like GS Battery meter (which doesn't work on WM5). And - I'm gonna try Small Menu
Thanks!
I don't know what the stuff is for, I just ripped out everything that said battery. As you said, it's not worth using, as it covers the volume icon. The one in the TyTN threads is much better anyway!
V
the 700w has the same feature and u can find an actually dump.bin that contains everything and registry which is available here. Just lettting yall know. maybe this helps.
That's where it came from. We dumped the Treo some time back... but thanks anyway!
Is anyone interested in this battery thing? I don't think it works properly on our phones, and there are better alternatives.
V
I've tried SmallMenu... That's exactly what I was loking for! Great thanks! I didn't really like the menu feature itself, but the battery meter is cool! Actually, I prefer the Treo battery icon style, so I made my own icon set - based on Treo screenshots. Hopefully, they are not copyrighted 8) First icon is not done - can't figure out what is it for. Check this out:
P.S. just Photoshopped it real quick... The lightning symbols on charging icons are messed up - will fix that later.

except for the threaded sms, that's new to the 750
There are a few goodies that the 750v has over the 700. One being the much desired threaded sms app, and also the much improved bluetooth stack that supports a2dp and voice dialing.
Here....
If anybody interested - Treo-like skin for SmallMenu Plus Battery icon. Icons modified to fit the limited space on the taskbar.
Just wondering if anyone had figured out a way to add that to an HTC device ? Not sure it's a standard plugin though as it gets activated/deactivated in the menu/preferences/Hide Lookup Field

I managed to get this to work on Faria's latest AKU 3.2 ROM which I installed today. I was playing with the registry and simply copied a key and changed a dll mapping, soft reset and presto!
The key that was copied was from the WebSearchPlugin found in this forum:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Today\Items\"Web Search"]
"Order"=dword:0000002A
"Flags"=dword:00000000
"Enabled"=dword:00000001
"Options"=dword:00000000
"Selectability"=dword:00000002
"Type"=dword:00000004
"DLL"="\\Windows\\WebSearchPlugin.dll"
I recreated the key changing the following lines only:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Today\Items\"Dial Lookup"]
"DLL"="\\Windows\\DialLookupPlugin.dll"
Attached are a screenshot and a zip zrchive containing the registry settings that can be imported using your favorite registry editor.
NOTE: 1) that you must use your sliding keyboard..duh. and 2) the icons above and to the right of the input box.
Forgot to mention that this was done on my Wizard.
That's quite a big step!
Just imported the plugin on the Faria RC1 ROM. After the import I soft reset my device. First time I recieved an Shell error, by pressing "Ok", my Wizard restarted. Now it works fine
The wireless plugin showing the BT and Wireless doensn't work: "Error opening the shortcut or locating the target filename".
I think the plugin is quite useless for Wizard users. Now you have to slide open your keyboard to search and dial a contact. When dialing you have to close the device again.
Like the Wireless part though
[edit]
Recieved the same message for the second time: "An unhandled error has occured in the shell. Attempting to restart the shell.".
Will restore a backup and let this plugin be for the moment
[/edit]
can you repost the dial lookup file? it seems to be corrupted
yeah can someone post the DialLookupPlugin.dll file
In the following thread you will find the zip archive containing both the dll and reg entry. Be sure to read the thread:

How can i (if it's possible) change the function of the buton on my bt handsfree i want to make it start the camera not dial/hangup is that possible ?
Thanks !
That would be useful. Have the phone set up somewhere, and use your headset as a remote to take pictures. Far better than using a timer, and running to be in the photo.
you can change it to run a different app if you want or make a mort script to run what ever you want.

Thanks for this info. I have managed to make it so I can run the camera.exe by pressing the handsfree button. Unfortunately taking a picture is proving slightly more difficult. I thought setting the reg string to run a mortscript saying simply SendCR would press the carriage return upon pressing the handsfree button, and take a photo, but this doesnt seem to work.
Can anyone point out where I'm going wrong, or point out another way of taking the photo. Is it possible to point HKLM\Software\OEM\VoiceCommand\path to button 4 (this is camera button on my hermes) as the function of button 4 changes when in the camera app from 'run set app' to 'take photo'? I dont know if you can set a shortcut to simulate a hardware button

