Hi everybody,
I got quite annoyed by having to read several threads on the new WM6 ROM with the same newbie questions on and on. It blows the threads and makes it a neverending story to get the information most of us are looking for:
What are the issues with the new ROM - do the integrated apps and features work and which third party apps work
That's why I started this new thread! I already picked the information posted in the other threads - let's get together and post here answers (and please: NO newbie questions) to the above topics, so we don't have to read all the "Mum, I bricked my new toy!" stuff...
Here the infos I already found:
Issues with ROM/integrated apps/features:
no MMS, but ArcSoftMMS can be installed
camera app "hidden": copy file camera.lnk from /windows to /windows/start menu/programs (with Total Commander you will see it. Just view properties and uncheck "hidden")
you need AS 4.5 to sync

- Prettier than 3.3 (to some degree)

- Exchange wizard on setup screens
- You can skip the stupid Dr meeting setup screen
All in all, it's in an infant state. Don't use it for production. Wait a few weeks and someone will cook up a masterpiece. If you have had the pleasure of seeing this ROM, you are looking at the canvas of one soon-to-be masterpiece. I bet you that the cooked ROM product to come out of this ROM will be the end-all...
Did you guys fine the Internet Calling appliation that comes with the ROM worked? Mine always reports "Not Available".
just add coreplayer as workin
batterystatus plus 1.04 beta2 is actually workin despite the error message on install, after start not showin up fully, switching the rows on and off helps only thing not workin are free space on storage card and activating wifi in the taskbar
tman 0.9.5 is workin but doesnt fit the skin too well
someone know where to get the sms backup app from farias and molskis roms?? only thing missing to happyness

- slower? i don't think so
- omapclock is a program developed by 3rd parts. Install it if you need it.
- barebones: that's true
- which sounds are you missing? Rings? Rings are not provided by MS. Install the rings you like if you want.
- Bluetooth: haven't tried it
- Error reporting: it was present in wm5 too. Disable it.
- ???

I agree and also raise:
- BT PAN (haven't tried it but it should be there)
- HTML Email
- Better designed Message application (accounts are more easily reached)
- different notification icons for text or email msgs
- Remote Desktop: much better than terminal services client
- Smartdial included in phone application. No more HTC's external smartdial app.
- Improved contacts application
I know this rom is not perfect/complete but it is really a gooooood starting point!

I'm not sure about how internet calling works but i think it is somehow related to msn live services.

Then reboot (reset will make camera visible in button settings)
After that you can assign "button 3" (the camera button) with the camera.lnk:
Settings>Buttons and select button 3 and point to "camera"
Now you can shoot your pictures

it's supposed to be a SIP standard client. unfortunately i don't have the rom installed so can't really help a lot - just google a bit on "SIP" and you will find out more...

risidoro, the sounds are missing when pressing the start button and things like pop up menus when you tap and hold etc... I did raise this in the main thread but no one else commented so i presumed it was just me

It seems that battery level is not working right!
I had approx 78% power left before I powered down, removed battery (to replace SIM) and start up again.

Just a setting:
Settings> sounds & notifications > select "Screen taps"
Can someone please describe how to make Arcsoft MMS Composer working? I did some of my research and made following:
1. I downloaded the app from http://qtekworld.free.fr/bepe/OEM/ArcsoftMMS
2. I copied necessary files to Windows directory and regged the *.rgu file.
3. I deleted templates, pictures, sounds and videos, cuz' I don't need them.
4. After a rebot a "MMS Configuration" displays under Messaging > Menu. I enter all settings. Everything fine 'till here.
5. BUT there is no MMS folder in Messagging!??!?! So there is no way to write a new MMS??
Please help!

Know issues and recommendations;
No performance tweaks needed in my opinion
I recommend over clocking the rom [battery-status] to 247 MHz instead of applying performance tweaks ,performance tweaks take away ram…….were over clocking comes at very little loss of battery especially if you use the auto scale function.
THIS rom has no parts from any current wm6 rom,this is a real WWE wizard rom ,all the parts needed to make it as a full rom were sourced from my 3.3.
Battery status cannot be configured from today options control panel…….but you can configure it by pressing and holding the battery icon in battery-status today plug in.
the rom may be bit slower because i did not applied any performance tweaks....plus the rom is fully loaded so we cant compare to other roms.....i mean this roms has everything working.....its like comparing a loaded truck to an empty one..
the device may crash when it reboots for the first time at the welcome screen if you don't tap it straight away....just reset the device with the stylus and it will be fine. this is because there is apps loading in the background.
a vanilha version will be released soon.

