PDAMobiz V4 ROM - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario ROM Development

it's released today. does anybody knows something about it?

Test it and you will know

that's one funny rom, crowded with fun themes, thai sounds and applications. it's orwell based, so better avoid it.

There's some applications riped form ETEN ROM (Scenarios, Speed Dial) which I would like to have. Does anybody know (have) a cab for this?

Where can i get it ? =)

!! No Go !!
I don't dig the PDA mobiz people or their roms. Recognition for taking a base wm6 orwell and adding media. This doesnt equal a good rom, Stick to tweaking your own, or stick with Faria's base roms for stability.
thai mp3s and themes = Bad Buggy Roms

after some searching I found it. this is a cab from eten ext_rom with scenarios application (something like profiles manager) and call filter application. works well on wizard.

Or try V5
......and the final one.

Which WM6 ROM is built for speed?

I see many WM6 ROM's on this forum. I flashed several WM5 ROM's before and now have a version of WM6 running. It works fine but I am dissapointed with the performance. I just to run an older version of Molski WM5 and i still feel it was faster. I might try cooking a ROM myself, but since so many ROM's are already being built I wondered if (and which) ROM is built for speed through:
-Optimal Page pools
-Included registry tweaks
-Limited amount of startups
etc etc.
Overclocking can also help of course but if the base is already fast it is a better starting point. And to be honost if I would cook myself I wouldn't know exactly which settings to use.
For the 15.2.1413 build, the "Naked+Camera" is about as streamline as you can get. Nothing extra, no fluff. Lots of free memory.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=309131
Thanks. I flashed before but always from an exe file. This is a nk.nbf file. I searched the forum here but the flashing sticky doesnt mention how to flash a file like this? is there a special tool required?

Overview of the many roms created here and a vote for the best rom for the Universal

Guys there are a lot of roms created by the genious minds of rom cooks here. id like everyone to share there view of the roms overview and a vote for the best rom cooked for the Universal. Sounds fun huh!
my list (sorry if I missed anyone)
ROM really depends on your needs . If the cook has put in the apps you use, go for his rom. Otherwise it takes up more space adding your own apps - or alternatively go for rDosti/B&L vanilla and add all your own.
The free memory is important to me (being a 64MB Uni owner!!), and I have recorded the free memory on a clean install with no SD card in.
I want working camera, TCMD TCPMP and Route66N7 to work properly (which likes its memory!). I don't use wkTask, but prefer QuickMenu or currently playing with Battery Status (but after making own theme with weather, this took up too much program memory, and although looked nice I decided that I needed functional and not eye candy!). Fast is also good . I also need my Blade BT headset to work with my BT GRPS mouse.
My observations (in no particular order):
Tomal 7.7 OS 19900 (19900'2), 27.8 MB free (program memory) here
-this is stable and has all apps I like *my favourite* (also has flash-disk)
EFN 2.4 OS 19588 (19900'3), 27.4 MB free here
-seems stable, need to add few apps (eg, TCMD, TCPMP), but has VC - keeping my eye on this! (more of want than need as I don't get 3G at home!)
rDosti 9 OS 19188 (19174), >33.9 MB free here
-seems stable, vanilla so need to add all apps you want (incl. Word, Excel, .NET etc). Built on my old favourite ROM from thingonaspring (below) - but with same problem. Can't get Blade (BT headset) to work
PDAVIET 2.61 OS 19949, 28.6 MB free here
-hangs occasionally, couldn't change alarms
-not a rom cooker on this forum, so feedback is useless from here!
Mo3ulla 1.5 OS 19588, 26.97 MB free here
-seems stable, but was disappointed with free program mem
Thingonaspring 41.28 OS 19188 (19174), 29.8 MB free here
-stable, excellent free memory, settings/buttons had no lock or backlight, some components getting old (TCMD) - has real VGA (if you like that sort of thing!)
-seems to have stopped cooking any more universal rom's - anyone heard from thing?
JWRights here
-no information, except was slow in dealing my cards in Patiences game
Beasty&Laurentius 2.08.01 Business here
-they also have newer test version and older FullFlavour/Vanilla versions, and were my favorite cookers
-beasty still pops back to help, and may produce newer rom, but has gone on to some wierd htc machineAdvice: pick your ROM(s), and help the cookers sort out bugs & features by encouraging them - and they can use this information with others too.
Hope this helps someone
great
thanks jonmorgan for your effort and views. come on guys more overviews will help our good rom cookers to improve their cooking by giving out your reviews of their great and effortfull work..
My vote goes for....
Ranju´s v7.6 & v7.7 definetly!
Cheers!
Ranju's 7.6 here!
Using Tomals 7.7 I must say, eaven after testing some others...
This is the best.
Its stable, fast, i love flashdisk and storage space
for this poll i Vote for Tomal/Ranju 7.7

--- Did you try 9.1 (it has extra support for BT mouse and other BT devices. I would suggest trying that and then letting me know if it doesnt work with your Blade... I believe 9.1 should fix that (the main reason i released it).

great replies guys
man you guys are great keep on helping our friends, the genius rom cookers for their hard work thank you cookers without you all we could never make the universal the way it is today. thanks all guys for their overviews.

