I have an Alpine (XDA IIi) and an ericsson T39m mobile phone. Both of these devices are bluetooth enabled. I want to know how I may use my PPC to act as a headset so that I can have a telphone coversations that is piped through the T39m.
Why: because I bought my PPC in the UK and when I am in turkey (where I work) its IMEI is locked but my t39m works there. I manage to pipe GPRS via bluetooth dial-up networking going but only if I can get the phone piping too.
Why not use the HTC IMEI changer available on the forums to change your alpine's IMEI to your T39's IMEI?
That way you can scrap your T39 and just use the alpine.
Thaks for the reply. I have tried but did not succeed. The tools are listed for
Typhoon
Hurricane
Tornado
Wizard
Prophet
mine is an Alpine. I do not know why it did not work on my PDA. May be I did not do it right but I tell you I spent months on this. If you can give me a little help of pointer as to how to do this on Apline I will appreciate it.
Regards......

Hi All,
I am using internet telephony on my PC and I am curious whether anybody knows whether it is possible to use my MDA compact (or any other PocketPC device) as a remote phone set via bluetooth. Would be nice to walk around the PC doing a phone call through the internet.
If somebody knows, can you let me know how?
Thanks,
Lars
if you have the wifi card and use the program skype you can do ut
I don't want to use WiFi.
I would like to use a Bluetooth connection between my MDA compact and my (host) PC which has an internet connection. Basically, my MDA compact should work like a "Bluetooth headset" for my PC.
Lars
i'm not sure if the ms bluetooth stack support that profile
maybe the vidcomm does ?
Is it possible to put the Widcom stack on my MDA compact??
Hello,
Im a new owner of a HTC S710, i like the phone and i previously owned a Orange SPC C600. And im a proud owner of an Dell Axim X51v.
In the past i could go discover with my Dell Axim the bluetooth devices and see the c600 and see its bluetooth dailup service. i used that to automatically make connection with the phone and dail up when i the axim needed a connection.
But now with the S710 it only finds an accesspoint to witch it won't connect. and i really want the dailup back so it automatically connects.
How can that be done?
Greetings, Marcus

You will want to install the Widcomm BT stack on your Axim. It supports BT PAN client mode.
Also see my related articles - I've published a LOT of articles on this problem.
Hello,
I have the widcomm stack on my axim, and it worked fine with my C600 but now with the S710 the service just is not there? There is no option for a bluetooth dailup when clicking on cennect to a phone for internet.
Greetings

Use BT PAN and read http://www.pocketpcmag.com/blogs/index.php?blog=3&p=1415&more=1&c=1&tb=1&pb=1 for the why's.
HI!
I had a Blue Angel, I used to conect to my other phone(CDMA) via bluetooth for dialup net access(I get free Mb per month there plus its faster(EVDO). My Vox does not see the dial up service on my other phone. Is there anyway to make it find the dial up service?
Hi,
I wonder if anyone has been able to use the vox/ htc e650 as a modem with a palm pda.
I used to use my spv c550 and old e200 with a T3 no problems at all, both with infrared and with bluetooth.
I can pair my e650 and send files to/from the devices but no amount of fiddling with the connections work to enable dial up gprs.(*99# on orange node)
I worked out how to set this up on the older spvs when I worked for orange so they could update their internal pages when people called about this but canoot get it working on vox models.
I have tried setting generic gsm phone or universal phone driver which worked on my old spv so am guessing that something has been changed in the way it uses modem drivers or windows mobile.
Can anyone help ?
Thanks
it seems I found the answer after looking thru the forums.
Discovered the cab that allows DUN via bluetooth instead of the pan internet sharing which I don't thing the palm supports anyway.
One thing I noticed is that there is nothing on the phone to indicate a connection is in progress.
On previous spv phones and ipaq I has 2 arrowa to show data connection was made.
Is this usual on vox or just a quirk of the dun workaround ?
I have a T-Mobile SDA running the WM6 Perfect English ROM and I can't get the BT DUN hack to work. I installed the .cab file for the BT DUN hack and soft reset. When I pair it with my other cell phone (VZW Nokia 6315i), I don't have an option for the Dial Up Networking service. I was able to BT DUN with my old Blue Angel (VZW XV6600) and with my laptop on the 6315i.
Anybody able to get the hack to work on their SDA? If so, any suggestions on what I'm missing.
Thanks

Did you first SDA Application Unlock your phone? Make sure the devices are paired! The options or bluetooth dialup setup should be on the PDA or laptop, but see if you have a dialup option on the SDA, if not still it should work. Another thing make sure you install the bluetooth Dun.cab from my thread at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=340762 ..............!
My SDA is application unlocked. Unlocked it before I did the WM6 ROM upgrade. I had the BT dun hack .cab already installed. I uninstalled it and installed yours instead. Same thing is happening. No services are listed after pairing.
I paired the SDA with my laptop and the laptop is giving me the option for DUN as listed services. Essentially, I want my SDA to BT DUN with my 6315i. Is this even possible?
No Way!

The Two cell phones will not pair via bluetooth Dun Dial-up, but you should be able to pair each cell phone to your laptop via bluetooth Dun dial-up. The phones act as the connection modem, the bluetooth Dun dial-up connection setup options will always be on the device (laptop, PDA,ect) that you are trying to connect to the Internet. The phones do not have this option, because they will act as the modem!
That's unfortunate. My Blue Angel was able to BT DUN with my 6315i. You are saying this was only possible because the Blue Angel was a PDA phone. The BA did not originally have the DUN profile but a hack was devised from a PDA. Is there such a device like a smartphone without the phone hardware where a hack for the SDA can be devised?
Thanks for all the help and info.
Hey everyone just wondering if anyone knew of a way to use a WM6 device to a Cisco CallManager as an extension on the system?
-=*)RADAR(*=-
YUP,
I'm curious about this too!
Anyone no how to do this?
This may not be what you're asking, but is the Cisco CallManager the "soft phone" app for their Internet phone? If so, I use the Plantronics PersonoCall (free) app. They have a personal and an enterprise version, but they both seem to work the same.
With a Plantronics multipoint BT headset like the 510 or 615 and the BUA100 BT dongle, answering or making a call on either is seamless, the headset switches back and forth between my PPC-6800 and the soft phone without doing anything on the headset.
I've tried this program with other headsets and dongles, but none work as well as this combination.
Well lemme go into more detail here:
I run a cisco voip network both at home & at work. I would like to use my mobile phone (kaiser aka tilt running Death4 ROM) over WiFi and have it become basically an "extension" on the system. Configuring things on both ends is not a problem since I'm the network admin. Just wasnt sure what software I needed on the windows mobile side, or if it was even possible!
I'm going to look into this software further, thanx for the reply either way!

I did find a software that I have already tested (as of right now) that works perfectly!
hxxp://www.ipblue.com/products_vtgo_ppc.asp
Very minimal setup, and pretty robust!

I don't know what version of Call Manager you are running (Call Manager Express, UC500 or Call Manager Appliance). You can do what you want from your kaiser installing in it a Softphone that uses SIP or Skinny (I don't know if exists). On the other hand, you have to have a VPN client in your kaiser installed because remember Cisco sees the extensions as a MAC Address, and you have "to be" inside your netkork. So, raise up a VPN tunnel against your work or home, take an IP Address from there and your SIP phone is gonna log into your call manager as if you was inside your office.
What's the problem I have? I'm know using Kaiser or Windows Mobile device and I don't know any softphone. I don't know what to use. I want to know if exists any free software but I also want to know which ones are paid.
Good Luck.
Guido.
