Is there a tool to do this? I didn't see anything in the Wiki about this. Or is this just a matter of loading a new bootloader?
there's so much thread about this. anyway here you go. use this tool.

hello all,
i believe i've just dug myself a grave. i've argeed to try repair my girlfriends' dad's wizard.
i am at work right now i have had a sms telling me that he "tried" to upgrade his wizard and now it is stuck in the tricolor boot section.
as i dont have a wizard and only a hermes. i would really appriciate it, if you bros, could tell me what i need to do to repair it.
did he forget to "super CID"?
again, i'd really appriciate it if you guys could point me to the right direction to repair this asap for him.
cheers guys, really appriciate it.

Get the latest official ROM (check the Wiki for the list), flash it. Use ShellTool to flash any WM6 ROM (CID unlock not required).
cheers for the fast reply hanmin.
from what i gather in your reply, do i basically download any rom (E.g. XDA's Mobile) and flash it using ShellTool and all should be good?
by the way, where is ShellTool? i searched but could not find a thread on ShellTool.
thanks in advance for any help guys.
Jason
Shelltool does not work via BootLoader, but from within Windows Mobile. Download the Appropiate Brand-ROM (T-Mobile/QTEK/Imate) and then upgrade.
thanks for your reply eelco_akker
he has a O2 Mini S, so i download O2 WWE from
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Wizard_Upgrades
and extract it, plug in the mini s and run the upgrade right.
after it should look box fresh and i can then read the WM6 guides to get to WM6 right?
thanks for the help guys, really appriciate it. stay single.

alright so Super CID
then what i said in the previous post right?
thanks for the ino swingheim
The best advice is to follow this guide as it will step you through the process by pointing you to various roms and threads:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=298613
The key thing with a Wizard device is knowing if you have a G3 or G4. G3's are pretty forgiving, but a G4 can be bricked if you try to flash a rom with IPL/SPL that is not from the official rom for that particular phone. If you have the true official rom for that phone, then yes, just flash it and then you should have a working device again, then can follow the steps to CID Unlock it.
Oh, and last word of info... G4's cannot be CID unlocked with tools around here. You have to pay to have it CID Unlocked from IMEI Check. Or (as stated above) you can flash a different rom with Shell Tools (look in the G4 subforum of the Wizard area for info and usage on ShellTool).
Good luck! Hopefully you'll be a hero
HELLO,
I have read many forums on how to unlock the CID, but I am confused. I have read that it has not been done with the Universal, then I read a sticky that has the RUU and says it "bypasses" the CID. Well the biggets problem is that there are no instruccions on it.
Could someone please help me?
Is this why I enter where people offer roms, and have one for each variant? no CID unbloking required?
Please help! I want to start flashing, but I want to be sure of what I am doing.
One more thing, what is the RUU?
Thanks!
Read the WIKI
Eelco
the sim-unlocker by Buzz_Lightyear also unlocks you're CID
Olipro made an RUU that doesnt check CID
For these two reasons you dont need to make rom's for each brand of universal, however i know of at least one cook who does.
Download the CID unlocking tools from the FTP site http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=BA_FTP_Site

Hello! Please, may you tell me where I can download it?
Thanks!
EDIT:
Is it this ftp://xda:[email protected]/Universal/Tools_and_Programs/HTC_Uni_SIM_Unlock_v1.rar ?
Thanks!
Well I did read wiki, but there is nothing clear on it. I will keep studying them.
My SIM is unlocked anyways, does that automaticaly give me the go?
Nope, SIM and CID unlocking are completely different. A SIM Lock makes sure you cant use different vendor's SIMs on your cell phone. The CID Lock makes sure that you cant use different OS on your PDA. Like, if you've got a T-Mobile OS installed that is CID Locked, trying to install O2's WM6 will mess up your PDA!
Hi Guys!
I just read the wiki article about the ROM Upgrade. Under 4. it says:
Before proceeding, you need to make sure that you unlock your PDA COMPLETELY. This includes removing CID/EROM locks etc. The unlocker and more tools can be found here or here
So what do I need to unlock for upgrading? There seems to be several locks to break.
The FTP-Links took me to a directory full of files. I wasn't able to find the right file which will do the unlocking work.
Can anyone help me out with that? Is there a universal unlocker or do I need to download more than one file?