You mean it doesn't share modifications that were present in other WM6 roms, that yours comes from a clean WM6 and you added your own stuff?
Or that it's not a WM6 core...?

yes this rom has nothing to do with any prereleased wizard rom,or parts.

The ROM image doesn't really care whether you're using Windows XP or Windows Vista. Without knowing the details, I'm guessing that the problems you're having have to do with the new security "features" of Windows Vista.
What you'll need to do is once you've downloaded the ROM image to a location on your local hard drive, right-click on the file and select "Run as Administrator". You will be prompted to "Allow" or "Cancel", select "Allow" and you should be OK from that point forward.

Not really, the problem I had was , it started to upgrade and when the phone restarted and the rainbow appeared the connection was lost between PC and phone.

The issue you are havings is a known issue. The flash utility looks for ActiveSync, and since Vista does not use ActiveSync but its own mess, you wont be able to flash with Vista.
Can anyone provide a mirror link?
Ok before Faria gets slammed with posts about the flash freezing at 99%.... this is normal. All ROM's (Even releases by HTC or your carrier) have a point when it looks frozen but its not.
Also one thing I have seen is that people expect these things to be perfect OOB (out of box), this is never the case. There will always be a few little kinks and if you read the forum you will either find the answer in this post or another. So read before you post.
On another note, faria I love this release. So far no issues seen, but i will run the phone hardcore as i usually do to see if there are any issues. Thanks again for all your hardwork in putting this release out.
Some people who where trying to update to WM6 on Smartphones like Dash had a problem with "Invalid Code ID"... (me as well).
The procedure to solve the prob was to use the "Unlocker" program provided by some companies, disconnect cable when it asked for a file, close the program and continue to flash with "modded files" (the modded files were specific to the "vendor ID" prob).
Whe you run the unlocker, ActiveSync disconnects, at least looks so.
In this case my "noobish" mind could think the unlocker is actually handling by itself the connection... In this case, using this procedure, it should be possible to run the upgrade even from Vista.
On the other hand, the unlocker might just disconnect ActiveSync but still be using MS drivers, which are probably different in Vista.
Maybe I'm not used to think and I'm just saying nonsense.

Issues:
BatteryStatus doesn't seem to report batter draw correctly. I would recommend using either Smartkey and OMAP - or no overclock at all!
There may / may not be issues with Java or Flash in IE. Not confirmed, or solution provided (yet).
This build has lots of packages / fixes / perks from all around the forum. When the beta is done, the release I will attempt to give credit where known / due.

I notice a strange thing. After you told me the registry setting to switch off WLAN preload, the problem that IE abnormal after 6-7 pages has gone! I tried to power cycle the device for several times and the problem does not show anymore.

A few things maybe - I keep the phone locked and powered off when not being used (keeps the screen from "coming awake" every minute or so), I don't run batterystatus, I keep beam and wifi off unless I need them, and don't have the screen brightness cranked up. Other than that, I used it as described.
Edit: also, I remove everything but WifiInit and CapNotify from the startup folder.
Using 2.5
I have been using it for two days with no problems whatsoever! Battery life is good. Device is quick and responsive. A++++ for a stable, bare bones ROM!

From what I've seen, yes - 15.2.1413. It is mUn's release and doubleOfour extracted it into his base kitchen - and heavily tweaked from there.

init_tray is for the batter icon and comm manager icon in the quick launch bar at the bottom of your screen.
The poutlook should be for kicking off the service for your outlook program - I don't use it, but even with other programs like voice speed dial, I can remove the sddaemon from startup and the program still works fine.
I'd suggest just moving them to your SD card and trying it!

PIM Backup 1.9 will actually also back up your text messages for you (inbox and everything, including your outlook folders)
would save space if you removed SMS backup. unless there is a demand for it of course!

so is there consensus that SMS Backup should be ax'd? I'll pull it from the release - which will alos include the update utility!
Well, my initial comments on the 2.22 build is that while using Live, omap, smartkey, and Weather to go, the batter is taking a good beating.
I think all this extra crap just eats up juice. I'm re-evaluating their importance relative to batter life...
Otherwise, I haven't had any issues to speak of.

