Does anyone know if I can update the firmware of my Vodafone SP05 with the one of the QTEK 8300 or the QTEK 8310.

Why do you say "void the warranty" ?
It should not! I just got exchanged my T-mobile SDA, it covers by warranty.
Bottom-line, you could restore old rom, everything should be same as original

That's exactly what I need to know, I searched through the web, but I didn't find clear informations about this phone so I don't know if it it the same of a QTEK 8300 or a QTEK 8310 or none of the two.
Do you know where can I get this informations?
Vodafone support did not tell me anything about it.

I downloaded ServiceClient.exe but it didn't work, maybe I must first kill ActiveSync... do you know where I can get documentation for ServiceClient.exe ?

Hi,
o2 germany released a few days ago a WM6 Rom for the XDA Orbit: http://www.o2online.de/nw/support/downloads/software/xda/xdaorbit/index.html
The Xda Orbit has the same specification like the Prophet + an integrated gps-mouse.
i didn`t tried to flash, because i think that the update will recognize that my device is not an Orbit and i don not want to brick my device.
will a nvid-version of this rom work with the prophet?

sorry, but i don't understand you question!
I don't know much of the difficulties or lack of, in porting these roms but I suspect it will involve more than just the vender id. You're right, the specs are pretty much the same though. Wasn't there some updater or something for the wizard which let you use any rom? I might have dreamt or imagined it, but have some memory of people using it for prophet with wizard or some other roms, and having problems with buttons, or something? Anyone remember that.

If you think you can do it, follow instructions here:

and dump the rom from your device.
And upload to rapidshare (www.rapidshare.com)
If you could do this, I would be a happy man
And even better, If you have access to a norwegian RUU (rom upgrade utility) for your kaiser (Im not sure, but maybe you can get it from htc e-club. http://member.htc.com/member/login.aspx?fm=eu&ln=en
register if you havnt allready, and see if there is a download
other option is contact support via email and ask for a ruu, cause your device has locked, and you need to flash it back
any of theese would be greatly appreciated
If you look in the windows folder of all Tytn II rom there are some cabs that are installed on a hardreset. One is named configure_key.cab
Could that cab install the country specific keymappings?

There isn't RUU for new devices on htc club. Only for upgrade when htc deploy new functionality on the same version of windows mobile (as gps update for P3600 Trinity) or new version of windows mobile.

I've read in some others threads that's impossibile to reconstruct the rom as it comes when u buy. Something miss as office or connection wizard.
Is it the truth?

If you own an Italian device with Italian ROM, you can dump the ROM and reconstruct it for backup purpose. Take a look at my thread in my signature.

i plan to sell my German Herald on ebay and i´m not sure if i am allowed to do so because it is unlocked via HardSPL. I Want to sell it with HTC´s warranty if possible...
Is there a way to get this undone ?
....want to get a newer HTC device
I´ve found something for Kaiser and Wizard - But no original SPL for my Herald....
Did anybody even try to revert the Herald ?
from what i understand to undo hard spl you must uspl the original ruu...(nbh) with the original spl on it.
So i just need to flash the HTC Rom and thats it ?
I didn´t understand that in the Tutorial - Maybe i should just try that !

yes. use USPl- with official ruu_signed.nbh AND spl.nbh

This works for the Wing. I assume if you get the Herald ROM it should work as well.

You cannot change the device IMEI - it's set when the device is manufactured and stays set when the device is dead and buried... if users could change it at will, it would defeat the object of a device having one
Use "Wizard Service Tool" from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=295038 to change it.
There is an option for it (change IMEI)!
But that tool is for Wizard so it might not work very well.