This is exactly what I had in mind once I'm sure I can get it to work. After a bit of playing around, I have discovered that you can only set the reg key to run a program, not a shortcut or a mortscript.
I checked out VJKeyPress, but it works by following a command line in a shortcut to select the button it emulates. I need a program which purely operates the shutter, and has no other function.
If I cant solve this in the next few days then I may PM Vijay555 and see if he can help.
Success!!
Turns out the amazing vijay555 has another app which does the job called VJBrisk.
By setting the reg key to run VJBrisk.exe, this automatically launches VJTarget.lnk in the same folder. This is a link to VJKeyPress.exe with the command 13, which is RETURN, and which operates the shutter. I have just taken a photo by pressing the button remotely on my bluetooth headset.
Next step is a mortscript which will automatically change the reg key, turn on bluetooth, and run the camera application. And then change the reg key back and turn bluetooth off when the camera app is closed.
Amazing , now if you can explain Step by step how we can do this will be really amazing can you do that for all of us who are searching for solution ?
Can you do this ?
I haven't had time to look at making a mortscript yet. To simply take photos using the headset, I have used VJBrisk and VJKeyPress, both freeware from vijay555's site. I have also used Resco Explorer to edit the registry and create shortcuts, but you can use freeware alternatives.
Download and install both the VJ apps, and then create a shortcut to VJKeypress. In Resco this can be done by selecting the target and pressing copy, then navigating to the folder it is wanted in, and pressing 'paste shortcut'. Place this shortcut in the VJBrisk folder, and edit its command line to read:
"\Program Files\vijay555\VJKeyPress\VJKeyPress.exe" 13
Rename the shortcut to VJTarget.lnk
Now edit the reg string HKLM\Software\OEM\VoiceCommand\path to point to \Program Files\vijay555\VJBrisk\VJBrisk.exe
Now when connected to your headset, the button operates as the RETURN key, and hence will take a photo when the camera app is active. You may want to check the shutter sound is on, and the review time is set to 'no review'.

I'm afraid I'm no expert here.
What is the contents of 'HKLM\Software\OEM\VoiceCommand'?
I now have a string '(Default)' with no value set, a string 'path' pointing to VJBrisk, and DWORD's of 'LaunchAPEnable', 'VoiceCmdDuration' and 'VoiceCmdEnable' all set to 1.
I hope this helps you, or that someone more knowledgable than me can jump in and give you some advice.

Dear Developers
I have a request for a nice peace of software. I guess a lot of Diamond2 user will love it.
Now that we can scroll through the file explorer and so on (with zoombar) it would be great to have a "button" to click on the selection.
As there was an app for the diamond1 that made the Multi-Touch-Buttons customizable (hold, click, tap, double tap)
I thought it would be possible to use the zoombar as different buttons:
Button 1: Tap the zoombar on the left (magnifier(-) to 3rd line)
Button 2: Tap the zoombar in the middle (between 3rd and 7th line)
Button 3: Tap the zoombar on the right (7th line to magnifier(+))
The three buttons should be customizable in their action.
Btw. the zoombar and the buttons should work at the same time.
(There is an TouchHD mod that enables their "new zoombar" OR the touch-buttons)
Original post
Would be great if someone could help me (and all other Diamond2 user)
Regards Mar'Cel
That's great idea. That would be really good to have it work as buttons
Intresting idea..
As and when I get a Diamond2 (I should hopefully get one when T-Mobile UK get them) I'll try this, unless someone else gets there first...
Great idea, I was thinking the same thing. I'd definitely need to have something like this available before I would purchase the phone (this one or the touch pro 2) . I could not imagine always using the touch screen for so many things and not having a d-pad, I use it all the time on my FUZE.
I would take this app idea even one step further: make the 'zones' completely customizable as well, so you could create as many as you like, by specifying coordinates for something. (i.e., if the scroll bar has 100 "units", you could say "0-20 is button 1, 21-40 is button 2", etc) So, in my case, I'd try to see if it would work to have 5 "zones":
left, up, select, down, right
something like that. Might be tight to squeeze 5 buttons in there (3 is probably more realistic) but it might work, and with that layout you'd have a full d-pad ! It's gotta be possible, let's make this happen !!!! The little guidelines in the zoom area might actually make this even better and easier to implement, since there's a nice visual aid to let you know where to touch to get the button you want. Might be even better than the current diamond/touch pro d-pad !!

A possibility too. But I think a developer decides what makes more sense or what is better to implement And you know that the zoombar can be used to scroll through most lists/apps(with a little mod) and so on, right? And you have arrow keys on the keyboard.

Can you run the attached exe (copy it to your phone and run it there), and tell me what the "where:" value is, and whether "keyup" works?
Or, can you take a few screenshots of it when you click in different places on the zoom bar?
BTW, the exe is taken directly from the sensor reverse engineering by Scott Seligman, but if it works I can play around a bit and convert it to topaz...
EDIT: if it doesn't work, can you tell me what the error is?
Maybe I have to install anything before to make it run properly?
I get an Error "Unable to load HTC API DLL".
When I press OK I can see the orientation of my phone -> the tilt
and a little ring is sliding around when I tilt my device..
A second start of the app is possible after restart
I will download the HTC API.dll and try it again... but shouldn't the HTCapi.dll be there on my ROM already?
[edit] I found a HTCapi.dll from the Touch HD... can I use it or should I take another?

htcapi.dll is what provides data from the capacitive panel on the Diamond and Raphael. I'll need to look at a Topaz ROM and see what it's using instead. I think it might be using biotouch.exe/biotouch.dll since that's what the zoom bar for Blackstone is using... I'll look at it tomorrow.
I took the htcapi.dll from the HD and now your .exe runs without error.
But I still just see the ring sliding around and three "tachometer" showing my tilt direction.
Maybe you find out tomorrow (today^^) I'll have a look later