I don't install or set anything to write to the SD either. I figure the SD is best for things like installation files or MP3's. The programs waste enough battery power when running, why have programs accessing the SD also and draining it more?

I'm installing this with a mild vanilla rom I'm trying out, getting ready for release...
i think i MIGHT have found a big problem.....i simply cant get WIFI to turn on via the comm manager....could this have anything to do with the fact that i dont have any WIFI connection available in the vicinity ?? i mean WIFI should atleast turn on shouldn't it?? otherwise great rom
try change HTCPreloadWifi to 1 (u have to SR after that)!
Or try to click it once more and it will be up.

Intro:
Because of there are many bugs with the base 15342 (i will give more details). So i used another Base Rom (the most stable one)
I don't like to release one every 3-4 days, but we have to do it up to have one of the greatest roms (i hope ). if we catch this goal; we will start releasing the same but with the newest features available, so keep around.
Many thanks to Faria and his team for the wonderful base rom (15341). really it is the best. I used it with doing every thing as usual.
If you didn't try any of TNT series before, this is the time for trying .

Hey buddy i am SO EXCITED... your Roms are teh fastest and best by FAR!!!! onmly thing is i get a lot mos missed calls I am in the what can i do to improve my call quality so i can get my calls. Also What can i do to get teh regualr voice dail instead of the voice command. But yea i am dying to load this on the old Wizard... this program brought new life to my MDA was thiking of getting a wing but not anymore...

I want to get the wing, but the only thing that make me stay with my mda is that I dont see that many thins for it.
talking about the missed calls, i didnt have any problems, I don't know what bug could it be.
Well I flash my device back to the oficial T-mobile room, and then back to this new version, I still get the plash screen of t-mobile (ugly) I dont know if I should get a different one, after the ispl and al that stuff I get the customiz splash you made, Nice when i finished stteing up I have on memory: Storage Total, 47.64 MB in use, 4.29 and free, 43.19 MB a little more of what you said, maybe I'm missing something I dont know. On programs 49.95 Mb, 19.28 MB, and free 30.67 MB, and after I closed actived sycn (i didnt know it was open0 i get 30.95 free memory. Something interesting is that when I put my SD card back it takes some considerable memory from 30.95 to 30.09 MB
Voice recording working nice.
The finder is great
I'll keep checking in a few
My only question is, when I restart Show I get the T-Mobile or the previous room's splash screen? or a new one? I'm talking about the 1 and 2 when the radio and all tha information is displayed.

Someone correct me if I am wrong but I do not believe the splash screen for IPL/SPL/Radio/ROM is part of the TNT 3.0 install. Whatever you had before will remain.

Also I was checking the MMS and I was not able to send one to myself like before. Also the 400kb was disable. It was before but when I used a cab file to install the t-mobile settings it changed, I'm gonna doing manually this time. I'll be back with more ^^
Some initial observations questions:
SMS addressing fixed.
TZ network change appears to be working. Will know for sure when I get back to Colorado tomorrow. Correct regedit is present to TZ change.
Had a couple of lockups 1. Changing Theme 2. Plugged phone in to charge, went back after a few minutes and it was locked up. Soft reset recover both times. Has not happpened since.
In E-mails and PIE, some text font does not look as clear as in 1.0 and 2.0. Almost looks like clear type is turned on. Anyone else seeing the same?
Adobe reader LE much better choice. Not only does it resolve the issue you mentioned but also renders on zooming much faster than the other app.
Screen capture is not on 3.0?
Couple of questions.
1. Is there a way to disable the scroll bar on the today screen?
2. One thing I miss fom SPB PP is the battery time remaining instead of %. Have look all thru iLauncher and cannot find a setting to show battery time remaining.

no offence, but here is a list of bugs that i have found in the alpha version by phill. can you confirm that all of them have been fixed?
if u remove windows update, at least supply it as a cab in the extras folder.
channels don't work.
long pressed side button does not work! it used to start voice note record for the sda and i'd like that to work.

better camera software. btw htc camera makes the phone SLOW..... not a good one. need an alternate
enable profile switching to silent when long pressing '#' key
default folder for saving pictures on storage card is not my documents\my pictures any more but a lame dcim folder. that would be nice to be changed.
also, sometimes when answering a call, the keyboard stays locked, the call is still on, but the home screen is active and not the call screen.

