Hmmm, they call it subnote, but Universal also called subnote. And it's from HTC to...
lol im joking some sites that have reviewed it refer to it as a mini laptop.
Given the specs id doubt anyone could fit that thing in a pocket
"is that a phone in your pocket or you just happy to see me ...."

Is that wonderful? It's just 133x98x16mm size, compare with Univ 127x81x25mm, not much different. Even they use PDA pross and hardware but some of them said it's UMPC??? Even from HW and SW it doesn't fit to called as it. Is thatgreat? PPCphone device that can do UMPC thing?
Anyway it's from HTC, it's fit with this forum purpose?
It will surely be added.

Does anyone have any info on the HTC Blizzard?
I was reading an review of WM2005 and at the bottom it said...
The key devices that will illustrate this approach this year are Asus p515, HTC Blizzard and Samsung Thor.
But Google only finds the review I read it in and no more info?!
My O2 mini got it's self stolen and I want to know if it is worth waiting for a new model or getting another mini
EDIT: Ok so I read it again and it sounds like it is probably a smartphone not a PDA... does anyone know of any plans for a new PDA from HTC? or somthing the same size as the mini possibly with builting wi-fi?
I only had my mini a week before some low life scum stole it, but I miss it alot!
Do you guys think it is worth waiting for WM2005 to be released and see if a new generation of XDAs come with it or just give in now and get another mini?!?

Can anyone pls inform, where it is launched and possible link for the ROM.I hv searched but failed to get any results
never heard of the KAIS1000 ... only the KAIS100
you can search on that then !
tried..not available..if u hv any link pls share
According to pdadb.net, HTC Kaiser 100 is the same as the AT&T Tilt 8925. Maybe this will make a search more likely to produce good hits?
Unless of course you are sure that "KAIS1000" is exactly what you want?

The spec sheet on PDADB.NET is old ( February 28, 2007 ) ... among other reports as well ... because these were speculations BEFORE the KAISER ever hit the market ...etc
as you can see from this post ... in the beginning .. we were all anxiously waiting for it & read all the reports ..etc
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=1509751#post1509751
The TyTN II (dual camera ) were thought to be as KAIS120 .. but in the end ... when we took out the battery slot ... it really said KAIS130 in print & in bootloader mode
UnicornKaz,
Yeah, I noticed that after my post above. One more thing they got wrong is the display type. They claim the Kaiser has a transflective display. Anyone having used a Kaiser in direct sunlight can tell whether this is true or not...
Even Wikipedia got the different models of the Kaiser wrong...

regarding the type of screens ... there is a big debate/discussion on that issue somewhere here ...
seems that there is indeed a mixed batch that does come with it and the majority does not ...etc

Looks like I got one of the cheap-*ss models then... Makes sense though as GPS maps for the Middle East are hard to come by, so HTC must have figured that outside use will not be important and hence no need for an expensive transflective display?!
You know what? Not one day goes by without me feeling more and more that I did a BIG mistake buying this P.O.S. . . .
just like the title says!

that site is so freaking slow!! it' turning hackers away!

I have been using this since April 2, and my Kaiser has been in my drawer ever since (sorry HTC)
Which one, the 8502 or 9502. I have an 8502 and I've gotta tell you, it is by FAR the best PDA phone I have ever used. Not only is it VERY small in size which is GREAT, but the battery life is good too. If it had a VGA screen, and maybe a front facing camera, it would be the best phone ever. My buddies 9502 is also a very solid phone. Abit bulky but not too bad. Thinner than the tytn II but longer.
again, this forum is called XDA-devs. I find it somewhat hypocritical that it encompasses only HTC made devices. But a rule of thumb is that if its not available via XDA, it's not getting a forum.
Weird, but thats how it works

As the portal (the main page...) says, it's devoted to HTC devices.
I'm in too! I owning one 8502 and generally satisfied. Of course, it could be better with new ROM supporting SDHC!

It will never support SDHC. It is a hardware issue, in that the Wifi card uses some parts of the SD card reader.

that sucks! i hope the WM 6.1 will have an update for it.
No, it will support it.... Its not a hardware issue.... You will see!
Never gonna get tired of this phone. It's the best and only QWERTY phone I will ever use.
Best I have ever had
I have had my 8502 for about 11 weeks and it is by far the best unit I have ever owned.
This is at least my 8th PDA and I migrated from a JasJam and in every aspect the 8502 is far superior even with WM 6.0.
I use it quite heavily with lots of software installed and certainly have not had the issues that some of you are talking about.
All I am waiting for is WM 6.1 and some Rom cookers and the 8502 will be even better.
i'm suprise that my Imate 9502 is very stable and everything just works!
i have a tytn 1 upgraded to WM6.1, and usb tethering keep disconnecting!
8502 user here........ must agree this is the best windows mobile i have used.....just check out my signature, been through a lot of pdas in the last couple of years....

For me too
anyone know if this phone is HTC made or just some other brand? it is fairly new so there isn't a whole lot out there explaining this. wikipedia doesn't even have an article on it.
Its htc
Please post question in the Q&A section from now on.
hm.. good device or no? doesnt seem to use windows mobile?
definitely looks pretty nice. we'll probably have a section for this phone soon too.
edit
sry mod its actually UTStarcom's Knick which is probably why wm6 isnt on there.
http://www.engadgetmobile.com/2008/10/09/utstarcoms-knick-gets-renamed-atandt-quickfire-for-launch/
i have one to unlock but its only blink ( at&t then restart ) it came to me in this condition .. is there any way to repair it and unlock .... ?
Hi everyone,
I am currently using a Ciphone C5, loaded with Windows Mobile 6.1. I like it, but it's not 3G-capable and I have to use a headphone adapter in order to listen to music on it, which is pretty annoying. I would like to get a phone that is 3G-capable and has a standard 3.5mm headphone jack.
I'd like some suggestions on what kind of phone to buy. I'm open to Windows Mobile, Android, or even an iPhone. Can some of you share your likes and dislikes about the phones you are using? I like the idea of being able to customize my phone, which is why I like the WM operating system, so most of the Samsung phones are not on my list. Any suggestions?

Not sure I can afford the $800+ price tag haha.
Agree that is very pricy...hopefully it will be less. Some have preordered for about $700 in Europe...
