I read that there were several things removed from the Faria Crossbow ROM and I think I want to add at least one of them back in. You see, I'm a bit of a music junkie and subscribed the the $14.95/mo. URGE To Go service. In all previous ROMs I've tried, the music from this service syncs fine. In this one it tells me the device cannot sync subscription content. What files do I need to add back to this ROM to get DRM back in there? Is that all I would need to add back to get subscription music sync working?

Its possible that the content block is turned on somehow. gotta figure that one out in the registry.
Same problem i think faria remove the DRM and we need to put it back to use the music that has DRM Help anyone?
So far that makes three of us...
I wonder how many have to whine before we are told what was removed and how to restore it?
bump -- this should be easy!
bump -- anyone know any more about this?
Confirmed DRM is not in Faria's ROM
Ok, I had excactly the same issue, cant play any URGE music either subscription or purchased. So after literally YELLING at the morons at URGE who insist that because the Wizard isnt on the "plays for sure" list is wont work. I finally got a senior guy and we tracked the problem down to missing DRM files.
So, I add my request.. how do we put this back?
Missing wmdrm.dll file maybe?

I have just compared the contents of Faria's WM6 ROM and the MB version and there is a file called 'wmdrm.dll' that is missing from Faria's. I can't find any references to it in the registry so it might work if you just restore that file
I can't test it as I haven't got any protected music.
Remove the .ZIP extension and copy the file to the \Windows directory and see if it works?
Andy
lets see what happens....

I copied the .dll file from your zip and placed it in the /windows folder on the Wizard. Restarted and got the same error: A DRM error has occured.
Thanks for the help Andy, any more ideas?

LOL, wait till a rom is released with it. kinda hard to tell what files are required by it. Mine should be out soon. and i didnt remove anything related to drm. lol
Oh, man I'm waiting with baited breath. Do you know what that smells like under the nose? Please release to release me! I'll beta test, I'll stand on my head, I'll tell you funny stories until you fall asleep at night. Just make sure it's as good as Faria's and with the DRM stuff...
drm was removed from my rom because it was causing problems and also some support files were missing for drm....im looking a the issue .
,at the time i thought it was fine...but obviously is not for fellows with drm muisic....im trying to rectify the problem in my next release.

DRM needed
Hi Faria, please let us know when Windows Media with DRM will work correctly. I am a music junkie and now none of my music will play with the new rom.
it works in Faria's last ROM
Faria included the DRM module in the ROM Kitchen. So, if you select that package during the build process your music will play.
Thanks Faria for that inclusion.

Really, I always wanted to get productive instead of flashing my halley berry(my black universal) after every 1h or so. I was spending more time flashing and setting it up.
This ROM is actually for those people who want all the important utilities as a part of OS itself.
Some highlights of this ROM..
*no crap in "my documents": this includes all the useless pics, nonsense sounds Actually, before this ROM, whatever ROM I used to use, this was the first thing I used to do that is, delete all this crap. yay, this means no "dog bark" sound !!
*It should be clean and usable for business purposes: Clearly, we have invested so much(put more stress on "so much!") on our device. That is why, no crap
*Vista skin for WMP mobile:thanks to Xcillion. This really makes me say, WOW! Infact, this is now the default skin of the ROM. see the second screenshot
*TCPMP: yeah! It is a part of ROM now. So, you save ~1.5MB(yay!)
*no bubble-breaker
*Adobe reader pre-hacked to VGA mode.
See the difference in the first screenshot given below
*Playlist editor inbuilt to the ROM:find it in the "utilities" folder. Now, you can make/edit playlists on the go
*USB HDD:find it in the "utilities" folder
*Pocket RAR:
*no "one note mobile":see the third screenshot. This is no more(anyone used it anyway?)
*soft keys mapped to contacts and adobe reader. The left soft-key says "my contacts" and the right soft-key says "my PDFs". Sounds windows..isn't?
*some really nice and beautiful themes are built into the ROM. I m sure, everybody would like them. See the 4th, 5th and 6th screenshots.
*on the other hand, the ugly looking themes which used to be built into the ROM are gone now. Yeah no guavas and no green theme
*the default ringtone just got changed! The ringtone is soothing now. I extracted it when I had a chance to beta-test the "atom exec"(~1y ago from now). Its lovely. I m sure, all of you will like it. And don't worry, the default WM6 is still there. Just by some other name
*no htc plugin
*no pim backup:accept it! all of us have better backup tools(somebody said, spb backup?)
Just a little request after hard-reset: you gotta manually go to the file explorer>>windows>>start menu>>programs and delete the backup folder from there.
I m somehow unable to delete it
If someone can mirror it, it would be benificial for the community