That means that HTC have changed the drivers for the zoom bar from what they had for the Blackstone/Diamond etc... I think they've now decided that the zoom bar is part of TouchFlo (the finger scrolling part, not the manila part). Time for some disassembly!
If you tell me how to find that out I could help you.. otherwise that doesn't tell me enough to help you without any hint
Any improvement yet?
Bump... Bump...
ok i'm a noob
can anyone guide me step by step, how to make zoom bar as a scroll bar
I found out here :http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=512614
but it doesnt let the zoom bar to work 100% as a scroll bar
thx and sry for the noob question
wrong thread. go to topaz and see..use Advanced Config. an app that can also do what you ask for.
Common Dudes... no one can make our wishes come true?
i think they are using Smarttouch for scrolling the zoombar.. but I may be wrong, the reg entries suggest its that at least..
Code:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Services\SmartTouch]
"Prefix"="SMT"
"Dll"="smarttouch.dll"
"Index"=dword:1
"Order"=dword:9
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\SmartTouch]
"WheelCount"=dword:00000002

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\SmartTouch\Excel Mobile]

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\SmartTouch\Notes]

"ZoomAnimationTimeout"=dword:00000BB8
"Zoom In Shortcut"=dword:000000CA
"Zoom Out Shortcut"=dword:000000CB
included the latest version for decompiling..
I've not seen a topaz, never mind played with it though, so this may all be wrong
zoom as screen on manilla, this is what i want
bump. With the lack of buttons, I think the original idea would be great. Perhaps write a small little app to dedicate buttons to the spaces (ie 1-20 = button 1, etc). If it was assignable, you could have as many or as few buttons as you wanted.
Think of the possiblities....
Hello guys,
Does anybody know a simple registry tweak to remove this boring Title Bar List in the new WM 6.5.3 upper taskbar?
Thank you

Dear Friends,
Same here. Hope someone finds a registry trick for that... Lets wait...
Best Reagrds...
Same "problem" here. If you install wisbar advance some buttons work, but others will show up this stupid menu
Use Taskbar Launcher to redefine what will be launched by tapping the taskbar. (You can define it for 3 regions: left, center and right) I suggest you set the left and right regions to 0 (nothing will be launched) and the center to launch the notificationmanager
I'm not with a wm6.5.x rom for now, but i think it has something to do with magnifier no ?
Try this : [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\GWE\MAGNIFIER]
"Enable"=dword:0
Or maybe in Bsbtweaks : HTC Magnifier line
i hate the "TitleBarList" but i did not found anything under registry to remove it ...so, i'm back to wm6.5

not the only.. the other reason i wrote it under "position fix wm 6.5.x" :
i have trouble with wm6.5.x when installing programs... i tried to install pocket player 5.3.5.. when finished the installation, have to press OK button in the right angle, on top, but is not visible (hidden under the small clock) and can not touch it, as there is the titlebarlist from wm6.5.x (an other thing that i hate) .. or other programs have a button to the right corner, to the bottom, hidden by the large bottom bar.. it is any solution to automaticaly resize the windows of the programs to the size of wm6.5.x ?
Yes the ok button on the top right corner does not work anymore with 6.5.3. I reallydoubt that removing the titlebar will fix the OK button problem.
Here is a very simple fix: you will find that with this kind of app, the physical "back arrow" button of you HD2 does the trick...
that one was just an example of one software that i remember the position of the buttons from previous installation... but when i install new programs, always the trick with back arrow does the trick, even if the button is, for example, at the bottom ?
From what I know, there are two different way to close apps depending on how it has been coded.
The first type is the "cross button" that is top right on 6.5. For this type of the cross is on bottom right of the screen with 6.5.x.
The second type is the "ok button" that used to be on top right of the screen. These apps are generally old ones with WM6 menu style. For some reason (I guess MFC calls have been modified on 6.5.x) the ok button does not appear anymore and the cross button does not appear. For these apps, pressing the physical "back arrow" button works.
I do not know any application with a close button at the bottom. If this is the case, it is a non-standard MFC call and the button should be there even with 6.5.x. Post a picture if you have one to understand the issue you have.
sorry, but i don't have anymore wm6.5.x.. i'm back to wm6.5 (dutty 2.3).. i am still waiting an solution to get back the top right OK and to remove the top titlebar(for this one i understood that was told by appelfap)
any mod to remove the top right clock? maybe in this way the OK became visible?
yes, this Titlebarlist is really annoying. A better work-around as using this taskbar launcher (which looks 2 ugly for me - sorry!) is Arkswitch
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=618300
and the Dust skin
Then go to Menu -> Activation Field and boost the field from top left to right until the beginning of the clock... et voilà: no Titlebar if you tap on the Taskbar.
Also advantage with this solution: You can use a skinned alterantive Taskbar like this from MysticGenius...
Perhaps someone knows how to cook-out these Titlebar from the WM6.5.3 SYS???
