Plz Help me to repair a new MDA Compact II (Charmer)

One of my friend updated his brand new MDA Compact II with JAMin Rom after unlocking with loki. every thing was OK except camera. So tried to update with K-JAM's Rom again to do camera work, beause he didn't have original charmer's Rom (now I've got it) The process stared normal and did 1% 50% & finally 100% message apeard congratulation as usual. But the device doesn't start, it just blinks. In the other meaning it has dead now. I rquest you all expert brothers to help me to solve his problem. I know if it comes on boot loader again then will be able to update it with original rom. If some body have a solution for me plz help as quickly as possible.

You tried to do what??? :shock:
If you have a Charmer ROM then load that. You should never, ever try to load a ROM from a different device. Guess you found out the hard way.

think its screwed then. by installing the entire rom package, youve also changed the bootloader. its best in future to extract the OS part of the package and upload that with awizard. I chanced on the kjam os part to see if it could give me an unbranded rom, didnt start up the os, just hung on the splash screen but was able to go back into the bootloader and reinstall the charmer rom.

So What to do dears?
If some body knows any expert's email or contact way, please tell me that i could contact him direct to solve this problem. Some one has told me that there is a bottun inside the device to clear & erase everything to install original rom, is it true??? If so where is it located??

Probably your device is dead now, you could try to send it in for repair, and just say "it didnt work anymore" and behave like you dont know sh*t about these Xda's. Maybe you are lucky and get a new one.

Have you looked into this thread , and look at the bootloader method of flashing the rom.
Just to make things clear, are you able to go into the bootloader mode (the screen with multiple colour). Reset the device, and press the power, camera, record button (e.g. all 3 buttons on the side). You should still able to get into bootloader even if you've screwed the bootloader.
FYI, since you've flahsed your ROM, there is not single (or multiple) button that is able to flash your ROM back.

My dear I'm very thanks to you people to reply me. As I told you my Charmer doesn't come on boot loader so I could do something else. the acatual problem is that boot loader is damaged. I've tried to hard reset & so bring it to boot loader but in vain. What a bad set is this??? that once I got the same problem with I-mat it repaired automatically after a few hours. . so plz help me how can i retrive my boot loader???

does any1 know where i can get a new screen and housing for the mda compact 2. i have a berred one that i used to replace my compact 1 (magician) screen and housing. i am uk side london if it helps. any 1 wnat to take it from me for a price pm me. it will work overseas but not uk.

Rare problem with an upgrade

Hi,
I tried to upgrade my Qtek S200 with the newest ROM release from PdaMobiz (the 16M pooling page one), but encountered some problems...
It's a Portuguese TMN Qtek (or at least it displays the operator logo when started), although the software is in English.
IPL is 2.09 and SPL is 2.15...
However, after upgrading it, it kept displaying the Operator logo with IPL and SPL, and freezed, so it never worked. When I tried to revert it, I wasn't able to do it, because every time I try to install a different ROM (all of them for the G3 device) it just installs the new ROM, and then goes to that screen and freezes...
It never gave me any error during the upgrading/downgrading, because when it checks the version of the ROM, it displays no information, so it just says that is going to replace the inexistant version with the new one...
Is there a step a missed (I didn't put it in bootloader mode before doing the first upgrade, but I had already done that before with other ROMs and it worked fine...)?
Now I'm stuck without knowing if I should have done an unlock CID before upgrading it, or if there is another steped I missed... Please help me out...

Read this in one of the threads and it solved his problem:
Extract the rom file you are using to flash your phone, to a folder on your pc, than Extract the file i attached ("ROMUpdateUtility-NoVendorID.zip") into this folder. than connect your phone to pc and double click on "ROMUpdateUtility-NoVendorID.exe".
I personally have not tried it, but I downloaded the prog just in case, Hope it helps.

Just tried what you advised, but now it jusk keeps giving me the error 208, which is supposed to happen because I have other programs open on my computer... Tried rebooting, closing most aplications with task manager, and still it doesn't work.
Also tried to downgrade to lower ROM upgrade, but it gives me the error that I can't downgrade, only upgrade...
When I upgrade it with AKU 2.3, it goes all the way through the upgrade, and then when it reboots, it just keeps giving me the operator logo screen with the version info on the display.
If I try to reboot to bootloader mode, I'm not able, the only way to do it is by removing the battery...
I'm probably still doing something I shouldn't... It should be able to work the downgrade utility...
Anyone can help?

