my Compact II is with German OS.
It isn't possible downgrade to 2003 SE and we jest have to find WWE OS for it.
I don't know if there will be a Italian ROM for the same device with different brand name!
From Germany the MDA Compact II is Netlock so you have to unlock it with Lokiwiz tool.

I could successfully unlock the SIM lock or CID lock. But, with the CID unlocked, how can I backup the MDA Compact II ROM (I just wanna make a backup before upgrade)? Error message: 'You didn't get the proper security level to download a specific image' is always shown when I use 'r2sd all' in Romupdate.

So you have tried upgrading to a German language ROM and then it gave you the CID error?

Have you tried to upgrade with the official software-update-file provided by T-Mobile or one out of the "Shipped_ROMS"-folder from this sites ftp by first putting the device into bootloader-mode and then starting the wizard? For me this worked where I had such errors while trying to flash my O2 mini to T-Mobile MDA (for ROM 1.13, both German) with Windows loaded.

T-Mobile Germany has a MDA (I used it for my MDA II with Windows Mobile 2003) ROM upgrade here:

I don't know if this will work for any newer MDAs since it was specifically released for the MDA II.
Use only magician roms for the pm10a & no prophet roms :!: & vice-versa of course.
When the mentioned rom is for the magician with WM2003SE & 128MB & the intel cpu, you can try at own risk. If it's for the ti omap cpu you're asking for troubles.

I am just wondering if it is possible to upgrade the MDA Compact original to the same rom that the MDA II Compact uses as the MDA II Compact is running the latest version of Windows mobile 2005.
I have just updated my MDA Compact to;
RomVersion: 1.13.00 WWE
RomDate: 18/08/05
RadioVersion: 1.12.00
ProtocolVersion: 1337.42
ExtROMVersion: 1.13.128 WWE
Would like to know if the MDA II will run... I have the rom but it obviously says wrong device.. can that be bypassed and will it run

I downloaded the HTC Wizard rom (T-Mobile) (MDA_software_update_226102_22610105_022511) and flashed it to my VPA II and after reboot nothing happend, the Vodafone Software installed again on the PPC. I tried another ROM (WM6BE) this time I couldn't flash it error message.
Can you help me to get the right rom to install and how to get the German support for the Keyboard.... I have the G3 VPA (IPL/SPL 2.21)

You should not just start flashing roms or you can wind up with a brick instead of a phone. Until you learn the proper steps to upgrade, don't attempt anything else.

I have problem with my O2 Mini, a Year ago I had install ROM 2.03 TX to my XDA O2 Mini and since then I can not downgrade or upgrade the ROM to any ROM
Does anyone of you could give me the answer about how to replace that ROM because right now my O2 mini is like a dead devices (which mean I can't take any picture from it camera because there is no camera driver on that 2.03 TX Rom).

Hi. Before 2 years ago I successfully downgrade my MDA Compact from TX 2.03 with original English ROM, but I can not remember which version I used. Do you tried this method?
Could you please give us the error message?
Anyway, try flashing it with Ma_upgradenoid.exe. Just extract the Rom, put this in the folder and open it.