Upgraded a few minutes ago without a problem.
All looks good, but I will test it further once I copy the contents of my old SDCard to my new 2gb

Ive found that the game Caver works well on the diamond 2 so far!
The slingplayer software for Slingmedia's Slingbox works well even in full screen.
Microsoft Voice Command 1.60 is really, really useful. I used it for a long time now on various devices.
I was disappointed at first that it wouldn't work on the D2 but now I have fixed it. The issue is with activation from a hardware button (there's only one programmable button anyway on the D2 and that is the long press button 1 - the send key). When I went into the button settings and assigned "Voice Command" from the list it just gave an error bleep and nothing else happened. It did work from a bluetooth headset though. So I tried running the actual program "voicecmd.exe" from within a file manager and it worked perfectly!
So, I created a shortcut into \\windows\start menu\Programs so that I had an entry in the programs list for "voicecmd". I then assigned that command into the buttons settings and it works fine now.
I hope this will help anyone else.

Which version of MSVC are you using?
I have tried 1.6.19965 but I get no BT activation of VC, pressing the send key is fine (after your startup link suggestion).

Have you enabled voice command in settings? I have 1.6.19214 installed and BT activation works just fine once voice command is enabled. I don't bother with send key activation.

Enable GPS mode in the camera for geotagging and TomTom
Like previous phones, the Topaz includes a mode for embedding your location (from the GPS) into photographs.
This can be enabled by changing the value of the DWORD value Enable from 0 to 1 in the registry at HKLM/Software/HTC/Camera/P10.
Initial indications are that the bug that plagues earlier versions (that of placing locations between 0 and 1 degree west of Greenwich to the east of Greenwich instead) is fixed.
To use this feature in TomTom Navigator, take a picture in GPS mode, then copy the photo out of the My POI folder into a folder named GEO-PHOTOS in the root of your storage card. Then TomTom can Navigate to Picture using the embedded co-ordinates.

No, it installed fine. I always get that error when I install the MSVC UK version I bought though. Didn't bother with that version this time and went straight to 1.6.19214 as that had worked perfectly on my HD before I lost it.

Like previous phones, the Topaz includes a mode for embedding your location (from the GPS) into photographs.
This can be enabled by changing the value of the DWORD value Enable from 0 to 1 in the registry at HKLM/Software/HTC/Camera/P10.

Is there an easy way (like in winXP) to get acces to the registry of the TD2?
I don't know how to get in. Please help.
Is there also a registry fix to fix the problem with Tomtom (cutting off voices) on the TD2? (see also http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=3660120#post3660120):D

The version of Microsoft Voice Command that I use is in a different number range to the ones posted here. It is v1.60.4622.0 and hasn't been updated for ages as far as I know.
After putting the shortcut into the programs menu and rebooting, it works very well.

Yes the above work.
What I have found that also works:
1. Advanced_Configuration_Tool_v3.3 with NetCF 3.5 installed. Some settings do not change though and the Touch 3D in the extra settings does not work (incompatibility issue).
2. Xmatrix Battery and Memory Meter works (but you must restart/soft reset your D2 after installation even though there is no "restart" option after installation).
3. I have TomTom navigator 7.4 (Australia Maps) and it works ok.
4. RJV SMS Scheduler works a treat but I cannot turn off the audible notification of message sent. Not that annoying only if I am asleep!
5. Kaldma Stopwatch.
6. I presume Tmyynt SD TuneUp works. Installed fine and noticed a slight improvement in file transfer between SD card and device and external computer.
7. TF3D2 Tweak OK, except Program Icons Off does not work. Manilla Landscape works and is soooo cool.
That's it for now. What I am reeeeeally waiting/hoping for is a HardSPL that works on the D2 so we can start flashing a whole bunch of new ROMS.

looks and operates very similar to winXP's regedit
i found also tomtom navigator, and fixover battery, and batty.
the last 2 are battery aplications.
anyone can give me link to donwloand TomTom navigator 7.4 (australian map)