It shoud be ok.
If your prophet has spl end up with 2.xx.0001 check at
ftp://xda:[email protected]/Uploads/Prophet/
find out the rom which can solve for SPL 2.xx.0001.

1. Unlock cid
Since your prophet spl is 2.15, you have to follow this step.

Your PC has to connect to network or internet (to have ip address), becuase in that script use ping command for delay 4 seconds.
It's just downgrade and unlock cid.
You may verify if cid unlocked, by backup rom to sd card. (use romupdate.exe with r2sd all command, check at wiki)
2. Upgrade to official rom

3. Upgade to pdamobiz, I suggest you to upgrade 12 Mb pagepool version. (even 8 mb version is ok). Because 16 mb has smallest ram space.

i think my treo 750 is dead

Hi everyone,
I have a big problem and I need urgent help please. I have ATT 750 unlocked and I'm outside the States now. My Treo was 6.0 then I upgrade it to 6.1 so far so good.
Then I saw a custom rom that I thought it was interesting. the custom rom was for HTC Dimond I think. without paying too much attention. I started the upgrade. It went 70% before the upgrade crashed.
Now my Treo is not responding to anything. I have the original ATT 6.0 SD upgrade and I have the 6.1 lite upgrade. I'm using CheetahUnlocker to flash the SPL (that is working) but when I try to install the 6.0 or 6.1 using Kaiser Custom RUU v1 it crash.
I saw the post above that suggest to place the original 6.0 on a freshly formated SD and install from there. that is not working either. when I try to install the software it goes into these steps before it crashes: btw, I have the tri-color bar and it has the following info:
CHEE100
IPL-0.20
SPL-1.40.01iNex
while update in progress i see the following:
CHEEIMG.nbh
SPLASH1 - OK
BOOTLOADER - OK
GSM - OK
MicroP - OK
EXTROM - Fail
OS -
After the crash I get this msg: "Update Terminate Update Failed"
Any suggestion please? need more info? then let me know

You may have corrupted your DOC, you may need to use mtty to reformat it. Do some searching on how to do it.
Or try to use T750URT.exe to restore it, it comes with the Treo desktop updater.

After I flashed a WM6.5 costum ROM in my treo750 it works fine...until 4 hour after...the display just stay black. It´s on, but black!!
I´ve tryed reset, hard reset and force to reflashed to an original WM5.0 without success.
Does anyone know what is happening with my phone??

[Q] Upgrading G2Touch/Hero to 2.1

I have an unlocked T-Mobile G2 Touch (service provider O2), which I am trying to upgrade to 2.1. I am currently running 1.5 and have just updated to the 2.73.110.26 ROM which I downloaded and installed from HTC.
After installing this ROM upgrade i get a message asking me to do a software update, (which I understand from reading forums should complete the upgrade to 2.1), but shortly after confirming the update the handset turns off then turns on with what appears to be a warning display, (a triangle next to a presumably dead handset graphic).
I have left it like this for 20mins+ and nothing happens so i have tried the process again, (re-install 2.73.110.26 ROM, get prompt to update), still the same problem.
Does anyone have a suggestion? I can't help but think I am having this problem because I have an unlocked phone.

I should also point out that just before doing all of this I rooted the handset, (followed instructions from Unlockr.com). I had planned to use a custom ROM but if i'm honest it was daunting and so I thought i'd attempt the official update first.

Hey guys Ima need your help here:
Yesterday I was updating my Samsung Omnia 7, it has Mango installed but SFR-FR made a new OEM update available with improved firmware and bootloader. So I changed my carrier from 000-88 to SFR-FR, and started updating. From here everything went wrong: error codes floating around, workarounds wouldn't work either, so I thought: let's take a fresh start.
I flashed a UK retail rom (pre-NoDo or something), updated my device to Mango, did the same as I did above and now I was able to install the update successfully. But since everything went wrong, I am stuck with one problem: I have no service, or just service for a few seconds.
With my SIM card is nothing wrong, tried it out in other devices. So I guess it has to do with those updates: maybe one screwed up my firmware a bit? I have no clue. It probably doesn't have anything to do with the hardware, I didn't drop the phone or anything else.
I hope you guys have any idea to see what causes this problem, maybe I can do some tests from the Diagnosis app? Maybe there is a registery value that I need to check? Help is really appreciated