This ROM is based in Midgets, so it doesn´t have videocall.
I personally like the "Clean ROM" idea, having a customized extended ROM or my favorite apps cabs to install afterwards.
Beauty is a very discussible concept: p
seems like a nice release.
but why did you change the phone skin? the delete button still has its pink mask around it =\
and of course it would be unchangeable because its in the rom, so the images are read only.

Odd isn't. This pink portion should actually be inivisible. Actually, in photoshop, the pink(to be exact, magenta) is depicted by 255,0,255. This is not seen in WM5 ROMs. Mysteriously, this is still seen in WM6 ROMs
I ll try to come out with a path or something to overcome this. IMHO, it still looks way sexy than the O2 skin or tmobile skin, does not it?

i wanted to know....
there were some issues of Bluetooth handsfree usage with midget's roms. after a while... they do not acknowledge the commands given to the phone from the bluetooth handsfee unit. e.g. last dialed number, voice dial, hang up. etc.
is this all fixed?
Otherwise... the base rom is almost flawless.

Appreciate your concern...
i'm on your rom at the moment. have been testing since released. the problem still persists.
you are right... it does work for a while but after that... it starts.
i'm using Motorola H350 Hands free. its command button (you know the one on the ear piece) is dead and not working now. but the status of being connected is still appearing on universal. To get it work, one has to re-pair it.
while in this button un-responsive status; if a call is dialed from the phone, its voice & mic are flawlessly routed to the bluetooth handsfree but the call cannot be put on hang up/mute/hold or any function that the button supports.
this does not happen in other ROMs like Jwrightmcp's, helmis, pdaviet, darkforce or default WM5.
Only Lt. Cmd Ivan's ELF ROM and Midgets all builds have this bug.
i think there is some problem with this Windows Mobile 6 Professions CE OS 5.2.1413 (Build 17913.0.3.0)
i might be wrong but all tests have been done and problem is detected.
my request is if we could get this bug fixed. the ROM would be a Mega Hit.
Its speed is great (seems like the device is overclocked)
stability is good.
more device memory
garbage date removed (dog bark, bubble breaker etc)\
* battery drains quicker but is affordable
looking forward...

Now, thats odd. My BT handsfree works fine. Are you sure that the problem is not with the handsfree?
I love the idea of a clean ROM with only the truly ubiquitous apps in it - the only problem is that nobody agrees on what those apps are.
I think I agree with pretty much everything you've chosen apart from the Adobe Reader over Pocket XPDF. However, I like your stance of functionality for business - I need my Exec to give me the functionality I require whilst approaching the reliability of a proper phone - recently, it's been a great PDA, and a shockingly bad phone. Hopefully, the latest release of ROMs will improve matters.
Cheers,
Steve.

Unhappy O2 Customer
Myself and my partner also recently updated our roms on our O2 Xda stellar, The flash went well for both of us, it was the after effect of realising there is no sliding home screen with the O2 release of this rom.
Im going through every file on our phones trying to see if its just hidden?
but so far nothing has turned up.
If anyone has managed to find a way to enable the sliding home screen please will you get in contact with me and post it here for everyone please.
Thank you
Simon Tasker
Hello there
I understand that the sliding panel home screen is available on non-touch smartphonedevices, although you may read it as a realse component of WM6.1. Bad wording I guess as it is a little confusing.
Regards.
Thanks
Thank you for the fast reply,
I feel slightly cheated by this but hey thats the way it goes. it would be quiet difficult for it to work with the size of the screen on the stellar but it would still of being a nice addition.
Thank you again for the response.
Simon Tasker
Well, to be honest I replied to this as I too was wondering where this feature was.
But hey, look at it this way, you have not lost any features!
In fact, since I got my XDA Stellar in nov 07 I have been using SPB Pocket Plus which offers more flexibility than what I believe Slidin home offers. Check out the Tabs on which you can add any file, program or even a whole plugin as I have the HTC Home plugin.
I've not seen first hand what Sliding Panel is like but Im very satisfied with this set up on mine and maybe this is helpful for you in achieving the same flexibility of customisation and personal taste. All of what you see is just from Pocket plus being ticked in the today screen items collection list.
Ok stupid question as there doesn't seem to be a manual for this on the XDA site.
When installing this, does it over-write any files? ie am I going to have to re-install and re-configure all my software? I just want to know before I do this while away from a net connection.