That's one of the fastest roms or may be the FASTEST rom ever created for the Uni, and no, the free program memory after reboot is 26-27+ MB with some programs in start up on 64 MB Universal! You guys don't write some stuff before test it

Yes, I can also confirm this rom is THE FASTEST so far for universal, it is very stable and was the only rom that did not give me phone hang-ups, but because it is so vanilla I had a few issues getting some parts of phone to work...so had to switch back to 7.7 rom

Sorry, I did test it. I have now re-flashed and can report it to be 26.97 (I have edited my post).
This is strange - the total is only 46.27, where-as other ROM flashers are getting their totals much higher. I wonder if Mo3ulla got this higher, the free program memory would also go up.
I don't know how to test speed, except if my card game goes slow
Tomal is the best
I also have flashed tomal ranju's 7.7 rom and its really col and stable but what i noticed is it drains my battery very much is this normal or have i done something wrong?
anyways ranju 7.7 is the best for me.
and guys keep up the great work
Well, Ran's 7.7 is the one I like the most now as he provides me the apps I need. No wasting time to install , just up rom and use. I'm looking forward to the official release of version 8.0 from Tomal. Stable, no irritating problems though there're small problems with my EXEC, not sure whether those happen to other universals.
Cheers!
wm5
im going back to the wm5 aku3.5
my prblem is solved in sdhc driver. damn it it was sdbus.dll and sdmemory.dll after all.
ryt now im sticking on video call my uni is lame w/o it.
for cooked ROM probably ranju 7.7
but i got all apps for wm6 the contol panel thing so i used rdosti clean ROM v5-v10
ill wait rdosti v15 it could be 64mb free of RAM i think. joke
nice looking:
pamquang diamond rom
cons: freezes, call slow response. sometimes shutdown automatically..
efn video call- it didnt work on mine
rdosti - lots of memory free but apps its up to you spot wer the good version is because my opera 9.5 build 405 not run on v9.1..
hey anybody cud share a files/hacks to run opera 9.5 on wm5.

That's the main point! Most people didn't try all ROMs and therefore their oppinion isn't accurate...
I've tried all, except rDosti v10 and my favorite are rDosti v9.1 (I don't use because we can't install VCall out cab) (probably the fastest) and PDAVIET 2.61 OS 19949 (the 2nd fastest ROM)!
PS: I don't have problems to set the alarm on PDAVIET's ROM!
Ranju 7.7 .......
Tried Darkforce, mu3ulla and rDosti.
rDosti is my favourite, because
- his ongoing support
- quick problem solving with new ROM
- a lot of free program memory
Only things I miss at the moment:
- Flash disk (where is it? What is it?)
- good BT support (Please leave BT enabled when connection to my GPS!)
But, hey, he's posting a new ROM every day, so maybe next week?

[Help] Stripped WM Rom

Hi guys.
I think this might be my first post in this forum, despite being signed up for a while now.
I need a litle help from you. I have been messing around with my Kaiser. I have tried some roms and found some that I specially love:
PDA Corner Ultimate Beta II and NATF v5. Both with radio 1.70.19.09.
Ok, moving on, I really don't use my Kaiser for much, besides calls, videocalls and messenger/mail/mms/sms.
What I am trying to find is a really really stripped rom. I know we can't remove IE, and some more stuff, but for instance, notepad and stuff like that, would be great...
My idea would be to have not a LITE rom, but a SUPER LITE rom.
Correct me if I am wrong, please:
The less aplications installed, the smaller pagepool needed, therefore helping reducing battery draining. I know that's not the only way, but it would be a great help. Besides it would be "designed" by me, wich would also be great.
I have been fidling around with kevin's kitchen, but from what I know, it does not mess with windows directly, besides some registry tweaks.
Where can I find an application for that? And a tutorial/thread to be more informed please. I have searched but all I can find is regular cooking (adding applications to stock roms)...
Best regards, Pedro Maia.

Take a look at Alex's Cooking Kit's on the Wiki (Kaiser Kitchen). He has an "Ultra Clean" rom with pretty much everything stripped.

Try my IBI light. You can also grab IBI:The Kitchen from my tread there, full kitchen everything open. Ready just to run the KAISERKITCHEN batch. You can also just go into Packages folder and remove some of the unwanted packages there (and add others as pleased). This is a ultra light rom (Around 140mb free storage out of the box
57-60 mb free memory out of the box // depends on setup) wich is quite speedy if I might add myself (yeah I made it, and I am not afraid to say so lol).

I have searched and flashed but to no avail, can somoene help?!

