I have a CID-Locked QTEK S200 (G4 Version). Its language was originally Portuguese and through some info collected in this forum i managed to successfully change its language to English, leaving IPL and SPL untouched. So far so good.
What if i want to update the Radio ROM?
If i use this RUU

Will this mess up with IPL and SPL or will it just update the radio rom and everything keeps working as it is?

doesn't include ipl and/or spl so you can succesfully install it

yes, I have G4 CID-locked prophet and it works perfect
I don't remember right now if I had to use NV-ID so you have to try by yourself

I`m new to s200, could you please explain how to change the language to English on my Qtek s200???
My sim is also locked by another provider and it doesn`t reconize my SIM card.

just upgrade your device to any available English ROM.
about SIM locked, search for unlocking tools in this forum..Im sure you'll find it!

If I follow this way to put an Italian I-mate rom into my German O2 XDAneo,SPL 2.15, now.......in the future, can I reflash it with an original German O2 rom?
This is important for the warranty ....

WARNING!!!!! DO NOT PERFORM THIS IF YOUR PROPHET HAS THIS ROM "SPL 2.xx.0001"
It's only for versions 2.09, 2.13, or 2.15 (without .001)

If you follow all the steps you'll have your machine without CID, and you can upgrade or downgrade it. You can't see 2.15.001 when you've just finished all the steps, but you can install the ROM that you want.
I've the last dopod ROM and I'll prefer the spanish imate one, but i can (mine is 2.15.001).

Belive me, I follow all the step the Dopod and PDAMobiz guys mentioned, but I can not see the IPL 2.15.0001. I tested many ROM's and at least for me the most porwerful is the last Dopod with overclock at 240 MGz, but I don't like these many programs, my problem is: I can not see the IPL 2.15.0001 on welcome screen, that is. I was running with Spanish Qtek 2.09..... with the lasted Dopod 2.15, with the PDAMobiz ROM and now with the i-mate JAMin - Spanish 2.13.
But sorry I never saw on my screen the 2.15.0001. I have all the tools such CID unlock, Overclock, all the lasted ROM's in market... But the way, I'm rellya happy with the i-mate JAMin Rom, also is my 7th. PPC and is in Spanish language, with overclock is speed improve so much (at 240 MHz)

I have a Dutch M600 (all the text is in Dutch) and it is quite, well, cumbersome. Is it possible to reflash it with some default (non-branded) let's say QTek S200 English ROM? I'm quite new to this and I do not know if the fact it was sold as custom-branded will make any problems.
If it is possible, give me some pointers (thread links, etc.) I searched but I didn't find this specific case to be touched. Thanks in advance.

From what I understand the M600 is just a HTC Prophet, so yes you can flash a standard Qtek s200 WWE like this (the last official Qtek release) ftp://xda:[email protected]_S200_2.20.7.34_2.47.21_2.20.7.114_WWE.zip
As you're going from dutch to english you need to use the novendor romupdate utility ftp://ftp.xda-developers.com/Prophet/Tools/ROMUpdateUtility-NoVendorID.zip or another option is to CID unlock your M600 (for now only possible on G3 devices) It's all pretty simple, use search and read the forum and it will get you there.
In case of doubts, just ask, succes marl

Your answer is exactly what I was hoping for. Until now I'm using M500 and because it has WWE F/W i wasn't interested in all these technical terms. Could you tell me what does it mean CID, AKU, and the other abbreviations that one can see here on the forum? How can I discover whether my Prophet is G3 or G4?

CID= Country ID (basicly it's prrotection so you can't use other firmware then the one your provider supplied) G3 device can be CID unlocked easly, G4 devices not. Check the last digits your bootscreen, if you see x.xx.000 it's G3, if you see x.xx.001 it's G4)
AKU= Adaption Kit Upgrade= Upgrades to the OS, provides fixes and new features (Like pushmail for example). Check out this URL http://www.mobile-review.com/pda/articles/wm-aku-en.shtml

CID unlocked devices you can backup to SD using terminal software over USB, use search on the forum. CID locked devices are a different story, but the XDA ftp contains most orginal vendor firmware. Most of the time restoring is not really an issue. Keep in mind that you can not downgrade IPL/SPL once you upgrade. You can downgrade the Extrom, OS and Radio without touching the IPL/SPL so this is normaly no issue.

Ok, I've tried to find the answers but it not easy since topics are too scattered, and allmost everyone forget to put them at prophet wiki or faq's.
Going for the first question, I've found that:
G3=IPL/SPL=2.XX.0000 G4=IPL/SPL=2.XX.0001
My S200 has rom: 2.10.7.24 PTG missing one digit!?

make a softreset and see the IPL/SPL version
Soft reset ur device n der will b sm info. on d boot screen,
if like,
IPL 2.xx.xxxx
SPL 2.xx.xxxx
OS 2.15.13.x
if IPL n SPL r lik 2.xx.xxxx den G4
if IPL n SPL lik 2.xx den G3.
IPL/SPL both have 2.10.0001 ok it's a G4.
Now the next question I've tried to find out but no luck... I bought my S200 as free phone, I mean it does not belong to a specific operator. Do I still have to CID unlock? or is already unlocked?

your phone is probably sim unlocked but still CID locked
CID and sim locks are TWO different things
i'll add this to the wicked, whoever if people would search the answers are there....thats how I found it the first time I got to this place...
If yours unit is not tied to a specific carrier, the phone ought to be still CID locked that it prevents you from loading ROMS from other company/operator (eg, Qtek prevents you from flashing it with iMate ROM). However, you ought to be able to use SIM card from any telco, unless your phone came with a specific telco package (eg, sometimes if you get a SonyE from a telco, the SonyE still needs to be SIM unlock).

When you First Turn on your Phone and you see the Red Letters. R G and B Look for what it say next to R. That is your Radio Version.
Follow the above instructions. But please be sure to read the Wiki and ROM flashing threads before upgrading to WM 6.1. The process is not difficult, but you need to read.

the mda works... but mabye a newly spl version is better for my mda i guess...
so mabye one of you can help me to find the original spl or a better one that works on my mda....
i have read and searched the The Ultimate Radio Thread but i can't find out whitch one is the right one for me... as an excuse my english is not the best...

Not if you flashed Hardspl. The rom will go back to the original rom, but the hardspl will not go back to the stock spl. For that you must find your stock spl and use jumpspl to re-lock your phone to the stock spl and rom.
