Has anyone successfully unlocked the Cingular Treo 750?? IMEI-Check doesnt recognize it and GSMLiberty doesnt either.
yeah i also would like to know...i contacted cingular and they gave me an eight digit code...i did the *#*#code#, then dial...and it give me a message "waiting" and nothing...i was on the phone with cingular for an hour and they couldnt help me...treo tech told me that it would take up to 15 min to unlock...i waited for 30 min stuck on that waiting screen...and no unlock phone...anyone got any answers??
Yep your right
I have tried both GSM Liberty and the code from Cingular and neither will work. Something is in the ROM is preventing an unlocking.
IMEI-Check has updated their software and now works with the Cingular Treo 750
Worked for me

I used http://www.nextgenserver.com to unlock my 750 from Vodafone, worked like it says on the tin. More complex than just entering a code, but easier than unlocking my wizard (but thanks to machinagod for taking the time to write the software!).
Cheers
Angus
so I got this unlocking software from this ebay seller
http://cgi.ebay.com/TREO750-REMOTE-...ryZ43312QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
I follow the exact steps and when I reach the final step to unlock I got the following message
"Looking for a phone...
Can't get bootloader prompt !"
any1 know whats the problem??
I already email the seller but was just wondering if u guys have any ideas.
any help would be appreciated.
I get the same error.. they dont reply to emails so dont count on a refund.
Everyone should stay away from GSMLiberty.net too. I even paid for the unlock code from another seller on ebay, and it doesnt work either! Man, I've wasted so much money on unlocking this phone and nothing has worked.

Got mine unlocked fifteen minutes ago with no problems. Got my T-Mobile UK card in it and it's working fine.
I have run into one hitch, however: it seems as though the Web browser is hard-coded to default to Cingular's device:home page (MEdiaNet, I guess), even when there is no proxy server enabled. I've tried rooting around in the registry to see if I can find it, but nothing comes up.
I'm about to install and try Total Commander, but I've little knowledge of the program and would prefer to deal with this without its installation.
Any ideas?
It's not hard-coded, though it is loading preferences off the SIM.
You can disable the bit in the reg (check this very forum for the exact key, as I don't recall it offhand) or you can hard reset and just stick your T-Mobile card in there before putting in the Cingular one. Either method should work.
Yes, I found the solution shortly after I posted my message.
Thanks!
I followed the flash tutorial at www.fasttutorial.com to unlock treo 750 and Wizard

Anyone else have this issue or have a work around for this?
I have a MDA II that I brought back from Germany, WM5 installed fine and used it over there for quite some time now. Got back home and signed up with Cingular and can't get it to connect to the network. I also have a MDA III, but it had no issues at all after I put on the Tuma ROM. However the MDA II is prving to be quite a challenge and I think I have tried every unlock tool, a few different ROMs but to no avail. Funny thing is, it doesn't ask for a subsidy unlock code or any unlock code for that matter, it just will not connect to the Cingular Network> Any ideas??? Anything in the registry that I missed? If so let me know...please??
Help is greatly appreciated, pointing and laughing is discouraged, but also ok. ::
Thanks,
Brian
Hi everyone,
I love this site, and it has been very helpful with all the information.
I'm stuck in a dilemma at the moment.
I had managed to un-lock my T-mobile MDA Compact. and had been using it on O2 for more than 2 years.
Just the other day,it came up with a message saying "No Service", where it shows the network coverage.
I tried my T-mobile sim card, and that works fine.
I tried the O2 Sim in my mates phone, and thats working fine too.
I tried an Orange Sim in the MDA, and still no coverage.
Could it be that it has managed to SIM-Lock itself again?
I have downloaded the un-locking program again, and tried to un-lock it. It comes up with a message saying "phone un-locked", but still doesn't work with my O2 sim.
I need help to make it work again on O2.
Any information on this will be most appreciated.
Thanks again guys, and keep up the good work.
Cheers,
Jas
Looks like something is wrong with your simcard rather than your phone
Hi Moos,
I have tried the SIM in an un-locked Nokia, and it works perfectly.
I have dropped myself in more problems :-((
I downloaded the ROM update program from xda-developers, and tried to flash it.
It got to 3% and came up with an error message.
After that, the phone says "NO GSM" when you start it up, and won't recognize any sim at all.
I tried to update it with t-mobile's ROM from their site, and now it keeps coming up with a COUNTRY ID ERROR.
I love this phone and don't want to throw it away.
I know there's someone out there that can help me out.
Please, anyone, if you have any info, and any software I can use to flash it, help meeee!
Thanks in advance,
Jas

After spending time on the site last night, I figured out a way of flashing my ROM with the current software.
I managed to do this, and now I'm back at square 1. My phone will recognize a t-mobile SIM, but will not recognize any other SIM cards.
I have ran both versions of xdadev_all_unlock, and they both come up with a message saying that the phone has been unlocked.
But still, no joy with any other SIM cards.
I have also noticed that the IMEI number shown under phone identity is different to the number printed at the back.
As mentioned, I have been using this phone (after un-locking it on xda-developers) for more than 3 years. It has never given me any problems until now.
I contacted T-moble about this IMEI number, and they said that its the number printed on the phone that matters. DOn't worry about the number shown on the screen.
Is this true?
Please please help me out on this one.
Thanks,
Jas
I now work in Zambia and received some phones from the US for my organizations work here (non-profit). I received 3 AT&T Fuzes. Of course they were SIM locked, so I used a service to unlock the first device and it worked fine. However, when I attempted to unlock the second two devices, the SIM unlock failed. I am trying to figure out why the other devices failed to unlock.
Does anyone know if having HardSPL or a different version of the radio than what came on the device can impact this?
I am thinking I unlocked the first device while downloading HardSPL or a new radio (slow connections here). The unlock worked. However, by time I tried to unlock the other two devices, they had HardSPL and a new radio build and they failed. I am wondering if there is a connection. (I know I can downgrade but downloading the original build talks days here - slow connections).
Any advice?