I used SPB Backup which worked well in the end. I made a few mistakes during the restore process that made it much more of a time consuming headache than it should have been but I think I got back to where I want to be. Ringtone assignments and contact picture assignments were not restored but that may have been my error rather than the fault of the software.

The new ROM. On the O2 site it implies it won't nuke your stuff. Sure it says...
In order to ensure that important files and data do not go missing from your Xda during the software download process, please save them to your PC first before you begin. You'll then be able to reload them onto your device after the software download process is complete.

Guys,
I need your help. My HTC Touch HD cannot initiate the TouchFlo (3D), and I cannot view it the way it should be at all. I don't know what happened but it just doe sthe following when you restart it:
It will go to the TouchFlo (3D) Page and the message saying "Tap Here to Launch TouchFlo (3D)
I tap and it keeps saying Launching TouchFlo (3D) but it never does that
I can access the mobile from the Start Menu but I want my Touch HD Back to the way it was before.
Anybody has any suggestions please post them or email me at: [email protected]
thank you guys

Save PIM data (ex with PimBackUp or similar) then make an HardReset: HD off, Hold VolUp+VolDown then one click on PowerOn Botton.
D'rath
PS: The process erases all your data but solve the SW problems
Wait, hard reset is the last solution!
Have you installed an application or any graphics drivers? New rom?
If so then you could try to uninstall it and see if the problem is solved!
Sometimes I had this when installing bad drivers.
You could try to install these drivers. (at least before doing a hard reset)
helio is correct,
HR is the last resort (although it will of course fix the problem) as you wont understand what has caused the underlying problem, you will then install the same software/apps and end up with the same issue.
Look at what you have have installed recently, or changed manila files. An incorrect change if playing with a manila file will cause touchflo not to start.
Thanks Guys for your Comments and Recommendations, I really appreciate that,
I need to know how to Backup the PIM Data. I found a file with pim next to it and I already saved it on the Storage Card. Is there any other PIM File(s)? I also listened to you onnot doing the Hard Reset, and removed every software I have doubt about or had installed recently. But the problem still presists, TouchFlo (3D) Cannot launch. Help and thanks again.
Use this app, zip below, to back up your data (emails, contacts etc). The app is simple to use. Word of warning if you use Exchange to sync email and contacts, be CAREFUL....restoring your contacts and then syncing will duplicate all your contact entries (i know because i did it and ended up with 2000 contacts!!!)
You dont say what you had installed, just that you had removed them. Purely unistalling may not fix the issue if a registry change has not reversed.
Have you been playing with any manila files, or deleting anything you shouldnt be? Have you been playing with the registry?
If you really cant analize what you have done and without much more info, you have to decide if the HR is the only available option to you (ie you want the quick fix).
Dear Timmymarsh,
thank you for all you've done for me, I really appreciate that. I am sorry I did not mention what I did. What I have done is try a new ROM, I think it Was WWE but which one I don't remember. I downloaded a bunch of files from this site, thinking they would work without testing them first. But they did not turn out to be what I was looking for. I downloaded the Choco Clock, Sygic GPS, and others from the Manila....and other developers but when I unzipped and installed them they did not work for some reason. So I just deleted them, the thing is I know I should have uninstalled them first. But for some reason I just can't even find the files created by these add-ons or applications. No, I did not touch the registry at all. I am not a Software Man, obviously you guys are amazing in this stuff, I am more into infrastructure if you have any uestions about Wireless Network or Physical Security let me know. I am trying to learn more about this Mobile and want to be able to utilize it to the fullest. Thank you again. For this time I think I am going with the HR so I can erase everything that I downloaded and did not setup Properly, then I am going to install only trusted add-ons and softwares. thanks.
No probs my friend, its what we are here for yes
As for what you have done, its always best to uninstall first, just deleting causing reg problems hence the issues you are now facing. I would say on this occasion HR is your best bet. Best bit of advise i can give you is, install one app/software, test and if there are no compatability issues then add another, if there is then at least you know to safely remove by unistalling that app.
Have fun, the HD is a brilliant bit of kit and can be expanded/modded vastly

