How to make a O2 orbit WM6 Rom work for the prophet?

Hi,
o2 germany released a few days ago a WM6 Rom for the XDA Orbit: http://www.o2online.de/nw/support/downloads/software/xda/xdaorbit/index.html
The Xda Orbit has the same specification like the Prophet + an integrated gps-mouse.
i didn`t tried to flash, because i think that the update will recognize that my device is not an Orbit and i don not want to brick my device.
will a nvid-version of this rom work with the prophet?

sorry, but i don't understand you question!

I don't know much of the difficulties or lack of, in porting these roms but I suspect it will involve more than just the vender id. You're right, the specs are pretty much the same though. Wasn't there some updater or something for the wizard which let you use any rom? I might have dreamt or imagined it, but have some memory of people using it for prophet with wizard or some other roms, and having problems with buttons, or something? Anyone remember that.

Is there tranditional Chinese WM6 rom for 818pro?

I am using 818pro Traditional Chinese Edition now, nut I am so interested in WM6 and looking forward having WM6 CHT. Does someone have it or any suggertion?

I know you've post a new tradiitional rom, I've read all the articles too. I also explain because I am not an expert on PDA so I need to make sure the rom I am going to use is very stable. So, you think the rom you had post is 100% stable? I am sorry for asking this kind of question.

Nothing is 100%, but stable enough. Only problem is during change your battery loose some of the password info. good luck.

Thanks for your explanation. I've searched some sites for the information about upgrading my 818 pro to WM6, and I still could not make up my mind to do it. It is all because of how stable it could be. can anyone tell me where to get the 6.1 update for htc s710 in india? i registered with htc india but no updates show-up.
to tell the truth ... i'm not comfortable installing a 'cooked' rom posted by dr. gonzo rom coz its first time got a windows device so if i screw the flashing theres no way i can get the original software back

Dude, don't worry the Read me that comes with the Dr.Gonzo's ROM is self explanatory... And Dear, when i tried it for first time, I screwed my VOX too...But then a little patience and VOX wiki..I am up there with my VOX on WM 6.1..ANd now you can see my Signature, i love trying beta ROMsss.. Just in case anything happen to ur phone, give me a buzz at [email protected] may be i can be of some instant help to u... And i bet my life...Senior members on this forum are always ready to help ppl like us...So go ahead and try it..

there is no official WM6.1 ROM update for S710 ANYWHERE.
you can try the WM6.1 ROM by Dr.Gonzo, it is very good. It does have some minor glitches but a new user like you won't notice it for a while.
and yes this forum will help you if anything goes wrong, but before you do anything please read the wiki completely and when flashing follow ALL instruction(every single line) carefully. ALL!
You would like the WM6.1 rom.
and one more thing....
download the official 1.34 ROM also(its on the FTP),
then in case you screw it up while flashing, you will have the original ROM to fall back on.

Hi all, I recently bought HTC s710 and I love there are some queries see if anyone can guide me :
1. If I flash my device with WM 6.1 can i get the original OS by hard reset?
2. If I flash the device will i lose my warranty which is one year ?
3. If i spoil my device is there a way to restore original OS so that repair people do not come to know that I have flashed my device.

1). If you flash WM6.1 or ANY ROM, you can not restore to the original ROM by hard reset. You will need to re-flash it.
2). Technically, yes you will lose warranty, however...
3). Patched USPL can be used so you can always restore the original factory/OEM ROM and still use your warranty should you have any hardware issues.
In short, I would not hesitate to flash WM6.1 due to those questions you have. The first thing I did when I got my S710 was flash a patched SPL and unofficial ROM.

Yes, it is to all people that are new, it's a fact, they ask before they read, I am getting sick of it. The same questions every day!

XDA should force a reply to each sticky'd Wiki before posting rights are granted, until then only read should be applied to the account. Perhaps I will bring it up with a mod.

It's possible, the C4 forums have it in place on vBulliten 3.7.1, but I am sure they require it more than XDA does.
It would be better to require a certain amount of posts before you can start a new thread. Meh. I don't think it's that much of an issue anyways. I am sure if it was, something would be in place already.

Update error
I downloaded Dr.Gonzo's Monalise v1.0 and finished all the steps in the how-to and Readme. During the final Flash.exe, it is saying ERROR [270] : UPDATE ERROR. The image file is corrupted. Please check your Update Utility.

I did that too. Same error Update Error 270. Image file corrupted. Only the batch file executed correctly after the application unlocking.

Actually you can't.
But I've made a procedure to Italianize the my 8502 that I think will work on the 9502 too.
If you are interested just let me know.

Please READ the Wiki, and find your device there, in you´ll see a ROM list with all available ROM´s for it

This is an HTC oriented forum and there is not a wiki for the ultimates.
There is not a single non WWE rom around the web, there ist not a kitchen nor a dumping procedure.
So what's the point ?

this thread actually points out that, this site, xda-developers, needs to have a forum for imate 8502 & 9502 owners, not sites that take us, the owners, of these phones away from where we may get little support of our phone, instead of just using a beta version of wm6.1.

Just got a universal(UK O2 XDA Exec version)... Came with wm5 but looking to upgrade to wm6... My question is this.Which rom is the most stable and most complete??? And what would I have to do to install the new rom??

For details on how to flash, see the Wiki.
All the information you require is in the Wiki, read it carefully and understand it, so as not to brick your device.
For advice on which Rom is the best.............. there is no such thing as the "best" Rom. It all depends on what you need/want from a Rom.
Tomal is probably the most active Developer in the Uni forums these days so I would advise that you start by reading his most recent threads.
The decision as to which is the best rom for "you" is for you to decide.

I guess you are right regarding the best rom. Am still new to updating roms etc and am aware that I can easily brick the phone hence my post. I'm just looking for the most stable wm6 with everything working I guess at this moment and then can look further into the custom roms etc..

Look at the post he is a big beast LOL and well about rom use Tomals 8.X series.. all of those roms are good and stable... and as beasty said the decision is yours to make about which roms suits u best ( and stick to it)...
And happy flashing....

Recomended ROM
You can try Cotulla ROM (WM 6.1). It fast, stable, and huge available device memory.

Recomended ROM
You can try Cotulla WM 6.1 ROM. It fast, stable, good battery consumption and huge device memory. Good luck.