Welcome
I´m sure you did not really READ the Wiki, look here: http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Uni_Simlock_by_Buzz_and_team
Good luck
Well, in fact I already read that. My device isn't branded so I don't have a SIM lock.
So I need to do the SIM unlock and the CID/EROM unlock only? Is that right?
What program do I have to use for the CID/EROM unlock? There is no description for the files in the ftp directory: ftp://ftp.xda-developers.com/Universal/Tools_and_Programs
I don't want to use the wrong program and ending up wrecking my device.
Thx, EvilK
Normally you don't need to SIM-unlock for upgrading, but a CID Unlock could be possible. You should read upgrade page for your device in the wiki.
@orb3000: The article is about doing the SIM unlock. But how do I do the CID and EROM unlock?
On the WIKI page it is said that I need to do that, but it is not exactly said how. http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Uni_ROM_Upgrade
I found this Page here: http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Wizard%20Windows%20Mobile%206%20for%20newbies
But this is for the HTC Wizard only.
Hi
Have a look at this..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=301662 according to it, you dont need CID unlocked if you use right RUU version to flash a ROM
Also search through 'Universal upgradeing etc forum.. you might get some solution..
Regards
I hate to create a new thread about this... but I read over the wiki a couple of times and I still wasn't clear about this.
I am getting an AT&T Fuze soon and I plan to flash it with the latest ROMeOS.
What steps do I need to take before I can do this? Do I just need to get Hard-SPL? Or do I need to do a SIM unlock also?
Also... does installing Hard-SPL CID unlock the phone?
Thanks in advance.
Oh by the way this forum is great! I really appreciate all the hard work you guys do to make these cooked ROMs and other tools. Cheers.
All of the questions you've asked have already been extensively covered, so this thread will most likely/hopefully be closed and deleted by the mods. But in a nutshell, to flash to a cooked ROM, you need to: 1) Flash Hard-SPL (prevents you from bricking your phone while flashing); 2) CID unlock your phone (this allows you to flash to any ROM; installing Hard-SPL doesn't CID unlock your phone). If you're just trying to change your ROM and not use the Fuze with a non-AT&T carrier, you don't need to SIM unlock.
Please take time to read the stickies, if you haven't already.
Dramacydle actually you are wrong.
You need just to flash HardSPL before flashing any TP-compatible ROM.
HardSPL and instructions:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=410150
HardSPL will not SIM-unlock your device
Yes the questions in this thread have been covered MANY times however if somebody is going to make a statement please make sure your facts are accurate
Questions answered.
Regards.
Sorry about that. I based my CID unlocking comment off of this link in the wiki:

Hi guys!
I hope it's not a problem I opened a new thread but I haven't really found a fully answered topic to my question. (I might be blind, anyway...)
So I own a Vodafone UK Branded HTC Sensation. I am thinking to root the device. I do not want to use any custom rom, I'm happy with the official one (at the moment...) and I would only like to have "ROOT Access". So, am I right that I do not need to "S-OFF"?
In this case as I understand:
1.) I have to unlock bootloader (HTCdev)
2.) Follow this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1632553 to root the device
Is that right?
After the root had been done, will I be able to remove all the applications, boot image... pre-installed by Vodafone? (Kind of "de-brand" the device) Or will I be able to install a "EU RUU" or only the "Vodafone RUU". I'm really sorry if I'm totally wrong but I have been reading the threads for couple of weeks now and I already got absolutely confused... I appreciate any help, explanation. Thank you very much in advance!

Hi,
From having a quick look at the guide in the link you don't even need to unlock the bootloader via HTCdev. Just follow the guide. I personally unlocked my bootloader and S-off'd via revolutionary.io who did a great job of beating HTCdev to the punch within months of the sensation coming out.
Here's a "Super noob guide to unlocking bootloader and s-off" which may ease your confusion. Although for the HTC Rezound , the concept for all HTC Bootloaders is the same, Just don't follow that guide verbatim otherwise bad things may happen.
You should be able to de-bloat ( probably the search term you want to use ) your rom after root. There's also a guide for carrier unlocking knocking around somewhere which I also did, Unlocking it from 3UK grips
Good Luck
You could have probably asked your questions in the guide thread but meh, no one died and I don't think anyone's losing sleep over this post at least you've spent some time trying to figure it out on your own before calling for help

Thank you very much for your reply! My Hboot version is 1.27. As far as I know I am unable to use the "revolutionary" method to S-OFF and unlock the bootloader. Anyway I will go for the htcdev one once I'm back from work! Thank you for your help again!

Hi,
Please check my signature (☺ A great starting point for all new Sensation owners ☺) for a good list of guides to s-off.
I would suggest ganesh or kgs methods.
You will also need to install a custom recovery.
Check out joaquinf's guide to installing 4EXT.