Can anyone tell me where to get the Mobile Banking application that is default in ATT's ROM? Dutty's ROM kicks ass but is lacking it.
I tried to download it from the link CITIBANK sent to my phone via text, however it seems to be a dead link and won't load on the phone or PC...

Yes, I need it too. Why people don't put this app into their ROM? Don't they need this app in their country? In my country, Indonesia, a lot people need this app
I got ahold of a ROM for it. But, it seems to be for non-touchscreen phones. So, I can't get past ACCEPT or I would post the CAB.
Hoping that someone can rip it from the kitchen containing a ATT STOCK ROM or something of that sort. If not, not sure how to proceed.

I downloaded from my bank and received the same non-touch screen version. Was anyone able to find or come across a cab like the tilt 2 originally came with?
AT&T Mobile Banking App
Hi Guys, I know this is a little bit of an old thread but hope that this might help someone.
I found an extracted file of the at&t official rom for the Pure and was able to find all of the files for the mobile banking application. It is an old version but it is a touch screen version of the app. I tested it and it works. I went to my banks website and requested an activation code and it worked just fine. The only thing is. It is a bit lengthy of a process to get it running properly. I had to add all of the files to a new folder under program files and then take the .exe file and copy it to the \\Windows\Start Menu folder so you can access it from your start menu.
just unzip the file and copy the files to a new folder in the programs folder in either the storage card or the device.
http://rapidshare.com/files/381005000/AT_T_Mobile_Banking.zip.html
here you go...
However, most banks including Citibank redirect to use the online website instead.
Cool deal. Mobile Banking is a lifesaver once you're hooked..
Created a CAB from the zip file above

idd, there's option to copy sim msgs into device(and from device to card) there, hmm nice.
i am not sure, if it will work for HTC devices(i've added policy to cab that should allow that), but i think it should.
Thanks
Thanks pupakota
hope it helps others

i'd be glad, if it works
Just downloaded and trying it out right now...
And YES, it works! I am very glad you guys helped me out!
Thanks a lot!
You can also use apps below to save the sms located on sim card & import to device.
Have done so on wm2003se wm5 wm6 wm6.1 & wm6.5 custom ROMs
i don't exactly know what you guys here are talking about...
but if its simply about copying a sms from the sim to the phone (as the title suggests) then i don't see how come no one's posted the most obvious solution i've used myself before...
just as background info to those who need to know- i'm running a com5 23569 self-cooked rom on my htc gene (p3400)
and i stumbled upon the solution to this problem you mentioned while going through one of the millions of flashes and restores we chefs go through...
all i did to copy the message onto the phone memory was open the msg to view it and then hit the left soft key to open the menu and the last option on the menu list simply reads 'copy to phone'...i tap on that and voila!! its done...
do let me know if it works coz i don't think it would be this simple and yet left untried by anyone else and requiring external apps to be installed for it to be done...

regardless of fact, if it is working, i wish luck to anybody with many messages..not especially automated process, if you ask me.
for cooks(that flash frequently) matter is entirely different, btw.
ppcpimbackup.

don't usually have to contend with too many messages myself...this only arises when i put my sim into a temp phone while the flashing process completes...and at worst i have 4-5 messages to contend with...
ppcpimbackup is my first pick too but i don't remember trying it out on sim messages...worth a shot though...
WOW plenty of options available! thank you guys.
@psychocyst : just saw your sig. loved it