Hi all
I've been looking for a CLEAN speedy rom for ages, ever since At0mang stopped cooking the quality of the roms on here seems to have dropped, there doesnt seem to be a single RAPHAEL rom, or one that hasnt been heavily modified to include the very buggy rhodium manilla
does ANYONE know of a CLEAN/SPEEDY rom with minimal extra applications but of course the regular gamut of speed enhancements
many thanks
Try PROven 4.2 with or without tp or rhodium manillas
Have you tried Da-G's? he's releasing roms in addition to kitchens now. It might be buggy since its the lastest 6.5 build.
I've already tried Provens 4.2
its moreso the issues with the menu's thats the problem
same with Da_G's, theres just some pretty annoying bugs on there
the only thing i tend to use my TP for is as a phone, to text and call, and some of the roms are just really slow when it comes to texting!
You could try NATF's Roms. They are pretty stable, and you can choose the lite version - it comes without Manilla, and then you can add whatever apps you like.
i'd recommend RRE roms... it comes with or without Manila and 6.1 or 6.5 versions.
it's amazingly fast and stable
RRE 5.8 series everytime, loved his 6.1 based ROM used Atoms before this, admittedly RRE 5.8 aren't as Naked as Atoms were but they are certainly not filled to the brim with apps just for the sake of having them!! Also try his 6.5 based series..they Freakin Rock and are stable as anything ive used ...
So Far
Hi all,
First of all, i am new here BUT read the rules of this forum as far as i could understand it (am from Holland
and can write/read some English but most of this translated with google translater )
Second i did search what i am looking for but couldn't find it exactly.
This topic is most close to it i think.
I have a touch pro, dutch phone, no simlock, doesn't work very well, very slow phone, microphone is broken so phone function can't be used anymore,
camera had better days, battery is not much better, BUT:
The GPS function does work and that is what want to use the phone for.
I am a tourist trackdriver (Nurburgring Nordschleife) and want to measure my tracktimes with Racechrono.
I know it isn't very accurate, but that doesn't matter on a 21 kilometre track
What i'm looking for is a very very very light windows mobile version without phone functions, games, email, internet, and such, this because the phone crashed alot during the time i used it as daily phone, so there has to be as little programs on the phone as possible.
Only the GPS function and the Race Chrono program have to work.
Can someone help me with this?
Thanks in advance.
Jeroen

Clean Plain WM6.5 anyone? Begging the cooks!

Hi guys,
long time reader, first time poster.
I decided to register because it really galls me.
For past couple of weeks I'm trying all the WM6.5 roms here, and despite the names like "plain" "naked" and such, none are really plain or naked, or they are unstable or miss something or have other problems like they are "not well cooked".
Is there any cook out here who can cook really plain/clean WM 6.5 rom, perhaps with Mobile Office, but without any other apps whatsoever?
I'm using excellent eOS.4.888.Fire rom for 2 years now, and it is aging. I want to upgrade to WM 6.5 but I can't find anything like it.
I just can't believe it is so hard to cook a plain rom with office and without anything else, why do all the cooks have to include extra apps that they like? Is it so hard to cook a rom without them? I don't understand.
I beg you, o Great Holy Cooks of XDA, anyone of yous: please cook a one plain and stable English WM 6.5 rom for our Kaisers! Please!
I will gladly donate to make your effort worthwile, and I'm sure many other xda users would do the same, as almost every rom thread here have the same question about "is it clean/plain and stable rom"... and I believe it shouldn't be that much of work for those who already know how to cook!

clean and plain
wm 6.5 like stock rom with office mobile 2010
What is it you consider a clean ROM? No manila? What apps dont you want? For me most of the ROMs on here are clean..

You can install the new office on a stock ROM. So why cook it?

there is no 6.5 stock rom for kaiser.
no files other than those requierd to run.
no audio or pictures.

Exactly!
This is what I consider plain and clean:
example from eOS.4.888.Fire rom:
forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2729087&postcount=1
- Windows Mobile with its own apps (Active Sync, Calendar, ...)
- very few HTC apps that are specific to Kaiser's hardware features (QuickGPS, Bluetooth, wifi ...)
- MS Office and its neccessary apps
I don't want any audioboosters or other "cook's favorite apps" to take up space in the rom. Make the rom with UC and we can add anything else ourself, at hard reset
clean plain
just the os no htc or ms soft just winmo 6.5
Since Kaiser has a native 6.5 kernel, you get better performance cooking in everything that you want installed, but I'm sure you know well enough. Anyway, I can do this for you once or twice (only once or twice due to limited spare time on my part).
Tell me which build you want and a detailed list of every package you want and I will leave out everything else.
Clean Plain WM6.5 anyone? Begging the cooks
whats the least programs you can make it with no ms soft even office or pics or audio files .
we arent cooks or we would do it ourself thanks in advance.
I can take out every sound, pic, and document and AFAIK, it will still boot. Please keep in mind though, it does not give better performance with 6.5 NK to install things like Adobe reader, Java, Office, or .NET after flash. You will get better performance by cooking them in the rom. OTOH, I believe Manila, Phone Canvas (and anything else with many picture files) are better to be installed after flash instead of cooked in.
As to your question, I only have to leave in a few packages for the rom to boot, but many things will not work if not cooked in (DRM, I believe is one of them).