Me thinks you have to purchase separate unlocks for each phone as they are assigned to the IMEI#
Yeah, if you're unlocking multiple phones with the Raphael Unlocker, you need to either purchase multiple unlockers or pm Olipro or Cmonex and convince them why they should give you a couple for free (good luck w/ that, lol).
It is recommended that you downgrade the radio to the 1.01.xx.x Raphael version prior to running the unlocker. If you did in fact purchase the 3 unlockers, this could be your problem with the latter two. Flash the downgraded radio, unlock, then flash back to a better radio (you can even go with a Blackstone, since you'll be security unlocked).
Clarification
Sorry, I wasn't clear. I obtained three unique unlock codes for the three unique IMEI numbers. I triple checked the IMEI numbers, so I am very confident this isn't a matter of an incorrect number. All unlock codes were received from the same service and the first one worked, but the next two did not. However in the span between unlocking the first and the others, I changed the SPL and radio stack. I am wondering if reverting would allow the codes to work? (I know I can test this, but downloads are so poor, I would rather get input from the community if there is any chance this had an impact).
Jonathan
Dunno, it might help. Sometimes the codes don't work, even if you get it from the carrier. The Raph unlocker always works. You sound like you know what you're doing, so you may want to give it a shot.
Reverting to stock radio might help with the codes. I wouldn't screw with the spl, though. Just try it and find out.

As Farmer Ted stated, try reverting the radio to a prior version.
I got my tp2 a couple of days ago and I have enjoyed it since I got it. One annoying thing is I lock the phone and put in my pocket or go to something and come back and the phone is unlocked...I was wondering is there a .cab that one can use to set the phone to require a password to be unlocked? I went into a telus store here in canada and the guy that works at telus told me he put in on his phone...I know it exists, I asked him to forward it to me and he wasn't into doing so. I have a US verizon tp2.
Thanks in advance.

P.S. any word on the official release of 6.5 for verizon?

I changed the function of the End key (Settings | Buttons | End Key) on my phone to lock it. I've never had it unlock on its own. Is this how you lock the phone, if not, maybe give it a shot?
i started using S2U2 on my old phone when i had the same problem
you can also set a PIN to unlock the phone by going to the Lock icon under settings
The reason he didn't want to send it to you is because he is an idiot and didn't want you to know that he didn't know what he was talking about.
You can go to settings / lock, and set it to require a pin to unlock. But that sucks IMHO.
I prefer a program called TouchLockPro. You can set it to unlock on the light sensor or keyboard slide, etc.
What do you mean about the Verizon 6.5? It has been out over a month now and I'm using it.

You don't need a cab, you just need to edit a registry setting...
"HKCU/controlpanel/keybd". then look for the value "DeviceLockWhenSuspended". change the from 0 to 1 and soft reset... after that it will lock whenever you press the suspend button on the top.
Thank you guys for your site, I've learned so much already. Here's my problem, I took my HTC Inspire to a tech guy to have him unlock the phone (at that time I didn't know that I could just call AT&T and get the unlock code...). The guy said he unlocked the phone but when I tried putting in T-Mobile sim card it would sometimes read and sometimes not. From being on your website, I discovered a few things. First, the phone's software is reading a different IMEI # than what's actually printed on the phone. Also, when I started the phone to see the bootloader, it still showed as locked. However, when I start the phone with a different sim card, the phone does not ask me for an unlock code, it simply either reads or doesn't read (most of the time) the presence of a sim card. I figured the best way to handle this was to use Glevitan's easy unlock tool (since the hack kit is no longer available). However, when his program gets to the part with the token identifier, I was able to copy the token but have a problem with the HTC-DEV website. Either the website says the code was accepted and that an email was sent (which I never receive) or just before getting to the screen to input the token identifier the website says that I'm not logged in (which of course, I am). Anyway, I've been trying to get the email from HTC-DEV for three days now to no avail (I've even tried to tweet HTC-DEV who only resopnded once saying to check my spam folder...). I am hoping someone can help me. I would like to either fully unlock the phone and flash a new ROM or at least get the phone to recognize the correct IMEI and go back to stock to get an unlock code from AT&T. Thanks for reading this long post! Jim
Try using a different email address for the unlock code. Or pm me with your token I'D and ill rum it through the site and pm you back with your token.
Not sent from an Iphone but from a more sophisticated Android device.

Just FYI, glevitan's tool is for bootloader unlock, not SIM unlock. They're separate things. Having never unlocked my SIM card manually, I don't know what's going on with the IMEIs. If your phone sometimes reads an alternate SIM card and sometimes doesn't, I would see if the phone has the same problem with the original SIM card. If it does, it's probably a hardware problem. If that's not the case, if I were in your situation, I'd go yell at the tech guy and try to figure out what he did.

Jim, It seems that the tech guy used a box to modify your IMEI number in order to unlock it. You should use the same method to revert it to stock IMEI and the get the unlock code from your carrier. What I am refering is a JTAG BOX
