Hi, anybody knows how data in PalmOS (such as Datebook, AddressBook) can be loaded to WinMob (Calendar, Contact) ?
I have tried to export in Palm Desktop and import from Outlook, but it seems I cannot find the intermediate file type.
Many Thanks!
You shouldn't need an "internediate file type."
Just sync your old PalmOS Treo with Outlook.
Then sync your new Treo 750 with Outlook.
It's pretty seamless.

Sync-ing is fine. How can I live without it? Well I often have to, and I don't like it! I work for weeks or months at a time for clients on their sites and am expected to use their e-mail and calendar systems. However (and quite correctly) many of them won't allow connection to their systems of devices that they have not supplied and configured, so no syncing of my calendar on my PDA (Orange SPV M2000). I know it is possible in MS Outlook to export and import calendar data to and from files, and the files themselves can be sent by e-mail. Does anyone know of complementary software for Pocket PC that can do the same thing, i.e. take outlook calendar data in a file and use it to sync the Pocket-PC calendar (and vice-versa). Yes, I know it is messy, but it isn't half as messy as having to manually keep the two calendars in line!
outlook let you export and import things like that
as you see fit
you can just choose to export the calender to a pst file
and then import it to a nother pc with outlook which the xda can sync with
or maybe one could send an emial from the outlook you cant synch
with invisting you to all the appointments of the calender you require to
have on your device
I have an address.dat from my old Palm Tungsten W. Not sure if any of you can help? I don't know if the Treo uses the Palm Desktop and same address.dat files?
I want to import it into outlook to sync it to the HTC, but of course the .dat file isn't in an importable format?
Does anyone know of something that will convert it to .csv or something?
I have got around this by downloading an old version of Palm desktop, deleting the address.dat file and replacing it with my old one.
I've then had to export each one as a vcf and bring it into Outlook, then sync to my HTC.
Another way to go about it:
if you still have the original Tungsten W CD you will find a utility called OutlookSwitcher (from memory under the Post Install folder).
Running the Outlook Switcher will change your HotSync conduit to sync with Outlook instead of Palm Desktop.
So:
1. Sync your TW with Palm Desktop (as a safeguard)
2. Run Outlook Switcher
3. Sync the TW with OL
4. Connect your HTC and sync with OL, making sure the conduit is set to desktop overwrite HTC
Hope this helps...

Thanks for that, but I bought my Palm from a friend and never had the install CD.
Mind you, if I'd known about OutlookSwitcher I might have been able to Google for it.
i can't seem to figure it out as my treo 750 doesn't work with my palm desktop.
and i can't seem to get my microsoft outlook to sync with my treo 650

are your HotSync conduits set to sync with Outlook or Palm Desktop? If Palm desktop you can run the OutlookSwitcher utility (found on your 650 CD) to switch the conduits to Outlook. Your 750 cannot sync with Palm Desktop.

You can hide your SIM contacts by editing the registry:
HKCU\ControlPanel\Phone
create a new DWORD value named "ShowSim" and set it to 0
(you need a 3rd party registry editor tool).
They will still show when you search through the Lookup Field, but will not show in the standard Contacts list.

Hi
I know that my question is basic but I want to be sure how to precede with a s710 WM6, Windows XP and Outlook 2003.
How to transfert my phone ontacts towards my PC without receiving all my contacs contaned in Outlook. In another hand, it is possible after sending from the phone over outlook (edited) resending them in my phone like selecting wich one I want to?
In one word, I want to transfert my contacts from the phone over my PC, edit them, and synch them back without touching my contacts base in Outlook.
Best regards
You could copy your original outlook contacts to a new folder in outlook. Then use the original folder for syncing with your phone - which could contain only the subset you wanted on you phone. You would have to manually update/copy between the new folder and the original however.
Hi,
I'm looking for a phone that will sync with my sharepoint folders on outlook 2003 (eg contacts, calendars), without needing to use chapura pocketmirror (which doesn't seem to be very compatible with vista??)
Does anyone do this? What phone do you use? My old ipaq 2210 used to do it using pocketmirror with no worries - but my treo 750 doesn't like it at all.
Any advice?
Cheers,
Steve
